This week in Boston Neighborhood Sports, we bring you highlights of the 2014 Baseball City Championship, along with scores from BPS Spring City Championship week.
A
A
What
mother
nature
hasn't
been
kind
to
us,
New
Englanders
during
when
I
guess
we
can
call
the
spring
the
high
school
spring.
Sports
seasons
are
coming
to
a
close
with
all
the
makeup
brain
games
in
the
books,
we're
ready
for
the
postseason
last
week
with
city
championship
week
for
boston,
public
high
school
sports,
which
was
capped
off
with
the
city
baseball
championship
on
Memorial
Day.
We're
an
upstart,
Boston
International
baseball
program
took
on
two-time
defending
champion
Boston
English,
let's
head
to
Boston
English
high
for
the
city
championship
day.
A
You
see
the
English,
blue
and
blue
looking
to
get
their
third
city
championship
in
a
row,
we're
going
to
pick
it
up
in
the
top
of
the
second
inning
Boston
English
up
five
to
one
book.
Boston
international
charges
right
back,
darling,
Tejada
on
third
angel
Tehran
scope,
close
so
comes
into
with
the
RBI
right
there
as
boss,
International
now
trails
by
just
three,
then
still
in
the
second
ending
its
Wilson
arias.
A
Shooting
that
one
up
the
middle
tough
play
for
the
shortstop
as
bi
gets
four
runs
in
the
top
of
the
second
inning
as
they
climb
back
within
one
English.
In
the
top
of
the
third,
get
would
get
a
bunch
right
back,
Arielle
Rodriguez,
with
a
base
hit
to
Center,
knocks
in
a
run
for
the
blue
and
blue
they're
up
724
same
inning
for
Boston
English,
two
men
on
for
Miguel
Lorenzo.
He
rips
it
through
the
gap
and
left
two
more
runs
coming
to
score
for
the
blue
and
blue.
A
They
get
four
runs
in
the
third
inning.
They
then
lead
10
to
four
going
to
fast
forward
to
the
top
of
the
seventh
inning
Boston
English
in
full
command.
Now
they're
up
18,
the
six
Boston
international,
with
two
runners
on
but
Boston
English
will
turn
a
beautiful
double
play
right
here,
free
at
Gonzales
with
that
play
from
shortstop
as
there's
now
two
outs
in
the
inning
and
then
with
one
out
left.
Navarro
takes
care
of
that.
He
strikes
out.
A
Boston
internationals,
Randy,
Gonzales
English
goes
on
to
win
the
2014
baseball
city
championship
18,
26
Navarro
went
the
distance
for
Boston
English,
that's
three
city
championships
in
a
row
for
the
English,
blue
and
blue.
That's
new
athletic
director
Avery
s
Dale,
who
hands
over
the
city
championship
trophy
to
the
blossom.
English,
blue
and
blue
with
a
three-peat.
We
talked
to
Coach
Figueroa
after
the
game.
B
At
the
end
of
the
season,
we
start
hitting
the
work,
pretty
good
and
then
carry
up
to
the
playoffs
and
then
to
the
finals.
Everybody
hit
the
ball
good.
You
know
we
miss
you
on
the
field,
but
they
are.
They
often
made
a
different
port
for
easy
for
two
to
win
the
game
yeah.
This
is
like
a
tradition
now,
when
you
know
I'm
very
proud
of
it.
I've
been
here
and
be
part
of
this
successful.
A
The
city
softball
championship
was
also
on
Memorial
Day
and
latin
academy,
Lady
Dragons,
taking
down
East
Boston
12-2,
nothing,
that's
latin
academy,
7th
city
championship
in
a
row;
Olivia
McGrath,
yes,
there's
another
good,
McGrath
softball
player
at
latin
academy.
She
went
3
for
4,
with
a
homer
and
four
RBIs
for
the
latin
academy.
Lady
dragons.
Also
last
week
on
Tuesday
was
the
city
track
championships,
latin
academy
with
a
clean
sweep.
A
In
the
first
round,
latin
academy
took
down
O'bryant
on
the
boys
side
of
the
north
first
round
of
the
volleyball
state
championship
to
latin
county
with
an
outstanding
week
last
week
in
both
the
city
championship
and
the
state
tournament
for
spring
sports.
So
all
the
city
championships
are
now
in
the
books.
Congratulations
to
all
the
winners,
and
now
we
have
a
chance
to
take
a
look
at
the
spring
sports
state
championships,
which
we
can
also
look
forward
to.
Those
are
always
a
lot
of
fun.
