Description
This week in Boston Neighborhood Sports, we bring you highlights of a girls Boston North matchup between the Brighton Lady Bengals and New Mission Lady Titans, along with other BPS high school hoops scores from the weekend.
A
The
newish
and
titans
girls,
basketball
team
is
hoping
to
bounce
back
in
2020
after
being
ousted
in
the
first
round
of
the
state
tournament
for
the
first
time
in
school
history
back
in
2019,
with
seven
returning
seniors
from
last
season,
including
four
starters.
The
Lady
Titans
are
primed
to
make
a
better
postseason
run.
A
This
time
around
new
mission
began
the
season
winning
their
first
five
games
before
losing
to
Woburn
on
Thursday
on
Friday,
look
to
get
back
to
their
winning
ways
when
they
took
on
Boston
North
rival,
Brighton,
let's
head
out
to
Hyde
Park
that
new
mission
high
school,
they
see
the
Titans
looking
to
get
to
their
sixth
win
of
the
season.
In
the
first
quarter,
Ashlee
surrett
bringing
up
the
ball.
She
rattles
home
a
three
for
new
mission.
A
This
time
it's
Hernandez,
taking
it
in
herself
for
the
pull-up
jumper
gets
the
Bengals
to
double
digits
commanding
lina
at
the
half
for
a
new
mission
3rd
quarter,
the
mission's
second
unit
in
it's
Kiana
de
barro
soft.
The
swing
connects
from
long
distance
new
mission
still
with
a
commanding
lead
there
in
the
third
quarter
fast
for
two,
the
fourth
quarter
now
Jalen
Hernandez
gonna
switch
this
step-back
three
right
here
for
bright
and
she
leads
all
scorers
with
18.
A
But
it's
new
mission
with
a
big
time
win
over
Brighton
66
to
29
for
their
sixth
win
of
the
season.
Let's
get
to
the
rest
of
the
scores
from
Friday
night
as
Latin
Academy
boys
took
down
chumps
for
at
84
250
Nathan
Lawson
with
14
points
and
six
assists
for
the
dragon.
Saint
John's
Prep
defeats
Boston
English
by
nine.
Also
on
Friday
night.
Then
it
was
Snowden
taken
down
a
fan
away,
58
to
47
Brooks
with
22
points
and
steals
for
the
Snowden
Cougars
Waltham
defeats
Boston
Latin
on
the
road
72
62.
A
So
the
no
mission
Titans
improved
to
6
and
1
on
the
season
and
will
carry
that
record
into
more
Boston
City
League
play
over
the
next
couple
of
weeks
when
they
take
on
the
likes
of
Fenway
and
O'bryant
folks,
that's
gonna!
Do
it
for
sports
this
week
be
sure
to
come
right
back
here
next
time
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
