the
past
five
seasons
of
Boston
City
League,
girls,
basketball,
you
can
literally
flip
a
coin.
To
figure
out
who
would
win
the
girls
city
championship
is
going
to
either
be
new
mission
or
Fenway,
but
while
those
two
girls,
basketball
programs
are
again
near
the
top
of
the
City
League
standings
in
2019,
it's
been
the
Latin
Academy
Lady
Dragons,
who
have
had
the
most
impressive
season
to
date.

year's
girls
seem
to
be
the
best
in
over
a
decade
at
Latin
Academy,
and
that
team
was
on
display
this
past
Friday
when
they
took
on
fellow
Boston
North
rival
tech
Boston.

School
in
Dorchester,

It
was
her
teammates
who
got
it
going
early.

when

Melvin
Cuevas
hit
his
1,000th
career
point
with
his
first
basket
of

for
the

first
couple
of
seasons.
Melvin
has
stepped
up
his
scoring
in
this
his
senior
year
now
averaging
27
points
per
game.

Melvin
scored,

on
Wednesday
night
against
Cardinal
Spellman,
who
will
be
counted
upon
to
carry
the
scoring
load
for
the
Fenway
Panthers
this
season,
as
they
look
to
make

postseason
run
