Description
This week in Boston Neighborhood Sports, we bring you highlights from the Boston City League Baseball and Softball All-Star games.
A
As
the
school
year
comes
to
a
close,
so
too
does
the
spring
high
school
sports
season,
but
even
as
local
high
school
students
count
down
the
days
to
their
summer
vacation,
the
best
and
brightest
of
the
baseball
and
softball
players
in
the
city
of
Boston
were
able
to
showcase
their
talents.
One
last
time
this
year,
as
they
competed
in
the
city
league
all-star
game
at
Roberts
field
on
Thursday.
So,
let's
head
out
to
Dorchester
for
the
all-star
getting
first
up,
it's
the
baseball
all-star
game.
A
A
They
would
cut
the
lead
down
the
624,
just
a
two-run
ball
game,
but
in
the
top
of
the
fifth
it's
a
blue
squad.
Coming
up
again,
one
more
single
that
drops
into
shallow
center
Kevin
Sinatra
at
east
boston
comes
home
to
score.
Blue
team
goes
on
to
win
eight
to
form
the
baseball
all-star
game,
a
lot
of
fun
of
that
game.
A
Also
on
the
same
field,
just
down
the
block
there
and
Roberts
field
is
the
softball
all-star
game
and
it's
the
bottom
of
the
seventh
inning,
the
two
runners
on,
and
they
get
to
runners
to
come
home
to
score
on
that
double
up.
The
middle
their
form
a
bit,
but
at
the
end
of
the
game
there
with
two
outs,
the
red
squad
gets
the
strikeout
to
end
it
as
they
hang
on
to
win
four
to
three
over
the
blue
squad.
Another
fun
game
there
for
the
softball
all-star
game.
A
All-Star
games
are
always
a
lot
of
fun
because
both
the
softball
and
baseball
games
were
played
at
the
same
location.
Each
of
those
all-stars
got
together
for
a
cookout
right
afterwards,
that's
good
stuff!
That's
going
to
do
it
for
a
sports
this
week.
Folks
make
sure
you
come
right
back
here
next
week
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
