A
Friday
marked
the
last
week
of
regular
season
high
school
football
games
here
in
Massachusetts
before
the
start
of
the
playoffs,
a
couple
of
Boston
City
League
high
school
football
teams
were
on
the
bubble
of
the
postseason
one
of
those
squads
needing
a
win
to
on
Friday
to
squeeze
into
the
playoffs
with
the
East
Boston
Jets,
who
took
on
the
already
playoff
bound
and
Latin
Academy
dragons
on
Friday,
let's
head
out
to
Sartori
Stadium
in
East
Boston.
They
see
the
dragons
looking
to
improve
their
seed.
A
Meanwhile,
East
Boston
was
looking
to
try
to
get
into
the
postseason
Latin
Academy
on
the
opening
play
of
the
game.
They
tackle
East
Boston
on
the
kickoff,
but
they
had
some
bad
news.
After
this
one
has
robert
merrick
their
top
running
back
and
linebacker
sprained
his
ankle
on
that
play.
He
would
not
return
Scrolls
to
the
first
quarter.
Second
quarter
now,
Jets
on
the
move
from
the
37
Amir
Johnson
makes
a
couple
of
nice
moves
and
turns
on
the
afterburners
for
a
37
yard.
A
Touchdown
run
jets
up
6
to
zip
later
in
the
second
now
it's
Latin
Academy's
turn
Rafael
Cruz
from
the
East
Boston
44
makes
his
way
inside
the
5-yard
line,
just
to
spark
the
dragons
needed.
They
would
score
after
that,
to
tie
it
up
at
6.
That's
for
the
3rd
quarter.
Now
dragons
going
again
this
time,
it's
malcolm
Crispin,
with
a
beautiful
run
to
the
outside
26
yard,
touchdown
for
crispity
pizza,
dragons,
up
13
6
on
the
p80.
However,
the
lights
go
out
at
the
stadium.
A
Nobody
knows
what's
going
on,
nobody
could
see
if
the
kick
went
through
as
Lucas
suazo
attempted
the
p80.
The
lights
finally
went
back
on
in
the
press
box,
then
you
get
the
cheerleaders
down
on
the
field
they
using
an
iPhone
on
the
flashlight
on
the
iPhone
to
try
to
figure
out.
What's
going
on,
they
finally
got
the
lights
back
on
about
20
minutes
later
they
were
good
to
go
third
quarter
now.
A
He
breaks
multiple
tackles
right
here
then
drags
a
pile
of
East
Boston
defenders
inside
the
20
yard
line
that
basically
ended
the
3rd
corner.
Therefore
Latin
Academy,
then,
in
the
fourth
quarter,
from
the
17
yard
line
of
East
Boston,
it's
Malcolm
Crispin.
Once
again,
this
time
he's
gonna
bounce
to
the
outside
down
the
sideline.
He
looks
for
the
pylon
right
there.
They
call
it
a
good
touchdown.
A
Latin
Academy
goes
up
19
to
6
at
the
very
beginning
of
the
fourth
quarter,
these
Boston
Jets
trying
to
come
back
now,
Henry
and
Tunis
back
to
throw,
but
the
pass
is
picked
off
after
pressure,
it's
the
Kai
Whitmore,
bringing
it
back
for
the
touchdown
46
yard,
pick
6
for
Whitmore.
As
the
Dragons
hang
on
to
win
27
to
6
over
East
Boston.
A
These
are
the
seeds
now
upcoming
this
week
for
the
playoffs
Latin
Academy,
the
5
seed
visiting
the
shobha
Tech,
the
4
seed,
that's
in
the
division,
7th
quarterfinals
Aetna
stopa,
Checketts
Tech
at
6
p.m.
Lowell,
Catholic
hosting
O'brien;
also
the
division,
4
7
quarterfinals.
Then
its
new
mission
English,
taken
on
Keefe
Tech
on
the
road
in
the
division,
8
quarterfinals
that
time
a
location
to
be
determined,
Tech,
Boston,
hosting
Roxbury
Charter
on
Friday
night
at
6
p.m.
A
at
Roberts
Field
in
the
North
Division,
8
quarterfinals,
and
then
finally,
Charlestown
was
able
to
squeeze
in
to
the
postseason
there.
The
5
seed
against
Kipp
Academy,
the
4
seed
and
they
North
Division
8
quarterfinals.
That
game
will
be
at
Manning
field
and
Lynn
at
6
p.m.
on
Saturday,
November,
2nd,
so
5
bps
high
school
football
teams
make
the
postseason
this
year
be
sure
to
try
to
get
out
to
some
of
those
games
this
weekend
to
support
your
local
teams.
A
Now,
let's
switch
gears
over
to
volleyball
where
Boston
City
championship
girls,
volleyball
match,
was
held
on
Saturday
and
featured
an
undefeated
O'bryant
Lady
Tigers
team,
looking
to
make
it
18
and
0
on
the
year
against
last
year's
runner-up
Latin
Academy
near
the
O'bryant
Lady
Tigers
17,
and
on
the
regular
season.
Look
at
the
cap
it
off
with
a
city
championship.
They
won
the
first
two
sets
25
to
20
and
then
25
22
third
set
now
to
Risa
Peyer.
After
this
long
volley,
she's
gonna
drop
it
inside
there
for
the
Lady
Tigers.
A
They
plow
that
one
through
the
middle
of
the
court
Tigers
go
up
20
to
13
in
the
3rd
set
match
point
now.
Tigers
are
serving
both
teams
get
a
couple
of
good
returns
here
over
the
next
couple
of
seconds,
but
Latin
Academy
once
again
having
a
tough
time
getting
it
back
as
they
see
the
Tigers
with
the
diving
save
this
time.
Latin
Academy
can't
keep
it
in
bounds
and
the
Lady
Tigers
of
O'brien
go
on
to
win
the
2019
Boston
City
League
volleyball
championship.
A
They
cap
off
an
undefeated,
regular
season,
18
and
a
phenomenal
year
for
them.
So
far,
Maria
Mora,
visca
a
know
was
named.
The
MVP
of
the
City
League
tournament
and
O'brien
will
get
will
be
getting
a
1
seed
in
the
state
tournament
over
the
next
couple
of
days,
Congrats
to
the
O'brien
Lady
Tigers.
Let's
hope
they
can
keep
that
undefeated
streak
going
in
the
upcoming
state
tournament
and
folks,
that's
gonna!
Do
it
for
sports
this
week
make
sure
you
come
right
back
here
next
time
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
