A
After
a
disappointing
loss
in
last
year's
state
championship
game,
the
Brighton
High
School
boys,
basketball
team
vowed
to
come
back
in
2013
with
a
better
focus
and
intensity
in
a
second
attempt
to
earn
the
title
of
best
in
the
state
on
Saturday,
the
Bengals
were
back
in
the
state
championship
game
and
this
time
around
brighton
was
ready
for
the
challenge.
Let's
head
out
to
the
dcu
center
for
this
one.
A
As
the
Brighton
Bengals
took
on
South
Hadley
in
the
state
championships,
you
see
the
bangles
looking
to
become
the
first
team
in
school
history
to
win
the
state
championship
at
Brighton
High.
We
pick
it
up
in
the
first
quarter.
They
see
Malik
James,
hitting
a
runner.
He
caps
off
a
seven
to
one
run,
to
start
off
the
ballgame
before
Brighton
later
on
the
first
Cameron
Earl
knocking
down
the
three.
Therefore
South
Hadley
brings
South
Hadley
within
three
earlier
on
in
the
first
we're
gonna
pick
it
up
later
on
the
first,
its
Malik
James.
A
Again
this
time
off
the
jump
off
the
dribble
knocks
down
the
jumper
finishing
a
70
run
to
end
the
first
quarter.
Second
quarter:
brighten
up
eight
Nathaniel
flocks
with
the
drive
for
South
Hadley
gets
the
Tigers
back
within
six,
but
that's
as
close
as
they
would
get
for
the
rest
of
the
ballgame
Malik
James.
With
another
step
back
jumper
puts
brighten
up
by
nine.
They
would
lead
at
the
half
by
ted
third
quarter.
Cameron
Earl
gets
the
putback
right
there
for
the
South
Hadley
Tigers.
A
He
had
16
for
South
Hadley,
but
it
would
not
be
enough
ensuing
possession
there's
Dave
on
Edwards
answering
with
a
deep
jumper.
He
brings
a
bangles
back
up
by
10
and
brighten
up
by
14
is
James
zip
in
a
pass
inside
there
to
Prince
boo,
no
boo
prince
had
six
points,
18
rebounds
and
five
blocks
for
the
Bengals.
They
go
up
by
16
near
the
end
of
the
third.
A
It's
Avon
white
scoring
on
the
fast
break,
one
of
the
few
fast-break
buckets
for
South
Hadley,
Brighton
way
too
good
there
in
the
half
court,
as
James
again
finds
moon
a
boo
as
the
Brighton
Bengals
get
it
right.
This
time
around,
they
take
down
south
hadley
59
241.
They
are
the
2013
state
champions
and
we
talked
to
coach,
hugh
coleman
after
the
game.
B
You
know
last
year
again,
I
talked
to
I
thought.
We
learned
a
lesson:
I'm,
not
really
deserving
it
for
not
doing
the
right
things.
This
year
has
been
amazing
for
the
young
men
academically.
They
haven't,
not
one
guy
funk
off
the
team.
They've
been
really
well
behaved
and
well
made
it
in
school.
They
did
a
great
job
in
practices,
so
we
really
want
to
give
them
appraised.
Then
we
really
want
to
you
know
give
a
special
shout-out
to
our
principal
friend
McDowell
grab
right
in
high
school.
You
know
he
supported
us
this
whole
way
through.
B
A
What
an
impressive
run
for
the
Brighton
bangles?
Not
only
did
they
win
their
first
state
championship
in
school
history,
but
they
also
are
the
first
boston
city,
boys,
basketball
team,
to
win
both
the
city
and
state
championship
since
2003.
So
congratulations
to
the
brighton
bangles
who
joined
the
Fenway
Lady
Panthers
as
2013
state
basketball,
champs.
Well,
the
state
championship
marks
the
end
of
the
high
school
basketball
season.
A
You
can
still
catch
a
glimpse
of
Boston's
best
high
school
poop
stirs
in
the
2013,
all
city,
basketball,
classic
this
Saturday
March,
