This week in Boston Neighborhood Sports, we bring you highlights of a Girls 18 & Under BNBL game from the Tynan Community Center in South Boston, along with some news about a former Madison Park High School baseball player.
A
As
we
approach
the
end
of
July,
believe
it
or
not,
but
suffers
about
halfway
over,
that
also
means
that
we're
at
the
midway
point
of
the
Boston,
neighborhood
basketball
league
and
teams
are
looking
to
position
themselves
for
a
good
seed
in
the
playoffs
on
Wednesday,
the
two
top
two
teams
at
the
Tynan
community
center
squared
off.
For
the
second
time
this
season,
when
Paris
Street
took
on
the
tight
and
curly,
let's
head
to
South
Boston
for
this
one
there
you
see
the
Paris
Street
squad.
They
actually
were
beating
tied
and
curly.
A
The
first
matchup,
but
then
blew
the
lead.
Time
was
able
to
win
that
one
right
there
on
early
in
the
first
average
Sakura
Johnson,
with
the
drive
that
capped
off
a
seven
and
run,
then
on
the
foot
rack
back
right
there
for
Paris
Street,
it
was
Yolo
ramirez
for
Paris
Street.
She
put
them
up
by
11,
then
later
on.
The
first
Johnson
finds
Ramirez
wide
open,
underneath
the
hoop
that
puts
Paris
Street
up
by
17
power
street
now
off
by
2200
30
seconds
to
go
in
the
half.
A
Elena
McCarthy
buries
a
three
right
there
for
the
timing,
curly.
As
they
go
in
a
50
run
to
end
the
first
half
second
half
now
tied
and
curly,
trying
to
make
a
comeback.
Samari
winklaar
gets
the
basket
in
one.
She
had
12
points
for
the
tiny
curly
squad,
but
Paris
Street
was
just
too
good
on
this
night
out
on
the
break.
It's
the
Escalera
twins,
hooking
up
as
sister
Laura
finds
the
bucket
right.
There
puts
pass
tree
up
by
21
later
on.
It's
no
lo
Ramirez,
when
the
tough
reverse
layin
right
there.
A
A
On
saturday
june,
seventh,
former
Madison
Park
High
School
and
UMass
Boston
Slugger
jamila
molky,
was
selected
by
the
Baltimore
Orioles
in
a
30
second
round
of
the
Major
League
Baseball
Draft
mohit
12
city
championships,
with
both
the
madison
park,
baseball
and
basketball
teams,
along
with
being
a
Boston
City
League
all-star
on
the
baseball
diamond
in
a
senior
season
at
UMass,
Boston
mohit
hit
333
with
38
runs,
scored
four
home
runs,
29
RBI,
19,
stolen
bases
and
an
on-base
percentage
of
497.
So
congratulations
to
Jamil
for
being
drafted
by
the
Baltimore
Orioles.
That's
very
impressive!
