Description
We've got highlights of one of the top boys' high school basketball teams in the state, when the Tech Boston Bears faced off against the O'Bryant Tigers, along with highlights of the CASH Chargers looking for their first win of the season against the very tough Fenway Panthers, in this weeks edition of Boston Neighborhood Sports.
A
Well,
tube
last
year's
top
city,
boys,
basketball
teams,
Brighton
and
O'bryant
deal
with
injuries
this
season.
A
couple
other
city
teams
have
risen
to
the
top
here
in
2018.
The
team
that
has
taken
the
biggest
leap
has
been
the
tech
Boston
Bears,
who
came
into
the
past
week
without
a
blemish
on
their
record
and
a
top
five
ranking
in
the
state
on
Tuesday
tech.
Boston,
look
to
keep
their
streak
going
against
a
banged
up,
O'brien
squad
who
was
looking
to
end
a
short
midseason
losing
streak
of
their
own.
A
Let's
head
out
to
O'brien
High
School
in
Roxbury.
For
this
one,
that's
Maurice
works
the
starting
point
guard
for
Tech's
boss
at
Tech
Lawson,
one
of
the
biggest
reasons
for
their
undefeated
season.
You're
gonna
see
why
right
now
works
finding
a
teammate
in
the
corner
for
the
wide
open
three
puts
tech,
Boston
up
67
53
against
the
O'brien
Tigers
here
in
the
fourth
quarter,
the
sont
des
Beaux
and
the
young
point
guard
for
the
Tigers.
With
a
nice
drive
right.
A
There
finishes
off
the
window
and
then
later
on,
it's
Rivaldo
Soares,
knocking
down
the
three
off
the
dribble
right
there.
For
the
Tigers,
as
they
try
to
mount
to
come
back,
but
it's
tech
Boston
was
just
too
tough
down
the
stretch
they
see.
Walter
do
Holland's
finish
in
the
reverse
layin
there
for
the
Bears
and
a
couple
of
plays
later
check
this
out
from
Walter
do
Hollins
following
the
shot
rips
it
down
right
there
for
the
Bears
off
the
missed.
Layup
Walter
do
Hans
with
15
points
in
this
one.
A
Next
posession
Maurice
works
connects
from
long
distance.
That
was
one
of
his
five
threes
on
the
night.
As
tech
Boston
went
on
to
win
82
to
70
over
the
Tigers
fast
forward
to
Friday
now
cash
taking
on
fenway
cash
still
looking
for
their
first
win
of
the
season,
Fenway
already
has
double-digit,
wins
looking
to
pile
on
in
their
win
column.
First
quarter,
that's
Erickson
trunk
COSO
knocking
down
the
three
for
cash,
but
they
weren't
done
now
up
6
to
4.
A
That's
Messiah
Thompson
with
the
triple
cash
goes
up
by
five
then
later
on
in
the
courts.
Tronco
so
again
from
deep
cash
knocks
down
five
threes
to
start
the
game
and
they
led
by
11.
Second
quarter.
Fenway
tries
to
get
it
going
to
vantes
Swetman
little
point
guards
gonna
score
off
the
window
right.
There
cuts
the
cash
lead
down
the
7
later
on
in
the
second
and
Swetman
again,
this
time
hitting
the
floater
for
the
Panthers.
The
game
was
tied
at
26.
A
To
that
point,
then,
under
to
go
in
the
half,
as
Jeff
million
burying
a
three
for
cash,
they
led
at
the
half
by
three
third
quarter.
Now:
cash
still
rollin
Jonathan
Marius
with
the
corner.
Three
everybody
hit
knocking
down
threes
for
this
cash
team.
They
go
up
by
eight,
but
about
five
minutes
ago
Fenway
gets
back
into
it.
Damon's
barboza
knocks
down
a
deep
three
cuts:
the
lead
down
to
one
ensuing
possesion
Fenway
down
three
Devante
Swetman
knocks
down
the
trifecta
ties
it
up
at
61,
apiece
cash,
now
up
by
just
two
barbozza
with
another.
A
A
Let's
take
a
look
at
the
rest
of
the
scores
from
the
weekend
as
Charlestown
took
down
O'brien
on
Friday
53
to
47
Garcia,
with
13
points
for
the
Charlestown
townies
and
tech
Boston
edges
out,
Needham
55
to
54
to
top
them
teams
going
at
it
right
there
to
Hollins
with
another
good
game.
15
points
in
that
one
for
the
tech,
Boston
Bears
Jeremiah
Burke
continues
to
be
one
of
the
top
teams
in
the
city
as
well.
They
take
down
Boston
English
91
to
67
and
Concord.
A
Carlisle's
squeezes
went
out
against
Boston
Latin
6866
kasher,
with
a
game-winning
three-pointer
at
the
buzzer
for
Concord
Carlisle,
there's
not
just
two
weeks
left
in
the
high
school
basketball
regular
season,
but
with
a
new
format
being
implemented
in
the
Boston
City
League
playoffs
this
year,
there's
still
a
lot
of
teams
in
the
hunt
for
a
City
playoff
spots.
What
to
keep
an
eye
on
that
down
the
stretch?
That's
gonna!
Do
it
for
sports
this
week,
folks
be
sure
to
come
right
back
here
next
week
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
