Description
This week in Boston Neighborhood Sports, we bring you highlights and scores from the weeks BPS High School baseball action.
A
A
With
the
weather
seeming
to
take
a
turn
for
the
warmer
a
lot
of
high
school
baseball
teams
have
been
in
action
over
the
last
few
days
when
it
comes
to
city
high
school
standings.
Here
in
Boston,
there's
currently
a
log
jam
middle
of
the
Boston
north
with
several
squads
hovering
right
around
500,
including
Brighton
and
west
roxbury,
who
squared
off
against
each
other
on
friday,
let's
head
out
to
rogers
park
in
brighton
for
this
one
that
you
see
the
westie
raiders
looking
for
their
fifth
league
win
of
the
season.
A
Picking
up
in
the
top
of
the
first,
a
man
on
second
Cesar
Garcia
to
write
as
Jose
pool
host
Bianchi
comes
in
to
score.
Garcia
ends
up
a
third
with
the
stand
up
triple
and
that's
the
first
run
of
the
game
there
for
the
west
roxbury
raiders
next
batter
Brian
Navarro.
He
drops
this
baseball
for
a
bloop
single
into
right
that
scores
Garcia
from
third
west
roxbury
scores,
four
runs
in
the
first
inning.
They
go
up.
A
4-2,
zip
bottom
of
the
second
now
Cesar
Garcia
on
the
mound
for
the
Raiders,
and
he
was
on
point
against
that.
Bengal
batter
swinging
right:
there
Garcia
pitched
five
scoreless
innings
for
westie
bottom
of
the
fourth,
now
runner
on.
First
s,
truce
Rojas
turns
a
nifty
double
play
right
there
for
Westies
that
ends
the
inning
and
Brighton
stays
scoreless.
We're
gonna
pick
it
up
in
the
top
of
the
fourth.
A
Now
the
man
on
third
right
there,
it's
rural
de
la
Rosa
who
shoots
that
one
single
over
down
the
right-field
line,
Cabral
comes
in
to
score
for
Wesley.
That
puts
them
up.
72
zip
right
would
score
a
few
runs
late,
but
westie
goes
on
to
win
12
to
five,
and
we
got
one
more
score
for
you
as
O'brien
took
down
Snowden
17
22
Jose
Vasquez
with
another
big
gaming
of
three
hits,
and
five
RBIs
as
the
O'brien
Tigers
win.
A
Another
league
game
here
in
the
city
on
friday
may
second,
so
big
win
for
the
westie
Raiders,
who
currently
sit
in
second
place
in
the
Boston
north
right
behind
English
high
school.
The
O'brien
Tigers
currently
sit
in
first
place
in
the
Boston
central.
Of
course,
each
of
these
teams
has
their
eye
on
the
baseball
city
championship
that
happens
on
Memorial.
Day
is
going
to
do
it
for
sports
this
week,
be
sure
to
come
right
back
here
next
week,
folks
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
