A
Well,
we're
still
waiting
for
the
spring
weather
to
coincide
with
the
spring
sports
season.
Last
week
marked
the
end
of
the
2018
basketball
season
here
in
Boston.
At
this
year's
of
middle
school
basketball
championships
and
as
usual,
these
games
were
a
blast.
So,
let's
head
out
to
the
Shelburne
Community
Center
in
Roxbury,
to
check
out
some
highlights
and
first
up
its
the
girls
middle
school
championship.
That's
the
Roosevelt
Warriors
looking
to
make
it
two
years
in
a
row
they're
taking
on
the
Curley
flying
lions.
We
can
pick
it
up
in
the
first
quarter.
A
Curley
coming
out
strong
as
Rosalyn
valaria
Hernandez
would
be
catching
finished.
Six
he'll
run
to
start
off
the
game
for
curly,
but
it
was
all
Roosevelt's
after
that,
as
Kiana
Anne
Brewster
goes
coast-to-coast
ties
the
game
up
at
six
then
laid
around
the
courts.
Armbruster
with
the
pull-up
jumper
puts
Roosevelt
up
by
six
after
the
first
quarter.
Second
quarter
now
Curley
trying
to
stay
close
winter
Neal
banks
home
the
three
cuts,
the
lead
back
down
to
three,
but
on
the
ensuing
possession
it's
Kayla
armbrister.
A
The
sister
of
Kiana
comes
right
back
when
the
three
of
her
own
peeps
Roosevelt
up
by
six
second
quarter,
Roosevelt's
take
Shara.
Jameson
gets
the
steal,
takes
it
coast-to-coast
for
the
land
Roosevelt
led
by
19
at
the
half
3rd
quarter,
now
same
story
to
Shiro.
Jameson
connects
from
long
distance,
puts
the
Roosevelt
up
by
25,
then
in
the
fourth
quarter,
Kiana
armbrister
knocks
down
a
three
of
her
own
as
a
Roosevelt
goes
on
to
148
to
24
armed
versa,
with
25
points
and
15
boards.
A
As
the
Roosevelt
wins
back-to-back
titles,
then
it's
the
boys
turn
undefeated
Milton
Bulldogs
hosting
the
McCormick's
Panthers.
This
shaped
up
to
be
a
good
one,
1st
quarter
as
Mildred
Bulldogs
off
to
a
good
start.
As
that's
Jonathan,
Charles
corn
inside
off
the
inbound
pass.
Mccormick
comes
right
back,
however,
Byron
tippin's
splits,
the
defense
for
two
cuts,
the
lead
down
to
one
2nd
quarter,
Kyle
Gale
buries
the
trifecta.
A
The
top
of
the
key
puts
his
team
up
by
2
then
laid
around
the
first
half
it's
Gail
again
this
time
with
a
corner
three
and
a
toe
run
to
end
the
half
for
the
mildred
was
an
8
to
1
run
actually
as
they
led
by
6
third
quarter,
david
bala
nia
school
home
that
one
he
gets
the
Panthers
within
one.
Then,
in
the
fourth
quarter,
it's
Mildred
Rashad
Way
splitting
the
defense
for
two
as
Mildred
goes
up
by
six
and
the
three
minutes
left
McCormick
not
going
away.
A
Steven
Rodriguez
gets
the
putback
and
the
foul
gets
his
team
within
four
now
13
seconds
left
McCormick
down
by
a
three
it's
Rodriguez
again
off
the
inbounds
pass
gets
his
team
within
one.
His
teammate
Coleman
would
knock
down
a
free
throw
so
we're
tied
up
at
38
6
seconds
left
to
go
Rodriguez
again
inside
scores
for
mcCormick
1.5
seconds
left
as
McCormick
wins
in
a
thriller
40
to
38,
to
win
the
boys,
2018
middle
school's
basketball
championship
what
a
game
to
cap
off
the
night!
A
Congratulations
to
the
Roosevelt
and
the
mcCormick
for
winning
their
respective
city
championships.
Now,
after
seeing
what
the
future
may
hold
in
Boston
basketball
on
Tuesday
sort
of
going-away
party
was
held
on
Wednesday
at
Brighton
high
school,
because
a
former
Bengals
basketball
player
is
now
headed
to
the
Big
Apple
Tyrone
Perry
signed
his
national
letter
of
intent
to
play
at
Division
1
Fordham
University
on
Wednesday,
so
I
was
a
four-year
starter
at
Brighton,
reaching
the
1,000
point
plateau
at
the
beginning
of
his
senior
season.
The
standout
forward
helped
the
Bengals
win.
A
B
C
That's
even
better
and
ultimately,
if
we
can
get
to
the
top
level,
which
is
a
Division
one
level,
that
really
gives
a
lot
of
credibility
to
what
we
say
were
about
and
what
we
try
to
do
for
our
young
folks.
What
makes
time
different
both
food
and
off
the
court
was
he
had
that
act
that
competitive
nature
that
he
wanted
to
outdo
davon
Edwards.
He
wanted
to
be
better
than
Willie
James
and
Nick
Simpson
and
Marco,
Rica
and
Jason,
and
even
guys
like
Isaiah,
is
liked.
C
A
Folks,
if
I
tried
to
get
in
to
Fordham
with
my
high
school
grades,
they'd
probably
laughed
me
out
the
door
and
probably
out
of
New
York.
So
congratulations
ty!
That's
a
great
school
man!
Folks,
that's
gonna!
Do
it
for
sports
this
week
make
sure
you
check
right
back
here
next
week
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
