From YouTube: Envision Boston Giving Program Event
Description
Mayor Walsh, Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang, and Dr. Tricia Rose join students at the Washington Irving Middle School in Roslindale to celebrate the launch of Dr. Rose's new vision-screening program, Envision Boston Giving. The program aims to provide free vision tests and eyeglasses to any student who needs them.
The program, Envision Boston Giving, was created by Dr. Tricia Rose, an optometrist and founder of the Boston-based practice Envision Boston Optometry. Dr. Rose will partner with Mayor Walsh's Education Task Force and BPS to provide screening clinics to students at three Boston Public Schools over the next year.
A
B
Thank
you
so
much
mayor,
Walsh,
dr.
Chaney,
for
being
here
and
thanks
to
all
of
you
for
being
here
today.
So
many
studies
have
shown
a
profound
connection
to
envision
and
learning.
This
program
is
very
excited
because
we're
able
to
have
a
meaningful
as
a
breakfast
pack
on
children
as
they
learn
and
grow
the
classroom.
Our
goal
is
to
help
each
child
realize
their
highest
potential
and
we
believe
all
children
should
have
that
chance.
B
I
feel
that
bondsmen
is
a
very
special
study,
our
leaders
care
and
invest
in
those
who
make
me
a
helping
hand
I'd
like
to
take
a
moment
to
talk
about
our
visionary
campaign,
sue
we
reached
out
to
leaders
in
our
community
and
absence
the
weather
supports
image
to
generate
awareness
about
our
vision
for
free
news
program.
You
can
see
some
of
the
missionaries
to
photograph
behind
me
and
fun
of
us
that
are
in
the
room
with
us
right
now.
B
We
discovered
significant
need
for
service
for
provide
America's
goals
so
far,
four
out
of
five
of
the
students
I
scream
these
glasses
I
will
return
to
this
school
as
much
as
needed
to
make
sure
that
all
of
the
students
who
want
between
our
screens
and
to
make
sure
that
all
the
students
who
need
glasses
receive
glasses,
I,
look
for
discrete
more
than
4,000
kids
over
the
next
year.
I
am
so
grateful.
We
partnered
with
mariposas
education
task
force
from
the
Boston
Public
Schools
I'm
grateful
to
my
trans
host.
B
The
teacher
who
introduced
me
to
the
mare
easy
and
how
to
get
this
program
I've
been
running
in
a
short
amount
of
time
and
I'm,
also
so
grateful
to
the
Washington
cool,
principal
Davis
and
her
nurses.
You
may
have
been
so
helpful
every
single
day
that
we're
here
and
most
of
all
I'm
so
grateful
to
have
the
chance
to
spend
the
time
with
all
of
you,
students
and
fellow
inspired
by
my
time
with
you
and
you
make
me
want
to
make
this
program
grow.
Thank
you.
So
much.
C
D
C
May
event
for
Jewish
synagogue
on
the
North
Shore,
and
she
mentioned
to
me
that
she
had
this
awesome
program
whereby
she
wanted
to
give
her
talents
to
Boston
students
and
how
could
that
occur?
Where
my
media
thing
thinking,
the
Bears
are
friends,
no
Iran
Dorothy,
no
in
Makeba
Cobra
Dorsey,
who
is
the
best
education
person
said
Ron.
You
know
how
can
we
get
this
together?
Ron
got
the
key
Burt,
Tanner
and
other
persons
with
amazing
educational
change
and
we're
here
today.
So
this
is
been
a
collaborative
effort.
C
C
I
own
a
total
privilege
before
dr.
Chang
only
in
this
particular
instance,
because
I
wanted
to
be
able
to
bring
on
and
then
to
the
podium.
A
dear
friend,
a
person,
I
know
for
many
many
years
when
he
served
in
the
state
legislature
and
when
he
became
the
mayor
of
this
great
city.
He's
been
doing
extraordinary
things
here
and
when
I
spoke
to
him
about
this
particular
program,
she
was
excited
about
that.
C
The
fact
that
this
would
bring
an
opportunity
to
our
young
people,
I
know
for
a
fact,
I've
been
wearing
glasses,
as
I
was
born
a
half
and
back
in
the
days
when
I
had
glasses.
We
only
have
one
pair
when
I
broke
them.
I
had
to
stand
up
by
the
blackboard
unable
to
be
able
to
see
the
lesson
so
I
know
that
you
don't
have
your
vision,
money
into
miracles,
that
that
that
sometimes
can
hit
me
you're
learning.
So
with
that,
let's
put
our
hands
together
to
welcome
almir
money.
More.
A
A
Thank
you
for
letting
us
in
your
schools
of
beautiful
school
I
didn't
come
to
the
school,
but
I
remember
back
in
the
day
when
I
jump
in
I
play
street
hockey
in
the
back
plate
on
our
game
when
Father
corneas,
to
be
able
to
take
in
our
rosin
ill
and
I
know,
that's
my
connection
to
the
school,
but
it's
great
to
be
a
students.
These
two
young
men
behind
me
is
hope.
You
guys
are
incredible.
A
And
also
as
Arthur,
oh
thank
you
so
much
as
well.
What
you're
doing
here
you
get
to
the
dedication
to
giving
back
to
the
community.
We
went
back
to
our
kids.
You
know
it's
a
great
example
of
an
owner
of
a
business
giving
back
to
the
community
and
what
about
nobody?
Waiting
back
to
young
people
and
helping
young
people
as
they
want.
Lily
could
also
have
look
cool
with
great
looking
glasses.
So
I
like
that,
when
I
was
a
kid
I
would
say
my
group
I
didn't
have
glasses,
got
my
eyes
work.
A
They
didn't
need
lots,
but
I
had
a
lot
of
kids
in
the
class
with
me
that
wore
glasses
and
it
was
different
than
the
boxes
were.
Cool
was
a
cool
thing
and
it
was
a
shame
back
then,
and
I
wanted
today
and
I
want
young
people
today
really
change
the
way
perception
is
on
glasses.
So
many
other
things
all
of
you
you're
all
individual
leaders
who
want
to
get
away
and
I
want
to.
A
Thank
you
for
that,
but
to
make
sure
that
you,
as
we
move
forward
in
the
doctor,
is
not
just
giving
back
she's
changing
the
game,
she's
changing
the
game
to
so
many
young
people.
It's
not
just
a
free
screening
today
or
the
free
glasses,
although
it's
pretty
incredible
and
the
frames
pretty
awesome
issue
pick
one
out
ravine
so
kind
of
sad
about
that
and
excited
sports,
those
bad
boys
and
not
for
some
next
minute.
A
But
it's
also
helping
understand,
as
joe
said,
helping
people
read
as
I
would
alter
at
night
prior
on
the
engine
podium
older
mother,
overnight
tension.
I
was
reading
in
the
paper,
the
worst
potato
II
enjoyed,
helping
to
read
and
I,
remember,
first,
getting
glasses
and
totally
more
than
with
the
knobs
the
way
the
phone
find
the
house,
because
they
just
have
a
reluctance
and
then,
two
years
ago,
exact
to
live
in
my
office,
so
I
might
not
sell
out.
You
saw
me
laughter
the
frame
to
Nancy
so
I'm.
Looking.
A
I,
don't
want
the
little
Basin,
but
it
is
what
for
us
to
understand
the
importance
of
reading
and
making
sure
that
you're
supporting
your
friends,
making
sure
your
friends
that
are
in
the
school
fair
price
of
their
reform,
if
they're
not
very
confident
they
should
be.
But
the
moment
it's
okay
to
wear
glasses.
It's
love
watching
kids,
getting
excitable
right
class
today
these
are
pretty
cool
frames
and
it's
important
for
us
to
learn
from
from
all
of
you.
So
I
just
want
to
invite
things.
A
You
talk
to
Rose
once
again
for
her
for
she's
joining
it
today.
I
want
to
thank
all
of
the
scenes
here
in
this
great
school
I
want
to
thank
CD
angeles
today
or
the
superintendent,
and
I
want
to
thank
the
press
that
covered
today,
because
it's
a
big
deal.
These
young
people
that
are
in
front
of
me,
the
future
of
possible
future
America
is
right
in
front
of
me.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
you
can
see
and
learn
the
best
of
your
ability
so
keep
hanging
in
and
then
they
rarely.
A
A
E
D
E
Really
contributing
to
your
education
right,
so
I
visit
or
Athena
41
equation
Georgia,
as
the
man
said
now
we're
neighbors
we
business
to
each
other,
but
I
realize
I,
have
contacts
in
that,
but
I
do
wear
glasses
and
I
did
not
look
lasted
for
a
long
time
until
in
sixth
grade
and
as
I
was
sitting
in
the
classroom,
you
know
I
couldn't
read,
you
know
the
board.
The
blackboard,
no,
not
think.
E
E
Thank
you
know
that
Patricia
was
really
for
what
you're
doing
you
know
in
terms
of
providing
new
glasses,
but
also
the
exam,
because
it's
critical,
but
sometimes
when
I
see
the
glasses,
how
many
to
wear
glasses
all
right,
you're
walking
it's
the
job,
just
it's
so
important,
because
those
are
the
things.
Those
are
the
little
things,
sometimes
that
we
think
no
one
scratches
on,
but
you
need
them
and
they
actually
pretty
close.
The
phrase
now
amazing.
Okay,
the
man
is
helpless,
his
friends,
but
we're
going
to
help
and
if.
B
D
E
A
This
is
so
sweet
install
this
and
I
think
you
might
omen
when
Joe's
talking
about
the
Park
water
and
center
for
songs
about
what
they
usually
a
thing
we
used
to
have
to
do
in
school
dude.
That's
the
Clark,
Broadway
stage
shocking
right
on
it
get
older
and
we
didn't
have
computers.
We
didn't
have
technology
within
em
any
of
that
enough.
Anyone
get
that
I
wasn't
yeah
coming
loud.
Thank
you.
B
D
B
B
F
It
wasn't
fun,
it
wasn't
empowering
and
it
wasn't
cool
to
wear
them.
I
know
that's
what
a
lot
of
people,
if
said
today,
it's
not
cool
and
your
age.
It
matters
so
much
or
feels
like
a
matter
so
much.
What
your
friends
think
of
you
with
what
people
who
are
keeping
your
precious
think
of
you
but
I
also
work
for
crossroads,
and
that
organization
is
all
about
empowering
our
young
people
to
stand
firmly
within
themselves,
so
that
we
boil
the
marbles
you're.
F
Confident
you
care
about
what
you
do
in
the
impact
that
you
leave
in
your
community
and
so
having
a
pair
of
glasses
doesn't
always
seem
like
it
can
be
empowering,
but
I
can
attest
first
step
when
you
can
see
the
vision
of
who
you
are
clearly,
then
you
help
the
world
to
see
that
you
reflect
that
back
out
to
your
community.
So
just
a
regular.
