I
know
that
most
of
you
are
aware
of
this
I
think
this
is
worth
mentioning.
That
thrive
is
the
acronym
that
represents
our
six
core
values,
I
think
I'm
just
going
to
speak
them
into
the
space
very

Together,
we
are

the

reads
that
we're
going
to
celebrate
tonight.
They
just
exemplify
that
thrive,
core
value,
so
I
just
wanted
everyone
to
be
clear
on
what
we
mean
when
we
say
the

so
just
wanted
to
share
that.

It
has
been
to
work
with
you
over
the

sure
that
Els
students
continue
to
thrive.
Your
experience
as
a
BLS
leader
as
principal
at
Harvard,
Kent,
you're,
prioritizing
equity
and
Excellence
every
day
in
that
level,
you're,
calm,

your
boundless
optimism,

us.
You
said
a
standard
of
Excellence
and
you
ensured
BLS
was
a
place
for
all
the
Thrive.
Can
you
join
Ms,
Cornelia,
Kelly,
Miss,
Lyndon
and
Mateo,
and
just
the
iconic
boxes
together?
You
transformed
our
school
to
the
better
and
have
left
very
big
shoes
to
be
to
fill.
So.
Thank
you.
Rachel.
K
I've
asked
a
lot
of
questions
and
let
me
answer
a
couple
of
them
to
you
right
now,
so
you
get
to
learn
a
little
bit
more
about
me
and
my
strong
confidence
in
Boston
Latin
School,
so
I've
been
asked
continuously.
K
How
is
Boston
Latin
School
changed
since
I
was
a
student
who
graduated
in
1991
and
through
the
obvious
transformation
of
the
physical
building,
while
I
was
fortunate
to
play
the
very
first
basketball
game
in
the
new
roach
gymnasium
against
basketball,
Legends
like
Mary
Flynn
and
Governor
Mike
Dukakis,
there
have
been
a
lot
of
genes
that
have
been
taken,
Brandy,
the
biggest
transformation
that
mostly
been
programmatic
and
not
just
physical
and
two
of
the
notable
ones,
are
the
shawville
center
for
the
college,
research
and
the
cloud
Center
for
Global
understanding.
So
thank
you.
K
Young
scholars,
navigating
the
transition
to
Boston,
Latin
schools,
rigors
and
I,
know
that,
because
my
family
personally
benefited
from
a
lot
of
those
new
classroom
services,
but
seeing
it
from
the
vantage
point
if
they
had
a
school
I'm.
Just
in
awe
of
the
amount
of
work
that
our
staff
does,
we
should
all
be
against
immensely
proud
of
the
evolution
of
our
school
community
and
so
much.
It
has
been
made
possible
by
donors
like
Dewey.
K
And
my
answer
to
that
is
to
be
sounding.
Yes,
he
observed
students
in
Civics
classes
and
dating
gerrymandering
as
we
beat
into
the
elections
and
marvelous
hiring
biologists
studying
the
genetics
of
their
own
tasting
genes
and
I
listened
to
Calgary
students
describe
their
work
on
3D
objects
like
PhD
mathematicians,
explaining
complex
feelings
that
doesn't
sound
like
the
BLS
that
I
attended,
but
I
confessed
that
it
actually
didn't
spend
a
lot
of
time
in
AP,
math
classics
and
every
good
question
often
comes
up
when
people
ask
me
about
the
exemption
policy
as
well.
K
The
next
one
we'll
have
students
in
the
school
admit
under
the
fourth
different
policy
in
four
years,
and
sometimes
that's
hard
to
keep
track
of
the
next
fall.
Next
fall.
There
is
a
test
that
is
required,
but
no
matter
the
admissions
policy,
our
blossom
High
School
students
continue
to
thrive.
Students
are
against.
K
The
BLS
and
taking
advantage
of
the
amazing
opportunities
our
community
offers
and
look.
She
look
forward
to
sharing
more
of
our
Student
Success
as
time
goes
by.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
our
student
Pathways
may
be
different,
but
we
own
one.
Last
week
we
have
more
than
150
faculty
in
over
2400
students,
all
of
whom
brings
talents
and
intelligence
expressing
different
measures,
but
who
come
together
to
make
one
grade
school
and
I
know
this
not
just
that
I'm
an
educator
but
I'm.
Also
a
BLS
past
and
I've
been
getting
serious
trouble.
K
K
Basketball
was
my
thing
and
someday
I
wanted
to
play
for
the
Boston
Celtics,
and
while
that
tree
amended
pretty
quickly
in
that
gymnasium
of
1991
I
made
sure
I
had
to
put
a
good
backup
plan
and
about
20
years
ago,
when
I
was
a
teacher
and
I
was
taking
grad
school
classes.
To
my
education
class,
my
friend
asked
me:
why
are
you
taking
those
classes
and
they
said
someday
I
wanted
to
be
the
Headmaster
of
Boston
Latin
School.
He
actually
intended
to
be
a
human
reminded
me
of
that
conversation
anymore.
K
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
a
pretty
special
couple
of
students
who,
from
the
Alessia
were
here
tonight.
We
welcome
to
East
Fabiola,
Atlantis,
Ramirez
and
Ricardo
roll
over
on
you
guys.
K
This
year
and
I've
known
that
is
received
from
the
last
time
1957
when
his
class
president.
So
thanks
for
being
here
tonight,
Ricky
and

your

I
think
for
me,
it
was
at
lab
that
I
first
got
to
take
on
a
leadership
role
with
sap
young
woman
and
learn
that
my
voice
was
valuable.
It's
a
lesson
for
which
I
am
forever
grateful
for
personal
reasons.
My
my
junior
and
seniors
were
were
especially
difficult,
but
I
got
support
from
my
teachers
and
my
counselors
then,
and
I
made
it
through,
and
it
taught
me
resilience
because.
L
Even
suggested
that
I
should
quit,
I
also
learned
what
a
difference
giving
someone
a
bit
of
support
to
make
my
time
at
Latin
has
continued
to
guide
me
I,
don't
think
I
would
have
ever
thought
that
I
could
make
a
difference
and
give
other
women
a
bit
of
support.
Had
it
not
been
from
my
experience,
Latin
School,
my
classmates
are
also
there
when
I
first
launched
women's
world
and
supported
our
first
crafting
campaign,
and
it's
thanks
to
this.
L
It's
also
thanks
to
this
community
and
Boston
Latin

that
I
am
the
person
that
I
am
today
I'm
very
touched
and
moved
by
this
recognition.
Thank
you.

my

from
the

pleased
to
stand

because
you've
given
me
so
much
support.
R
Well,
I
think
before
I
begin,
I
would
like
to
welcome
Jason

and
congratulate
him
on
assuming
the
responsibility
of
that
master.
Jason
you're

I
wish

thank

for
her
leadership.
It's

You
were
exceptional
as
a

you
successfully
navigated
Latin

through
some
of
the
most
tournament
Waters
in
the
school's
recent
history.
R
As
I
stand
before,
you
I'm
just
overwhelmed
and
I'm
trying
to
reflect
and
communicate
to
the
the
sense
of
Pride
that
I
have
in
this
honor
when
Peter
first
informed
me
that
I
was
chosen
to
be
the
distinguished
writer.
I
was
surprised
and
I
was
humbled,
to
say
the
least.
To
consider
this
an
honor
is
an
understatement.
It
is
an
honor
of
the
highest
according
one
which
I
don't
treasure
and
leave
her
alone.
R
I
grew
up
in
Hyde,
Park
and
I
entered
back
to
school
in
1959.
It
was
the
beginning
of
a
new
chapter
in
my
life
and
one
which
would
indelibly
mold
me
as
a
student
to
teach
me
how
to
work,
but
my
first
day
as
a
12
year
old
60,
when
Trump
Kelly
marched
on
stage
in
the
auditorium
in
his
crisp
military
uniform.
Now
those
of
us
at
a
certain
age
knew
that
in
those
days
lab
school
taught
military
science.
R
R
R
R
R
R
R
Also
taught
me
how
to
work
Under
Pressure,
how
to
study,
how
to
think
critically
an
exclamation.
He
taught
me
how
to
speak
in
public
I
hope,
I'm
doing
so
well
today,
in
a
series
of
masterful
English
teachers
taught
me
grammar
vocabulary
and
how
to
write
well,
I,
remember
one
English
class:
when
the
master
came
in
and
asked
us
to
check
out
our
sheet
of
paper
and
write
an
essay
about
an
umbrella.
He
collected
the
essays
45
minutes
later
in
the
next
class.
He
rejected
one
of
the
essays
out
on
the
screen
and
I
recognized
it.
R
R
R
This
was
the
night
of
school
Socratic
education
I,
never
forgot
that
lesson
any
time.
I
have
to
write
and
I.
Do
a
lot
of
writing.
I.
Try
to
remember
this
lesson
style
if
you're
going
to
stay
safe
with
style,
say
it
so
it
convinces
somebody
to
want
to
read
more
that
was
not
in
school
and
for
a
lot
of
school
I
was
fortunate
to
be
awarded
the
scholarship
to
our
University
and
eager
to
Lead
Massachusetts
from
the
west.
Of
course,
when
I
got
to
Athens
Ohio,
my
roommate
from
Cleveland
explained
that
one.
R
Where
have
you
been
this
is
the
East
where's,
the
closest
it
starts
with
the
Mississippi.
So
much
to
my
provincial
Boston
operator,
okay,
well,
I
greatly
enjoyed
my
University
Iran,
so
I
was
encouraged
to
reply
to
Auburn
business.
School
I
did
and
I
was
accepted,
but
of
course
they
put
the
picture
up
here.
Vernon
Walden
was
the
president
and
that
certainly
had
something
to
do
with
it.
After
graduating,
I
transitioned
to
Harvard
Business
School,
the
first
day
I
went
and
picked
up
a
massive
number
of
case
studies.
That
I
would
need
to
read
that
semester.
R
R
Two
days
later,
I
went
to
the
Dean's
office
and
I
asked
if
I
could
defer
my
admission
for
two
years,
because
I
had
decided
to
go
to
the
Peace
Corps.
The
dean
was
quite
understanding
and
gave
me
a
letter
of
conditional
acceptance
to
your
sense,
free
fast
forward
to
December
1959,
a
touchdown
on
the
grass
Runway
and
an
old
DC-3.
Welcome
to
summer
I
was
assigned
as
a
Peace
Corps
volunteer
to
teach
math
and
science
at
General
College
a
secondary
school.
R
With
my
missionary
priest
I
had
trained
for
three
months
on
the
island
of
Molokai
in
Hawaii,
studying
Salon
under
a
high
testing
language
training
program.
Fortunately,
I
managed
to
pass
myself
online
response
Services
exam,
while
several
of
my
initial
Peace
Corps
colleagues
failed
and
were
deselected.
R
That
school
had
prepared
me
to
learn
from
a
language.
So
all
was
really
independent
country
in
the
South
Pacific
13
degrees,
south
of
the
Equator
109
halfway
between
Honolulu
and
Sydney,
but
I
was
in
my
own
that
should
be
Father's

wonderful
people,
I
taught
math
and
science
at
coach
rugby.
That
I
worked
in
the
schools.
Plantation
I
had
the
chance
during
school
holidays,
to
visit
some
of
my
students
Villages
and
be
treated
like

Polynesian
culture
embrace
me
and
the
feeling
was
Mutual
I
still

on
my
wrist.
R
R
R
Four
years
I
had
to
reapply
it
out
of
the
business
school,
but
they
seemed
happy,
surely
have
gained
a
much
more
perspective
to
bring
to
the
school
now
and
I'm
with
an
mea
I
then
joined
Citibank,
which
was
the
leading
international
bank.
At
that
time,
I
was
anxious
to
get
back
overseas.
My
interviewer
might
have
been
a
very
competitive
process
had
been
in
the
preschool
as
well,
so
I'm
sure
that
cross-cultural
experience
that
we
shared
about
me
at
the
door
after
six
months,
training
in
New
York,
they
sent
me
to
Hong
Kong.
R
It
was
such
a
rich
atmospheric
experience.
People
permit
me
I'll,
just
give
you
one
anecdote.
I,
started
learning,
Cantonese,
the
lingua
Franca
of
Guangdong,
Province
and,
of
course,
Hong
Kong.
It's
a
more
difficult,
the
dialect
than
Mandarin,
because
it
has
nine
tones,
but
of
course,
by
that
school
you
know
intuition
out
for
the
masterless
languages.
So
we
were
invited
to
this
very
wealthy
businessman's
annual
Shanghai
crab
dinner,
which
took
place
in
November
and
I
walked
in
and
I
wanted
to
stay
at
Cantonese.
You

interest.
Geography
was
a
wonderful
job,
I
relished,
it
I
loved
in
many
colleges
and
people
that
I
worked
with,
including
the
difficult
ones,
I
retired,
from
JP
Morgan
in
2002,
the
teacher
Columbia
business
school,
but
that
lasted
only
a
year,
because
I
was
assumed
offered
the
opportunity
to
become
the
chairman
and
CEO
of
career.
R
Exchange
Bank
with
one
man,
Korea's
largest
International
Bank,
was
struggling
in
the
Korean
Ministry
of
Finance
was
insisted
in
the
new
CEO
would
be
recruited
with
Convent
International
credentials
and
previous
experience
in
Korea
I
fit
the
bill
I'm
going
to
resist.
We
moved
to
Seoul
in
2003.
It
was
the
Capstone
of
the
career
in
Asia.
We
knew
Hong,
Kong
and
China.
R
I
returned
to
Colombia
in
2008,
but
after
four
years
as
a
professor
teaching,
International
banking
I
haven't
stepped
down
because
the
little
biotech
company
that
I
had
founded
Promontory
Therapeutics
started
to
demand
much
more
of
my
time,
and
that
continues
to
be
the
case
today.
As
Promontory
small
molecular
immunotherapy
has
come
to
engage
in
three
phase.
R
Yeah
that
school
has
reached
out,
brought
us
together
and
enriched
our
lives
and
when
I
reflect
on
my
International
experiences,
I
think
the
more
cultures
you'll
experience,
the
more
people
you
meet,
the
more
you
gain
understanding
of
our
shared
humanity
and
it
can
build
relationships
across
the
borders.
This
impression
was
reinforced
when
I
was
invited
to
join
the
board
of
cie
the
council
in
international
educational
Exchange
still
realize
what
an
extraordinary
organization
this
was.
R
The
mission
to
promote
global
citizenship
and
humanize
international
relations,
books,
ages,
study,
abroads,
Service,
Learning
internships
and
more
spoke
to
my
life
experience.
I
remained
on
the
board
for
18
years.
The
service
challenge
for
nine
and
of
the
many
boards
I've
served
on
CIU
will
always
be
the
one
closest
to
my
heart
into
my
loyalty.
