From YouTube: Computer Science Education Week at O'Bryant High School
Description
As part of Computer Science Education Week, students from O'Bryant High School meet with Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and demonstrate their projects and discuss their interests in robotics and engineering.
A
Today,
today's
hour
of
code
day,
the
science
education
week,
so
we
had
a
lot
of
activities
today,
one
is
we
had
a
company
called
super
installed,
one
of
the
inventions
of
our
schools.
It
has
a
solar-powered
charging
device
on
it
which
students
consider
on
invention,
charger
cell
phones
that
was
installed
today.
I
was
part
of
the
activities,
so
we
had
students
working
throughout
the
school.
You
have
about
800
students
working
on
computer
science
coding
activities,
but
we
also
work
the
mayor
through
some
of
our
engineering
spaces.
A
Insurance
on
the
projects
is
super
cool,
the
new
economy,
the
innovation
economy.
We
need
to
prepare
kids
for
that.
We
need
to
develop
spaces
that
look
like
the
spaces
they're
going
to
be
working
in
the
future,
so
we
need
to
give
them
the
tools
that
they
will
be
using
in
the
future
and
train
them
properly
on
those
and
think
about
doing
things
differently
and
coming
up
with
new
ideas
and
being
able
to
try
and
take
the
right
here
and
mix
up
I'm.
B
A
gnome
out
the
Johnny
O'brien
school
class
of
2015
and
I'm
I'm,
a
freshman
at
MIT,
I'm
planning
on
studying
mechanical
engineering
and
his
face.
This
makers
face
can't
be
a
lot
on
like
give
me
like
a
facility
to
make
fun
like
fun
project
and
like
like
the
Filipino
you
see
outside
there.
I
was
the
captain
of
the
MSA.
My
team
and
team
I
was
a
senior
and
we
feel
they
are
autonomous
solar
panel
containing
system
which
is
really
cool
and
that
definitely
helped
me
get
you
when.
C
I
graduated
from
MIT
actually
is
kind
of
funny.
I
had
two
offers
want
to
work
out
a
company
in
Connecticut
and
want
to
work
with
Ed
Edd
Moriarty
from
MIT,
and
he
told
me
I
would
get
to
work
with
the
O'brien
and
with
students.
Just
like
me
are
pretty
much
going
through
this
engineering
program
and
I
thought
that
was
really
exciting,
because
education
is
one
of
my
passions
as
well
as
engineering,
and
here
what
we
do
is
we
help
students
pretty
much,
take
their
projects
and
make
it
a
reality.
C
I've
been
coming
back
and
helping
out
with
all
of
those
programs
and
then
at
the
same
time,
we
get
these
students
into
MIT
into
our
Saturday
program
into
our
summer
program,
and
it's
so
nice
for
them
to
have
someone
come
here
has
gone
through
the
journey.
They
know
now
what
it
takes
and
also
they
can
stay
connected
with
a
school
like
MIT
and
know
what
it
takes
in
order
to
get
in.
So
it's
really
nice
for
them
to
pretty
much
have
someone
in
the
classroom
who
can
help
out
with
that.
It.
