In Boston, It's the first day of school! In Dorchester, parents and children wait for their bus at the Geneva Ave./Westville St. stop and are greeted by Mayor Walsh and interim Superintendent Laura Perille. Everybody enjoyed a new play structure installed by the Office of New Urban Mechanics as part of their Play Around the City initiative.

So this is one of our busier bus stops across the city, and so the idea here is, if you have a bunch of parents and students gathering and waiting, why not make it engaging so this play installation involves stem involves engineering, it was actually built by local students, a little found materials and recycling and then a little music and play, and so just a way of keeping students and families engaged, while they're waiting for their yellow.

Before we arrive there about twenty kids all playing on the instruments, not to mention the bubbles and chalk, we have the mural crew out here as well and I think that just a more engaging way to start the day.
