Remain
when
you
are
entering
from
the
waiting
room
and
remain
on
mute
unless
or
until
you
are
appearing
or
testifying
before
the
division.
B
B
B
This
is
an
administrative
hearing
before
the
Mayor's
Office
of
Consumer
Affairs
and
Licensing
today
is
Monday
January
9th
2023..
This
hearing
is
being
conducted
pursuant
to
certain
temporary
amendments
to
the
open
meeting
law.
That
is
what
allows
us
to
meet.
Virtually
this
hearing
is
being
recorded
and
will
be
posted
to
the
city
of
Boston's
website.
B
B
Please
limit
your
testimony
to
two
minutes
and
please
state
your
name
address
and
affiliation
if
any
and
just
one
matter
of
housekeeping
the
second
item
on
this
afternoon's
agenda:
29
King,
J,
Bond,
LLC,
doing
business
as
vet
is
being
continued
to
a
later
hearing
date
to
allow
the
applicant
to
notify
the
butters
of
the
application.
B
When
I
begin
with
item
number
one
on
this
afternoon's
agenda,
the
applicant
is
Street
Prince
LLC
doing
business
as
hobgoblin
located
at
48
Temple
Place.
The
application
is
to
maintain
and
operate
audio
device,
TVs
up
to
three
instrumentalists
and
up
to
three
vocalists
until
2
A.M
for
seven
days
a
week
who
is
present
on
behalf
of
the
applicant.
F
Hi
Danny
Tyler
Hensler
here
from
Upton,
Connell
and
Devlin
Andrew,
is
having
a
little
trouble
getting
on
right
now.
He
is
actually
going
to
be
representing
Mr
Chandler.
F
So
if
we
could
we'd
request,
you
know
a
couple
minutes.
Actually
it
looks
like
Andrew's
joining
right
now.
He.
C
Are
you
I'm
good,
thank
you,
I
apologize
for
the
video
and
other
problems,
but
if
you're
ready
I'm
prepared
to
go
we're.
C
We
are
ready.
This
is
an
application
for
Street
Prince
hobgoblins
live
entertainment
license.
This
applicant
has
previously
been
granted
a
liquor
license
at
this
location.
They
went
through
the
full
community
process.
They
got
support
from
bid
from
mppna
mayor's
office
of
Neighborhood
Services
waived
any
further
stakeholder
meetings.
Counselor
Flynn's
office
was
in
support,
as
you
can
see,
they
are
looking
for
live
jazz
trios.
C
This
is
very
similar
to
the
successful
felonious
monkfish
now
known
as
The
Mad
monkfish
in
Cambridge,
which
has
been
operating
with
this
exact
model,
with
no
violations
and
is
extremely
popular
in
Cambridge.
For
several
years
with
me
is
Jamie
Chandler.
Who
can
tell
you
just
a
little
bit
about
the
food
and
music
and
then
we're
glad
to
answer
any
questions.
C
A
I'm
Jamie,
so
the
food
we'll
have
will
be
Asian
fusion
small
plates,
for
example,
we'll
have
bacon
Pad,
Thai
salted
salmon,
fried
rice,
Thai
style,
grilled,
bread,
prawn
and
pan
seared
ribeye,
with
miso
butter
and
as
far
as
the
music
we'll
have
a
lot
of
local
musicians.
Playing
most
of
them
will
be
people
who
are
professors
at
Berkeley
like
Daniela,
schachter,
she's,
a
Pianist,
dense,
great
singer
and
Yoko
miwa
who's,
also
a
great
pianist
and
teaches
at
Berkeley
so
we're.
A
We
have
people
like
that
at
my
current
place,
but
will
be
a
small,
smaller
group,
so
not
as
so
maybe
two
people
at
the
most
three
sometimes
and
not.
Sometimes
we
have
bigger
bands
at
the
other
place,
but
not
here.
This
will
be
quieter.
C
And
just
just
to
be
clear:
music
will
be
on
on
the
basement
level,
not
on
the
first
floor,
providing
additional
sound
insulation
from
The
Neighbors
in
the
street
yeah.
B
Thank
you,
director,
Joyce
director
food.
Do
you
have
any
questions
for
the
applicant.
D
C
Believe
the
zoning
is
in
place
and
the
landlord
has
represented
the
same
to
us.
Our
requests
for
the
certificate
of
inspection
have
been
delayed
because
she's
in
Hawaii
for
two
weeks,
but
we
believe
it's
in
place
and
we're
certainly
comfortable
with
a
contingent
approval
based
on
that.
But
they
did
have
live
entertainment
at
the
pass
location
as
well
for
what
it's
worth.
D
Okay,
could
you
submit
to
the
board
a
floor
plan
that
indicates
where
the
live
music
is
I
know
you
said
it's
the
third
it's
the
basement,
but
where,
in
the
basement,
are
they
going
to
be
setting
up
I,
just
don't
I,
don't
I'm
not
familiar
with
the
space?
How
big
it
is.
D
We
want
to
make
sure
we
can.
We
have
that
on
record
to
see
where
the
musicians
are
going
to
be
set
up
and
stuff
we'll.
D
Okay-
and
you
did
say
that
there
wasn't
a
better
meeting
or
community
meeting
yep.
C
A
And
another
another
thing
to
mention
is
that
jazz
has
not
played
at
a
very
loud
volume.
We
won't
be
having
saxophone
or
or
any
horns,
because
we're
kind
of
top
hippie
with
those
that
monkfish
and
I
got
sick
of
them.
So
it's
going
to
mostly
be
piano
and
a
singer.
Sometimes,
okay,.
D
C
G
A
G
A
Right
we
mostly
we're
we're
marketing
it
as
a
piano
bar,
which
means
that
it's
going
to
mostly
be
solo
piano.
But
then,
on
some
occasions
we'll
have
a
singer.
The
most
that
we'll
ever
have
is
a
piano
player,
a
singer
and
a
bass
player
and
that's
acoustic
bass.
Okay
yeah
at
the
most
yeah
okay,
and
we
won't
even
have
drums
because
it's
the
space
is
enough
for
50
people.
But
it's
not
a
huge
room.
So
I
think
that
drums
would
overwhelm
the
people.
So
we're
not
planning
for
drums
at
all
right.
G
C
G
So
this
entertainment
is
more
just
for
background
to
the
dining
experience
correct.
Yes,.
G
C
A
F
G
Okay,
I
do
not
have
any
further
questions.
Oh
actually,
sorry,
one
more!
When
do
you
expect
to
open.
A
B
E
Hey
everybody:
this
is
Chu
premier's
office
of
Neighborhood,
Services,
I,
Service,
downtown
liaison
to
Mayor
Wu,
as
previously
mentioned
by
the
applicant
I,
had
waived
the
butters
meeting
as
that
the
the
pike
applicant
had
gone
through
full
committee
process
a
year
prior
for
their
alcohol
license
and
they
had
support
from
downtown
fit
and
the
mppna
during
that
process
again
to
now
run
a
separate
Community
process
for
this.
So
at
this
time,
we'll
like
to
defer
to
the
board.
G
Sorry
I
forgot
to
ask
one
more
question:
the
where
the
where
Hobby
Lobby
is
located.
Are
there
Butters
in
the
same
building
or
next
to
it
like
a
residential
Butters,
or
is
it
all
commercial.
A
Upstairs
Oh
I
thought,
maybe
Mandy
was
going
to
answer,
but
I
will
so
upstairs.
There
were
two
apartments
and
above
the
the
restaurant
and
on
each
side
it's
commercial.
E
B
B
And
once
again,
the
second
item
on
today's
agenda
will
be
continued
to
a
rescheduled
hearing
date
to
allow
the
applicant
to
notify
a
voters
of
the
application.
Now
calling
item
number
three
on
this
afternoon's
agenda.
The
applicant
is
food,
Fiesta,
Group,
LLC,
doing
business
as
Casa
Bonita
Mexican
Grill,
located
at
1033,
Massachusetts
Ave.
H
H
It's
a
new
Mexican
restaurant
located
at
1033,
Mass
Ave.
The
my
client
recently
got
the
liquor
license
as
well
and
went
through
the
community
process
for
that,
as
well
as
for
zoning,
and
we've
had
support
for
all
of
that.
There's
no
additional
work
to
be
completed
since
Mr
Duran
actually
just
renovated
the
whole
restaurant
and
started
this
up.
H
He
seeks
to
cater
to
patrons
and
businesses
of
the
surrounding
area,
adding
the
live,
entertainment
with
bands
that
go
along
with
the
food,
so
mariachi
bands,
various
things
like
that
he's
looking
to
have
the
bands
or
DJ
playing
starting
Friday,
Saturday
and
Sunday,
and
eventually
increasing
the
number
of
days.
If
there's
more
of
a
demand
from
the
community,
the
live
music
will
be
held
inside
the
inside
the
restaurant,
nothing
outside
I'm,
looking
for
just
the
background
music
outside,
which
is
seasonal.
H
That
way,
this
also
caters
to
some
of
the
community
needs
right
now
in
that
area,
the
total
capacity
is
66
that
includes
outdoor
seating,
which
it's
42
inside
and
24
outside
Mr
Durant
also
owns
another
restaurant.
That
also
has
an
entertainment
license
that
he's
had
for
over
a
decade,
so
his
qualifications
and
experience
in
this
field
will
ensure
the
sustainability
of
this
restaurant
as
well,
and
the
safety
of
the
patrons
while
bringing
some
new
life
to
this
area
and
the
food
he
has
no
record
of
any
violations
as
well.
H
I
know
that
the
last
three
Sundays
they've
been
doing
the
one-time
licenses
and
there's
been
a
great
response
and
turnout
for
those.
He
also
has
a
security
company
that
provides
services
to
bars
and
restaurants
that
they've
contracted
with
as
well
for
those
certain
nights,
especially
so,
and
if
you
have
any
questions,
we're
both
on
and
happy
to
answer.
B
Thank
you
attorney
Allen.
Any
questions.
D
I,
just
can
you
describe
for
us
what
kind
of
a
Butters
are
around
there?
Residential
commercial
people
live
upstairs.
H
D
I
Basically,
we
we're
gonna
have
like
three
or
four
small
speakers.
You
also
have
like
a
background
music,
how
the
patio
you
will
be
anything
out
loud
in
just
for
the
specific
area
of
the
patio,
nothing
more
than
that.
Okay,.
D
I
We
have
like
a
sound
cell
control
inside
that
we
level
this
down
this
the
bowling
and
all
that
we
just
set
up
volume,
and
we
will
play
all
day
long.
We
don't
have
to
touch
it
with
anything.
D
I
With
this
one
soundproofing
on
the
proper,
because
we
run
away
the
whole
restaurant
a
couple
months
ago-
and
we
did
some
soundproofing
just
in
case-
we
can
have
I
mean
why
you
can
tell
me
in
the
future.
Thus
we
can
just
get
ready
for
that.
I
D
Okay
and
if
there
were
to
be
some
sound
issues
that
came
up,
who
would
we
contact?
Who
would
who
would
the
if
we
wanted
to
send
someone
to
contact
you
regarding
the
noise,
if
they're,
if
they're
experiencing
some
loud
noise?
Is
there
an
email
or
a
phone
contact
that
perhaps
a
neighbor
could
use
in
real
time
to
ask
them
to
adjust
the
noise.
I
G
H
We
had
I
can
actually
send
you
the
dates
that
we
had
it.
We
did.
We
actually
had
two
because
we
went
for
the
liquor
licensing
and
then
we
also
went.
We
had
to
get
the
zoning
as
well
for
this,
for
the
entertainment
license.
So
I
can
message
you
because
I
don't
have
them
in
front
of
me
so
as
not
to
delay
anything
but
I'll
message,
a
message
that
we
had
the
community
process.
H
Yeah,
so
the
application
has
seven
days
that
way
as
if
that's
approved,
they're
gonna
start
out
with
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
and
then
go
from
there.
If
the
community
and
there's
a
big
turnout
and
there's
more
requests
and
then
also
you
know,
background
music,
all
of
that
and
TVs
they'd
be
doing
seven
days
a
week
as
well.
So
just
the
live
bands
will
be
those
days
so.
G
Okay
and
then
you're
applying
for
up
to
six
instrumentalists
in
one
vocalist
is
that
is
what
is
intended
for
on.
You
know
a
regular
night.
I
Basically
I
mean
mariachiban,
you
should
bring
like
five
or
six
members,
and
we
just
want
to
cover
everything.
I
mean
just
in
case,
isn't
doesn't
mean
that
we're
just
going
to
bring
six
people
I
mean
at
the
same
time
I
mean
we're
not
really
sure
for
that,
but
we
just
want
to
cover
everything.
Just
in
case
you
know.
G
I
G
H
You
and
just
at
August
24th
was
one
of
our
Butters
meetings
that
we
had
I
found
one
of
the
papers.
So
just
so
you
have
that
as
well.
