Mayor Walsh and Parks Commissioner Cook cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Marcella Park in Roxbury. The $2.1 million comprehensive renovation of the park expanded fields, added lighting, new play structures and a perimeter path as well as major repairs to the tennis courts and much more. Altogether, this new community area will serve as a state of the art place for young and old to enjoy.

We couldn't be happier to be here in Marcella park and beautiful Roxbury. Give yourselves a round of applause for making this park happen. Parks don't happen just because the city decides the parks and should happen to our captain, because the community asked for it works with the cydia on these parts. So we're very, very grateful for that.

And you look around this park right now. It's probably one of the only things that everyone in the community can use in this particular part. It include a 2.1 million dollar investment. We expanded the fields, we renovated the perimeters in the walkways. They have new play structures.

Parts and meeting places those are the places that I really look at is our community I love our homes and I love our municipal buildings, but what we are able to do together and our parts I really look at is where we actually have community and we connect with each other.
