On a beautiful Friday afternoon, the historic William E. Carter Playground was introduced to the new millennium in a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Northeastern President Joseph Aoun. Students, youth teams, and families alike come together to enjoy a new playground and renovated field.

It is an extraordinary day to celebrate a beautiful place. Ladies and gentlemen, a huge round of applause for the City of Boston northeastern on this partnership. Our goal.

Across the street, from Carter's field, I've been playing Southend soccer, since I was seven years. Old. I would like to thank Northeastern for renovating the field and adding a soccer field. My team practices here two times a week and we love it. This.

New and improved kind of playground opens up new kinds of opportunities for our young kids and for our families and improves access to open space and then sports facilities. This park certainly makes us proud and will be an asset to the community for generations to come.
