I'm
Chris
house
gonna
have
the
honor
of
serving
as
mayor.
Walsh
is
chief
of
streets,
and
the
great
pleasure
of
welcome
you
all
here
today
for
the
ribbon-cutting
for
the
Madison
Park
roadway
project,
so
we're
here
today
to
celebrate
the
reconstruction
of
a
set
of
seventh
streets
in
the
Madison
Park
area.
A
couple
of
years
ago
there
were
streets
in
this
neighborhood
that
were
buckling.
There
were
sidewalks,
they
were
heaving
and
the
neighborhood
residents
Madison
Park
development
corporation.
The
city
got
together
and
created
a
plan
plan.
The
resulted
in
a
2.6
million
dollar
investment
today.
B
Was
celebrating
the
full
reconstruction
of
roadways
and
sidewalks
in
this
in
this
great
neighborhood?
For
many
years
the
sidewalks
have
been
in
bad
need
of
repair.
The
plan
is
to
revitalize
and
and
transform
neighborhoods
and
that's
what
we
want
to
do.
We
want
people
and
you
walk
through
the
neighborhood
that
people
are
proud
of
their
neighborhood
when
they
walk
down
the
street,
not
broken
sidewalks
and
dirty
streets.
We
got
to
make
sure
that
the
streets
reflect
our
community
and
our
values
in
the
City
of
Austin.
