From YouTube: Media Availability: Derek Chauvin Trial Verdict
Description
Mayor Janey will offer her thoughts on the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial.
A
A
We
come
to
you
on
this
day
as
a
city
and
as
a
nation
praying
together
for
your
healing
and
god
we're
thankful
that
on
this
day,
you
heard
the
cries
of
your
people
and
you
did
not
pass
us
by
god.
We
pray
right
now
for
the
floyd
family
as
they've
endured
great
pain
and
suffering,
but
we're
thankful
that
on
this
day
they
found
some
sense
of
closure
and
hopefully
can
begin
healing.
A
God,
if
we're
honest,
we
felt
anger,
we
felt
hurt,
we
felt
disturbed,
we
felt
frustrated,
we
felt
so
much,
but
god
we
do
not
come
to
this
place
as
if
we
have
no
hope,
because
we
know
victory
belongs
to
you
and
so
god
our
prayers.
That
justice
rolls
down
like
a
mighty
river
and
righteousness
like
an
everlasting
stream
and
god.
I
pray
that
right
now
that
we
can
come
together
and
breathe
new
life
into
the
dead
bones
of
our
democracy,
and
so
god
let
us
breathe
again
in
our
communities.
A
A
B
B
B
B
This
is
about
how
we
respond
to
heal
in
our
city
to
truly
get
to
safety,
healing
and
justice,
and
so
I
just
want
to
acknowledge
some
of
the
folks
that
are
here.
We
have
kate
here,
chief
julie,
chief
martinez,
superintendent,
cassellius
chief
miller,
who
is
chief
of
civic
engagement,
was
so
important,
commissioner
dempsey.
B
B
It
is
important
that
we
as
we
talk
about
how
we
respond
in
this
city,
that
we
do
so
unified,
and
so
I
do
encourage
the
residents
of
boston
to
join
us
in
this
work
that
we
will
do
together
to
advance
safety
healing
and
justice
and
ensure
that
we
truly
end
up
and
create
a
more
equitable
boston,
a
more
resilient
boston
and
a
more
just
boston.
I'm
going
to
turn
it
over
to
district
attorney
rollins,
and
then
we
will
close
out
in
prayer
from
bishop
dickerson.
Thank.
B
C
C
C
C
But,
even
with
all
of
this,
I'm
optimistic
we
are
going
to
transform
and
reimagine
how
we
create
public
safety.
The
reforms
that
we
have
invested
in
to
minimize
interactions
with
the
police
and
to
heal
relationships
between
law
enforcement
and
the
communities
they
protect
and
serve
are
more
urgently
needed
than
ever.
C

D
Let's
bow
our
heads,
eternal
god,
our
father.
We
thank
you
for
allowing
us
to
come
together
to
realize
a
moment
in
history,
wherein
it
does
matter
that
a
person
who
is
killed
in
the
way
that
george
floyd
was
killed.
It
does
matter,
it
doesn't
matter
that
he
was
a
black
man,
but
he
was
a
human
being
and
father.
I
pray
that
you
would
lord
strengthen
us
all
as
we
leave
this
place
today.
D
I
pray
to
you,
strengthen
our
mayor,
bless
our
d.a
bless
the
police,
commissioner,
and
all
those
who
are
working
together
for
a
safe
and
a
just
city,
and
even
a
just
and
safe
nation.
I
pray
that
you
will
touch
the
hearts
of
those
that
are
dealing
with
pain
right
now,
especially
the
for
floyd
family.
I
pray,
you'll,
strengthen
them
and
undergird
them
with
your
strength
and
peace.
This
is
a
bittersweet
moment
and
lord.
This
is
for
some
of
the
younger
ones.
This
is
their
rodney
king
moment
and
father.
D
The
prophet
lets
us
know,
pray
for
the
peace
of
the
city
because,
as
it
prospers,
so
will
you
now
father.
This
is
our
prayer
that
you
allow
your
justice
to
prevail,
because
this
is
just
the
beginning,
and
I
pray
heavenly
father
that
you
will,
minister
to
us
each
one
of
us
one
by
one,
a
name
by
name
cover
all
throughout
this
nation,
and
I
pray
that
you
lord,
be
glorified
in
the
midst
of
us
as
we
treat
each
other
right.
D
Whether
we
have
a
badge
whether
we
have
a
gun
or
not,
what
matters
is
that
we
treat
each
other
with
a
sense
of
humanity.
We
thank
you
for
this
beginning
and
lord
it's
a
bittersweet
moment,
but
we
ask
that
you
would
guide
us
and
cover
us
and
help
us
to
do
the
work
after
we
pray
to
work
after
we
connect
to
work
after
we
stand
up
to
work.
We
thank
you
for
all
that
you're
going
to
do
with
us
and
through
us
with
respects
to
all
faith
traditions
in
jesus
name.
Thank
god.
