presented

is

presented

He

the
project
manager
in
the
real
estate
management
and
sales
division
of
DND
vote
number.
One
concerns
a
request
for
the
transfer
of
the
care,
custody
management
and
control
from
the
Department
of
Neighborhood
Development
to
the
Boston
Transportation
Department.
This
concerns
vacant
land
located
at
six
Epping
Street
in
Dorchester,
and
it's
a
property
transfer
between
two
city
departments.

PFC
approval
for
the
transfer
six
Epping
Street
from
D
and
E
to
the
Boston
Transportation
Department.
Our
BTD
property
is
located
at
the
corner
of
Washington
and
Epping
streets
in
the
common
square
section
of
Dorchester
and
consists
of
1349
square
feet.
That
parcel
is
approximately
one
half
of
the
sixth
effing
Street
property,
which
is
transferred
from
the
transportation
department
to
D
and
D
in
August
of
2018.

in
the

and

forest
coalition,
incorporated
hereafter
referred
to

BFF
C
for
the
parcel
identified
in
the
vote
package
in
the
Dorchester
neighborhood
of
Boston.
This
matter
was
last
before
you
in
November
of
2019,
when
PFC
voted
to
approve
the
tentative
developer,
designation
of
BFF
C
to
refresh
the
Commission's
memory.

conducted
a
public
process
that
led
to
the
vote,
and
this
subsequent
request.

and
E
held
a
community
meeting
in
June
2019
to
discuss
with
community
members
the
use
of
these
parcels
as
a
community
garden
and
food
forest
community
support
for
the
project
was
strong
and
DND
moved
toward
an
RFP.
The
RFP
was
issued
in
July
of
2019
and
was
advertised
in
the
state
central
register
and
Boston
heralds.
One
proposal
was
received
in
response
to
the
RFP
and
was
determined
to
meet
the
eligibility
criteria.

Since
designation,
BFF
C
has
received
an
award
of
$50,000
in
development
funds
from
the
grass
roots
program
and
$75,000
through
the
Community
Preservation
Act,
and
they
have
finalized
the
design
plans
for
the
project.
The
vote
package
includes
a
comprehensive
memo
about
the
project
and
PFC
vote
request.
I've
also
provided

related
to
this
vote,
requests
which
are
displayed
on
the
screen.

beds

community
growing

stop
and
a
gathering
space
here
for
the
community,
and
the
fourth
is

project
has
the
support
of
boat
in
Geneva,
main
streets,
state,
senator
Nick,
Collins
city,
councillor,
Andrea,
Campbell,
former
state
representative,
Evandro
Carvalho,
the
greater
boat
in
Geneva,
Neighborhood,
Association,
the
director
butters
and
other
neighbors.
In
summary,
if
PFC
approves
the
vote
request,
it
will
result
in
the
following
public
benefits:
returned
vacant
property
and
D
andis
inventory
for
almost
30
years
to
productive
use,
preserve
more
than
three
thousand
square
feet
of
land
as
protected
open
space,
promote
local
food
access
and
provide
community
gathering
space.
