meeting
on

22nd
2017

morning.

for

the
public
facilities
Department
and
the
Department
of
Neighborhood
Development.

have

one
in
two
presented
jointly,
however,
to
have
a
roll
call
done
separately

vote

repair

manager,
services
associated
with

Massachusetts
school

2017
accelerated
repair
program
at

Boston,
Roslindale
and
Roxbury.
This
contract
for
OPM
services
is
in
the
amount
of
$30,000
vote
number
two
again
presented
by
Scott.

contract

the
slam
collaborative
incorporated.

design
and
construction

ministry
services
associated
with
the
MSBA
accelerated
repair
program
at
seven
Boston,
Public
Schools,
again
located
in
Dorchester,

Boston,
Roslindale
and
Roxbury.

contract
price
for
the
design
services
is
two
hundred
and
fifty
eight
thousand
eight
hundred
dollars

I'm
here
today,
to
request
the
Commission's
approval
to
award
a
complete
project
management
service
contract
with
the
vertex
companies,
inc,
vertex
and
a
design
and
construction
administration
services
contract
with
the
slam
collaborative
inc
slam
associated
with
the
Massachusetts
Building
Authority
MSBA
2017
accelerated
repair
program
at
seven
Boston,
Public
Schools,
the
accelerated
repair
program.
The
ARP
is
for
facilities
in
which
the
scope
of
work
is
limited
to
the
replacement
of
roofs
repair,
it
repairs
to
windows
and
boilers.

The
following
seven
schools
have
been
approved
by
the
MSBA
will
be
doing
a
roof
replacement
at
the
William
E
Russell
Elementary
School
will
be
doing
a
window
replacement
at
op,
Academy,
Charter
School
of
Dorchester,
and
we
will
be
doing
boiler
replacements
at
the
Ewell,
our
O'donnell
elementary
school,
the
East
Boston
High
School,
the
Charles
Sumner
elementary
school,
the
Maurice
Tobin
school
and
the
James
P
Tim
LT
middle
school
to
expedite
project
delivery.
The
MSBA
assigns
an
OPM
and
designer
to
districts
who
are
invited
into
the
ARP
during
the
life
of
the
ARP
project.

The
MSBA
assigns
the
consultant
team
of
the
OPM
designers
from
the
MSBA
conducted
its
own
publicly
advertised
procurement
process.
Therefore,
the
MSB,
a
selection
committee
reviews
the
applicants
and
nest
submissions,
rated
and
shortlist
of
the
firms.
Accordingly,
vertex
and
slam
were
assigned
to
the
city
on
September
27th
2017
for
the
seven
schools
ARP.
Hence
the
city
has
directed
to
bring
these
firms
under
contract
using
MSBA
approved
contract
documents.
The
city
has
no
objection
to
including
to
employ
vertex
and
slam.

Vertex
has
worked
with
the
MSBA
in
the
past
on
several
projects
within
the
ARP,
specifically
roof
and
window
replacements.
Slam
has
worked
with
the
MSBA
and
for
several
years
within
the
ARP
and
specifically
on
boilers,
roofs
and
window
projects.
Presently,
vertex
has
no
sub
consultants
named
under
the
OPM
contract.
However,
the
terms
for
sub
consultant
services
are
codified
in
the
contract
and
allowed,
if
needed
and
funded.
On
the
other
hand,
slam
has
sub
consultants
on
this
design
team,
who
are
stated,
MBE,
WBS
and
DBS
for
cost.

The
cost
of
the
OPM
service
for
vertex
is
$30,000,
and
the
cost
of
the
design
services
provided
by
slam
is
two
hundred
fifty
eight
thousand
dollars.
These
are
negotiated
fees
and
are
based
on
a
number
of
schools
included
in
the
scope
of
services.
The
fee
arrangement
is
established
by
MSB
a
practices
and
directives
to
the
district.
The
term
of
each
contract
is
a
hundred
and
four
weeks
within
the
initial
36
weeks
spent
on
the
aforementioned
scope
of
services.

The
city
anticipates
having
schematic
design
submissions
ready
for
February
21st
of
2018
to
be
approved
in
April
10th
2018
MSB,
a
board
meeting
a
Board
of
Directors
meeting
I'm
sorry.
Lastly,
the
funds
requested
are
approved
by
the
cities
office
of
budget
management
as
further
explained
and
verified
with
supporting
documentation
in
the
respective
project
backgrounds.
