Description
The Foley Apartments in South Boston held a flag raising ceremony to commemorate their new American flag, which was donated by Congressman Lynch. The flag is from the Capitol Building and replaces the previous flag at the development which has worn out over time.

A
We
have
a
great
delegation
in
South
Boston
councillor,
michael
flower.
Tea
is
in
a
meeting,
but
he's
trying
to
get
here.
Congressman
Stephen
Lynch,
who
you
all
know,
unfortunately,
could
not
be
here
this
morning
and
also
city
councillor
bill
letter
here,
and
so
we're
just
happy
to
be
here
with
all
of
you
and
to
join
all
the
residents
here.
A
A
To
say
that
listen,
we
need
to
get
new
flags,
so
we
got
to
work
right
because
that's
what
it's
about
we
got
to
work,
so
I
can
tell
you
that
redneck
collins
reached
out
to
congressman
stephen
lynch
to
get
the
american
flag
that
was
flown
over
Congress
right
and
was
able
to
get
the
American
flag.
Here
are
honest.
The
very
next
day
we
reach
that.
So
our
great
mayor,
Marty
Walsh.
She
was
no
stranger
to
South
Boston.
You
all
know
him.
He
was
a
state
rep
before,
but
doing
this
incredible
work.
A
So
what
is
grateful
today
that
all
of
us
are
here
to
celebrate?
Celebrate
the
folksy
of
the
Holy
celebrate,
obviously
the
dedication
to
our
veterans,
who
live
here
as
well,
but
really
for
the
service
right,
especially
an
incredible
incredible
country.
We
know
that
so
before
I
go
much
longer.
I
want
to
bring
up
on
man
because
I'm
there
switch
the
schedule
around.
A
E
For
me,
I
want
to
thank,
I
wanted
thank
Jerry
I
want
two
things
in
the
4e
for
bringing
us
all
together
today
and
being
the
quarterback
on
this.
As
you
all
know,
we
need
a
good
quarterback.
We
have
one
and
I
want
to
thank
Linda,
for
that.
I
also
want
to.
Thank
me
call
it's
who's,
no
stranger
to
anyone
here
at
this
building,
but
anywhere
in
South
Boston
does
an
incredible
job
representing
South
Boston
in
pots
of
Dorchester
at
the
state
house.
E
E
E
I
want
to
take
Billy,
you
know
Billy's
responsible,
we
SAT
a
program
about
a
year
and
a
half
ago
to
house
homeless
veterans
in
the
city
of
Boston,
and
we
SAT
the
program.
Last
year,
we
with
house
with
the
help
of
giselle
sterling,
our
veterans,
Commissioner
Billy
McGonagle,
the
elected
officials
will
house
nearly
800
homeless
vets
in
the
city
of
Boston.
E
That's
a
pretty
big
number
when
you
think
about
the
amount
of
events
that
we
have
on
the
streets
and
and
we're
going
to
continue.
We
have
a
process
now
to
make
sure
that
any
homeless
vet
that
goes
on,
though,
becomes
homeless.
We
have
a
system
to
get
them
back
into
housing.
So
that's
what
the
collaboration
of
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
people
here
today,
Emily
Shay
from
ugly
Commission,
is
here
as
well.
You
a
lot
of
you
know.
Emily
I
want
to
thank
Emily
for
support.
E
Some
more
thank
yous
one
is
so
Congress
of
Stephen
Lynch
Steve
Lynch
was
a
state
representatives.
Neighborhood
became
the
state
senator
in
this
neighborhood
once
out
to
Congress
represent
us
since
october,
two
thousand
and
one
down
in
Congress,
and
one
of
the
committee's
that
he
has
to
be
on-
was
young,
Services,
Committee
and
Stephen,
as
has
gone
overseas
to
Afghanistan
and
Iraq.
Probably
almost
thirteen
fourteen
times
since
you've
been
now
he's,
one
of
the
people
that
goes
down
to
the
downto
to
those
areas
were
out.
E
Men
and
women
are
fighting
for
us
and
offer
them
support.
He
comes
back
and
fight.
Some
in
Congress
I
know
that
when
the
senator
calls
him
about
the
flag,
it
was
sealed
with
Nick
column
of
the
flag.
The
next
day
was
he
a
CD
Lynch.
You
know
what
he
needs
to
this
country
into
this
neighborhood.
I
want
to
thank
see
village,
but,
most
importantly,
in
a
couple
of
days,
we
celebrate
a
very
important
day
in
this
country
and
its
veterans
day,
and
I
think
that
you
know
people
as
time
goes
on.
E
E
It
is
a
fitting
to
be
here
today
to
raise
this
new
flag
that
song
over
the
flu
of
the
United
States
Capitol
here
in
South
Boston
I
want
to
thank
all
of
you,
the
veterans
all
of
the
families
in
the
greatest
generation.
Thank
you.
Even
if
you
were
in
a
veteran
thank
you
for
you
did
for
our
country
for
all
of
us,
because
you
give
us
the
opportunity
to
do
what
we
do
every
day.
So
thank
you
and
God
bless.
A
A
A
F
F
To
be
here,
events
like
this
already
employed
remind
us
why
we
do
what
we
do
not
just
to
thank
the
people
that
came
before
us
that
provide
the
freedom
that
we
cherish,
but
also,
you
know
remind
us
as
a
community.
You
know
that
were
things
a
little
bit
bigger
than
us
and
I
know,
there's
a
an
election
coming
up
in
a
few
days
and
I
really
hope
people
get
out
and
vote
don't
be
fooled
by
my
tie.
I'm
not
vote
for
Donald
Trump,
but
what
makes
this
community
work
are
also
the
people
behind
the
scenes.
F
So
I
want
to
thank
the
task
force
to
work
very
closely
with
vilma
buying.
All
the
people
at
bha
to
you
know
make
this
community,
in
particular
our
senior
housing
as
good
as
the
boss.
We
can,
you
know
we're
always
trying
to
do
better
and
the
people
that
work
for
us
that
make
this
thing.
Work
and
I
want
to
thank
my
staff
debil
work
with
a
lot
of
you
and
Sean
Pierce
who
work
so
setting
up.
F
Orion
Serafina
works
at
senator,
boring
and
the
staff
that
the
mayor
has
no
Dax
here
and
his
team
John
Ellison.
You
know
those
people
that
help.
Let's
get
things
done
and
really
you
know
represent
you
as
best
we
can
so
I
want
to.
Thank
thank
them.
Make
the
task
force
like
the
BHA
and
in
not
just
to
thank
the
residents
for
putting
us
in
the
position
that
we
are
advocating
on
behalf,
but
but
thank
you.
What
do
you
do
for
the
community.
B
G
Always
a
pleasure
to
come
to
fully
apartments
I've
been
coming
down
here
as
an
official
for
pha-4,
it's
one
of
the
hidden
jewel,
so
not
so
hidden
jewels.
We
haven't
self
Boston
and
if
the
mayor
said,
if
there's
any
chatter
about
selling
this
place,
I
haven't
heard
it,
but
I
can
I
can
assure
you
it's
not
going
to
happen.
This.
G
A
We
continue
to
work
on
that
in
the
legislature,
because
Massachusetts
is
one
of
the
only
states
that
has
the
best
veteran
services
in
the
country
right.
Can
we
do
more.
Of
course
we
can,
but
when
we
have
veterans
who
are
coming
back
home
and
we're
talking
about
housing,
as
you
heard,
the
man
that
means
focusing
on
housing
on
veterans,
that's
important
and
we're
working
on
that
around
the
whole
state.
When
we
talk
about
jobs
for
veterans
two
sessions
ago,
we
change
laws
to
say
veterans.
We
want
veterans
that
priorities
around
small
businesses
right.
A
That's
impacting
our
veterans,
because
we
know
it's
the
holistic
approach
that
we
need
to
take
and
I
just
want
you
all
to
know
as
veterans
and
as
families
and
friends
and
folksy
at
the
Foley
who
have
worked
hard
to
make
today
happen
that
we
have
not
forgotten
because
we
work
on
these
issues
every
day
and
so
I
want
to
bring
up
the
Commissioner,
because
the
mayor
is
committed.
He
had
a
commissioner
before
Commissioner
Giselle
sterling
who's,
now
Commissioner
of
veteran
services
for
the
state,
but
it's
so
awesome
that
he
brought
on
a
woman
veteran.
A
D
D
H
H
C
C
H
B
A
A
But
he
could
have
been
left,
which
is
incredible
because
he
was
a
son
of
a
military
family
right
and
his
father
was
high,
ranked
in
the
military.
And
so
after
a
year
of
being
in
a
camp.
Senator
McCain
could
have
left.
But
he
said
no
I'm
not
going
to
leave
because
there
are
other
people
here,
other
Americans
that
are
in
prison
too.
