From YouTube: Pipefitters Local 537 Training Center Groundbreaking
Description
The next generation of Boston's pipefitters will begin their apprenticeship in a brand new 70,000 square foot training facility in Dorchester. Pipefitters Local 537's new training center and headquarters will replace two buildings originally built in 1880 and 1964.
A
You
good
morning,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
I'd
like
to
welcome
you
all
to
the
groundbreaking
ceremony
for
the
new
pipe
fitters
training
center.
My
name
is
Paul
McGrath
I
am
the
training
coordinator.
This
is
a
historic
day
for
local
5:37.
It's
been
in
the
making
for
many
years.
For
over
a
hundred
years,
local
5:37
has
been
serving
the
great
communities
of
Boston.
Our
history
is
rich
with
a
legacy
of
training
and
having
a
highly
skilled
workforce.
Training
has
been
our
cornerstone
for
our
organization.
The
original
training
center
was
built
in
1963
and
has
served
us
well.
A
Six
decades
of
apprentices
journey
men
and
women
have
passed
through
its
doors.
Currently
we
have
2800
members
and
we
are
growing
in
order
for
us
to
sustain
our
success.
We
must
continue
to
have
the
best
trained
apprentices
journey
men
and
women
in
Boston.
This
facility
we
break
ground
on
today
will
give
us
that
future.
It
is
a
very
exciting
time.
B
C
Thank
you.
For
the
morning,
everyone
mayor,
Walsh
representative,
Collins
council,
rossabi,
George,
Council
of
ayka
brothers
and
sisters
of
local
537,
my
colleagues
in
the
building
and
construction
trades,
a
contractor
partners
from
the
New
England
mechanical
Contractors,
Association,
Commissioner
of
professional
licensure,
austell,
distinguished
guests
and
members
of
the
press.
Welcome
to
the
local
537
groundbreaking.
C
As
training
coordinator
McGrath
mentioned,
this
is
truly
a
historic
moment
for
our
organization
today
marks
the
official
kickoff
of
a
project
that
will
serve
the
members
of
local
5:37
for
the
next
hundred
years.
Right
here
in
the
city
of
Boston,
Boston
is
our
home.
We
love
our
city,
we
love
our
neighborhood
and
we
love
building
Boston
on
this
very
site
by
this
time.
Next
year,
we'll
have
more
than
tripled
our
training
space
increase
the
meeting
space
dramatically
increased
I,
hands-on
training
space
and
approved
our
ability
to
train
our
members
in
every
way
possible.
C
We'll
do
so
to
accommodate
our
growth,
remain
on
the
cutting
edge
of
technology
and
learn
and
perfect
our
craft
to
the
highest
standards
in
the
world.
We'll
also
relocate
our
main
headquarters
in
our
Benefits
Office
to
this
site,
making
it
the
first
time
in
local
5:37
history.
There
will
be
housed
under
one
roof
and
approve
improve
our
overall
efficiency
as
an
organization
as
in
any
skilled
trade.
Training
is
a
foundation
of
the
organization,
and
we
feel
very
strongly
here
in
Boston,
and
we
do
it
better
than
anyone
anywhere.
C
C
This
year
was
in
HVAC
and
last
year
we
won
the
welding
championship.
This
is
a
true
testament
to
our
training
program,
curriculum
and
world-class
instructional
staff.
While
we
navigate
our
way
into
the
future.
It's
always
important
to
remember,
acknowledge
and
celebrate
our
past,
the
generations
of
trades
men
and
women
that
built
this
organization,
leaders
both
past
and
present,
who
sacrificed
who
sacrificed,
who
sacrifices,
elevated
us
to
the
level
we
enjoy
today
now
I
have
countless
people
to
acknowledge
and
thank
for
help,
helping
us
get
to
this
remarkable
point
and
I
in
our
organization's
history.
C
But
out
of
respect
for
everyone's
schedule,
I'll
try
to
be
brief
and
keep
this
moving
forward.
I'd,
like
the
style
with
the
union
offices
and
staff
both
past
and
present
filleting
the
salt
foundation
for
our
organization,
I've
always
been
taught
that
a
good
leader
works
hard
to
leave
the
office
just
a
little
bit
better
than
he
found
it.
D
C
Mr.
John
Moriarty
from
John
Moriarty
and
Associates
for
partnering
with
local
537
and
help
him
to
put
together
a
dream
team
to
build
a
world-class
training
facility
in
headquarters
in
our
city,
Mr
Al
Spagnola
from
Spagnola
G's
Ness
&
Associates,
whose
architectural
his
first
class
in
second
to
none.
They
continue
to
work
tirelessly
to
design
what
has
been
described
on
multiple
occasions
as
an
award-winning
design
of
a
building
business
agent,
rusty,
Paul,
Campbell,
MS,
Diane,
more
rad
from
Neponset
strategies
and
local
537
administrative
and
training
staff
for
putting
together
this
historic,
groundbreaking
ceremony.
C
C
Now,
at
this
time,
I
first
speaker
this
morning,
although
he
needs
no
introduction,
I'm,
proud
and
honored
to
do
so.
He's
the
son
of
the
city,
a
son
of
Hinnom
immigrants
in
Asano
liebe,
could
not
be
more
proud
of
my
colleague
and
dear
friend,
who
climbed
the
ranks
and
now,
as
mayor
of
the
great
city
of
Boston,
his
entire
life
has
been
dedicated
to
improving
the
lives
of
others,
and
he
recognizes
that
the
skilled
trades
are
an
important
pathway
to
economic
success,
social
mobility
and
a
better
life
for
so
many
people.
C
He
is
a
champion
a
champion
of
working
men
and
women,
a
champion
of
second
chances
and
a
champion
of
people
all
over
the
city
of
Boston,
who
need
it
most.
As
a
leader
of
the
Boston
building
trades
and
still
today
has
made
at
maiya
presiding
over
one
of
the
largest
economic
booms
in
our
city's
history.
He
is
leading
the
way
on
diversifying
the
building
trades
growing
our
ranks
at
a
time
where
skilled
labor
is
sorely
needed
and
creating
opportunities
for
the
folks
to
enter
the
middle
class.
E
Thank
you
and
I
want
to
thank
Brian
and
congratulate
him
on
just
on
to
this
today.
I
know
that
5:37
has
been
talking
about
this
facility
and
not
just
talking
about
laying
the
foundation
for
a
long
time,
and
it's
exciting
that
we
here
today
and
as
Brian
said
earlier,
it
takes
the
work
of
a
lot
of
people
and
I
appreciate
all
the
work
that
yeah
I'm
not
going
to
repeat
everyone's
name
but
I
want
to
thank
everyone
here.
E
E
Frank
Norton,
Paul,
McGrath,
Anitra,
sabe,
Georgie
gonna,
hear
from
in
a
few
minutes
in
Frankie
Baker
the
city
councilor,
who
both
of
them
who
live
in
the
neighborhood,
so
thank
you
most
of
all,
I
want
to
say
congratulations
to
the
members
of
this
great
local
union.
This
is
an
exciting
day
for
this
local.
It's
an
exciting
day
for
growth
of
the
local
and
the
people.
I
say
this
often
the
the
reason
why
you're
here
today
isn't
because
of
the
current
membership
is
because
of
the
past
membership.
E
F
E
We
wouldn't
be
able
to
say
that
we're
in
a
position
today
in
the
city
of
Boston,
to
go
out
to
anything
that's
out
there
and
a
lot
of
that
is
because
of
the
great
men
at
work
of
men
and
women
of
the
trades
that
have
built
so
many
strong
projects
in
our
city,
all
across
from
from
buildings,
to
transportation,
to
roads
and
bridges
to
the
tunnel.
That
goes
to
the
heart
of
our
city,
to
change
the
dynamics
of
our
city.
So
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that.
E
And
Brian
mentioned
in
the
City
of
Austin,
our
mission
is
to,
and
the
mission
of
labor
really
is
to
expand
opportunities
to
create
pathways
to
success,
and
that's
what
labor
really
the
foundation
labor
has
been
all
about
over
the
last
hundred
plus
years.
It's
about
creating
opportunities
and
giving
people
opportunities
to
be
able
to
raise
a
family
and
leave.
It
continues
to
do
that
in
5:37
has
been
a
great
partner
in
that
you've,
trained
generation
of
Bostonians
and
gotten
them
started
in
a
good
career,
great
career
path.
E
We're
proud
to
the
work
that
you've
done
on
your
apprentices
programs
back
when
before
I
was
the
mayor
on
helping
create
building
pathways.
That's
been
a
you
success
and
since
then,
working
on
programs
like
operation
exit,
giving
young
men
and
women
of
Boston
who
need
a
second
chance,
a
second
chance
to
get
them
off
the
street
and
get
them
into
a
career
that
can
keep
them
from
going
back
into
the
street.
We
believe
in
the
power
of
Libet
to
lift
up
communities.
E
Many
members
who
went
to
this
local
union
that
raise
the
family
they
put
there,
they
put
food
on
the
table
and
they
put
their
kids
through
college
and
some
of
those
kids
help
elevate
to
presidents
of
universities,
some
of
those
kids
elevate
to
mayors
of
the
City
of
Boston.
So
it's
important
to
understand
that
what
the
apprenticeship
program
to
do
it's
a
start
into
something.
That's
incredible.
E
We
also
rely
on
local
5:37
as
a
partner
in
workforce
development
in
our
office
of
Workforce
Development
Director
Trin
win
is
here
working
with
5:37
to
make
sure
that
we
continue
to
build
pipelines
and
pathways
today
marks
an
exciting
new
chapter
in
this
organization.
This
new,
state-of-the-art
training
facility,
as
Brian
said,
will
triple
the
current
training,
space
and
use
of
new
technologies.
Also,
this
building
is
going
to
be
open
to
the
community
to
be
able
to
use
for
community
meetings
and
be
active
in
the
community.
E
That's
something
that's
really
important
that
that
was
said
from
day
one,
the
5:37
we
wanted.
We
were
a
partner
in
the
neighborhood.
We
want
to
expand
that
partnership.
This
building
will
also
gonna
allow
more
women
and
men
to
access
high-level
training
and
resources
that
this
facility
is
known
for,
and
it
will
prepare
more
highly
skilled
trades
of
people
and
trades
women
to
join
the
Boston
workforce.
I'm
excited
to
see
what
this
new
facility
actually
means
for
the
community
and
I'm,
proud
to
see
that
John,
Moriarty
and
Greg
Janey
are
leading
the
project
in
a
partnership.
E
That's
really
important,
because
this
holy
union,
what
they've
done
is
that
they've
set
the
standards
for
what
they
expect
to
see
in
the
industry
in
the
future,
and
that's
something
that's
exciting.
We
know
that
they'll
work
the
same
way,
the
two,
the
two
contractors
in
the
committment
that
local
5:37
has
teaching
their
trainees
and
that's
the
way
they
treat
their
trained.
So
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that
again.
E
I
just
want
to
end
with
this
I
want
to
thank
okhla
fire
37
for
making
enabled
stronger
Dorchester
in
the
city
of
Boston
I
want
to
thank
you
for
being
a
partner
in
so
many
different
ways
in
the
city
of
Boston,
with
expanding
opportunity,
but
also
always
being
there
any
time.
I
pick
up
the
phone
and
call
537
quite
on
the
same
time.
E
I
pick
up
the
phone
to
call
I
need
the
Building
Trades
the
idea,
whether
it's
painting
a
rectory
for
somebody,
whether
it's
patching
holes
for
somebody,
whether
it's
working
for
a
non-profit,
they're,
not
they're,
not
sending
me
a
bill
out
to
that.
I
want
to
thank
the
building
trades
for
that,
and
particularly
thing
537
for
that
as
well,
because
your
help
is
unbelievable.
You've
done
that
for
generations.
I
want
to
congratulate
the
officers.
I
want
to
congratulate
the
trustees.
I
want
to
congratulate
the
apprentices.
E
I
want
to
congratulate
the
contractors
past
and
present,
but
most
important
I
want
to
congratulate
the
members
and
the
retirees,
because
this
facility
is
about
you,
it's
about
your
values
and
what
you
feel
about
this
industry.
So
I
want
to
congratulate.
You
I
want
to
thank
all
of
you
for
having
a
vision
and
laying
the
groundwork
for
the
next
hundred
years
of
training
and
workforce,
not
just
in
the
local
5:37,
but
setting
the
bar
really
high
for
the
rest
of
the
building
trades.
So
thank
you
very
much.
C
Next
counsel,
a
baker
has
been
with
us
since
day,
one
he's
a
neighborhood
guy
in
the
stands.
Why
it's
important
for
us
to
stay
here
in
Dorchester
training,
the
men
and
women
live
in
work
work
here
and
throughout
the
area
he's
been
with
us
throughout
the
process,
every
step
of
the
way
from
community
meetings
to
just
being
on
the
other
end
of
the
phone.
His
support
has
been
invaluable
counsel,
Baker,
please
come
up
and
say
hello.
We
thank
you
for
all
your
hard
work
and,
on
behalf
of
behalf
of
everyone
who
lives
in
your
district.
G
Thank
you,
everybody.
Thank
you,
Brian.
Thank
you
Paul.
This
was
actually
an
easy
project
to
get
involved.
Oh
thank
you.
All.
The
trustees
and
all
the
men
and
women
of
5:37,
the
mayor
talked
eloquently
about
the
training
and
you
can
feel
his
passion
for
what
we
need
training.
We
need
it's
one
of
those,
our
societal
goals,
I
believe
and
what
5:37
is
doing
here
in
this
expanded
capacity,
fabulous
fabulous.
G
So
with
that
being
said,
I
want
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
the
initial
interactions,
thank
Ryan
for
when,
when
they
had
their
project
getting
ready
to
get
started,
he
called
me
asked
me
my
opinion.
We
were
able
to
work
through
some
some
early
details
and,
and
one
of
the
things
that
was
going
on
was
the
the
South
Bay
expansion
over
here
and
one
of
the
things
that's
going
on
a
blessing
and
a
curse
or
the
way
you
look
at
it.
G
We
have
a
lot
of
space
here,
that's
probably
going
to
be
developed
and
with
help
from
BD,
PA
and-
and
you
know,
other
agencies
we're
able
to
sit
here
and
actually
plan
what
this
may
look
like.
So
that
doesn't
look
like
your
typical.
You
know:
Union
home,
you
know
it's
a
beautiful,
beautiful
building
that
that
tells
me
the
5:37,
with
your
leadership.
Ryan
is
thinking
about
the
future
and
thinking
about
our
needs,
what
we're
gonna,
how
we're
going
to
look
and
how
we're
gonna
need
our
spaces
to
look
in
the
21st
century.
G
So
thank
you
Brian
for
that
that
lady
shirt
leadership
and
allowing
us
to
we're
trying
to
kind
of
connect
this
area
down
here
so
with
with
5:37
and
with
the
planners.
We
were
able
to
talk
about
how
this
building
would
relate
to
the
new
project
going
on
and
all
the
rest
of
the
development
down
here
and
and
for
me
as
a
neighborhood
kid
to
watch
to
watch
the
transformation.
That's
gonna
happen
down
here.
I
mean
we
have.
G
We
have
you
know
all
the
fences
with
the
barbed
wire:
it's
not
exactly
an
inviting
place,
but
that's
all
the
one
to
stop
to
change
in
the
pipe
the
pipe
fitters
are
going
to
be
part
of
that
so
I.
Thank
you
and
I.
Thank
the
man
for
his
commitment
on
job
training
and
what
a
great
day
this
is
is
here
today.
E
F
C
Met
counselor
asabi
Jewett
earlier
this
year
as
we're
engaging
the
stakeholders
about
our
reconstruction
project,
I
learned
that
you
grew
up
right
down
the
street
here
and
continues
to
live
and
owned
a
business
right
in
this
neighborhood.
In
fact,
we
had
several
conversations
about
times
where
maybe
we
may
have
had
a
an
apprentice
or
two
speeding
down
her
Road
and
how
quickly
that
was
resolved
and
I
think
that
that
goes
a
long
way
with
the
neighborhood.
You
know
when
I
first
told
what
we
were
looking
to
do.
C
H
Thank
you
all
thank
you
for
allowing
you
to
say
a
few
words
and
congratulate
you
on
this
great
day.
Paul
mentioned
earlier
that
this
is
an
exciting
time
for
your
local,
for
5:37
and
I,
say
it's
an
exciting
time
for
our
neighborhood
for
Frank
and
mine,
and
what
once
was
the
mayor's
neighborhood
now
he's
moved
down
to
the
other
end,
but
it's
an
exciting
time
for
our
neighborhood
and
it's
no
doubt
an
exciting
time
for
the
city
as
a
whole
and
as
a
resident
of
this
neighborhood
and
as
a
citywide
city
councilor.
H
This
work
right
here
in
our
neighborhood
will
affect
not
just
the
local
residents.
It
will
have
a
far-reaching
and
citywide
impact,
and
that's
so
exciting
to
me
that
we
are
creating
more
and
greater
access
to
jobs
within
our
own
neighborhoods
and
for
me,
as
a
city
girls,
born
and
raised
in
this
neighborhood,
it's
important
that
we
do
that
and
that
S
has
elected
to
support
that
work.
So
congratulations
and
I
look
forward
to
digging
a
little
dirt
with
you.
Thank.
C
Next
I
have
to
throw
out
a
shout
to
Senator
Dorsey,
no
Florrie
senator
to
escena,
for
it
was
supposed
to
be
with
us
today.
Unfortunately,
she
is
unfortunately
for
us,
but
fortunately
for
her
she's
receiving
a
very
prestigious
award
at
the
Statehouse
hope.
The
senator
sends
her
apologies
for
not
being
with
you
here
today
in
in
person.
C
Our
next
speaker
is
another
one
of
us,
Dorchester
resident
who
I'm
proud
to
call
my
friend
you
want
to
talk
about,
jumping
in
and
trying
to
fill
some
big
shoes.
Well,
this
guy
jumped
in
with
both
feet
into
the
general
agent
of
the
Boston
Building
Trades
office.
His
name
is
Brian
Doherty.
He
hit
the
ground
running
and
hasn't
stopped
since
I'm,
proud
to
say
that,
even
with
his
busy
schedule,
Brian
stood
shoulder
to
shoulder
with
me
through
every
community
meeting
throughout
this
entire
process.
C
I
I
Simply
because
this
idea
to
put
a
training
center
to
keep
a
training
center
in
the
heart
of
Dorchester,
to
make
sure
that
anybody
that
walks
into
this
building
can
get
the
training
to
a
direct
contact
of
the
best
jobs
in
the
country
is
a
testament
to
what
5:37
represents.
It's
a
testament
to
make
sure
that
they
look
out
for
every
single
person
that
works
every
day
for
a
better
living.
So
thank
you
to
Brian
and
thank
you
to
5:30
step
for
your
leadership.
I.
I
Have
to
say,
I
think
this
was
the
the
easiest
community
process
we've
ever
been
through
and
it's
because
of
what
Brian
did
every
night
and
what
the
team
did
every
night
to
come
in
to
talk
about
keeping
jobs
here,
making
sure
people
can
put
food
on
the
table,
get
great
training
and
have
a
life
that
sustains
do
it
just
a
family
and
a
chip
family
from
anywhere
around
the
Commonwealth
or
the
country.
So
that
was
great
work
and
I
have
to
thank
some
of
our
partners,
who
were
part
of
that
process
and
I.
I
I
I
Something
that
I,
you
know,
I
think
he's
doing
an
incredible
job
and
they
think
everyone
here
does
too,
but
for
the
fact
that,
after
decades
that
anyone
in
the
world
can
take
a
look
at
Boston
I
know
they
get
a
well
built
building,
they
get
a
strong
work
force
and
they
have
any
opportunity
they
want
by
coming.
Here.
We
can't
thank
the
mayor
enough
for
always
looking
out
for
everyone
and
doing
an
incredible
job
leading
the
city.
So
thank
you.
Mary.
I
I
Great
health
care
make
sure
they
have
a
dignified
retirement
after
a
full
career
of
working
hard
and
that's
what
the
labor
movement
represents
and
that's
what
the
team
at
5:37
does
every
day.
So
as
we
think
about
this
building,
let's
think
about
the
idea
behind
it
and
what
it
means
for
a
more
just
and
fair
society.
So,
let's
give
everybody
a
chance
to
come
in
get
some
great
training
and
have
a
great
career
and
I
would
be
remiss
if
I
don't
thank
the
entire
building
trades
team
who's
here
today
to
support
these
efforts.
So.
I
And
just
as
we
started
to
build
this
project,
we
were
very
delighted
to
hear
the
John
Moriarty
becoming
to
be
part
of
this
process.
He
continues
to
set
the
highest
standards
of
construction
in
the
country.
He
does
a
wonderful
job
every
day
he
put
on
a
great
team,
a
great
genie.
So
please,
let's
hear
it
for
the
work.
I
Good
and
constant
Baker
said
this
is
an
exciting
day,
9:40
wrong
with
you
and
Mayor
Walsh,
but
on
behalf
of
mark
fortune,
president,
the
building
trades
and
Billy
McLaughlin.
Vice
president,
the
leadership
team
of
the
building
trades,
we
commend
you
537.
We
commend
the
hard-working
men
and
women
of
this
great
local
and
best
wishes
and
good
luck
on
an
incredible
project
and
a
great
future.
Thank
you.
C
F
C
Your
district
runs
in
the
back.
You
play
an
important
part.
You
were
a
partner
in
the
in
the
process.
All
throughout
a
dear
friend
of
Labor.
He's
worked
us
with
us
on
a
variety
of
issues.
The
understands
the
challenges
facing
working
men
and
women
in
our
state
has
been
a
leader
in
the
fight
for
women's
equity
in
the
workplace,
with
drill
to
have
them
here.
Thank
you
very
much
for
being
here
and
partnering
with
us
on
this
project
representative.
C
C
Ca
labor
management
committee
and
here
locally,
as
a
co-chairman
of
the
educational
trustee
responsible
for
the
project
that
was
celebrating
today,
Franklin
has
held
every
title
known
to
man
and
won
every
award
possible
of
the
management
side
of
this
industry
over
the
course
of
his
illustrious
career.
His
love
for
the
industry
and
his
passion
for
our
apprenticeship
training
program
is
what
drives
them
at
this
time.
I'd
like
to
invite
my
partner,
Frank
Noland,
to
come
up
and
say
a
few
words.
B
Good
morning,
let's
go
so
you
know:
I'm
co-chair
from
the
Educational
Trust
represent
them
the
window.
Mechanical
contractors,
Steve
aapanaadu,
I,
see
them
in
the
back
there
from
the
winger
mechanical
contractors
is
our
executive.
Vice
president
I'd
like
to
introduce
the
other
trustees
of
the
new
English
Anika
contract
is.
B
B
B
On
a
personal
note,
I
went
through
my
apprenticeship
in
the
school
right
to
the
left
of
us
and
graduated
from
there
in
the
early
70s,
so
Brian
wasn't
kidding
I
bit
in
the
around
for
a
while
again
we're
excited
about
it.
I
think
we're
going
to
go
forward
with
it
and
I'm
very
proud
to
be
a
part
of
this
building
of
this
new
training
institution
that
we're
going
to
have
yet
today.
Thank
you
very
much.
C
If
I
could
ask
both
John
Maury,
ID
and
Greg
genie
to
come
up
together
exactly
the
way
that
we're
going
to
build
this
building
together,
to
say
a
few
words
I
can
give
them
an
introduction,
but
I
think
their
reputation
speaks
for
itself.
I,
don't
know
if
I
can
describe
how
this
unique
partnership
came
together
as
well
as
they
may
be
able
to,
but
as
I
as
I
refer
to
it
earlier.
I
truly
believe
that
this
is
a
dream
team.
That's
going
to
build
an
incredible
project.
I.
F
F
Come
to
Boston,
besides
having
great
political
leadership,
you
get
a
result
that
you
can
predict
if
you're
going
to
invest
in
Boston.
Somebody
gives
you
a
price
on
a
building.
That's
the
price
of
the
building.
The
tradesmen
perform
on
time,
we're
not
late.
We
have
a
fabulous
skilled
workforce,
and
so,
when
I
had
a
call
from
Brian
and
said
you
know,
we
want
to
build
a
training
center
and
I'm
thinking.
Well,
yeah
sure
you
get
100
apprentices
came
over,
he
said:
I
have
408
apprentices,
oh
my
god!
F
How
fantastic
is
that
if
you've
ever
and
you
guys
have
all
in
Gales,
have
all
been
in
a
mechanical
room
where
you
see
a
piece
of
30
inch
pipe,
that's
30
feet
the
air
and
it's
perfect.
Almost
the
90%
of
American
never
sees
that.
They
have
no
idea
how
complicated
this
is.
So
when
I
was
asked
about
this
opportunity
in
which
I
jumped
at
is
a
chance
to
do
it
and
to
work
with
a
great
team.
I
called
Greg,
Janey
and
I
said
Greg.
Let's
go
to
lunch.
F
What's
up
I
said
well
I'm
not
to
talk
about
the
hotel.
We've
already
made
a
deal
on
the
hotel,
I
said
I
said:
I
said
we
need
to
make
another
deal
and
we
need
to
make
a
deal
to
do
something.
That's
going
to
be
emblematic
of.
What's
gonna
happen
in
Boston,
it's
a
training
center
and
it's
gonna
be
a
diverse
training
center
and
when
there's
new
young
leaders
that
that
wants
to
do
this-
and
he
said
why
would
you
do
that
I
said
because
nobody's
making
us
do
it?
F
It's
because
it's
the
right
thing
for
us
to
do
together.
I
came
to
Bryan
and
I
said
Brian
I
want
to
do
this.
I
know
this
wasn't
on
the
cards.
He
said
it's
a
great
idea.
You
said
it's
gonna
cost
us
anything.
I
said
no
we're
gonna.
Do
it
together,
we're
gonna
form
a
joint
venture,
there's
a
real
joint
venture.
It's
not
a
you
get
a
little
piece
and
you
come
to
the
meetings.
It's
a
real
joy
in
French
and
we're
partners
in
this.
F
We
have
one
of
his
guys
in
our
office
started
in
our
office
working
us
with
us
on
the
estimating
on
this.
So
it's
a
great
opportunity
for
us
to
be
real
partners
to
show
that
this
is
the
way
this
work
should
be
done
in
this
city
under
great
political
leadership,
at
a
phenomenal
time
for
the
trades
it's
it's
just
I
feel
so
lucky
to
have
been
selected
for
this.
There's
been
a
couple
of
other
training
centers
that
got
built
that
I
didn't
get
a
sniff
at.
D
So
I
have
nothing
left.
Okay,
I
can
show
you
this
whole
thing.
I've
got
nothing
left,
I.
Think
what
I'd
like
to
punch,
however,
is
that
this
is
a
private
job
and
so
there's
no
requirement
to
have
a
minority
partner,
and
this
is
the
trend.
We
hope
that
we
see
in
the
future.
I
mean
to
me.
This
is
a
dream
team
as
well.
We
cut
this
deal
in
five
minutes.
We
sat
down
with
Brian
Kelly
and
what
we
appreciated
was
three
things:
integrity,
loyalty
and
the
value
of.
D
What's
going
to
come
about
in
this
training,
it
took
five
minutes
for
the
Builder.
It
took
ten
minutes
for
the
architect
who
I
see
in
the
corner
here,
but
al
has
a
great
team
because
not
only
is
esterday
a
fantastic
architect,
but
they're
really
a
builder.
So
for
us
this
is
the
dream
team
we
get
to
work
for
building
our
client
is
a
building.
How
great
is
that
right?
I
have
a
partner
that
says:
I,
don't
want
a
black-owned
firm
I
want
a
partner
that
I
can
help
grow.
D
It
doesn't
really
get
any
better
than
that
and
then
here's
a
training
center
that
helps
young
people
in
the
community
build
this
city.
So
I
want
to
thank
everybody,
and
I
also
want
to
thank
the
mayor
as
well,
because
the
mayor
and
I
have
been
talking
a
lot
about
together
what
we
can
do
about
diversity
in
this
city
moving
forward
and
what
we
could
do
outside
of
the
box,
and
this
is
an
example
of
it.
Private
market
no
requirement
great
team
and
for
the
city.
So
thank
you.
