From YouTube: Roxbury Dunkin' Grand Opening
Description
Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Dunkin' COO Scott Murphy and others speak at the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art Dunkin' restaurant in the heart of Roxbury.
A
And
I'm
gonna
tell
you
this
isn't
just
any
open.
This
is
an
extra-special
opening
because
today
we're
bringing
to
the
wonderful
people
from
Roxbury
that
live
work
and
run
on
Duncan
every
single
day,
something
of
the
future
for
Duncan.
Here
this
is
our
next
generation
restaurant.
It's
one
of
30
that
we're
transforming
in
this
great
city
of
Boston,
and
it's
one
of
60
that
we
have
throughout
the
entire
country
and
there's
no
way
we
could
do
it
without
the
incredible
efforts
of
this
fantastic
franchisee.
Clayton
Turnbull
is
entire
team.
A
A
A
B
C
You
Dan,
as
Dan,
said
it's
an
incredible
day,
may
not
be
incredible
weather
out
there,
but
a
lot
of
great
energy
in
here
so
proud
to
be
part
of
this
celebration,
I've
known
Clayton
for
over
15
years
and
I'll
get
to
that
in
a
moment.
But
for
those
of
you
this
is
the
first
next-gen
restaurant
you've
seen
this
is
where
we
are
transforming
Duncan.
You
heard
we
dropped
the
name
right.
We're
now
Duncan
were
on
a
first-name
basis
with
our
customers,
and
that
was
never
more
evident
than
this
morning.
C
Clayton
introduced
me
to
two
regular
customers,
Mohammed
and
Leon
that
have
come
to
his
restaurants
non-stop
over
the
years
and
that's
what
Duncan
is
all
about.
We've
got
great
new
products.
We've
got
a
great
new
fresh
look
out
there,
but
really
what
brings
it
all
home
are
people
like
Clayton,
I've,
known
him,
15
years,
and
while
this
is
a
special
day
for
this
restaurant,
it's
a
special
day
for
me,
because
what
you
do
for
your
family
for
the
community
and
for
this
brand
I
couldn't
be
prouder.
Clayton,
Turnbull.
D
He's
Scott
thank
you
good
afternoon
good
afternoon.
So
I
know
everybody
thinks
you
know.
We've
heard
my
name
five
times
already,
but,
as
you
know,
I
couldn't
do
it
I
couldn't
do
it
out
a
lot
of
people?
That's
in
this
room,
so
I
couldn't
do
it
out
the
city
of
Boston,
who
has
given
us
the
opportunity
to
go
after
a
piece
of
dirt
and
turn
it
into
something
viable
for
the
community.
So
thanks
mayor
Walsh
and
your
team
for
doing
that
and
John
Barrow.
D
D
And
then
the
chief
of
all
Chiefs
Bianca
in
the
back
Bianca
Bianca
runs
she's
in
charge
of
five
five
plus
stores,
and
this
is
one
of
hers.
So
it's
it's
a
team
effort
to
our
staff
and
everybody
here
so
I
wouldn't
having
just
a
little
bit
of
fun
before
I
get
to
the
mayor,
which
is
raise
your
hand
if
you
watch
the
Red
Sox
game
last
night.
Keep
your
hand
up,
keep
your
hand
up,
keep
your
hand
up.
Okay,
put
your
hand
down.
D
D
You
know
one
of
the
things
you
know:
I
watched
John
barrows
when
he
was
13,
it's
how
long
we
known
each
other.
When
we
go
when
I
go
back
and
I
say
no,
the
man
since
he
was
18.
No,
it's
not
a
brag,
it's
just
how
long
these
connections
last
and
how
you
you're
happy
to
look
back
at
them
and
they
go
for
it.
So
when
we
say
Boston
is
a
real
city,
it's
not
just
some
big
mega
city
with
a
ton
of
people
doing
a
ton
of
things.
D
We
got
connections
everywhere
here,
baby
and
and
the
reason
why
we
built
this
store.
Yes,
we
were
a
profitable
organization
looking
to
grow,
looking
to
make
the
brand
proud
of
us
and
our
family,
but
it's
really
all
about
the
people
of
Roxbury.
We
love
bringing
great
things
to
this
city
and
that's
what
really
turns
us
on
at
the
end
of
the
day,
great
people
doing
great
things
in
this
city
and
that's
what
the
mayor,
I'm
sure
is
proud
to
be
the
mayor
of
so
being.
D
E
Let
me
let
me
just
first
thank
Duncan,
Scott
and
Dan.
The
entire
team
here
at
Duncan
for
your
great
work.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
for
drum
Barros
to
myself,
we're
talking
about
the
relationship
and
how
important
it
is,
and
this
really
is
when
you
look
at
this
story
here.
This
is
this:
is
the
neighbourhoods
play
spot?
This
is
this
is
that
this
is
a
feel
of
a
neighborhood.
We
know
it's
Duncan
brand
and
there's
a
lot
of
Duncan's
all
over
the
city
of
Boston
and
Dunkin
Donuts.
E
All
of
the
city
of
Boston
I
know
it's
Duncan
now,
but
but
this
is
different.
You
can
feel
when
you
walk
in
the
front
door,
you
can
feel
it
I
feel
as
part
of
the
community
I
want
to
thank
Clayton.
He
talks
about
we
met.
First
time
we
met
was
like
nineteen,
probably
eighty,
seven.
Eighty
eight
in
politics,
I,
was
engaged
in
politics
as
a
kid
and
Clayton
was,
was
advocating
for
the
community
back
in
the
day.
E
What
thirteen
and
then
I
the
old
one,
two
five
baby
and
then
I'm
and
then
I
then
then
I
went
off
to
do
my
stuff.
Clayton
was
doing
things
back
then,
but
then
got
really
involved
in
the
business
business
community
and
always
lifting
up
the
community.
I've
watched
him
over
the
years
create
something
and
create
opportunity
for
employment,
for
people
create
opportunities
for
advancing
neighborhoods
in,
in
particular,
Roxbury
I
became
the
mayor
in
2014,
and
one
of
the
very
first
conversations
we
had
Clinton
was
saying
we
got
to
get
things
happening
in
the
neighborhood.
E
We've
got
to
get
things
happening
in
the
neighborhood.
We
talked
about
mixed-use
development.
We
talked
about
opportunities
for
vacant
pieces
of
land,
that's
in
the
Dudley
Square
area
and
in
vacant
piece
land
in
Roxbury.
And
how
do
we?
How
do
we
not
just
build
a
building
on
them?
But
how
do
we
make
that
building
something
more
than
a
building?
And
when
this
this
project
here
is
more
than
a
building?
It's
it's
more
than
more
than
a
coffee
shop.
E
It's
a
place
where
people
are
gonna,
come
in
and
work
and
be
able
to
pay
the
bills
and
be
able
to
live
their
life.
It's
a
place
where
people
are
gonna,
come
out
here
and
hang
out
and
talk
about
the
importance
of
what's
going
on
in
the
neighborhood.
It's
gonna
be
a
place
where
people
are
gonna.
Live
it
talk
about
rejuvenation,
we
don't
need.
E
Clayton
in
your
family,
I
want
to
congratulate
you
and
thank
you
for
investing
and
believing
in
this
city
and
for
constantly
pushing
us
forward
and
pushing
for
the
neighborhoods,
and
that's
that's
what
he
does
and
I
also
want
to
give
a
special
shout
out
to
John
barrows.
You
know
when
we
created
the
office
of
economic
development.
We
really
didn't
have
it
in
the
city.
We
had
it
in
different
departments,
we
didn't
have
it
in
one
location
and
John.
E
What
John
has
done
there
he's
built
an
office
that
really
first
focus
was
on
the
big
stuff
and
then
really
now
the
focus
on
all
the
stuff
and
it's.
How
do
we
create
opportunities
for
small
business?
How
do
we
create
opportunities
for
moving
forward
and
also
Sheila
Dillon
who's?
Not
here
our
chief
of
Housing,
and
how
can
we
take
an
opportunity?
That's
a
business
opportunity
and
an
economic
opportunity
and
mix
that
with
housing,
so
that
people
in
the
neighbor
can
actually
stay
in
the
neighborhood
live
in
the
neighborhood,
an
opportunity
to
live
in
neighborhoods.
E
So
that's
what
this
projects
all
about
and
that's
what
we
need
more
of
in
our
city
here.
So
I
want
to
thank
everybody
who
had
something
to
do
with
this.
The
community.
Thank
you
for,
for
your
advocacy
council
Jenny.
Thank
you
for
your
advocacy
as
a
city
councilor.
We
work
closely
on
a
whole
bunch
of
issues
on.
Thank
you.
I
want
to
thank
God,
Dunkin,
Brands
and
all
the
folks.
Most
importantly,
all
the
people
back
here
you're
the
real
deal.
D
So
one
shoutout
that
I
want
to
do
it.
We've
got
the
counselor.
Here
is
the
building
that
we
constructed.
We
use
a
gentleman
John
Kishan
Curtis
of
Curtis
construction
during
the
development
Tim
Burke,
who
has
been
our
architect,
Tim
Burke,
architects,
who
we've
had
a
couple
of
projects
together.
Now
we
had,
we
blew
open,
we
didn't
even
keep
track
of
the
the
local
and
the
minorities
on
it
because
we
just
blew
it
open.
D
As
far
as
with
John
and
his
people,
contractors
were
one
thing,
we'd
see
if
any
number
you
want
to
talk
about
so
all
the
local
hands.
So
my
other
friend
that
I
have
known
for
many
years
in
five
three
jobs
ago
careers
ago
that
she's
not
pursuing
down
she's
with
the
food
bank
today
and
I
want
to
introduce
Allen
fortunado,
but
Arlene's
been
also
another
fixture
in
the
neighborhoods
as
far
as
working
on
different
organizations
professionally,
but
her
advocacy
has
always
been
pulled
through
each
time
before
she
got
in
the
food
bank.
D
We
she
did
great
jobs
that
Dimmick
community
health
center,
which
I
served
on
the
board
and
cheered
for
nine
years.
But
so
all
the
connections
again
of
people
that
were
talking
about
is
not
someone
we
met
yesterday,
but
Arlene
Fortunato
from
the
Boston
Food
Bank,
who
were
helping
today
and
she'll,
announce
how
we're
doing
that.
F
It's
truly
a
privilege
to
be
part
of
a
community
that
includes
Clayton
Turnbull
and
Mayor
Walsh
on
behalf
of
the
Greater
Boston
Food
Bank.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
all
of
you
today.
Every
cup
of
coffee
that
you
buy
one
dollar
will
go
to
support
the
Greater,
Boston
Food,
Bank
and
phenomenal
amazing
automation,
and
we're
grateful
for
that.
This
is
our
busy
season,
as
you
might
imagine
so,
between
November
and
December,
we
will
raise
enough
money
and
distribute
enough
food
to
provide
12
million
meals,
healthy
meals
to
people
throughout
eastern
Massachusetts.
F
Our
partnership
with
Dunkin
Brands
enables
us
to
do
that,
and
we
are
so
grateful
that
not
only
here
today,
but
at
all
the
new
stores
that
are
opening
throughout
the
the
region.
Every
opening
day,
one
dollar
from
every
cup
of
coffee
goes
to
the
Greater
Boston
Food
Bank.
So
we
are
grateful
and
we
wish
you
all
a
happy
holiday
season
and
thank
you
again
for
supporting
the
Greater
Boston
Food
Bank.
D
D
G
Just
very
quickly,
good
morning,
everyone
good
afternoon,
my
name
is
Kim
Janey
I
have
the
honor
of
representing
Roxbury
on
the
Boston
City
Council
and
I
just
want
to
extend
my
gratitude
and
congratulations
to
Clayton
for
his
leadership
and
his
work
in
our
community.
This
is
amazing
project
here.
Thank
you
for
hitting
your
numbers.
I
just
had
a
hearing
the
other
day
around
construction
numbers,
but
this
is
an
amazing
meeting.
G
Space
in
our
community
and
in
a
coffee,
shops
and
cafes
are
central
to
bringing
neighbors
together
in
building
community
I
had
just
last
week,
coffee
hours
right
here,
you
have
an
amazing
team,
very
courteous,
very
professional.
This
is
just
a
great
space
and
I'm
just
grateful
for
all
the
work,
and
your
leadership.
I
also
want
to
extend
my
appreciation
to
the
mayor
and
his
team
and
everyone
that
is
here.
So
just
thank
you.
