From YouTube: Charlestown Community Impact Fund Recognition
Description
Little League baseball, local libraries, and veterans groups sometimes need extra money to support the people in the community they serve. These were among the 50 different nonprofit organizations that received $375,000 in funding thanks to the Charlestown Community Impact Fund. At the Knights of Columbus Hall in Charlestown, Mayor Walsh recognizes the work of the Fund and the nonprofits who benefited from it.
A
A
How
about
a
round
of
applause
then
to
get
these
festivities
going
because
we're
all
here
for
a
great
thing-
and
you
know
the
mayor-
is
among
us-
I'm
just
gonna
turn
this
over
to
him.
I,
don't
have
to
tell
you
who
the
mayor
is
because
he's
the
man
and
his
signs
are
all
over
the
place,
and
it
says
honorable,
mayor,
Walsh
and
I
have
I
agree
with
that
completely
so
he's
gonna
tell
us
what's
going
on
how
this
all
came
to
be,
and
that's
it.
A
B
You
thank
you
very
much
for
that
kind.
Introduction,
I
didn't
listen
to
a
word.
You
said,
but
thank
you
very
much
as
they
actually
did
I.
Thank
you.
Tony
I
want
to
thank
Tony
as
well
for
what
he
does
for
this
town.
I
know
he
lives
here,
but
anytime,
there's
an
event
going
on
for
charity
or
doing
something
positive
he's
always
there
so
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that
and
always
give
me
a
view.
Time.
I
also
want
to
thank
a
few
elected
officials.
They're
gonna
cooperate
and
speak
in
a
few
minutes.
B
City
council,
michael
flower,
you
see
I
would
thank
you
Michael
as
well
for
all
your
work.
I
know
that
selling
betina's
on
his
way.
I,
don't
think
you
see
it
yet.
Colin
thanks.
Al
I
also
want
to
thank
your
former
state
representative,
Jean
O'flaherty
who's
here
with
us.
That
would
be
Jade
and
I
want
to
thank
Bob
Savio
from
win-win
Boston
Harbor
for
your
support
and
thank
you
as
well
for
for
what
you're
doing
this
is
a
this
is
an
exciting
night.
It's
exciting
for
a
lot
of
different
reasons.
B
We've
had
a
long
road
to
get
to
this
point,
but
when
you
have
a
development,
that's
happening
not
too
far
from
this
building
and
when
you
get
an
opportunity
to
give
back
to
the
community
that
Lake
was
agreed
upon
by
Bob,
and
his
team
worked
with
Sal
and
Danny
myself
and
Jean
and
Michel
and
a
few
other
folks,
and
to
think
about
an
opportunity
to
get
back
to
the
nonprofits
in
Charlestown.
It's
incredible!
B
I
want
to
take
a
minute
to
thank
the
board
members
who
had
to
go
through
all
of
the
requests
that
came
in
and
go
through
them
just
to
make
sure
that
everything
was
covered
and
just
so
people
understand
I
mean
this
is
a.
This
is
a
pretty
wide
range
of
programs
that
had
received
the
first
check
by
the
way,
once
the
casinos
built
every
year,
the
money
is
going
to
go
up
and
I'm
walk,
not
certain
overview,
but
certain
up
to
a
million
dollars.
B
We
have
a
million
dollars
into
the
community
and
we're
gonna
be
able
to
do
it.
I
think
it's
gonna
show
me
they
like
this
in
two
different
spring
and
fall
for
all
different
organizations,
but
the
program
areas,
onca,
Culture,
Sports,
mentoring,
job
training,
substance,
abuse,
recovery,
substance,
abuse
and
recovery,
health
and
wellness,
so
many
other,
so
many
other
other
programs,
ranging
from
basically
newborns
to
seniors
that
live
in
this
community
where
this
money's
gonna
go.
It
affects
incredible
programs.
As
you
know
this.
This
neighborhood
has
incredible
programs,
whether
it's
sports
league.
B
You
see
a
lot
of
kids
here
today
from
sports
leagues,
one
thank
you
boy
or
chat
abilities
here
in
Chad.
The
great
work
that
Chad
has
done.
Chow
is
actually
ahead
of
its
time,
Charles
and
again
trucks.
That
organization
was
set
up
a
long
time
ago
and
and
that
model
has
been
taken
around
the
city
of
Boston.
You
think
about
the
Boys
and
Girls
Club
down
the
street.
B
Special
talent
ease
all
the
different
organizations
that
are
in
this
town,
the
senior
programs
in
the
different
parts
of
the
different
buildings
and
in
the
town,
the
parade
and
and
not
just
having
the
parade,
but
the
remember
in
the
parade
or
the
freight
here
in
Charlestown,
the
remembering
of
great
people
who
came
from
this
town
and
the
celebration,
the
support
and
the
love
of
this
town.
So
this
this
truly
is
a
special
special
place
in
this
opportunity
is
a
special
opportunity.
B
We
want
to
make
sure
that
as
we
to
move
forward
here
in
the
city,
that
we
preserve
the
quality
of
life
of
Charlestown
and
make
sure
that
that's
what
these
funds
represent
actually
continuing.
This
great
support
of
the
people
that
live
here
and
in
the
end
of
what's
been
done
over
generations
so
again,
I
want
to
thank
you.
One
benefit
as
well.
That
is
on
its
way.
Is
the
reconstruction
of
Sullivan,
Square
and
rot.
The
phenomena
in
this
project
is
a
catalyst
to
making
that
happen.
B
You
know
got
a
lot
of
talk
of
a
lot
of
conversation
about
it
for
the
last
20
years
in
the
city
and
there's
been
a
lot
of
talk
and
design
and
redesign
and
another
redesign
and
in
this
project,
really
is
going
to
be
the
catalyst,
and
you
know
it
wasn't
the
North
Point
project
in
Cambridge
that
got
it
going.
It
wasn't.
The
assembly
row
project
in
Somerville,
I
got
it
going.
B
It
was
this
very
project
that
it
cut
it
going
so
we're
gonna
continue
to
work
with
the
city
with
the
state,
with
the
community
on
that
on
that
on
that
peaceful
before,
because
that's
I
think
the
biggest
win
for
a
lot
of
people
in
this
room
I
want
to
end
just
end
by
saying
this,
I
want
to
congratulate
all
the
nonprofit
organizations
that
are
here.
I
want
to
thank
you
congratulating
for
tonight
for
the
on
this
award
on
the
recognition,
but
I
want
to
thank
you
for
the
work
you
do.
You
know.
B
B
We
have
30,000
new
people
living
in
our
city,
we're
growing
as
a
city
or
build
more
housing,
then
really,
then
almost
any
other
period,
the
history
of
our
city
and
when
it
comes
to
policing
we're
seeing
we're
seeing
a
reduction
in
violence
in
our
city
and
we're
also
seeing
a
reduction
in
arrests
in
our
city
and
not
that
that
the
Charlestown
was
a
big
part
of
that.
But
but
what
is
important
is
that
the
groups
and
the
nonprofit's,
the
work
you
do,
you
impact
kids
all
over
the
city
of
Boston.
B
You
impact
young
people
all
over
the
city
of
Boston
and
some
of
those
numbers
are
directly
impactful
for
the
work
that
you
do
and
do
the
work
you
do
so
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
your
work
every
single
day
on
behalf
of
the
people
of
this
town.
So
thank
you
for
that,
and
without
further
ado,
I'm
gonna
ask
I'm
gonna,
ask
us
you
Fenian
Sal
come
on
up
here,
Michael
might
be
a
Bob
I'm.
B
C
C
Also
Jenny.
Would
you
wave
Jenny
Peterson
another
Charlestown
resident,
who
is
just
recently
promoted
a
twin,
and
this
is
somebody
that
you're
going
to
want
to
have
on
speed-dial
she's
our
new
director
of
employment
and
has
the
task
of
hiring
what
Jenny
only
4,000
people
over
the
next
year
and
a
half?
So
congratulations
Jenny
and
thank
you
for
everything
you
do.
C
I
also
want
to
acknowledge
al
carrier.
When
I
first
came
to
town
three
and
a
half
years
ago,
we
were
looking
to
see
if
we
can
get
involved
in
the
Charlestown
community,
because
we
knew
that
as
being
our
neighbors.
How
important
this
community
was
to
us
and
I
remember
meeting
up
with
Al,
and
we
were
talking
about
Little
League
back
then,
and
it
was
an
entree
was
the
first
time
we
put
our
toe
in
the
water
of
doing
something
community-based
and
Al.
Helped
us
through
that
and
he's
now
part
of
the
wind
team
as
well.
C
Gregg
John
is
here
our
he's,
our
executive
director
of
brand
marketing
and
also
Charlestown
resident,
and
so
on
behalf
of
the
whole
wind
team.
I
just
want
to
say,
welcome
and
most
importantly,
I
want
to
thank
all
of
the
nonprofit's
that
are
represented
here
tonight.
You
guys
do
an
amazing
job
for
the
community.
This
is
something
very
special
to
us.
C
D
Thank
you
just
real
briefly.
I
just
want
to
kind
of
go
over
a
little
bit
of
the
history
here
like
five
seconds,
but
when
I
came
into
office
chassé
on
state
representative,
first
time
in
a
very
long
time,
the
casino
issue
hit
us
right
in
the
face
I
had
to
deal
with
the
entire
year.
I
got
to
know
the
Gaming
Commission
like
they
were.
D
It's
not
the
same.
Life
is
gonna,
be
all
beds
and
roses,
and
all
that,
but
when
you're
stuck
in
that
traffic
and
you're
getting
home-
and
you
got
to
get
the
kids
to
swim
and
you've
got
to
get
them
to
football
and
to
cheerleading
into
hockey
there's
a
couple
thousand
less
dollars
you
have
to
raise
to
because
of
the
work
done
by
the
committee.
My
friend
Sal,
who
I
think
is
gonna,
be
a
great
writer
in
his
next
career
in
my
flowery
sense
and
sld
dominicano.
D
So
I
just
want
you
to
know
that
that
money
was
set
aside,
because
the
mayor,
the
city,
the
the
wind
folks,
recognized
the
work
already
being
done
here
in
Charleston.
We
have
organizations
here
that
serve
everybody
from
this
big
into
a
golden
age
and
we
do
ice.
We
do
sports,
we
do
it
all,
and
it
was
because
of
you,
the
chasten
community,
that
these
guys
ought
to
be
here.
So
thank
you
all
in
a
minute
over
tonight
and
Sal
Latino,
our
City
Council.
E
F
E
Say
when
the
minute
first
got
elected
day,
one
call
me:
there's
the
offices
cell.
We
have
a
big
issue
we
have
to
deal
with,
and
that
was
a
casino.
They
had
it
in
East
Boston,
who
was
the
Illuminati's
faucet
and
everything,
but
I
need
to
give
the
mayor
in
Jean
a
lot
of
credit.
They
worked
a
deal
to
make
sure
that
Charlestown
is
going
to
be
taken
care
of
and
the
miracle
to
put
that
in
a
general
fund,
but
he
said
nope
that
money
as
we
spend
in
Charlestown.
E
E
E
G
He
said
that
they
he's
now
see
you
later
Sal,
so,
but
it's
great
to
be
here
with
all
of
my
friends
from
Charlestown.
I
first
want
to,
thank
obviously
think
him
the
mayor
and
for
the
great
work
that
he
has
done
for
this
community,
not
just
but
with
this
mitigation
fund,
but
also
what
he's
doing
for
the
entire
city
of
Boston
and
what
he's
doing
for
this
community
in
particular,
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
for
all
the
work
that
he's
doing
each
and
every
day
for
this
community,
and
he
fought
hard
for
this
community.
G
So
this
is
a
great
great
presentation
of
what
Charlestown
is
all
about
and
giving
back
to
our
community
and
making
sure
we
got
seamstick
taken
care
of
our
kids
taken
care
of,
and
the
mayor
realized
that
really
on,
and
he
addressed
it
and
he's
at
a
great
job.
Providing
all
the
support
for
all
of
you
here
tonight.
So
I
want
to
thank
him
to
thank
his
administration
and
my
good
friend
Jean,
who
has
been
the
protector
of
Charlestown
for
many
many
years
and,
of
course,
my
my
partner's
representative
Jenny
Ryan,
who
is
mr.
G
Chow's
town
mr.
Chow's
time,
Danny
Ryan
and
my
good
friend,
Salomon
Tina,
big
stuff,
but
now
I'm
gonna,
be
the
only
Sal.
So
I
want
to
thank
him
for
all
of
his
work
from
this
community
as
well
11
years,
but
in
particular,
being
a
good
friend
to
so
many
of
you
in
this
room.
So
thank
you
very
much
for
your
support
and
thank
you
for
what
you
do
for
our
community.
F
You
just
come
to
chop
stone
used
to
be
Sully,
Sully
fitzy,
it's
now
sale
and
Sal.
What
happened,
but
it's
great
to
be
in
one
of
the
greatest
neighborhoods
in
the
city
and
that's
Charlestown
I'm
here,
obviously,
as
your
at-large
council
really
to
be
a
teammate
to
a
great
elected
delegation
that
you
have
obviously
started
with
Gino
and
in
the
house,
and
obviously
with
Danny
and
and
Sal.
But
I'm
a
was
the
one
that
really
dove
in
on
this
Charlie
after
getting
elected
to
kind
of
get
it
on
the
right
track.
F
F
They
bleed
o
to
1
to
9,
and
it's
exciting
to
be
here.
It's
exciting
that
you're
gonna
be
getting
these
funds
to
continue
to
carry
on
your
mission,
maybe
help
you
lift
a
little
bit
easier,
moving
forward
as
you're,
putting
together
youth
programs
and
programs
for
our
seniors
and
for
our
nonprofits
and
for
those
in
recovery.
So
I'm
excited
to
be
here
to
share
a
little
bit
of
the
spotlight
with
your
elected
delegation
here
so
enjoy
those
funds
put
them
to
great
use.
Like
I
know,
you
will
and
continue
to
make
Charlestown
proud.
D
All
right-
and
we
are
just
about
done
what
we
would
like
to
do-
if
you
can't
we're
gonna
put
the
music
back
on
people,
can
go
dinner.
We'd
like
to
take
a
few
pictures,
though
so
each
while
the
music's
going.
Could
we
have
a
couple
of
people
from
each
organization?
What
we
want
to
do
is
one
big
group
photo
with
every
organization
representative
represented
and
then
we'll
hang
around.
D
If
people
want
to
take
individual
photos
and
things
like
that,
but
other
than
that
just
enjoy
the
night
celebrate
each
other
I,
don't
know
this
might
be
the
first
time
we
had
this
many
organizations
all
at
once
together.
So
this
is
a
big
moment
for
child
song.
I
also
just
want
to
thank
Tom
tuna
in
the
Knights
of
Columbus
for
giving
us
the
longshot
notice.
