Oasis on Ballou is an urban agriculture project that helps bring fresh produce to the surrounding community. Mayor Wu and US Dept. of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Jewel Bronaugh were given a tour of the Dorchester based farm.

Square
neighborhood

Corporation,
where
housing
is
first,
but
we
really
do
take
a
360
approach
to
it
and
we
know
that
it
is
more
than
bricks
and
mortar
and
it's
also
about
feeding
our
people.

brooms
from
a
landfill
and
fill
them
real
holes
in
them
fill
them
with
quality,
soiled
mix
and
we
have
grown
garlic.
We
have
grown
sweet
potatoes
and
we
have
ground
Greens
in
this.
If
we
could
turn
these
Farms
into
hubs
for
distribution,
everybody
wins.
This
is
all
part
of
the
Harvest
out
of
the
seeds,
of
a
better
relationship
with
our
food
system,
and
it
is
definitely
worth
every
penny
of
the
investment.
