B
So
tonight
we
have
a
very
special
program
for
you
all
where
we're
going
to
be
honoring,
50
women,
who
are
doing
such
great
work
in
our
neighborhoods
in
our
community
and
in
our
city,
contributing
so
much
to
the
culture
contributing
so
much
to
the
business
ecosystem
here.
But
before
we
get
started,
we're
going
to
kick
it
off
with
a
dance
performance
from
Lil
Funk.
They
are
the
official
Celtics,
dance
team
and
I
need
you
all
to
clap
it
up
for
them
and
get
the
energy
up
so
that
they
can
perform
for
us.
G
D
D
I
I
E
B
Once
again,
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
really
thank
the
mayor's
office
of
women's
advancement
and
Equity
cabinet
for
putting
this
event
on
tonight,
oftentimes
as
women.
We
do
not
make
the
time
to
celebrate
ourselves.
So
I'm
really
grateful
to
be
here
with
you
all
the
opportunity
to
really
celebrate
the
Trailblazers
that
are
in
our
community,
the
women
who
serve
as
sisters
who
serve
as
aunts
as
mothers
and
are
really
doing
the
work
to
lead
the
change
in
our
community.
So
I'm
going
to
ask
you
all
to
do
a
quick
exercise.
B
If
you
don't
mind
I'd,
like
you
all,
to
just
turn
to
the
woman
next
to
you
and
let
her
know
that
I
see
you
I
celebrate
you
and
I
love
you
one
more
time.
With
a
little
bit
more
energy
I
see
some
hugs
look
to
the
woman,
the
other
woman.
Next
to
you,
I
celebrate
you
and
I
love.
You
I
love
that
thank
you
so
much
for
participating
in
that.
B
So
many
of
us
women
serve
in
fields
and
industries
that
are
dominated
by
people
who
either
don't
look
like
us,
or
people
who
are
men.
So
I
really
want
to
make
sure
that
everybody
has
a
chance
to
just
celebrate
everybody
that
is
in
the
room.
All
of
us
who
are
doing
things
doing
the
unexpected
things
doing
all
the
things
that
are
driving
big
change,
doing
the
things
that
are
in
our
home
that
a
lot
of
people
don't
see
as
big
things
so
once
again,
clap
it
up
for
yourselves.
B
B
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
service
there's
also
a
number
of
city
offices
and
City
agencies
represented
here
tonight.
So
if
you
haven't
gotten
a
chance
to
talk
to
a
lot
of
other
people
in
the
room,
I'd
love
for
you
guys
to
have
the
opportunity
opportunity
to
learn
a
little
bit
more
about
what
the
city
of
Boston
has
to
offer
to
various
constituencies,
so
make
sure
that
you
take
the
time
to
really
just
Network
and
connect
with
each
other,
because
that's
what
this
event
is
all
about.
That's
what
women's
history
month
is
all
about.
B
So
our
lovely
lovely
mayor
just
walked
into
the
room.
B
K
K
With
a
few
of
you
all
who
are
here
in
the
room,
can
we
clap
it
up
again
for
some
of
our
cabinet
members,
like
our
chief
of
communications,
chief
of
equity,
inclusion,
chief
of
community
engagement,
I
am
I,
basically
just
wake
up
every
day
and
a
group
of
powerful
women
tell
me
what
I'm
doing
for
the
day
and
and
where
to
go
and-
and
we
dig
in
build
the
team
and
make
sure
that
we're
connecting
with
our
communities.
K
You
all
are
here
because
or
the
the
many
of
you
all
who
and
your
supporters
are
here,
because
you've
been
nominated
and
lifted
up
as
people
who
are
reshaping
the
direction
that
our
city
is
headed
in,
and
we
wanted
to
celebrate
you
because,
in
order
to
get
to
where
we
need
to
go
for
all
of
Boston,
we
need
everyone
involved.
We
need
all
of
Boston
pushing
and
moving
forward.
So
your
efforts
as
artists
as
entrepreneurs
as
family
members
and
community
members.
K
Please
know
that
we
see
you.
We
know
a
little
bit
of
how
hard
it
can
be
to
find
the
strength
and
to
find
the
time
and
to
find
the
resources
to
invest
in
community.
So
much
and
we
want
to
know
we
want
you
to
know
that
we
want
to
invest
in
you
as
individuals
as
well.
So
we're
here
to
celebrate
you
and
give
you
your
flowers
for
all
that
you
do
to
serve
our
communities.
I
want
to
give
a
special
thanks
to
our
office
of
our
cabinet
of
equity
and
inclusion.
K
Who
is
like
could
walk
the
runway
tonight
if
you've
seen
it.
She
looks
absolutely
amazing
the
work
that
is
emanating
out
of
this
office
and
this
cabinet,
and
this
Administration
recognizes
how
interconnected
everything
is
that
we
we
need
to
do,
and
so
the
efforts
to
push
forward
on
gender
justice
must
necessarily
be
connected
to
and
move
forward
with
racial
Justice
with
economic
Justice.
K
The
work
that
we're
doing
for
women
in
Boston
must
be
the
same
and
connected
with
what
we're
doing
for
our
lgbtq
community,
with
our
seniors
with
our
communities
representing
every
facet
and
every
corner
of
our
city,
so
I.
Thank
you
tonight
and
hope
that
you
can
bottle
up
this
gratitude
to
keep
it
going
day
in
and
day
out,
because
we
know
how
how
hard
you
all
work,
how
many
people
you
are
representing
and
fighting
for
and
on
behalf
of
the
entire
city
of
Boston.
We
are
right
there
alongside
you
to
make
this
entire
city
extraordinary.
B
B
L
Hi
good
morning,
good
morning,
good
evening,
my
head
is
still
stuck
in
this
morning,
as
we
can
tell
how's
everyone
feeling
well
what
an
honor
to
be
here
and
what
an
honor
to
be
celebrating
all
of
you,
it's
it
makes
me
feel
like
tonight.
We
are
not
just
celebrating
our
honorees,
but
we're
also
celebrating
every
terrible
Barrister.
That's
here
today.
I
want
to
give
it
up
to
all
of
you
who
are
here
today.
L
But
most
of
all,
I
want
to
thank
our
amazing
mayor,
our
amazing
leader,
that
every
single
day
wakes
up
and
thinks
how
are
we
going
to
make
Boston
a
better
City
for
all
of
us
and
this
event
wouldn't
be
able
to
be
put
together
by
an
amazing
team
of
I'm
going
to
just
mention
a
few
names
and
I'm?
Sorry,
if
I
forgot,
Karina
Susan
and
every
single
person,
Laurie
the
equity
cabinet
and
our
amazing
Chief
Mari
angelis,
for
making
sure
that
this
event
is
possible.
Today,.
L
I
know
you
guys
didn't
come
to
hear
me
talk,
but
I
am
truly
honored,
that
all
of
you
have
been
selected
by
your
peers
by
community
members
and
I.
Want
you
to
take
tonight
and
soak
it
up
and
know
that
we
are
here
to
celebrate
you.
But
most
of
all
we
want
you
to
celebrate
yourself.
L
B
This
first
group
of
women
that
I'm
going
to
invite
up
really
serve
as
the
engine
of
our
city.
These
women
keep
our
city
going,
whether
it
is
providing
us
with
nutritious
food.
Great
Vibes
fashion
looks
all
of
that.
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
honor
our
women,
small
business
owners
and
entrepreneurs.
B
Take
some
time
to
really
honor
and
celebrate
these
small
business
owners
being
a
woman
and
a
business
owner
is
not
an
easy
feat:
we
honor
you
all.
We
celebrate
your
excellence
and
we
thank
you
for
all
that.
You
do
for
the
city
and
Beyond
really
appreciate
the
energy
in
the
room
tonight
best
way
to
kick
off
a
Friday
evening.
B
All
right
for
this
next
group
of
women,
they
allow
us
to
not
only
see
the
beauty
in
everything,
but
also
to
express
ourselves
through
creativity
and
also
heal
ourselves
to
creativity
as
well
too.
I'd
like
to
take
a
moment
to
recognize
the
women
artists
who
were
nominated
this
evening.
Amanda
Shea,
multi-disciplinary
artist,.
B
B
All
right,
let's
keep
the
energy
high
for
women
who
are
really
leading
the
way
for
change
in
our
city.
They
are
consistently
advocating
not
only
for
themselves,
but
for
the
woman
in
front
of
them.
The
women
behind
them
constantly
lifting
each
other
up
as
they
climb
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
honor
the
women
that
are
constantly
advocating,
not
just
for
us,
but
when
you
advocate
for
women,
you
advocate
for
everybody.
So
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
really
take
to
really
honor
the
women
that
are
pushing
for
change.
B
B
Alrighty
for
this
next
group
of
women,
this
job
is
not
easy
at
all.
Keeping
our
community
safe,
keeping
our
communities
healthy
working
in
a
male
dominated
industry
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
honor
some
of
the
ladies
from
our
Boston
Police
Department
I'd
like
to
invite
Christine
Malia
Marini
police
officer
at
the
Boston
Police
Department
area,
D14
and
I'd
like
to
invite
Evelyn
Johnson
domestic
violence
advocate
for
Boston
Police,
Department
c-11.
B
M
M
M
M
So
I
just
want
to
say
this
when
I
walked
around
the
room,
as
you
all
were
coming
in
I
thought
of
different
words
to
describe
what
I
saw
so
I
saw,
Beauty
I
saw
royalty,
I
saw
a
strength,
I
saw
resilience,
I
saw
Fierce
right,
then
I
looked
around
and
I
saw
this
wonderful,
Community
being
built,
persons
were
reuniting
people
who
had
not
seen
each
other
in
a
while
that
was
community,
and
that
was
Unity.
M
I
want
to
submit
that
women
extraordinary
woman
do
this
every
day,
and
that's
why
you
are
here
and
that's
why
we're
celebrating
you
today,
and
so
we
want
to
thank
you
on
behalf
of
the
city
of
Boston,
for
all
that
you
do
to
the
awardees,
and
there
are
many
and
they
are
so
deserving.
Can
we
give
it
up
again
for
all
of
the
awardees.
M
B
If
you
compliment
a
woman,
she
goes
I'm
trying
to
be
like
you
and
I'm
like
I
love,
her
seriously,
all
right
without
further
Ado
I
want
to
take
some
time
to
recognize
the
women
who
are
really
doing
their
best
to
keep
us
healthy,
not
only
physically
but
emotionally
mentally.
As
women
we
endure
so
much
and
oftentimes.
B
We
are
always
prioritizing
other
people's
health
over
our
own,
so
I
think
these
women,
we
honor
these
women
for
continuing
to
inspire
us
to
put
ourselves
first
so
that
we
can
bring
our
best
selves
and
really
we
can't
take
care
of
everyone
else
without
taking
care
of
ourselves.
First,
so
I'd
like
to
invite
Denise,
Marielle,
Jimenez,
behavioral
and
wellness
facility
to
the
stage.
B
B
All
right
for
this
next
group,
they
really
represent
the
women
that
we
are
working
so
hard
to
pass
the
Baton
to
the
women
that
we
hope
will
take
over
and
take
charge.
As
we
continue
to
do
our
efforts.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
also
lifting
other
women
as
we
climb,
and
this
group
of
women
is
the
emerging
leaders.
B
B
N
Good
evening
everybody,
my
name
is
Gabriella
Coletta
I'm,
the
city
councilor
representing
East
Boston
Charleston
in
the
North
End
Kenzie,
come
up.
Come
up.
I
feel
incredibly
lucky
to
be
here
tonight
to
celebrate
some
of
these
incredible
women
who
really
put
their
themselves
first
or
excuse
me.
They
put
themselves
last
after
the
community.
They
really
dig
in.
They
are
resilient,
I'm,
looking
at
Sandra
Najar
from
the
East
Boston
soup
kitchen,
who
was
absolutely
incredible,
we're
going
to
honor
her
soon
xyla.
N
You
know
nights
where
they
could
be
spending
with
their
family
they're
working
on
behalf
of
the
community
they're
working
on
on
behalf
of
their
neighborhoods
and
so
I'm
really
lucky
to
be
here,
I'm,
so
honored
to
share
this
moment
with
all
of
you.
Thank
you
so
much
for
everything
you
do
everybody
make
sure
that
you
Empower
one
another
and
you
lift
each
other
up
right.
Please
empower
the
women
coming
up
after
you
try
to
Mentor
as
many
women
as
you
can
right,
because
we
got
here
for
a
reason,
but
it's
now
our
job.
H
Hi
everyone
I'm
Kenzie
I've
got
Mission
Hill,
Fenway
Back
Bay
Beacon
Hill
in
the
West
End
great
set
of
neighborhoods
and
I
think
you
know
really
lucky
I'm
here.
Obviously
the
counselor
Coletta
and
counselor
Mejia
were
three
of
eight
women
on
the
Boston
city
council.
These
days.
H
So
you
know
we
like
to
let
the
men
know
they
can
be
Boston
City
councilors
too,
but
you
know
I
just
I'm
looking
at
this
room
and
thinking
about
how
it
wasn't
that
long
ago
that
people
would
have
like
said.
Oh,
this
is
the
kind
of
room
we
might
aspire
to
have
someday
represent
the
city
of
Boston,
and
this
room
is
the
city
of
Boston.
H
Think
in
many
ways
it's
less
that
we
have
a
leadership
role
and
more
that
we
have
a
ringside
seat
to
all
the
amazing
things
that
each
of
you
are
doing
to
invest
in
our
communities
and
one
of
the
great
privileges
of
being
a
counselor
is
getting
to
like
see
that
whole
Kaleidoscope
of
effort
that
goes
into
making
the
city
a
great
place
and
and
women
are
holding
up
way
more
than
half
that
sky.
So
thank
you
guys
thanks.
So
much
and
I
want
to
turn
this
over.
O
O
O
Okay,
Alex
better
day,
I
see
you
better,
listen,
I
know
right,
you
can't
give
me
a
mic.
I,
don't
know
what
to
do
with
it.
My
job
but
I
just
really
wanted
to
come
here
and
remind
you
all
that
as
women
right
I'm,
Gonna,
Leave
You,
with
a
few
things
to
think
about
right.
O
We
have
arrived
and
we
are
occupying
spaces
in
places
and
letting
people
know
that
not
only
are
we
here,
but
we're
not
going
anywhere
so
get
ready,
because
this
is
just
like
I
like
to
say
we're
just
getting
started.
We
have
eight
women
on
the
city
council
and
we
know
that
there
are
a
lot
more
who
are
ready
to
join
us.
So,
as
you
continue
to
step
into
your
power
to
really
recognize
what
this
moment
is
all
about
in
The
Boardroom
in
Commissions
in
all
spaces
and
places.
O
B
Alrighty
I
I
did
not
get
to
try
the
food
tonight,
but
I
hear
that
it's
really
good,
so
I'd
like
us
to
take
some
time
to
really
just
thank
the
workers
who
are
here
tonight.
The
staff
at
Park
Plaza,
the
chefs,
everyone
who
is
involved
in
making
this
event
a
success
tonight.
Thank
you
so
much
for
everything
for
making
this
event
so
powerful.
P
P
P
I
have
nowhere
to
explain
what
I'm
seeing
in
front
of
me
when
mayor,
Wu
and
I
talked
about
what
we
could
do
together
under
the
equity
and
inclusion
cabinet.
This
is
what
we
were
talking
about.
How
do
we
make
sure
that
we're
bringing
everybody
women
with
disabilities
women
who
are
black
women,
who
are
Latina
women,
who
are
Asian
women?
Who
are
immigrant
women?
Who
are
poor
women
who
are
entrepreneurs
every
single
woman
in
the
city
of
Boston
together
to
say
enough
enough?
P
P
B
Yes,
we
have
our
office
of
lgbtq
plus
advancement
that
is
repping
in
the
back
and
consistently
holding
us
accountable
to
make
sure
that
everybody
feels
seen
everybody
feels
heard
and,
most
importantly,
everybody
feels
safe
to
be
who
they
are
wherever
they
are.
So
thank
you
so
much
for
your
work.
I
want
to
give
a
quick
shout
out
to
the
office
in
the
back
all
right.
Our
next
group
of
women
we'd
like
to
take
some
time
to
honor
and
recognize
our
non-profit
change
makers.
