A
B
Thank
you
everyone
for
joining
us
today.
If
anybody
would
like
there's
plenty
of
seats
available,
don't
be
afraid,
elected
officials,
distinguished
guests
and,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
on
behalf
of
v---aids
Board
of
Directors,
executive,
director
and
staff.
We
thank
you
for
coming
to
join
us
today
to
celebrate
the
opening
of
the
upper
Washington
projects
in
four
corners.
Viet
Aid
was
founded
in
1994
and
said
its
mission
towards
building
a
strong,
Vietnamese,
American
community
and
transforming
fields
corner
into
a
vibrant,
diverse
neighborhood
through
promoting
civic
engagement,
building,
affordable
housing
and
commercial
development.
B
We
excited
to
see
the
continuation
of
our
mission
as
it
expands
in
dorchester
and
provide
services
to
the
greater
community
since
its
creation,
Viet
Aid
has
developed
88,
affordable
housing
units
with
four
projects
in
the
fields.
Corner
neighborhood
and
we've
had
a
successful
track
record
in
developing
and
improving
neighborhoods.
The
time
effort
and
struggles
from
conception
to
construction
are
all
well
worth
the
joy
and
happiness
that
we
witnessed
when
new
tenants
move
in
today.
B
We
are
pleased
to
announce
the
opening
of
Via
dei
its
fifth
affordable
housing
project
called
the
upper
Washington
apartment,
which
leads
Via
dei
beyond
the
fields
corner
neighborhood
into
four
corners,
providing
35,
affordable
housing
units
and
including
two
vibrant
community-based
commercial
spaces,
and
bringing
our
total
to
135,
affordable
units
in
Dorchester.
We're
also.
B
The
four-corners
main
street's
is
committed
to
fostering
commercial
revitalization
and
strengthening
small
businesses
and
partnership
with
the
community
and
four
corners.
Yoga
and
wellness
is
a
startup
business
with
a
mission
to
serve
the
community
with
taking
charge
of
their
health
and
wellness.
We're
excited
to
see
the
benefits
of
their
business
in
the
neighborhood.
B
Under
the
leadership
of
governor
Charlie
Baker
J,
Ashe,
secretary
of
the
executive
office
of
Housing
and
Economic
Development,
and
crystal
cabernet
Undersecretary
of
the
Department
of
Housing
and
Community
Development.
We
benefited
from
critical
early
support
from
c-dac
working
with
Sarah
Barkin
and
also
received
funding
from
mass
development
and
the
Federal
Home
Loan
Bank
of
Boston.
Our
private
sector
financial
partners
were
Eastern
Bank
for
both
construction
and
permanent
financing
and
RBC
Capital
Markets
for
tax
credit
equity.
B
We'd
also
like
to
thank
our
architect
util
and
Nasik
construction,
our
general
contractors,
a
special
thank
yous,
go
to
our
interim
executive
director
Jeff
Katz,
whose
leadership
and
guidance
during
our
transition
this
past
year
has
been
truly
inspiring,
also
Eric
Bellinger
our
real
estate
director,
who
came
to
v8
in
the
last
year,
but
has
worked
tirelessly
to
complete
the
Upper,
Washington
apartment
and
also
Henry
Joseph.
Our
development
consultant,
who
stepped
in
to
help
take
the
lead
when
we
were
looking
for
more
assistance.
B
B
In
the
last
four
years
as
mayor
as
our
mayor,
he
has
pledged
to
provide
more
affordable
housing
units
so
that
local
residents
can
stay
in
the
neighborhoods
because
he
understands
that
a
neighborhood
is
comprised
of
people
who
live
to
support
each
other,
as
our
city
grows
to
new
heights
in
population
business
and
development,
his
housing,
Boston
2030
strategic
plan
will
help
ensure
that
all
our
residents
will
benefit
from
its
prosperity.
We
thank
him
for
his
continued
support
and
we
are
thrilled
to
take
part
in
his
initiative.
C
You
know,
via
date,
has
gone
through
a
little
transition
last
couple
of
years,
but
Viet
aids
organization
in
our
city
and
endure
in
particular,
is
very
important
for
the
housing
that
they're
built
for
the
service
they
provide
the
via
date
Center
on
child
Street
is
open
to
the
community
and
that
that
that
that
Hall,
what
happens
in
that
hall
and
I
just
want
to
thank
him
for
leading
Viet
a
through
these
times
and
and
congratulate
ER
and
do
an
incredible
job
and
VA
is
gonna,
be
fine.
So,
and
this
is
the
congratulations
on
there.
C
Certainly
want
to
thank
crystal
Carnegie
as
well,
but
she's,
not
here
today.
I,
don't
think
so.
Terry's
here
and
I
want
to
thank
sue
because
I
know
sue
for
a
long
time
as
well
and
and
the
work
that
Sue's
done
in
the
housing
space
is
important.
Obviously,
but
all
of
her,
whatever
she's
done
in
their
career,
has
always
been
around
social
services,
helping
people.
So
thank
you
sue
for
being
with
us
and
shooting
grew
up
too
far
from
this
place.
C
C
Right,
Roger
Herzog
when
hear
from
a
little
bit:
Thank
You
Marvin
Mountains
and
the
Greater
Fort
Collins,
actually
Thank,
You
Marvin
for
everything
you
do
it
fighting
for
this
neighborhood
every
day,
so
all
the
other
partners.
Thank
you
as
well.
I
think
I
didn't
get
into
all
of
you,
because
what
would
be
here
all
day,
this
project,
like
this.
It's
complicated
a
project
like
this
takes
time.
A
project
like
this
takes
partners,
there's
all
kinds
of
partners
and
again
I
want
to.
Thank
you
see
the
elected
officials
that
are
here
Candace
certainly
have
know.
C
Candace
Thank,
You
Candace
and
tell
Congress
to
thank
you
Anitra
sabe
Jorge
as
well,
who
represents
the
city,
Thank
You,
councillor,
George
von
der
Cavallo.
Congratulate
me.
Thank
you
for
being
a
congratulations
to
City
Council
Campbell
on
Alexander
he's
a
beautiful
boy.
So
this
is
the
bestest
huge
not
to
be
here
today
so
and
she's,
not
sleeping
though
she
probably
ought
to
be
in
soon
so.
But
you
know
today
is
an
exciting
day
and
Kim
talked
about
35
families
and
individuals
have
brand
new
quality
homes.
C
Last
three
years,
we've
been
able
to
do
it
as
a
project
like
this,
because
it
set
aside
some
apartments
and
then
wraparound
services
and
in
four
corners
is
a
great
place
to
live,
because
there's
so
many
other
services
here
that
you
can
wrap
around
whether
it's
you
know
whether
it's
the
health
center
down
the
street,
the
supermarket
next
door,
there's
a
lot
of
programs
that
are
in
this
neighborhood
that
can
help
people
that
were
chronically
homeless.
So
again,
it's
great
to
have
it
here
for
three
decades.
C
Twenty
years
ago,
I
came
to
four
corners
for
the
first
time
as
a
knocked
it
official,
and
there
was
a
lot
of
good
things
happening
at
that
point.
But
there
wasn't
a
lot
of
interest
in
building
building
buildings
and
housing.
Things
like
that
and
over
the
years
because
of
the
community.
You've
done
an
incredible
job,
so
I
want
to
thank
you.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
helping
transform
the
neighborhood
and
really
bringing
a
lot
of
life
down
by
common
square
Health
Center.
C
C
Special
dates
again
to
Viet
aid,
empowering
the
residents
of
this
great,
diverse
neighborhood
and
working
with
them
working
with
Trinity
Financial.
Obviously,
champions
of
affordable
housing.
That's
trans
orientated!
That's
certainly
what
we
have
here
is
key
vibrant
quality
homes
that
families
can
afford.
We
launched
a
plan
into
in
20
2014
to
create
53,000
units
to
new
housing
by
the
year
2030.
These
35
units
in
four
corners
bring
us
closer
to
that
goal.
It's
particularly
around
around
the
the
moderate
income,
the
low-income
housing,
to
make
sure
the
families
can
stay
in
the
City
of
Austin.
C
That's
one
of
the
things
that
would
struggle
with
right
now
is
how
do
we
keep
families
in
the
neighborhood
they're
being
priced
out?
The
house
is
being
converted
into
condos
and
projects
like
this.
Allow
us
that
opportunity,
Upper,
Washington
Street,
is
helping
meet
the
needs
of
four
corners
as
well,
so
not
just
housing
here,
but
there's
3,000
square
feet
of
office
space.
You
heard
about
it.
The
four
corners
Main
streets
is
gonna,
move
in
here,
yogurt
fitness
studio
and
malls
gonna
come
here.
C
So
that's
exciting
to
hear
we're,
seeing
a
lot
of
benefits
in
different
neighborhoods
about
bringing
mixed-use
into
a
community,
so
certainly
an
opportunity
for
people
to
live,
work
and
play
right
in
their
neighborhood
and
in
this
particular
case,
if
you
work
for
four
corners,
Main
streets,
you
could
live
and
work
and
play
in
the
building.
You'll
have
to
leave
for
anything
but
again,
just
just
to
end
here.
I'm
excited
to
see
this
I'm
excited
to
see
this
in
this
neighborhood.
This
is
a
great
neighborhood.
C
There
are
great
people
that
live
here,
the
community
that
lives
here.
Thank
you,
you've
been
working
and
in
pushing
the
city
and
the
state
for
investment
and
think
about
in
the
last
15
years.
What's
happened
in
this
neighborhood
you've
brought
you
brought
trains
and
public
transportation
to
this
neighborhood.
You
brought
businesses
to
this
neighborhood
you're,
bringing
housing
to
this
neighborhood
and
you're
doing
it.
The
way
that
that
Smart
Growth
from
the
city
ways
for
us
to
look
at
doing
Smart
Growth
from
the
city
I
know
that
some
neighborhoods
are
concerned
about
over
development
over
building.
C
But
when
you
think
about
what's
happening
here,
this
is
smart
because
we're
creating
opportunities,
vibrant
opportunities
for
people
to
stay
here
and
to
encourage
people
to
come
into
our
neighborhoods
so
again
to
all
the
people
here
that
had
something
to
do
with
today.
To
get
to
this
point
for
ribbon-cutting.
Thank
you
through
all
your
great
work.
B
And
thank
you
again
from
the
mayor,
so
at
this
point,
we'd
like
to
move
into
our
speaking
program
and
hear
from
some
of
the
folks
without
whom
their
participation
and
partnership
wouldn't
have
made
this
possible
first
I'd
like
to
introduce
Susan
Terry,
who
is
joining
us
from
the
Department
of
Housing
and
Community
Development
as
the
assistant
undersecretary
at
DHCD.
She
oversees
the
Bureau
of
rental
assistance,
which
manages
d,
HC,
DS
portfolio,
federal
and
state
housing
vouchers.
B
D
Good
morning,
everyone
thank
you
so
much
mr.
mayor
and
congratulations
to
v8
aid
in
the
greater
four
corners
Action
Coalition,
for
this
amazing
achievement,
I'm
thrilled
to
be
able
to
be
here
today
representing
the
Baker
Polito
administration
under
secretary
krysta
Kornegay,
and
the
Department
of
Housing
Community
Development
I
want
to
thank
everyone
that
was
able
to
work
on
this
project
and
our
partners.
D
C-Dac
mass
development,
the
city
of
Boston
company,
see
George,
and
our
colleagues
in
the
legislature,
Thank
You
representative
Carvalho.
It's
good
to
see
you
housing,
that's
affordable
for
families
across
the
income
spectrum
is
critical
to
building
a
strong
City
and
a
strong
common
low,
affordable
housing
strengthens
our
communities,
increases
neighborhood
stability
and
gives
our
families
a
solid
foundation.
That's
the
belief
that
under
plans,
the
Baker
Pulido
administration's
commitment
to
increasing
the
production
of
affordable
housing
and
preserving
affordable
housing
across
the
city
and
across
the
Commonwealth.
D
The
governor
recently
filed
at
one
point,
two
billion
dollar
housing
bond
bill
and,
if
that
bond
bill
makes
it
through
the
legislature,
DHCD
will
have
even
more
resources
to
be
able
to
commit
to
projects
like
this
projects
that
help
our
working
families,
our
low-income
families
and
our
moderate
income
families
a
DHCD.
We
believe
that
the
most
effective
when
we're
partnering
with
communities
and
supporting
development,
that's
bubbling
up
from
the
local
level.
D
This
project
is
a
prime
example
of
that
kind
of
community
driven
development
and
as
someone
who's
originally
from
Dorchester
I'm,
not
surprised
that
the
Dorchester
community
was
able
to
come
together
and
create
a
project
like
this.
That
brings
work
that
brings
housing
and
that
creates
a
strong
community,
a
place
that
can
keep
the
tradition
of
Dorchester
alive.
So
congratulations
to
everyone
and
thank
you
all
so
much
for
your
hard
work
on
this
project.
B
Thank
You
Susan
next
up,
I'd
like
to
introduce
Roger,
Herzog
who's,
the
executive
director
of
the
Community
Economic
Development,
Assistance
corporation,
otherwise
known
as
c-deck.
It's
one
of
the
Commonwealth's
quasi-public
lenders.
C-Dac
provides
nonprofit
community
development
organizations
such
as
via
Dade
with
financial
and
technical
resources
to
build
quality,
affordable
housing
and
childcare
facilities,
and
has
been
VI
aids
partner
for
both
housing
and
child
care
development
for
nearly
two
decades.
E
E
Rarely
has
c-dac
worked
so
closely
with
a
borrower,
as
we
have
on
this
project
with
via
nade
we've
been
providing
extensive
technical
assistance
to
VA
aid.
Since
2012,
we
provided
over
a
million
dollars
of
acquisition
and
pre
development
financing
and
through
a
commitment
by
Viet
Aid
to
serve
homeless
families.
We
could
provide
a
below
market
interest
rate
through
the
home
funders
consortium,
a
group
of
philanthropies
committed
to
ending
family
homelessness,
and
we
also
managed
about
one
and
a
half
million
dollars
of
state
bond
fund.
E
Sue
was
just
mentioning
those
funds,
the
most
prominent
one
of
which
is
the
housing
innovations
fund
and,
as
sue
said,
we
currently
have
a
housing
bond
bill
up
at
the
Statehouse
awaiting
reauthorization
by
the
legislature.
So
we
can
continue
to
do
this
important
work.
This
project
builds
on
a
strong
relationship
between
c-dac
and
Viet.
E
Ade
Kim
mentioned
that
this
is
the
fifth
project
that,
via
date,
is
done
and
we've
been
with
you
for
all
five
of
those
projects
since
1998,
especially
over
the
last
eight
years
and
we've
also
worked
with
Lee
Aid
on
their
commitment
to
early
education
through
our
affiliate
children's
investment
fund.
I
want
to
give
a
special
shout-out
to
Sarah
Barkin
seed
axe,
director
of
housing,
development
and.
E
B
F
Good
morning,
everybody
good
morning,
this
is
such
an
amazing
experience.
It's
my
first
time,
speaking
in
front
of
a
lot
of
people,
but
I
wanted
to
share
my
story.
We
have
you
wanna,
hear
they
invite
me
and
I
say
yes,
because
I
wanna
everybody
to
know
that
if
you
have
a
dream
to
have
something,
you
should
never
give
up
on
what
you
want.
F
F
I
got
the
opportunity
at
the
clinic
that
I
go
to
my
doctor.
Get
asked
me
if
I
feel
safe,
where
I
used
to
live,
and
my
answer
was
no,
because
I
used
to
live
in
a
small
room.
They
only
fits
my
bed.
My
fridge
in
my
closet,
so
for
my
clothes
and
every
day,
I
used
to
say
God.
How
am
I
gonna
raise
my
son
in
this
little
room.
I.
F
Have
my
husband
also
thank
you
so
much
and
we
used
to
live
there,
but
we
never
gave
up.
We
got
the
opportunity
we
did.
Application
and
I
also
brought
my
mom
with
me
to
do
the
application
me
and
my
mother.
We
came
to
this
country
11
years
ago.
My
mom
always
say
one
day:
I'm
gonna
have
a
brand
new
house.
This
is
what
I
grow
up.
Listening
and
I
never
gave
up
and
I
always
say
mom.
Are
we
gonna?
Have
a
new
house
one
day?
Leave
it
in
a
basement?
F
Not
because
my
mom
did
they
have
a
house
I
had
to
to
grow
up
by
myself,
having
a
husband,
so
I
had
to
start
somehow
and
I
started
with
that
basement
and
then,
after
a
while,
we
got
one
house,
we
moved
to
the
house,
but
it
was
a
nice
house
and
I
think
the
person
that
rented
us
there
was
a
nice
house,
but
we
never
feel
like
I
never
had
to
say
this
is
the
house
I
want.
This
is
my
home,
so
everybody
when
they
moved
to
the
house.
F
They
want
to
have
the
stuff
they
leave.
Her
mom
sat
and
everything
right.
My
didn't
I
kept
with
that
one
fridge
and
one
bedroom
set
because
I
said
I'm
not
home,
yet
I'm
not
gonna
have
anything
I
because
I'm,
not
home
I,
keep
on
going
keep
on
going.
My
son
came
that
was
a
blessing
and
I
keep
on
going
to
the
office,
keep
having
a
calls
from
Vonda.
F
Thank
you
so
much
Vonda
and
I,
always
like
I,
said
drive
by
here
every
single
day,
my
house,
on
the
other
side,
I,
had
to
drive
by
here
just
to
say
god.
This
is
my
home:
it's
not
ready
yeah,
but
it's
my
home
I
keep
on
waiting
and
waiting
and
until
that
day
I
have
to
call
to
say
then
they
say
the
to
me.
First,
actually
we
went
to
the
lottery
and
Vonda
remembers
me
and
a
lot
of
some
of
the
people
that
live
here
too.
F
F
F
F
It
feels
like
the
first
time
because
it's
it's
big
when
somebody
goes
to
a
basement
to
a
brand
new
house
where
you
was
the
first
one
to
step
in
it's
big
when
you
know
you
inside
a
little
room
and
you
thinking
about
how
you're
gonna
raise
your
kid
and
you
end
up
having
a
big
hole
today,
I'm
gonna
think
your
honor
you're
mayor.
You
guys
a
lot
of
you
guys
I,
don't
have
I,
don't
know
the
name,
but
I
have
to
thank
you
guys.
F
I
did
a
big
thing
for
a
lot
of
the
family
here
for
me
for
my
mom
for
the
others
that
live
in
here.
I
have
to
think
you
wonder
for
every
day
you
have
to
hear
me
call
your
phone
just
to
save
and
am
I
accepted.
I
have
to
say
thank
you
to
see
Amara's
she's,
not
working
with
you
guys,
but
she
was
one
of
them
too.
I
had
to
call
her
every
single
day
and
I
have
to
say
thank
you
to
the
neighbors.
F
Thank
you
to
the
ones
that
live
in
here
and
I
will
tell
you
guys.
One
thing:
take
care
of
this
house
cuz,
a
lot
of
them
out.
There
wants
to
have
this
house
that
we
have
I
will
take
care
of
mine
and
every
day
it
doesn't
matter
can
be
10
years
from
now
20
years,
but
every
day
that
I
walk
in
it's
gonna
be
my
first
day.
Thank
you.
So
much.
B
Thank
you
so
much
for
sharing
your
story
and
your
story
is
the
reason
why
we
wanted
to
share
with
everyone
here
today,
because
as
much
as
you
can
walk
by
the
building
and
see
how
beautiful
it
is,
it's
really
when
you
hear
stories
like
yours,
that
makes
every
moment
of
working
towards
today
worth
it.
So
thank
you.
B
G
Thank
you
very
much,
you're,
all
probably
asleep.
Already
when
you
heard
tax
credit
equity,
we'll
do
what
we
can.
Yes,
I'm
with
the
tax
credit
equity
group
of
Royal
Bank
of
Canada,
where
the
tax
credit
investor
in
the
property
we
invested
about
seven
and
a
half
million
dollars
in
the
property
and,
as
as
you
said,
I
was
involved
in
the
1460
house
as
well.
G
Six
or
seven
years
ago,
it's
been
a
while
RBC
has
invested
about
400
million
in
the
state
of
Massachusetts
for
affordable
housing
in
the
city
of
Boston.
We've
worked
with
lots
of
folks
who
are
doing
the
kind
of
work
that
v8
is
doing,
that
Godman
square
n
DC
down
the
street
Madison
Park
Asian,
Community,
Development,
Corp
and
others
very
proud
to
be
a
part
of
that.
What
makes
me
proud
is
to
be
a
part
of
the
affordable
housing
business
community
in
the
state
of
Massachusetts,
we're
kind
of
the
finance
nerd
Patrol.
G
G
These
are
very
complicated
transactions
with
ever-changing
rules
and
we
certainly
get
confused
at
times,
but
we
really
enjoy
the
fact
that
we
end
up
being
a
part
of
a
community
like
this.
It's
really
wonderful!
It
makes
you
feel
good
about
your
job,
which
is
not
easy
in
the
finance
business
all
the
time.
You
can
be
sure
that
I
want
to
thank
Viet.
Aid
Eric
Bellinger
has
been
talking
with
me
recently
Eric.
Thank
you
very
much
and
Henry
Joseph.
G
B
Thank
you.
Next,
we
have
kenneth
willis
who's.
The
first
first
vice
president
and
director
of
Housing
and
Community
investment
at
the
Federal
Home
Loan
Bank
of
Boston,
where
he's
responsible
for
implementing
the
bank's
strategic
vision
for
administering
Housing
and
Community
investment
programs,
he's
responsible
for
designing
and
conducting
community
development
outreach
activities
that
educate
and
promote
effective
working
relationships
with
organizations
that
are
involved
in
affordable
housing
and
Community
Economic
Development.
H
Good
morning,
everyone
I
was
just
telling
the
mayor
it's
very
difficult
to
follow
a
resident
like
Dion
I
mean
that's.
Why
we're
all
here
really
is
is
to
really
make
a
difference
in
people's
lives.
We
talked
about
the
financing
and
all
the
partnerships,
but
it's
really
about
having
an
impact
on
someone's
life
and
I
think
he
was
so
perfectly
articulated.
Why
we're
all
here
so
I
just
wanted
to.
Thank
you
again
for
that
really.
The
second
thing,
I
wanted
to
say,
is
I'm
from
this
neighborhood
I
actually
grew
up
right
around
the
corner.
H
I'm
rosetta
street
actually
stood
on
the
corner
right
here
in
front
of
a
vacant
lot
waiting
for
the
23
bus
to
take
me
all
the
way
up
to
Roxbury
to
go
to
Madison
Prague
hi.
So
this
is
like
coming
home
to
me.
So
I'm
really
happy
to
be
here
and
to
see
the
transformative
impact
of
the
project.
I
wanted
to
first.
Thank
the
mayor.
Mayor
walls
fall
your
ware'
kim
tie
the
board
chair
NMC,
as
well
as
Jeff
Katz
who's,
the
interim
executive
director.
H
It's
always
a
pleasure
to
be
part
of
these
celebrations
and
we
are
very
excited
to
be
celebrating
the
completion
of
our
first
affordable
housing
program
project
with
V
and
ade
having
been
here
for
the
groundbreaking.
Seeing
the
completed
project
makes
this
even
more
exciting.
I
commend
via
Adan
a
board
of
directors
for
their
energy
and
persistence
in
creating
this
dynamic
mixed-use
development,
which
is
created,
35
units
of
mixed
sustainable
family
housing
that
strengthens
the
neighborhoods
economic
fabric.
H
Thank
you
to
Mayor
Walsh
in
the
city
of
Boston,
for
seeing
the
need
and
supporting
the
transformation
of
a
Washington
Street.
Thank
you
to
Susan
Terry
at
the
Department
of
Housing
community
development
as
a
former
neighborhood
resident
I'm
sure
it's
extremely
exciting
for
you,
as
well
as
I
myself,
to
see
what
the
community
has
produced
here
today.
In
addition
to
our
good
work
with
DHCD
and
the
City
of
Boston.
We
are
particularly
proud
of
our
partnership
here
at
the
federal
bank
with
eastern
bank
eastern
bankers.
H
Our
partner
in
this
grant
for
this
project,
probably
saying
who
what's
the
federal
bank,
what
do
we
do
so?
The
Federal
Home
Loan
Bank
of
Boston
is
a
wholesale
cooperative
bank.
We
don't
have
ATMs,
we
don't
have
branches,
but
our
mission
is
really
to
provide
liquidity
to
other
banks
such
as
he
sends,
but
such
as
Easterns
banks,
so
that
they
can
provide
funding
for
economic
development
and
housing.
So
that's
what
we
do
part
of
our
mission
is
to
set
aside
10
percent
of
our
income.
H
This
program
called
the
affordable
housing
program
where
we
provide
both
grants
and
what
we
call
subsidizing
loads
to
deserving
projects
like
this
in
Upper
Washington
Street.
This
happens
to
be
our
sixty-seven
project
that
we've
done
with
Eastern
banks.
So
we're
really
proud
of
that.
Congratulations
to
Chris
Colville
and
is
a
development
team
we'll
be
proud
of
that.
Since
1990,
the
affordable
housing
program
has
become
an
essential
resource
to
create
the
preserve,
affordable
housing
across
the
region.
H
In
Massachusetts,
our
affordable
housing
program
has
provided
funding
to
assist
in
the
creation
over
14,000,
affordable
rental
and
homeownership
units.
This
particular
project
received
a
Direct
Subsidy
reward
of
$500,000
as
gap
funding
to
help
offset
development
cost.
We
excited
for
all
the
residents
who,
through
this
affordable
housing
as
well
as
vide
AIDS
access
program,
will
have
the
opportunity
to
gain
finance
with
stability
and
economic
advancement,
enabling
the
move
out
of
poverty
so
again,
I.
Thank
you.
I
congratulate
all
the
partners
in
this
and
good
luck.
Next,.
B
I
Thank
you
very
much.
Kim
and
good
morning.
Everyone
I'd
first
like
to
congratulate
Kim
and
Jeff
and
Eric,
and
all
the
staff
at
Viet
aid
and
thank
them
for
all
of
their
hard
work
in
making
Upper
Washington
apartments
a
reality.
We
not
only
celebrate
the
thirty-five
new
units
of
affordable
housing
so
desperately
needed,
but
we
also
celebrate
a
true
mixed-use
facility,
with
the
offices
of
four
corners
Main
streets
and
four
corners
wellness
and
yoga,
allowing
these
businesses
to
contribute
to
the
community
in
a
very
positive
way.
I
Our
commitment
for
many
years
now
is
to
bring
all
of
our
financing
and
consultative
resources
everything
we
can
to
the
table
to
help
produce
as
many
new
affordable
housing
units
that
we
can
to
preserve
and
improve
as
many
affordable
housing
units
as
we
can
and
to
support
a
variety
of
economic
development
projects
over
the
past
three
years.
Mass
developments,
tax
exempt
bond
financing
program
that
we
use
here
to
help
upper
Washington
has
helped
to
preserve
or
construct
approximately
4,700
units
of
affordable
housing
in
Massachusetts,
and
this
work
is
we're
hearing
this
morning.
J
Hi
everyone
I'm
not
ready
for
this,
but
I'll,
say
what
I
wrote:
I'm
just
gonna
diddle
on
everything
that
we
ever
said
earlier.
I
just
don't
want
to
repeat
everything
that
was
said
from,
but
I
would
like
to
thank
everyone
for
coming
out
today
and
we're
very
happy
that
we
were
able
to
get
these
affordable
units
here
and
come
in
the
Four
Corners
area.
We
really
needed
them
and
we
fought
for
them
and
I'm
so
happy
that
we
were
able
to
accomplish
our
first
project
here
in
the
greater
focus
area.
J
With
this
project
I
know
there
will
be
many
others,
and
this
is
a
segue
to
bring
many
other
projects
here
in
the
Four
Corners
area.
I
would
like
to
thank
VNA
for
being
a
good
partner
and
bringing
this
project
a
la
to
life.
I
also
want
to
recognize
four
corners
Main
Street
in
Washington
Harbor,
my
neighborhood
association,
that
really
fought
during
the
transaction
of
these.
B
At
this
time,
we
have
a
special
guest
iris
DuPont
is
a
local
artist,
an
art
educator
whose
artistic
style
encompasses
many
mediums,
including
painting
clay,
work,
photography,
glass
and
recycled
sculptures.
She's
exhibited
her
work
in
a
variety
of
galleries.
Around
Boston
and
her
concept
and
inspirations
are
about
transforming
and
interpreting
this
universe
as
humans
and
experience
of
intentions
and
aspirations,
mingling
them
with
nature's
own
guidelines
like
to
invite
Iris
up
here
to
in
Vail
her.
No,
not
yet
we're
going
to
do
it.
K
This
piece
has
named
five
phases
and
it
represents
the
five
elements
from
traditional
Chinese
medicine:
it's
fire,
earth,
metal,
water
and
wood
and
is
a
symbol
of
natural
peace
and
balance
and
working
together,
and
that's
what
I
hope
for
for
this
space.
Each
element
nurtures
and
creates
the
next
in
a
particular
order
and
allowing
for
growth
and
strength.
K
My
hope
is
that,
with
these
new
buildings,
the
people
it
brings
to
our
area,
both
residents
and
business
owners
and
via
aids,
understanding
of
how
a
community
works
together,
an
or
CH
and
nurturing,
and
a
stronger
element
will
have
been
installed
into
our
four
corners
neighborhood,
which
we
work
so
hard
to
keep
growing
into
a
better
place
to
be
I've,
been
here
for
33
years.
I've
lived
here
for
65
years,
and
it's
it
just
keeps
getting
a
little
better,
but
we
need
to
keep
working
together.
A
B
B
All
right,
mixed-use
development
is
an
important
strategy
and
establishing
and
maintaining
vitality
in
today's
neighborhoods
we've
had
again,
as
we've
mentioned,
before,
a
great
success
with
both
1392
and
1460
Dorchester
Avenue,
and
now,
with
the
opening
of
the
Upper
Washington
apartments.
We
look
forward
to
delivering
benefits
to
the
larger
Dorchester
community
as
we
expand
our
mission
to
create
more
successful,
affordable
housing
developments
and
we
think
again
and
appreciate,
and
are
completely
grateful
for
our
supporters.
Funders
city,
state
and
federal
agencies
in
helping
us
realize
our
goals.
