Description
An array of dunks, alley-oops and 3-pointers were displayed when the top boys high school basketball players in the city of the Boston converge to the Cabot Center at Northeastern University, for the 2019 Boston Scholar Athletes Girls City League All-Star game.
A
A
Hello,
everybody
welcome
to
the
Cabot
Center
at
Northeastern,
the
University
for
the
2019
boys,
Boston
City,
League
all-star,
classic.
As
this
afternoon
team
Malcolm
Smith
will
be
taking
on
Team
Johnny,
Williams,
hello,
everybody,
I'm,
Pat
flower
to
John,
where
my
partner
has
always
Allen
flat
and
Allen
worth
the
Boise
City
League
all-star
game,
which
is
always
a
blast.
We
always
love
coming
here
at
the
end
of
the
high
school
basketball
season,
and
the
thing
we
always
look
for
is
the
dunks.
Oh
definitely.
C
A
B
At
Northeast
and
the
reason
that
happens
too
much
is
because
it's
an
all-star
game
players
can
relax
a
little
bit
that's
right
and
play
a
little
more
playground,
basketballs,
which
all
these
young
kids
have
done.
So
it's
one
of
those
situations,
but
also
we
all.
We
want
to
start
off
by
congratulating
the
tech,
boston's
and
Johnny
Williams
John
Weems,
the
coach
of
one
of
the
teams
tonight
in
fantastic
achievement
to
have
back-to-back
state
titles
and
the
point
you
thought
you'd
major
in
the
season,
all
the
way
through
they
lost
three
all-stars
pollicis.
D
B
A
B
Look
at
him
and
you
think
it
starts
on
defense,
but
when
he
needs
to
score
when
he
needs
to
help
his
other
teammates
score,
he
can
do
it
all.
He
always
has
consistent
points,
scored
and
assists,
which
those
two
boxes
obviously
on
the
offensive
end
are
key,
but
a
I
always
like
the
way
he
plays
defense
and
even
when
he
gets
to
some
file,
told
me
to
get
three
or
four
files.
Johnny
Williams
has
the
the
confidence
in
his
ability
to
be
a
smart
player.
He'll
leave
him
out
in
the
floor.
B
A
Question
he
was
one
of
the
leaders
of
that
tech,
Boston
state
championship
team,
like
we
just
mentioned
with
me
on
the
other
side
for
team
Malcolm
Smith.
Certainly
I've
got
a
lot
of
new
mission
players
as
they
had
a
heck
of
a
season.
A
one
player
who's
been
outstanding.
All
season
long.
He
was
the
boys
City
League
Player
of
the
Year
he's
headed
to
the
New
Jersey
Institute
of
Technology
to
play
Division
one
basketball
next
season.
That's
our
spotlight
player,
levar
Williams,
just
a
great
all-around
scorer
for.
B
Jeremiah
score
score
score
score.
Right
now
is
something
to
me:
he
get
like
a
40-point
game.
Indeed,
in
one
of
the
state
tournament
games,
that's
right,
levar
just
knows
how
to
get
buckets.
He
can
catch
the
basket.
You
see
his
long-range
shooting
here,
but
he
can
go
baseline.
Pretty
much.
Do
it
all,
like
you
say,
go
on
to
NJIT.
Yes,
that's
a
tough
conference
yeah
wondering
that
conference
goes
to
the
automatic
future.
Nc
double-a,
so
I
mean
he
he's
going
down
to
a
situation.
B
A
No
question
you
saw,
we
saw
what
kind
of
work
he
was
able
to
do
during
this
germán
average
and
almost
40
points
a
game
during
that
time.
He's
now
Bert's
all-time,
leading
scorer
and,
as
we
mentioned,
committed
to
ng
ITA
Division,
one
boys,
basketball,
our
men's
basketball
yeah.
You
gotta
make
sure
that
says
men's
basketball.
E
A
B
A
F
Guys
this
tech,
Boston
team
is
well
represented
a
they
actually
had
three
players
suiting
up
for
today's
all-star
game
and
what
a
season
it's
been
for
them.
Obviously,
like
I,
said
to
three
players
in
the
all-star
game,
also
bringing
home
a
championship.
It's
been
a
productive
year,
but
like
I
talked
about
a
lot
during
the
girls
game
today
is
an
opportunity.
Is
an
opportunity
for
college
exposure
for
these
players.
F
A
Very
much
Leverett
and
we
saw
three
players
graduate
last
year
from
tech
boss-
that
a
couple
of
them
are
playing
in
college
at
leaf.
Maurice
works
actually
at
franklin,
pierce,
very
good,
Division
two
program,
but
now
you
see
in
the
guy,
like
Lyman
Bennett,
Richard
Burton,
a
couple
of
guys
who
were
able
to
get
the
opportunity
of
B
stars
this
year.
They
were
able
to
do
that
for
tech
bosses,
maybe
they'll
be
able
to
play
basketball
next
season.
There's.
B
No
doubt
I
mean
this
is
the
time
of
year
like
we
mentioned
the
players
and
families
are
going
through
this
whole
process
or
college
of
missions.
You
have
coaches
from
the
from
colleges
talking
and
promising,
and
you
know
the
project
fit
trying
to
get
the
kids
to
it.
So
it
can
be
a
little
confusion,
but
for
today,
relax
have
some
fun
play
with
your
friends
play
with
your
opponents.
You
know,
go
at
go,
add
some
of
the
guys
from
on
it
gone
against
the
last.
B
The
Athens,
but
the
semifinals
and
the
finals
on
both
sides-
boys
and
girls.
So
it's
a
fun
day.
Hopefully
these
guys
can
just
relax
the
hopefully
we'll
see
a
lot
of
smiles,
something
we
did
in
the
girls
game
and
so
I,
like
the
boys
just
calmed
down
a
bit
played
their
basketball,
but
the
same
time
enjoy
the
day.
It's.
A
G
L
H
O
H
Hey
you
yeah
you
getting
that
college
education.
What
are
you
gonna
do
graduate
and
take
some
office
job
be
like
everybody
else
or
well.
You
dare
do
something
different.
Like
be
a
teacher.
You
could
be
my
teacher.
You
got
the
skills,
the
smarts,
yes,
you
you
give
me
the
teacher
I.
Never
forget
no
be
cool.
Does
that
corporate
job
even
have
recess?
What
are
you
gonna
make
of
yourself?
What
are
you
gonna
make
of
me.
G
E
P
It
appears
these
four
dashes
are
about
to
be
dumped,
which
could
possibly
start
a
wildfire.
How
will
smokey
deal
with
such
a
hot
situation,
the
garden
hose
defense
next
authority?
Oh
then,
another
thread
and
finally
feeling
if
the
ashes
are,
is
the
selfie
a
ritual
practice
through
frequently
with
this
tribe,
but
not
so
much
by
Smokey,
Bear.
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Cabot
center
at
Northeastern
University
for
the
2019
boys,
Boston
City
League
all-star,
classic
as
we
got
team
Smith
taking
on
Team
Johnny
Williams,
just
so
upset
to
go
here
at
Northeastern
team
Smith's
in
the
dark
uniforms,
while
team
Johnny
Williams
in
the
light
white
uniforms
check,
Boston.
Of
course,
in
the
light
uniforms,
because
Johnny
Williams
goes
to
stack
Boston
and
Bush
Malcolm
Smith.
The
new
missions
got
his
guys
in
the
dark
uniforms.
A
We
look
at
coach,
Smith
and
his
lineup
and
to
start
here
for
team
Smith,
it's
gonna
be
Jameson,
Williams,
solace,
Marshall
and
dare
and
then
for
team
Williams,
lamrim,
Bennett,
Jamar,
Browder,
Richard,
Burton,
Soares
and
Jackson.
We
had
a
couple
of
late
additions
to
the
starting
lineup,
so
Coach
Williams,
throwing
with
a
completely
different
lineup,
getting
some
other
teams,
some
run
so
not
going
with
tech
Boston
and
we're
ready
for
the
opening
tap
a
lot.

Q

B
But
but
what
I
said
in
the
open
about
how
he's
developed
different
process
was
gained
from
his
freshman
year?
That's
actually
made
it
possible
for
him
to
be
at
this
level
right
now,
but
a
lot
of
times
we
have
people
advising
coaches,
friends,
family,
say
well,
why
don't
you
do
it?
A
gift
prep
did,
but
his
case
I
mean
dollars.
No
comp
in
the
player.
It's
always
been
very
competitive,
a
guy
off
those
all
out
and
so
he's
right.
B
A
A
A
Game
that
be
covered
in
burnt
loss
to
Bishop
Stang,
and
he
said
you
know
one
of
the
biggest
things
that
Lavar
did
was
get
stronger
both
on
the
upper
body
and
lower
body.
You
know
he
got
stronger
legs
a
little
more
explosive
and
we've
seen
that
from
the
bar
this
season,
where
he's
able
to
take
it
to
the
basket
much
better.
Now,
with
that
stronger
body,
all
around.
A

B
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Cabot
center
at
Northeastern
University,
and
just
before
we
get
going
here
for
the
second
quarter,
you
see
coach,
Malcolm,
Smith,
the
head
coach
of
the
new
mission,
Titans
boys,
basketball,
team
being
honored
as
the
coach
of
the
year
in
the
Boston
City
League.
So
you
see
how
afraid
of
Harris
presenting
the
award
to
Malcolm
Smith
Avery
s
tail
the
athletic
director
for
the
Boston
Public
Schools
new
mission,
I.
Think.

A
A

G

G
A
B
A
One
thing:
that's
nice
about
this
game
too:
you
know
you
go
through
the
city
championships,
a
state
tournament.
All
these
teams,
everything's
tense,
everything's
kind
of
you,
know
stressful,
and
then
you
get
to
the
all-star
game.
You
gonna
just
loosen
up
play
basketball
want
solace,
knocking
it
down
from
three.
A
G
B
A

G
A
A
A
A
Bounced
that
three
puts
team
Smith
on
top
by
2259
37
and
a
little
surprising
that
the
non-tech
Boston
team
has
that
much
of
a
lead
but
Solon
just
a
fun
up-and-down.
First
half
we
saw
the
action
flying
up
and
down
the
floor
off
of
both
these
teams,
both
the
three-point
land.
We
had
some
dunks
very
entertaining
first
half
here.
B
A
T
B
A
Back
to
the
Cabot
Center
at
Northeastern,
University
we're
at
the
half
of
the
boys,
All
City,
basketball,
all-star
game
and
we're
just
about
set
to
go
for
the
second
round
of
the
three-point
contest,
as
they
just
gotta
get
everything
set
up
here
before
they
get
going
with
round
number
two,
we'll
give
you
the
names
of
who's
going
to
be
coming
up
for
the
girls
side
Jasmine.
Will
it
jazz
me
William
Santiago?
A
We
also
got
Patricia
Williams
from
that's
right:
Trisha,
Williams
from
Madison
Park
and
then
Imani
Terry
from
Fenway
that
a
really
good
first
round
being
wild
on
the
boys
side.
It's
Eddie,
Andrade
Correa
from
Jeremiah
Burke,
Mike
McKinney
from
new
mission,
Adam,
also
a
very
good
first
round
and
then
Richard
Kaplan
from
snowdon.
So
three
boys,
three
girls
in
the
second
round,
the
three-point
contest
and
then
we'll
have
the
finals
where
the.

A
That's
a
lot
of
fun
to
watch.
It
was
a
nice
article
in
The
Globe
about
Christina
and
her
uncle
Vinny
Bowie.
Who
is
the
head
coach
at
new
mission?
We
actually
covered
the
game
where
a
new
mission
hosted
O'brien's
during
the
regular
season.
They
went
up
against
each
other,
just
a
lot
of
fun
to
see
those
two
during
the
season
seeing
a
fan,
but
not
a
heck
of
a
performance
here
at
the
three-point
contest
at
the
2019
Boston
City
League
all-star,
classic
a
great.
B
A
F
R
F
R
Yeah
I
can
deacon,
there's
always
room
for
improvement.
I
mean
we
won,
which
is
great,
but
we
got
to
continue
on
winning
it's
not
that
we
don't
want
to
be
one-hit
wonders.
You
know
we
want
to
continue
on
a
tradition,
we're
building
a
program,
so
we
want
guys
to
continue
to
come.
We
want
players
to
continue
to
come
over
to
Tech
and
get
better
and.
F
A
Much
Leverett
and
coach
williams
certainly
having
a
lot
of
fun
here
at
the
all-star
game
too.
After
another
state
championship
run
folks
we're
gonna
head
to
break
real
quick
when
we
come
back,
we
have
the
second
half
here
of
the
2019
boys,
Boston
City,
League,
all-star
basketball,
game
from
the
cabin
Center
at
Northeastern
University
right
after
these
words,
don't
go
away.
B
B
Say:
Steve
Smith
off
to
a
great
start
in
this
very
first
quarter,
Williams
14
points
Jameson
added
12.
He
got
car
with
five
rebounds
Dale
with
four,
then
of
course,
South
with
five
assists
and
Marshall
with
three
assists.
So
for
whatever
reason,
team
Smith
just
just
jumped
out
low
Elliot,
look
slightly
more
energy
little
more
cohesion.
So
what
was
the
real
challenge
now
for
Team
Williams
that?
Okay,
these
these
tech,
Boston
kids?
Probably
they
haven't
seen
a
22
point?
Halftime
deficit.
A
G
B
A
B
A
A
Q
B
A
B
E
A
B
That's
that's.
The
key
he's
he's
thought
it
all
started
out
with
the
jump
shot,
even
as
a
freshman
soft
when
he
had
the
outside
shot,
but
junior
and
senior.
He
really
turned
things
around
by
getting
thicker
getting
stronger,
and
once
you
get
your
legs
from
that
year,
which
it
ends
in
a
way
he'd
be
able
to
absorb
punishment
and
still
miss.
Q
G
G
A
B
A
Ready
for
this
weekend,
certainly
they
do
a
lot
more.
A
lot
of
the
schools
have
what
we've
talked
about
in
the
past:
the
essay
zones
where
athletes
can
go
after
school
or
even
during
their
free,
fair
during
school,
to
get
homework
done.
There's
tutors
there's
a
lot
of
different
tools
for
the
athletes
to
use.
There's.
B
J
B
To
it
than
yeah
there's
a
lot
of
paperwork
and
for
the
first
time
players
get
introduced
to
the
system
in
colleges
where
you
have.
You
have
to
be
able
to
have
all
your
paperwork
and
hold
them
on
your
scores.
In
order
are
your
grades
in
order
transcripts
and
everything
everything
and
it's
and
it's
it's?
Sometimes
it
gets
overwhelming
for
parents,
sure
so
you're
right
so
to
have
assistance
in
that
area
to
help
you
get
ready,
there's
a
major
major
advantage.

The
City

all-star
classic
30
point
lead
for
team
Smith
at
the
end
of
the
3rd,
and
we
just
saw
a
managing
director
of
program
services
from
the
Boston
scholar-athlete
Foundation
Cara
Gould,
addressing
the
audience
she
is
now
with
our
sideline
reporter
levered
ball
celebrity.
Take
it
away
thanks.
F
J
J
Athletes
provides
academic
support.
Our
our
mission
is
to
support
academics
through
athletics,
so
we
provide
academic,
coaching
and
mentoring,
college
and
career
readiness
and
health
and
wellness
programming.
We
really
try
to
bridge
the
opportunity
gap
that
exists
within
high
schools
throughout
the
city
and
actually
throughout
the
Commonwealth,
we're
also
in
Springfield
in
Everett.
My.
F
Last
question
you
know
obviously.
J
F
Athletes
have
a
lot
on
their
plates.
I
play
sports
in
college
myself,
and
it
was
you
know,
obviously,
tough,
balancing
school
and,
in
my
end
of
my
sport
and
my
socially,
what
advice
would
you
have
for
any
student-athletes
on?
You
know
how
to
balance
their
schoolwork
with
everything
else
going
on
in
their
lives,
yeah.
J
A
Very
much
levered
as
a
scholar
athlete
foundation
that
we've
been
familiar
with
for
several
years
now.
They've
spent
a
lot
for
Boston
public
school
athletics
and
the
students
across
the
board.
Here
in
the
city,
they
have
expanded
the
Springfield
and
Everett
other
spots
in
the
state
of
Massachusetts
so
good
to
see
that
as
well
as
Tim
Lambright
Adam
O'brien.
Now
at
the

Thing
they're
doing
right
now
is
honoring
Barry
Robinson,
the
longtime
head
basketball
coach
at
Boston
English.
He
hasn't
been
the
head
coach
to
a
couple
of
years.
Now
he
is
retired,
trying
out
the
system.

B
Looks
like
a
for
Charlie,
it
really
is
I
mean
Boston.
Athletics
goes
back
many
many
years,
obviously,
and
so
when
you
see
someone
like
Barry
been
around
so
many
years
and
missus,
it's
been
consistent,
like
you
said
he
actually
stopped
coaching
a
couple
years
ago,
but
still
in
the
system
and
now
he's
about
being
full
retirement.

With
three
minutes
left
in
the
fourth
war,
the
tech
Boston
Bears
will
be
recognizing
their
2019
Division
2
state
championship
back-to-back
state
champions
on
the
tech
loss
and
bears.
We've
talked
a
lot
about
it.
Rough
season,
you've
seen
how
successful
they've
banded
Coach
Williams
got
some
specially
going
on
there
at
Tech
ball.
Oh.
B
Keep
going
if
you
also
build
a
tradition,
manitech
boss
and
formerly
Dorchester
high
and
years
still
friend,
up
for
a
number
of
years
going
back
as
far
as
you
want.
If
there
is
no
for
football
okay
and
they
had
pain,
he'd
have
a
football
tradition
once
in
the
wild.
They
think
they
have
a
really
strong
basketball
program.
He
throw
the
girls
of
boys,
side,
check,
Boston
and
bobble
10,
maybe
15
years
ago,
back
that's
changed
up
as
they
changed.
B
A
About
tech
Boston
and
they
went
through
with
Coach
Williams
and
some
of
the
players
who's
right
before
their
state
championship
wins
in
the
article
they
talked
about
how
tough
their
practices
or
how
tough
the
first
two
weeks
of
the
season
they
just
call
hell
week
because
they
run
so
much.
They
run
they
press
they.
They
do
all
these
things.
The
first
couple
of
weeks
of
practice
during
the
season
then.
H
B
E
A
A
B
A
You
see
Shamar
Browder
Shamar,
just
a
junior
for
tech
Boston
this
year,
Tamar
had
a
heck
of
a
season
in
addition
to
Lima
and
Bennett
Bennett
had
to
miss
about
the
first
10
games
of
the
year
for
tech
Boston,
as
they
tried
to
figure
out
niña
a
issue
with
Iran
and
shamov
routers
carried
tech
Boston
on
the
scoring
side.
For
so
many
of
those
games.
Beginning
of
the
season.
E
B
Finish
off
the
season
with
a
relaxed
atmosphere,
that's
right
if
y'all
they're,
all
talented,
obviously
they're
earned
their
way
here
and
who,
regardless
to
the
score
the
factories
they
had,
she
has
to
play
especially
seniors.
Since
then,
that's
one
thing
one
element
about
this
game:
it
doesn't
matter
what
what
year
you
are
in
this
field,
if
you,
if
you're
good
enough,
you
can
be
chosen,
some
systems
have
only
seniors
in
all-star
games
right.
That's
not
the
case
here
in
Boston,
certainly.
A
You
can
see
the
kind
of
players
that
we
have.
We
saw
players
from
all
of
the
classes
here
in
the
city
of
Boston,
so
that
was
good
to
see
here
as
well
folks
we're
gonna
head
to
break
when
we
come
back
we'll
ever
our
game
of
the
week
MVP
and
the
game,
winning
coach
and
our
final
stats
here
from
the
2019
Boise
City
League
all-star
game
right
after
these
messages
don't
go
away.
K

C
I
So
there
you
are
shuffling
through
a
stack
of
resumes
and
you
come
to
mind
this.
Is
it
first
impression
my
way
in,
but
can
my
resume
show
you
how
I
truly
stand
out
like
that
I
was
studying
going
to
night
school,
while
working
two
jobs
just
to
help
my
parents
pay
for
groceries
or
being
the
first
one
to
always
step
up?
No,
that's
something!
You
just
can't
put
on
paper,
look
beyond
the
resume
and
discover
new
ways
to
develop
great
talent
that
is
dedicated,
hardworking
and
determined.
Like
me.

that
could
save
her
life.
You

now
start

no
matter
how
much
you

F
U
Is
you
know,
he's
been
coming
on
very
strong
all
season
long
I
was
a
little
disappointed.
Cuz
I
thought
he
should
have
got
an
all-state
selection
average
in
17
and
9
for
us,
but
I
can't
say
anymore.
Today
he
came
out
really
put
all
his
products
together
and
everything
else
I'm
happy
for
him
cuz.
This
is
a
kid
who
put
the
work
in
all
summer,
beat
us
to
the
gym.
U
Everything
else
and
I
mean
for
him
to
come
out
here
means
a
lot
he's
got
a
good
family
support,
his
father
and
the
mother
here
and
everything
else,
and
for
him
to
come
out
here.
Get
that
dunk
early
hit
some
threes
and
everything
else.
That
meant
a
lot
to
us
and
I
know
it
meant
a
lot
to
him
and
his
family
and.
F
U
You
know
it's
difficult
because
you
want
to
get
everybody,
you
know
the
minutes
and
all
that
other
stuff.
You
know
what
I
mean,
so
you
go
into
it.
Thinking
about
it,
you
know
it's
an
all-star
game,
but
then
you
know
the
night
before
you
thinking
how
am
I
gonna
get
all
these
guys,
but
these
guys
were
great.
These
guys
are
excellent.
You
know
we
had
an
odd
number,
so
we
just
went
to
four
four
and
four
system,
so
do
we
jumped
out
to
a
comfortable
lead?
F
It's
my
last
question:
you
know
how
enjoyable
is
it
for
you
just
to
continue
to
be
involved.
You
know
in
high
school
basketball
and
with
all
the
different
you
know,
organizations
we
had
here.
How
big
is
this
event
for
high
school
basketball
in
Boston?
Oh.
U
No,
it's
very
big
because
I
think
we're
the
only
all-star
game
in
New
England.
That
does
it
like
this.
You
know
with
you
guys
the
local
TV
and
everything
else
and
I
think
the
other
ones
just
have
something
in
their
gyms.
But
now
this
is
very
good.
It's
very
good
for
the
city,
they've
been
doing
it
for
the
last
ten
years.
Avery
ed
still
does
a
phenomenal
job.
You
know
as
athletic
director-
and
you
know,
to
get
2,000
people
out
here
on
a
Saturday
is
excellent
anytime,
that
I
can
be
Johnny
Williams.
U
A
Lever
thanks
very
much
and
coach
Smith,
certainly
having
a
lot
of
fun
here
at
the
all-star
game
and,
like
he
said
the
one
time
this
year
he
could
beat
Johnny
Williams.
He
beat
him
in
the
regular
season,
but
in
the
city
championship
in
state
tournament,
not
so
much
so
coach
Smith
happy
to
get
a
win
on
coach,
Johnny
Williams.
Let's
take
a
look
at
the
final
stats
here
from
Northeastern
and
first
that's
gonna
be
team
Williams.
If
a.
B
Tell
ya
it's
interesting
Williams!
We
knew
he.
He
would
be
a
good
score
of
25
points.
Wiggins
and
14
Marshall,
the
LCME
player
with
seven
rebounds.
You
had
a
car
with
six
rebounds
and
then
eight
assists
for
sales,
while
Marshall
chipped
in
with
seven
assists.
So
even
though
the
stats
they
were
clearly
one-sided
in
terms
of
the
score,
29
point
wins
for
Team
Smith.
They
have
a
good
chance
to
see
the
kind
of
talent
they
Boston
had,
especially
for
seniors
did.
B
A
B
A
That's
right:
that's
right,
certainly
a
good
program
here
at
Northeastern
and
certainly
a
fun
team
to
follow
as
well
and
folks.
You
want
to
follow
these
games.
You
can
certainly
go
to

and
did
a
great

in

here
at

you
very
much
