Description
The heat of summer has made its way into basketball gyms across the city, the 2017 Boston Neighborhood Basketball League season! We open at the Madison Park Community Center in Roxbury for a game in the Boys 13 & Under Division, as the Shelburne takes on Porter House!
A
A
Hello,
everybody
welcome
to
Madison
Park
Community
Center
in
Roxbury,
as
we
open
up
our
coverage
of
the
2017
Boston
neighborhood
basketball
season
tonight,
when
the
boys
13
and
under
division.
As
the
Shelburne
takes
on
Porter
house,
hello,
everybody
I'm,
Pat
flattery
jump
on
my
partner.
As
always
Allen
Platte
Alba
kick
off
the
bmbl
season
another
year
here
in
summer
league
basketball,
always
a
lot
of
fun,
always
helped
us.
Celtic
kids
are
on
vacation
playing
a
you
got
jobs,
so
it's
always
a
little
bit
hectic,
but
still
always
a
good
time.
Here.
We.
B
Like
you
say,
there's
a
lot
of
fun.
These
kids
are
excited
FX,
nice,
matchup,
interesting
now,
one
team
for
the
house
is
two
and
Oh.
Meanwhile,
the
shell
brothers
who's
had
some
trouble
getting
good
team
together.
Just
like
you
mentioned,
kids
are
away
camp
whatever
their
own,
but
spirits
they're,
beginning
of
the
bmbl
season,
everybody's
looking
forward
to
try
to
have
a
good
summer
and,
of
course,
in
August
big
championship,
which
is
culminates
everything.
That's.
A
Right
now
we
look
at
the
3900
guys.
You
don't
necessarily
think.
Oh
these
guys
are
players
that
we're
going
to
see
later
on,
but
we
have
seen
guys
in
this
13
under
vision.
Go
on
to
very
successful
high
school
careers,
one
guys
Jordan
Galloway
we're
going
to
look
at
he's.
Our
spotlight
player
tonight
he's
obviously
not
playing
in
this.
B
Game
I
was
torn
up
today,
13
year
old
will
be
very
good
at
the
energy
roll
excellent,
which
the
bmbl
championship
and,
of
course
we
saw
him
at
Brighton
had
a
very
good
career
at
Brighton.
High
School
turns
into
was
the
excellent
point
guard
and
a
scorer
as
we
became
a
junior
and
a
senior.
So
is
this
series
in
Brighton,
as.
A
A
potential
future
state
championship
game
right,
Yeah,
right
and
just
won
the
Division
two
state
championship
here
in
2017,
so
Jordan
after
having
a
very
good
bmbl,
see,
there's
a
13
year
old
has
continued
it
on
the
high
school
court.
Yet
19
points
and
four
boards
in
the
bmbl
championship
back
in
two
thousand
twelve
of
the
thirteen
year
old
19
for
our
16
points.
B
All-Around
player
I
reckon
is
interesting
because,
like
you
said
as
a
youngster,
he
was
more
of
a
distributor
more
of
a
point
guy,
but
as
he
grew
couple
years
later
by
senior
season,
he
was
definitely
a
complete
guard
and
one
of
these
kids
opening
a
few
of
these
kids
who
we'll
see
tonight,
will
follow
that
same
path.
That's.
C
Thanks
guys
and
I
got
to
speak
to
both
coaches
just
before
the
game
star
and
it's
summer
league
here
and
we're
just
two
weeks
in
so
the
big
word.
The
big
word
of
the
night
is
fundamentals.
One
coach
was
mentioning
that
he
wants
the
players
to
really
take
care
of
the
basketball
focus
on
the
bounce
pass
and
the
you
know
to
keep
it
simple
out
on
the
floor.
Another
coach
was
talking
about
just
sharing
the
ball
a
lot
on
offense,
so
we're
looking
for
a
team.
C
That's
gelling
well
for
early
in
the
summer
league-
and
you
got
to
remember
these-
are
young
kids,
so
keeping
it
simple.
Protecting
the
basketball
will
yield
good
results
in
the
end.
So
back
to
you
guys
in
the
booth.
B
I
also
create
a
big
deficit
defeat
it.
You
know
it
happened
over
and
over
again,
so
now,
but
interesting.
Both
these
coaches
were
excellent
players
themselves,
both
Ricky
Lambright
for
the
shelburne
and
Korean
Porter
for
Porter
house.
So
they
know
what
it's
like
it
wasn't
that
long
ago
that
they
were
playing
and
these
types
of
leagues
so
I'm
interested
to
see
how
this
works
out.
Even
though
we
have
a
one,
two
team
going
against
a
two
Orochi
yeah.
A
Bmbl,
you
just
never
know
because
guys
are
all
over
the
place
throughout
the
summer.
One
thing
I
always
like
to
see
is
these
young
kids
on
the
big
courts
through?
This
is
a
you
know,
one
of
the
biggest
high
school
courts
in
this
'ready.
It's
a
big
gym
got
a
big
atmosphere.
This
is
what
the
city
championship
has
held.
So
you
wonder
if
these
young
guys
think
about
that
as
they
play
game.
D
B
B
A
Question
so
it's
the
shelburne
taking
on
Porter
house
we're
just
about
set
to
go
here
at
center
court
at
Madison,
Park,
Community
Center
in
Roxbury
boys,
13
and
under
division.
As
we've
said,
always
the
young
guys
always
a
lot
of
fun,
always
a
lot
of
hustle
out
of
these
young
guys-
and
you
know
these
guys
haven't
really
had
the
experience
of
playing
on
camera
yet
either.
So
this
will
be
a
lot
of
fun.
I'll
tell.
B
B
B
A
B
A
B
Surprises
such
a
nice
drive
to
the
basket
like
that's
a
Kristen
Oldman
but
interesting.
The
UT
those
crucial
euros
ago
decided
height
difference
with
courthouse
in
the
bandits
Lisa.
Can
we
employ
the
coach
reenact
see
play
college
basketball
at
RCC
part
of
the
national
championship
team
seven
years
ago,
Christopher.

B
Where
you
picked
up
from
the
first,
what
the
first
minute
you
saw
aggressive
to
the
hoop,
like
you
said,
offensive
rebounding
and
they've
been
Mason
three-point
shots,
so
Porter
he'll
hit.
Has
it
all
going?
You
can
see
why
they're
two-and-oh
Haven
the
early
going
at
this
season
and
Shelburne
is
just
going
to
figure
out
some
way
to
avoid
all
those
turnovers
we
talked
about
in
the
open
the
turnovers
at
this
level.
If
this
a
it's,
usually
pile-up
in
the
snow
ball
against
you,
that's
exactly
what's
happening
to
Shelburne.
B
Little
open
wall,
I
stash
of
yeah
I
mean
they
share
the
ball
well,
and
it's
almost
like
head
coach
Kareem,
for
it
gives
them
the
green
light
as
long
as
you're
open
in
your
range
take
the
shot
and
we're
seeing
that
kind
of
confidence
and
the
other
thing
it
does.
It
allows
the
big
fella
inside
the
port
house,
who
has
a
height
advantage,
get
some
offensive
rebounds
either
put
it
right
back
or
kick
it
back
out
and
start
the
office
over.
That's.
B
B
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Madison

Community
Center
in
Roxbury
for
our
coverage
of
the
Boston
neighborhood
basketball
league
here
in
the
summer
of
2017.
This
is
our
first
weekend
coverage
actually
second
week
of
the
B
NBL
and
right
now,
porterhouse
defeat
er
up
up
by
19
against
Shelburne
here
in
the
boys
13
and
under
division,
Shelburne,
going
to
start
off
with
the
basketball
here
in
the
second
half
we'll
see
if
they
can
get.
Maybe
a
quick
run
here
to
start
off
the
half
get
them
back
in
this
I
get.

Good
game
from
start
to
finish
for
the
porterhouse
as
they
escape
with
a
twenty
one
point
win
over
the
Shelburne
here
in
the
boys
13
under
bmbl
division
at
the
Madison
Park
Community,
Center,
Roxbury
and
Allen,
just
porterhouse
very
aggressive,
played
well
together.
You
mentioned
the
first
half
there
in
some
set
place.
B
That
we
often
don't
have
in
Belfast
first
five
minutes.
They
clearly
was
swinging
the
ball
looking
inside
the
place
or
the
inside-out
Davila
Davis
he
biggest
play
on
the
floor
when
inside
in
couple
times
he
kicked
it
back
out
to
open
shooters
buried
those
three-pointers
and
before
you
know,
is
a
huge
lead,
even
before
Shelburne
scored
their
first
basket.
That's.
A
B
Yeah
easily
here
easily
and
although
all
the
pmbl
coaches
go
into
the
season,
knowing
that
this
phosphorus,
like
okay,
the
porterhouse
team,
if
they
lose
a
couple
of
kids
to
overnight
camp
or
some
variation
trip,
sure
there'll,
be
you
know,
a
lesser
team,
so
it
all
sort
of
in
a
strange
kind
of
way.
It
gives
these
teams
a
chance
to
balance
things
out
right.
A
A
No
question
see
how
these
things
unfold
throughout
the
rest
of
the
bmbl
season
and
to
the
main
goal
of
the
Reggie
Lewis
Center
in
August.
Folks,
we
want
to
thank
you
very
much
for
joining
us
here
in
game
of
the
week
we're
going
to
head
to
break
when
we
come
back.
We'll
have
our
game
of
the
week
MVP
in
our
final
stats
from
this
game.
Before
we
sign
off
here
from
Madison
Park
make
sure
you
stick
around.
H
When
I
was
six,
my
days
were
spent
playing
basketball
when
I
was
six
my
dreams
to
make
it
to
the
NBA.
When
I
was
six,
my
mom
had
a
stroke,
I'm,
Paul,
George
and
I
want
you
to
spot
a
stroke
fast
F
face
drooping
a
arm
weakness,
s
speech,
difficult
teeth,
time
to
call
9-1-1
protect
the
ones
you
love
spot,
a
stroke
fast.
G
When
I
was
in
foster
care,
I
never
knew
when
I
would
have
to
move
so
I
always
had
my
suitcase
ready
to
go.
Then
one
day
I
was
adopted.
My
linked
parents
opened
their
heart
and
home
to
me.
My
parents
took
my
favorite
breakfast
for
me.
Every
morning
my
parents
take
me
on
trips,
I,
never
thought
I
was
gone.
G
G
D
C
G
A
A
C
I
C
I
C
F
Don't
want
to
muck
seem
to
get
any
distractions
when
we're
up
by
a
lot
and
I
just
make
sure
that
we're
doing
the
right
things
and
we're
staying
disciplined.
That's
what
I've
been
doing
with
these
kids
as
a
Benson
I
have
the
second
and
third
grade
so
not
in
seventh
grade
they
played
with
different
teams,
but
now
I
resent
my
whole
team
back.
So
we're
back
to
the
way
for
the
house
is
to
play
basketball,
yeah.
C
F
Just
moving
the
ball
around
the
perimeter
like
we
know
how
to
like
how
they
was
taught
and
passed
and
cut
I
have
no
one
stand
still
in
my
often,
if
someone's
standing
still
I
know
that
they
don't
know
to
play
and
they
would
be
subbed
out
and
I
would
tell
them
why
he
came
out
and
not
to
stay
in
school
anymore.
And
then
we
go
from
here
all.
F
A
A
B
B
Not
much
there
me
see,
say
the
big
kid
off
the
bench.
Second
half
he
has
had
some
energy
has
got
some
a
few
rebounds
was
able
to
get
six
points
worth
had
that
one
three-pointer
in
the
first
half
that
was
the
only
school
that
he
was
able
to
get
the
wrong
shot:
top
off
CC
six
rebounds
Smith
young,
with
five
rebounds
and
just
one
assists
because
the
Shelburne
offensive
never
really
get
in
sync
at
all.
Let's.
B
Porterhouse
much
more
spread
out
view,
as
you
can
see,
Norman
with
11
points
and
Bailey
followed
up
with
819
between
the
two
of
them
rebounds,
Bailey
and
Porter,
both
with
four
and
then
four
assists
between
Bailey
and
Davila
Jia.
The
real
key
is,
was
the
biggest
kid
in
the
school
still
had
four
assists
throughout
the
game
without.
A
Question
a
lot
of
fun
watching
those
guys
out
there
and
a
lot
of
fun
watching
those
guys
sharing
the
basketball
folks.
