Description
We kick off our coverage of the 2018 BNBL season with the Boys 18 & Under defending champion Lee School squad as they take on Rox Star 119 at the Perkins Community Center in Dorchester.
A
Hello,
everybody
welcome
to
the
Perkins
Community
Center
in
Dorchester,
as
we
open
up
our
coverage
of
the
2018
Boston
neighborhood
Basketball
League
season.
Tonight
we
got
a
Boise
18
and
under
game
between
the
Leigh
school
and
rock
star
119
everybody
I'm
Pat
Flavio.
My
partner
has
always
Allen
Platte
Allen
we're
in
the
summer
months.
It's
always
hot
in
the
gym
and
it's
always
hot.
On
the
basketball
court.
We
got
a
lot
of
players
and
teams
and
kids
from
the
city
playing
Boston,
neighborhood
basketball.
Here
in
the
bmbl.
It's
always
a
lot
of
fun.
B
Always
is
it's:
it
makes
sense
that
we
start
here
at
the
Lee
school,
because
they're,
18
and
under
teams
I
should
say
that
they
always
have
our
competitive
teams.
They've
won
the
last
three
championships
from
bmbl
in
the
division,
so
Eric
Bradshaw,
just
just
has
so
the
Machine
going
in
terms
of
younger
players
wanting
to
move
up
and
play
the
entire
bmbl
Korea's
here
with
the
lease
fee.
No.
A
B
Really
is
it:
this
is
one
of
the
more
popular
community
center
gyms
in
terms
of
recreation,
basketball,
after-school
programs
for
younger
kids
and
these
schools
right
next
door.
So
over
the
years,
there's
just
be
a
magnet
for
players
who
really
want
to
test
their
games,
hone
their
skills
and
really
become
better
at
higher
levels
of
high
school
and
then,
hopefully,
on
to
college.
We've.
Certainly.
A
Seen
a
lot
of
their
players
move
on
to
that
level,
guys
like
a.j,
Reeves,
David
Mitchell,
will
see
tonight
he's
going
to
Brown
next
year,
so
a
lot
of
players
that
are
moving
on
to
that
college
level
come
out
of
this
site
now
for
more
on
this
game,
we're
gonna
go
to
our
sideline
reporter
to
Cora.
Mcentire
who's
got
an
update
for
us
to
Cora.
What
do
you
have.
C
Thanks
guys,
I
spoke
to
Eric
Bradshaw
before
the
game
and
he
said
he's
really
looking
forward
to
tonight.
Apparently
it's
a
rival
game,
the
rock
stars
to
beat
the
leasco
in
a
tournament
outside
over
the
weekend.
The
leasco
is
the
fourth
time
winning
champion
and
the
rock
stars
are
coming
in.
Looking
for
vengeance
back
to
you
guys.
A
A
What
it's
their
home
right?
It
should
be
a
fun
one
here
at
the
Perkins
community
said
it
looks
like
we're
just
about
set
to
go
behind
us
here
for
the
boys,
18
and
under
division
in
the
Boston
neighborhood
Basketball
League,
we
got
the
Lee
school
and
the
light
blue
jerseys
rocks
star
1
1
9
in
the
yellow
jerseys
and,
as
we
mentioned,
a
lot
of
players
that
we
are
familiar
with
from
the
high
school
season
are
on.
Both
these
teams
leave
schools
got
a
lot
of
players
from
the
dorcette.
A
E
A
B
And
what's
unusual
about
this
particular
site
just
about
every
summer,
at
the
NBL,
it
attracts
very
high-level
teams
in
the
same
division
like
we've,
we've
missed
a
matter
of
fact.
One
of
the
championships
at
least
school
had
they
ended
up
playing
their
own
against,
went
when
their
own
schools
from
the
same
team
girl
from
the
same
site.
So
it's
a
little
unusual,
but
that's
again,
that's
the
tradition.
So
the
history
each
summer
here
at
the
leaf
school
yeah.
F
B
You
mentioned
David
Mitchell
on
his
way
to
brown.
That's
his
father.
I
actually
came
by
well
before
the
game
and
he
was
saying
that
Ron
came
after
David.
He
was
after
sophomore
year.
So
once
David
visited
and
a
couple
times
really
liked
it
down
there,
it
was
sort
of
a
done
deal.
You
lot
of
times
high
level
players
will
have
two
or
three
for
the
top
choices
that
they
consider
me
but
see.
Mecca
is
pretty
easy
for
young
David.
B
A
A
Their
home
games,
which,
in
the
past
two
last
year,
AJ
Reeves,
was
on
this
leave
school
team,
he's
now
I
believe
it
Providence
College.
So
you
got
two
guys
down
in
Providence
that
are
Division
one
athletes.
Out
of
awesome.
We
are
underway
here
at
the
Perkins
as
rockstar
one-one-nine
controls,
the
opening
tap.
A
A
For
Edwin
Edwin
has
a
dumb
one
with
that
nice
ride.
Gordon
Finley
school
on
top
here
in
the
opening
two
minutes,
Quincy
Taylor,
trying
to
squeeze
it
inside
tap,
then
no
good
from
the
Taylor.
B
A
B
A
B
G
A
B
B
A
B
B
A
B
A
B
B
B
A
B
B
B
Well,
I'm
gonna
get
a
shot.
It
seems
to
me
that
they,
like
I,
said
before
that
they've
been
they've,
probably
had
some
success
over
the
weekend
when
they
played
with
the
dribble
drive
the
penetration
boy.
That's
not
happened
tonight
at
all
now,
I'll
know
if
Lee
school
is
with
this
2-3
zone
has
just
decided
to
collapse
on
the
ball
wherever
it
goes.
That's
that's
what
we're
seeing
in
the
number
of
steals
is.
It
has
been
outrageous
in
the
first
half.
A
One
player
that
is
on
the
Rockstar
roster,
who
I
don't
see
yes
tonight,
is
Terrence
Clark.
We
saw
him
last
year
over
and
the
15
and
under
division
come
at
a
this
site
as
well
and
very
talented
player.
He
is
so
I'm
sure
that
definitely
hurts
this
team.
They
finally
get
their
first
basket
inside
scoring
underneath
to.
A
B
A
B
To
save
me,
leave
school
both
ends
of
the
floor.
The
deflections
and
steals
have
legend
easy,
baskets,
they're
good
outside
shooting,
like
I,
said
before
the
offensive
rebound
has
just
been
dominant,
not
just
actually
on
the
backboard
for
getting
loose
balls
out
beyond
the
foul
line.
I'm
not
I,
just
don't
understand
why
the
Rockstar
play
is
the
smaller
quicker
players.
On
occasion,
some
of
those
balls
first.
A
They
certainly
have
guys
who
could
score
the
basketball.
You
got
Melvin
Cuevas
and
we
saw
it
in
that
state
tournament.
Game
to
Fenway
then
take
it
to
the
hoop
can
also
knock
down
shots,
so
they
certainly
have
players
who
can
score,
but
it's
just
been
such
a
tough,
tough,
just
tough
sledding
here
in
the
first
time.
B
F
A
A
Nunez
knocks
down
the
first
osmond,
a
good
free-throw
shooting.
There
was
so
many
seniors
to
port
departing
the
tech,
Boston,
Bears,
Allen
and
I.
Believe
Shamar
Browder
is
just
a
junior
coming
into
this
upcoming
season.
Those
are
two
guys
that
are
probably
going
to
have
to
pick
up
the
scoring
lower
to
the
Red
Cross
in
bed.
B
B
B
B
I
think
both
teams
are
surprised
Fred,
because
I
did
no
way
the
rockstars
thought
they
started
out
this
poorly
and
also
I.
Don't
think
that
Lisa
thought
it
would
be
so
seemingly
easy
I
mean
it.
They
just
deflecting
the
ball,
getting
steals
getting
layups
when
they're
the
half-court
set
move
the
ball
around,
get
open
threes
and
hit
them
offensive.
Rebounds
put
backs
someone's
like
a
practice
drill.
A
A
D
E
A
B
A
A
B
It
mentally
is
difficult
when
you're
used
to
being
a
very
competitive
team
and
they
yeah
that
the
football,
tough
ending
but
I
say
went
with
the
night.
We
went
out
basketball,
the
state
trim
that
came
out
knowledge,
and
that
was
one
of
the
most
fun
games.
We
had
all
season
that
was
a
phenomenal
back
and
forth
back
and
forth.
Brighton
had
to
fight
back
a
few
times
and
finally
win
it
in
the
ends
which
Quincy
tale
was
a
big
part
of
that
no.
A
B
B
B
See
the
problem
with
a
big
big
score
like
this:
is
it
get
too
emotional
because
of
both
teams?
I
think
rightfully
so
expected
to
have
a
close
game?
Well,
you
know
hard
fought,
but
it's
turned
into
an
early
blowout
and
just
a
lot
of
back-and-forth,
not
sure
what
the
silent
was
long
at
the
sideline
at
all,
but.
B
B
B
A
B
B
H
B
B
A
B
A
And
then
you
also
see
the
the
Lee
school
taken
advantage.
They're
also
knocking
down
their
free
throws
I
think
they've
only
missed
one,
so
there's
certainly
taken
advantage
of
all
their
opportunities
here
in
the
first
half
now
our
sideline
reporter
to
Cora
McIntyre
is
got
an
interview
of
one
of
the
coaches
over
near
the
bench,
so
it
Sakura
take
it
away
all.
C
I
Keep
working
hard
don't
give
up
the
software's
games,
so
just
keep
working
hard,
don't
give
up,
don't
give
up
on
each
other
play
unselfish,
but
this
is
our
first
game
they've
been
playing
with
each
other
for
awhile.
We
beat
them
this
weekend
in
the
championship,
game
and
the
tournament,
so
they
were
a
little
excited,
but
we'll
be
alright,
we'll
be
all
right.
A
B
Understand
how
you
can
come
out
overconfident
against
a
we
school
team,
but
you're
right,
I
think
that's
that's
what
we
saw
some
of
that
with
they're
not
reacting
to
loose
balls,
not
getting
any
steals
while
Reese
quill
got
9
steals
in
that
first
half.
So
those
are
all
the
signs
of
a
team
that
is
coming
out
a
little
flat.
A
No
question
we'll
see
if
they
can
recover
here
in
the
second
half
folks.
We
want
to
follow
us
on
social
media
can
certainly
go
to
Facebook
search
for
a
game
of
the
week
here
in
Boston
on
Facebook,
a
lot
of
good
stuff
up
on
our
Facebook
page
you're
gonna
also
follow
us
on
Twitter
at
Boston,
City
TV.
If
you
want
to
tweet
at
us,
use
the
hashtag
boston
g
o
w.
We
got
quick
half
times
here
in
the
BMV
L.
B
A
A
B
B
A
Goes
back
to
blue
golf
stuff
and
you
know
because
it's
the
first
game
of
the
season
for
both
these
teams.
Sometimes
the
officials
in
and
being
the
elephant,
she's
gonna
say:
okay,
guys,
here's
here's
the
rules
of
this
week.
Again,
let's
set
this
straight
in
the
first
week,
and
now
we
got
another
foul
inside
I'm
lee
school
I'll.
B
A
A
B
A
B
A
A
E
A
A
D
B
B
But
I
was
saying
you
seen
such
a
contrast.
The
these
school
in
light
blue
everything
is
a
past
in
the
open
guy
meanwhile
week
to
seven
hesitation
from
rock
stars,
Lutz
must
dribbling
trying
to
force
drives
to
just
aren't
there
now,
like
you
said
all
these
deflections
of
steals
this
end
up
in
easy,
layups
and.
B
F
J
A
A
B
I
won't
think
about
pmbl,
because
during
the
course
of
the
summer
beer
market,
lady,
said
every
year,
players
go
away
to
camps
to
go
away
your
school
visits.
They
go
on
vacation,
they
have
different
job
schedule.
So
a
lot
of
times
you
end
up
with
not
your
complete
team
unless,
until
usually
the
end
of
the
playoffs
right.
That's
when
players
try
to
work
out
there
all
their
other
schedules.
They
can
play
this
if
it's
a
game.
But
that's
a
good
point
you
made
about
about
the
Rob,
stop
missing.
A
Sure
I
mean
everybody
gets
busy
during
the
summer
time.
You
know
there's
no
school
for
any
of
these
guys,
some
of
them,
like
you,
mentioned
with
the
jobs,
if
Shamar
Browder
coming
back
in
camps,
these
two
teams
traveled
to
go
play
in
a
tournament
this
past
weekend.
So
some
of
these
other
guys
have
a
plane
on
three
four
or
five
different
teams
over
the
summer,
which
is
hard
to
imagine.
But
that's
how
that's
how
basketball
is
now
you've
got
so
many
players
on
so
many
different
team.
All.
B
A
A
B
A
A
A
B
Again,
it's
talking
about
the
Big
East,
how
about
sorry
I
believe
so
it's
still
condition
one
basketball
and
he's
gonna
have
some.
You
know.
Obviously,
a
lot
bigger
players
play
against,
but
I
think
the
key
contributing
hang
on
the
ball
pretty
well,
it's
gonna
help
I.
Think
he'll
be
probably
like
a
small
forward
in
some
cases
against
certain
changes
shoe
guard.
B
A
E
B
Again,
he's
mean
yes,
the
physical
talent
and
again
the
way
I
like
about
him.
Is
he
plays
under
control
to
a
young
player?
A
lot
I
think,
that's,
that's.
Probably
one
of
the
things
did
that
Brown
really
liked
it.
Knowing
very,
very
coachable,
understands
that
they've
been
playing
I
remember
when
he
was
younger.
He
had
a
growth
spurt,
maybe
about
four
years
ago
and
his
father
I
was
about
the
same
size
actually,
but
for
a
long
time
he
wouldn't
show,
if
someone's
kind
of
be
that
that's
all
right,
but
he
didn't
have
a
gross
spirit.
B
A
B
A
F
A
B
B
A
And
it
looks
like
that
is
gonna.
Do
it
here
at
the
Brooklyn
Center
in
Dorchester,
the
Lee
school
takes
down
rockstar
one-one-nine
59
to
21,
as
we
mentioned
in
the
open.
These
two
teams
played
over
the
weekend
in
a
tournament
where
rock
star
actually
beat
this
league
school
team.
We've
said
before
we
may
be.
This
rock
star
team
has
missed
some
players
for
this
game
here
in
being
be
able
to
see
that
all
the
time,
but
certainly
they
came
out
flat
and
just
had
a
tough
time
from
the
get-go
and
never
really
would.
B
B
G
J
When
I
was
in
foster
care,
I
never
knew
when
I
would
have
to
move
so
I
always
had
my
suitcase
ready
to
go.
Then
one
day
I
was
adopted.
My
new
parents
opened
their
hearts
and
home
to
me.
My
parents
cooked
my
favorite
breakfast
for
me.
Every
morning
my
parents
take
me
on
trips,
I,
never
thought
I
was
gone.

I
I
A
Welcome
back
to
the
Perkins
Community
Center
in
Dorchester
at
the
conclusion,
a
game
of
the
week
police
school
takes
down
rock
star,
1,
1
9
and
the
boys
18
and
under
division.
Here
in
week,
1
of
the
Boston
neighborhood
Basketball
League
and
a
lot
of
players
from
this
Lee
school
team
had
some
great
games.
You
know
we
saw
it.
We
talked
about
David
Mitchell
a
lot
because
that
the
player
he
is
he
had
a
double-double
tonight
we
saw
Lauren
Bennett
from
tech.
Boston
had
a
nice
game,
but
Jamar
Browder,
just
throughout
the
game.
B
A
C
H
H
C
L
Nice,
where
this
is
a
game,
but
it's
just
that
over
the
weekend
there
had
been
another
tournament.
There
was
a
lot
of
stuff
on
social
media,
but
said
about
us.
That's
really
not
true.
We
wanted
with
a
four-time
champion
and
then
it
kinda
like
disrespect
us
of
the
gaming
statement
to
them
that
we're
still
here,
alright.
C
L
Moses
is
our
defense
and
then
I
office.
Don't
make
bad
decisions
like
Alan
I,
cut
the
bags
and
usually
doesn't
make,
but
then
we
got
David
Gibran
to
clean
it
up.
We're
just
you
know,
really
helped
us
out.
I
know
sure
Magan.
If
it
steals
so
just
make
sure
we
have
a
good
possession
every
time
down
and
no
matter
what
we're
doing
that.
Often
all.
A
B
Create
all
those
easy
baths
right,
that's
always
the
case,
and
that's
that's
where
he
that's.
Why
it's
strange
when
you,
if
the
people
who
have
never
seen
Erica
on
the
sideline
as
a
coach,
a
lot
of
times,
he'll
be
up.
15
20
points
call
timeout,
because
there's
a
bad
defensive
play
and
like
I,
said
first
time
sitting
me
understand
it,
but
that
he
keep
before
he
impresses
it
so
much
on
his
team
that
eventually
they
all
learned.
A
So
you
know
certainly
new
mission
in
their
and
their
years
when
they
won
state
championships
and
that
defense
is
always
what
wins
games.
So
you
see
they
saw
that
here
tonight
for
the
leave
school.
Let's
take
a
look
at
the
final
stats
in
this
game
before
we
sign
off
from
the
Birkins
Center
and
first
up,
it's
gonna
be
the
stats
from
the
rocks,
all-star
Rockstar.
B
And
they
were
nice,
they
weren't
much
rock
stars
and
I'm
just
gonna,
say
everything's
in
single
digits,
yeah
how'd.
They
ever
see
that
in
a
any
basketball
game,
Kezia,
which
five
Taylor
the
three
rebounds
Taylor
to
have
nine
rebounds
is
there
with
four
rebounds
and
then
they
only
had
three
assistants
rings,
James
and
flowers,
not
much
going
at
all
for
the
Rostov
from
beginning
to
end.
Now,
let's
look
at
glee.
Schools.
B
A
B
Over
earlier
yeah,
unfortunately,
for
everybody
but
yeah
the
first
10
minutes
where
Groff's
toss
it
in
a
score
point
and
loose
cooled
meet
with.
Not
only
were
they
score
him
to
your
score
so
easily,
that's
right,
a
deflection
of
rebound
offensive
rebound
the
hustle
play
to
actual
loose
ball,
all
ending
up
with
either
layup
or
an
open
three.
They
actually
made
a
couple
of
threes
in
that
early
run
when
they
were
shutting
out
rockstars.
That's.
A
Right
means
something
so
at
least
we'll
get
off
to
a
good
start,
rock
stars
not
so
much
and
that
continued
throughout
the
rest
of
the
game.
So
