Description
We kick off day 2 of the BNBL Championships with the young guys, as the Spartans take on the Panthers in the Boys 13 & Under title game at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury.
A
Hello,
everybody
welcome
to
the
Reggie
Lewis
Center
in
Roxbury,
as
we
bring
you,
the
2017
boys,
bmbl
championships
and
first
up
it's
a
boys
13-under
division
as
the
Boston
Panthers
take
on
the
Boston
Spartans
hello,
everybody,
I'm
pat
flower
jomo,
my
partner,
Allen
Platt
Allen.
Last
night
we
had
the
girls,
be
NBA.
Championships
had
a
really
good
game
in
the
15th
under
vision,
but
three
pretty
good
games
all
around
tonight.
It's
the
boys
turn
and
we
look
at
the
13
and
under
division.
B
B
And
the
bad
thing
is,
like
you
just
said,
by
pee-yew
programs,
the
kids
play
literally
all
year
round.
Some
of
them
actually
play
together
from
opposite
to
him,
so
it
since
arrests
we'll
talk
about
that
during
the
game,
but
for
the
most
part
it
could
be
look
deceiving.
This
is
13
under,
but
these
are
the
some
very
experienced
players.
Did
this
play.
A
C
B
That's
and
that's
what
happens.
I
mean
these.
These
two
teams
come
from
our
strong
sites.
I
mean
we
have
one
from
the
leave
school
one
from
the
content,
so
that
these
are
like
we
said
going
back
to
that
first
game
to
you,
the
inventions
we
thought
one
of
those
teams
might
make
it
here,
but
these
tombs.
These
teams
here
obviously
play
better
than
the
playoffs,
and
here
they
are
without.
B
I
mean
the
kids,
especially
at
this
age,
at
13-under.
They
look
for
confidence
from
coaches.
They
may
not,
they
won't
admit
it,
but
to
start
the
game,
their
little
jitters
all
the
time.
So
if
the
coach
can
say
something
or
do
something
or
just
help
them
sort
of
get
over
that
and
get
right
into
playing
ball,
then
that's
the
team.
They'll
pick
to
get
go
of
to
get
off
to
a
fast
start
without.
A
Question
we'll
see
which
coach
gets
their
team
off
to
a
fast
start
here,
because
it
always
seems,
like
teams,
got
a
little
bit
of
the
jitters
to
start
off
the
championship
game,
especially
the
13
and
under
division.
Now,
for
more
on
this
game,
we're
gonna
go
to
our
sideline
reporter
Seth
or
renske
who's
gonna
update
on
this
game.
Seth.
What
do
you
have
thanks.
D
Guys,
one
of
the
players
to
watch
in
this
matchup
is
the
Panthers
number
12
Abdullah
Mohammed,
it's
one
of
the
oldest
players
in
this
league.
He
just
turned
14,
which
is
eligible
according
to
league
rules,
and
he
stands
at
six
foot.
Five
typically
plays
with
the
Spartans
during
the
regular
season,
all
through
the
fall
and
spring,
but
because
head
coach,
Joe
Chapman
wasn't
sure
if
the
Spartans
were
gonna
have
a
team
this
summer
he
said
sure
go
ahead
and
play
for
the
Panthers.
Well,
they'll
have
to
deal
with
their
teammate
throughout
the
school
year.
D
A
B
The
size
is
probably
gonna
be
as
the
the
telling
factor
if
he
has
a
good
game,
but
again
13
under
you
can
be
interchangeable.
The
main
thing
is
you
want,
whatever
team
you're
playing
with
for
that
particular
game.
You
want
to
win
and,
like
you
said,
experience,
coaching
helps
a
lot.
That's
rhombic,
kids
down
keep
them
in
their
sets.
Keep
them
focused
on
both
offense
and
defense.
I'm,
looking
forward
to
it
to
a
well
play
game
because,
like
I
said
a
you,
programs
have
the
kids
playing
literally
all
year
round,
yeah.

Welcome
back
to
the
Reggie
Lewis
Center
inner
Roxbury,
as
we
bring
you
the
2017
boys,
bmbl
basketball
championships.
First
up
we
got
the
boys
13
and
under
division,
we're
just
about
set
to
get
go
here
at
the
Reggie
Spartans
and
the
orange
uniforms
with
the
black
shorts.
Meanwhile,
the
Panthers
in
the
red
jerseys.
A

Follow
that
that
one
there
was
a
toast
to
try
and
get
back
his
ball
stolen
he's
trying
to
get
back
and
RIT
did
actually
little
push.

D
Panthers,
head
coach,
Gregory
lost
and
gave
a
big
piece
of
credit
to
his
son.
Malik,
who
said
was
the
recruiter
of
this
team.
He
looked
around
found
some
of
his
biggest
and
tallest
friends,
recruited
to
them
to
the
team.
They
play
a
you
together,
at
least
six
of
them.
They
recruited
five
additional
players
this
summer
and
they've
obviously
had
a
lot
of
success
playing
together
for
the
first
time
ever
this
summer,
we'll
see
if
they
can
come
away
with
the
title
tonight,
guys.
A
Thanks
very
much
sense,
a
lot
of
times
you
see
some
of
these
teams
and
not
necessarily
with
the
younger
division.
Where
players
like
we
saw
yesterday,
the
showstoppers
there's
some
girls
on
those
teams
that
played
together
for
six
seven
here.
These
guys
it's
their
first
year
altogether,
big
time
block
underneath
by
Timmy
O'toole,
that's
gonna
stay
with
the
Pampas.
A
A
B
C
B
A

F
C
Z
A
A
B
A
A
B
B
B
To
just
go
after
every
steal,
you
know
a
lot
of
coaches
won't
do
that,
because
it's
if
you
don't
get
the
steal,
you're,
giving
up
an
advantage
offensive
ly,
but
did
you
know
they
live
that
way
and,
as
a
matter
of
fact,
they
won
this
semifinal
game.
Really
good
contests
against
another
team
from
the
Lee
school
beat
them
because
of
the
God
play.
So
it's
it's
it.
This
team
is
a
good
example.
B
When
we
talk
about
how
basketball
is
a
sport
that
you
can
win
in
a
lot
of
different
ways,
they
don't
have
to
always
have
the
biggest
team.
You
don't
always
have
to
have
had
the
best
shooting
team,
but
if
you
have
quickness
with
guys
who
play
together,
move
the
ball
wait
for
open
shots.
This
is
this
is
the
result.
A
Off
the
inbound
pass,
that's
a
tool
in
another
block;
now
they
get
it
up.
Felder
fell
there
off
the
crossover,
oh
I,
couldn't
put
it
on
O'toole
I'm,
able
to
put
it
back
up
and
in
and
Williams
are
stepping
out
of
bounds.
I'll
go
back
to
the
Panthers,
just
talking
about
sort
of
the
identity
for
the
Spartans,
not
quite
sure.
Yet
what
the
identity
is.
B
B
B
B
B
What
the
loss
and
coaches
have
to
be
aware
of
is
the
attitude
of
your
team
make
sure
they
keep
their
heads
in
the
game.
They
again
see
the
foot.
Does
they
just
have
instincts
every
instant
for
this
spot
and
save
and
ground
is
to
go
for
steal,
and
that's
that
is
really
unusual,
but
for
them
it
works.
Yeah.
B
With
a
problem
he
wants
to
talk
about,
he's
upset
about
the
lack
of
calls
he
thinks
to
his
couple
of
his
players.
Have
gotten
hit
going
to
the
basket
and
on
a
couple
of
steals,
he
thought
there
was
contact.
That's
that's
what
you
want
to
commit
call
a
timeout,
not
so
much
for
his
team,
but
more
to
talk
to
the
officials
all
right
that
last
night
after
the
girls
gonna
talk
to
longtime
coach,
at
least
school
Eric
Bradshaw,
his
his
13
of
the
team
lost
his
to
these
spots.
B
Now
he
did
it
not
as
an
excuse
at
all,
but
he
was
saying
how
is
his
best
point.
Guard
was
on
vaycay
mr.
game,
but
they're
still
close
game.
He
said,
watch
the
deer
guards
they
go
after
every
steal.
They
take
chances
that
you,
you
think,
would
be
considered
bad
basketball,
bad
defense,
but
they
get
so
many
of
them
that
they
make
it
work
and
they
finish
nearly
out
of
12
without.
B
A
B
Z
Z
A
B
And
that's
that's
what
they've
been
doing
all
summer
pretty
much
it's
it's!
It's
just
amazing,
to
see
young
players
be
able
to
coordinate
their
defense
so
that
if
one
play
goes
for
a
steal,
he's
covered
up
by
his
teammate.
If
he
doesn't
get
it
if
he
does
get
his
teammates
gone,
the
other
way
for
a
layup.
So
it's
that's
how
they
like
to
play
because
they
out,
like
you,
said
they
are
the
biggest
team.
We
just
notice
that
they're
one
of
the
big
guys
is
this
neat
implying.
So
it's
a
small
ball
and.
A
D
Won
by
Spartans,
head
coach,
Joe
Chapman
coach
about
five
minutes
to
go,
you
call
it
a
timeout,
you
hadn't
scored
in
a
while,
and
then
you
run
a
huge
run
to
end
the
half.
You
were
telling
your
team
that
they
weren't
working
hard
enough.
They
seemed
a
little
bit
intimidated.
What
was
the
difference
over
those
last
five
minutes
just.
AB
The
intensity
we
picked
it
up
defensively
and,
as
I
told
you
before,
we
like
to
play
fast,
whether
you
make
a
mistake
or
not.
If
we
can
make
the
other
team
play
at
our
space,
it
worked
for
us
and
as
that's
why
you
saw
the
11
old
run
or
whatever
it
was
because
we
just
made
them
play
faster
than
they
wanted
to
we
just
we
didn't.
We
didn't
make
easy
shots,
you
know.
So
when
we
got
steals,
we
were
able
to
get
layups
toward
the
latter
part
of
the
house.
You.
D
AB
Well,
those
two
guys
are
special
at
their
age
group.
I,
think
that
you
guys
saw
in
the
first
half
and
they're,
not
even
well
as
they're
capable
of
I'm
very
hard
on
them
because
they
can
handle
it
and
because
they're
good
players
once
they
pick
it
up.
You
see
Zion
Salmons
pick
it
up
and
it
take
they
kind
of
lead
the
team
you
know.
So,
when
they're
going
we're
going
coach
thanks.
A
Thanks
very
much
Seth
and
you
look
at
the
Spartans
and
coach
Chapman
is
talking
about
how
there
are
two
guards
are
really
the
ones
that
are
the
tone
setters
you
look
at
the
Panthers,
I'm,
still
not
sure
who's.
The
point
guard
on
this
team
and
I
think
that's,
maybe
something
they
gonna
think
well
coming
into.
B
The
game
the
Panthers
basically
had
had
a
successful
bmbl
season
with
their
size
and
and
their
shooting,
but
the
shoe
he's
been
disrupted
by
all
that,
although
you
know
just
the
way
the
game
has
been
but,
like
Joe,
said
the
pace
of
the
game.
It's
not
allowed.
The
Panthers
really
set
themselves
in
the
half-court
offense
and
just
get
the
shots.
They've
been
getting
all
summer.
So
and
that's
that's
why
neither
one
of
us
can
see
what
they're
trying
to
do.
That's
not
silly.
They
have
a
six
five
play
of
Mohammed.
B
He
hasn't
touched
the
ball
on
offense
once
and
mythic.
He
sat
a
lot
in
that
first
half
so
I
I
would
think
that
he
would
play
more
the
second
half
and
they
would
try
to
go
to
him
because
there's
no
one
defensively
that
they
can
really
defend
him
underneath
in,
like
I
said,
haven't,
had
the
ball
yet,
which
just
unusual
sure.

This

This
is
to
the
point:
it's
bad
in
a
hurry.
I
was
just
gonna
say
it's
really
hard
to
coach
right
now,
because
it's
as
much
about
effort
than
anything
else
and
some
of
the
Panthers
players,
unfortunately
they
playing
with
the
heads
down,
and
so
when
you
start
doing
that,
then
you're
always
going
to
be
a
step
behind
one.
A

if

When
it's
tough,
that,
during
during
a
game
as
a
player,
to
adjust
this
much
at
this
age,
in
your
mind,
mentally
understand,
okay,
I
can't
feel
the
ball
more
than
once,
I
gotta
either
shoot
or
pass
because
everything
is
getting
swiped
dad's
getting
enough.
My
way
from
behind
defenders
stepping
in
front
that's
the
entire
game.

There's
one
of
those
canes
we
might
be

don't
make
us

he

a
lot
of
Bucky,

a
bunch
of
the
players
for
the

have
all
played
well

both
ends,

of

to
grow?
They've
been
able
to
play
together
for
a
little
bit,
but
even
at
halftime,
you
said
they
weren't
playing
at
their
highest
capability.
Well,.
AB
As
I
said
before,
this
team
has
been
together
for
a
long
time.
We
know
how
to
come
back
sighs,
you
know
what
I
mean
and
we
were
missing.
One
of
our
big
guys
did
that
play
would
have
lost
someone.
They
did
a
great
job
of,
as
you
said,
speeding
them
up
in
terms
of
growth.
Everybody
can
get
better.
You
know
these
kids
do
a
good
job
of
working
on
their
games
and
making
sure
that
defensively
they're
always
locked
in
so
it
helped
me.
You
saw
that
today.
In
second.
D
Out
defense
isn't
always
something
that
the
players
focus
on,
especially
during
summer
ball,
but
you
helped
into
about
six
points
midway
through
the
second
half.
They
got
their
points
a
little
bit
late.
How
huge
is
it
to
have
that
much
of
a
defensive
effort
from
one
through
five
out
there
at
any
point,
it's.
AB
Contagious
right
like
if
you
know
two
guys,
are
playing
hard,
but
three
guys
are
kind
of
coasting.
The
defense
isn't
really,
as
you
know,
as
potent
as
it
can
be,
when
everybody
is
on
the
same
page
and
everybody's
playing
hard,
it's
contagious
and
it's
fun
to
play.
That
way.
That's
why
you
saw
so
many
deflections.
You
saw
at
one
point
their
point
guard
really
not
trying
to
advance
it
with
the
pass
he
tried
to
over
dribble
and
that
feeds
into
why
we
want
you
to
play.

B
See
Bennett
13
points,
Felder
are
outstanding,
play
with
nine
rebounds
Williams
had
five
or
two
with
three
and
I
think
the
the
seven
assists
the
cells
that
were
just
as
big
as
his
eight
steals.
Williams
also
had
two
assists
so
Spartans
pretty
much
spread
the
stats
across
their
entire
roster.
As
you
said,
everyone
contributes
somehow
whether
they
scored
they
rebounded,
but
the
Flex
Chin's
got
steals
in
it
all
ended
up
with
a
big
score
as.
