Description
We kick off our coverage of the 2017 Boston Public High School football season, with two playoff teams from a year ago, as the Cathedral Panthers visit the Latin Academy Dragons at White Stadium in Jamaica Plain.
B
Hello,
hello:
everybody
welcome
to
white
Stadium
in
Jamaica
Plain,
as
we
bring
you
week,
1
coverage
of
the
2017
Boston
public
high
school
football
season.
As
tonight
the
Cathedral
Panthers
take
on
the
Latin
Academy
dragons,
hello,
everybody,
I'm,
Pat
Flaherty,
gentlemen.
My
partner
is
always
Alan,
Platt
Alan
fantastic
time
of
the
year
week,
one
in
the
high
school
football
season.
We
get
to
start
it
off
here
at
white
sitting
with
two
playoff
teams.
From
a
year
ago,
the
Cathedral
Panthers
and
the
Latin
Academy
dragons.
This
should
be
a
fun
one
here
tonight
should.
C
Be
a
fun
one,
because
there
are
some
uncertainties
on
both
sides,
both
schools.
Both
teams,
clearly
lost
some
key
players
from
2:00
to
graduation,
as
happens
in
high
school
every
single
year,
but
big
chances
for
some
underclassmen
who
played
some
last
year.
Now
they
stepped
into
the
major
positions
and
I
think
that
it's
a
matter
of
both
coaches,
hoping
that
those
younger
players
can
actually
relax,
play
their
game
and
really.
B
C
The
Year
he
just
said
it
is
how
to
describe
it
and
for
us
it's
funny,
because
we've
known
Khalil
since
middle
school,
that's
right:
middle
school,
football,
middle
school,
basketball,
okay,
high
school
basketball
and
down
less
you
said
he
really
broke
on
the
scene
last
season,
as
a
junior
and
one
of
the
best
running
backs
our
all-purpose
backs
in
this
higher
state.
That's.
B
Right
he
had
31
total
touchdowns
in
over
2,000
all-purpose
yards
for
Cathedral
last
season.
He's
gonna
get
the
football
a
lot
for
the
Panthers
tonight.
Meanwhile,
on
the
other
side
of
the
football
you
have
the
Latin
Academy
dragons,
eight
and
three
overall
last
season
made
it
to
the
Division
four,
a
sectional
finals
and
actually
got
to
the
state
semifinals
before
they
were
blanks
by
Millis,
but
another
very
good
season
for
a
very
consistent
program.
The
Latin
Academy
dress,
oh
yeah,
they're,
very
good.
C
And
but
the
key
thing
for
their
coaching
staff
is
Dave
lost
a
quarterback
who
was
their
starting
quarterback
for
three
seasons,
seeing
and
that's
always
a
little
sketchy
when
you,
when
you
put
in
a
newer
player
in
again
and
young
player,
but
like
coach,
he
has
a
lot
of
confidence
in
his
team
and
he's
not
as
concerned
only
because
he
has
a
lot
of
starters
from
defense
coming
back
so
for
the
most
part,
coaches
think.
Well,
if
the
defense
can
hold
us
in
the
game,
we
can
create
some
kind
of.
B
D
C
I
was
clear
that,
after
that
playoff
game,
he
was
gonna,
be
one
of
the
key
guys
for
this
season
and
again
when
you're
young
yeah.
If
you
have
seniors
ahead
of
you,
you
have
to
wait
your
turn.
Hopefully
you
practice
how
I
keep
yourself
ready,
as
you
can
see,
good
speed,
good
shift
in
this,
so
he'll
again,
he'll
be
strong.
The
counter,
if
you
can
say
that's
Blair
when
Cathedral.
B
And
I'll
question
is
Devon
Harris
James,
with
four
catches
for
58
yards
and
two
receiving
touchdowns
last
year
in
the
playoff
game
versus
O'bryant,
so
just
a
very
good
weapon,
especially
over
the
middle
for
a
team
like
Latin
Academy.
So
we'll
take
a
look
at
him
tonight
and
see
if
he
can
help
out
that
young
quarterback
for
more
on
this
game.
Folks,
we're
now
gonna
go
down
to
our
sideline
reporter
Channing
Curtis
who's
got
an
update
for
us
Channing.
What
do
you
have.
E
With
it
being
week,
one
this
is
the
coaches
time
to
really
get
a
chance
to
see
what
their
teams
are
made
of.
Now,
both
Latin
Academy
and
Cathedral
come
into
tonight's
matchup
after
losing
a
ton
of
key
players
last
season,
so
adjustments
have
been
key.
I
got
a
chance
to
speak
with
Cathedral
head
coach,
Paul
Silva,
loose
key
before
the
game,
and
he
told
me
that
he
spent
a
lot
of
time
getting
players
adjusted
to
his
often
sophisticated
spread
office.
So
it
looks
like
tonight
we'll
get
to
see
the
future
of
these
two
programs.
B
C
You
said,
experience
means
nervousness,
means
a
lot
of
adrenalin
sure,
butterflies
right
right.
You
just
never
know
what
those
what
those
first
series
on
the
offense
will
look
like.
What
are
you
gonna?
Stop
the
season
sometime,
so
these
kids
have
been
practicing
for
about
weeks.
For
the
most
part,
they
really
want
to
get
some
real
competition
without.
I
J
M
Z
AB
AB
B
Guys
welcome
back
to
white
Stadium
we
are
set
to
go
here,
is
Latin
Academy
kicking
off
to
Cathedral,
and
the
cathedral.
Panthers
have
a
tough
time
hanging
onto
the
football
now
they
feel
that
the
22
yard
line
and
John
Smith
the
freshman
makes
his
way
up
to
the
31,
make
that
the
32
yard
line
Thanks.
So.
C
AD
C
Was
interesting
for
the
coin
toss
Pat
Latin
Academy
actually
won
the
toss,
but
the
deferred
which
normally,
when
there's
a
bunch
of
player
is,
do
you
see
a
fake
hand
off
then
Blair
comes
back
to
the
middle.
Usually
when
there's
a
player
likely
on
the
opposing
offense,
you
don't
necessarily
want
to
give
them
the
ball
first,
but,
like
I,
said
the
open
visa
at
Latin.
Academy
is
far
more
confident
with
his
defense
on
the
field,
so
just
give
his
offensive
chance
to.
You
know,
get
themselves
together,
while
the
first
series
goes
on.
B
C
B
C
C
C
B
B
C
Like
you
said
Pat,
both
both
these
running
backs
can
run
inside
the
key
with
Khalil.
If
he
doesn't
have
any
kind
of
contact
at
the
line
of
scrimmage
gets
any
kind
of
space
nice.
As
you
mentioned,
that
acceleration
watch
this
watch
to
see
what
he
gets
doesn't
get
touched
so
that
little
sprint
right.
There
gets
him
to
yata
Chien
each
and
then
he'll
finish
off
going
strong.
B
AE
C
Offsetting
penalties
facemask
on
Latin
Academy
and
an
illegal
pick
on
Cathedral
I.
Just
do
it
over
again
the
first
game
and
the
best
thing
about
the
first
answer
is,
for
the
most
part,
your
team
is
healthy
coaches.
The
concerns
I
mean
unless
you
had
some
weird
thing
happened
during
the
captains
practice
or
they
you
have
a
buck
a
week,
maybe
ten
days
you
can
actually
get
together
officially
in
practice,
but
nothing
really
heavy.
Until
this
dish
first
open
the
night
and.
C
K
C
C
K
C
Again,
you
want
to
be
sure
on
these
third
down
place,
because
actually
cathedrals
in
Latin
Academy
territory
might
be
for
they
on
territory.
For
them
it
just
so
one
of
those
things
where
you
want
to
make
sure
you
get
something
on
this
down,
then
you
can
make
the
choice.
If
you
want
to
go
for
the
fourth
down,
if
you,
if
you
don't
make
the
first
Cathedral
interested,
they
they've
gone
through
some
periods
of
having
the
last
cassettes.
What
both
about
four
years
ago,
they
meet
there'd,
be
the
Madison
Park
in
a
Super
Bowl
game
down.
C
C
B
B
C
B
C
Like
Butler
had
that
one
scouted
perfectly,
because
the
freshman
came
across
and
mostly
watch
upcoming
motion,
the
freshman
out
coming
across
fake
to
the
freshman
and
Blair.
This
is
normally
she
that
motion
cathedrals,
hoping
is
going
to
give
a
gap
for
Blair,
but
that
was
snuffed
all
easily
so
fourth
down
they
have
okay,
so
four
down
Sarah
that
they
have
here
they
kick
there.
Also,
though,.
B
C
B
C
B
AF
B
C
B
C
C
C
Too
many
guys
in
the
field,
not
enough
guys
excited
you
saw
I
forget
you
know
the
you're
certain
guys
are
in
different
formations
during
look
like
you
said
I
couldn't
during
the
course
this
season
is
gonna,
be
automatic,
but
first
time
out
excitement
the
nervousness
is
small
things.
Coaches
expects
to
see
that
kind
of
stuff
total
spread.
Offense
three
receivers
down
here
to
the
left.
B
C
B
C
B
B
C
B
We
dock
poorest
had
a
really
good
first
quarter
here
to
the
defensive
end
spot
for
Latin,
Academy
I,
believe
that's
his
second
or
even
third
sack
here
in
the
first
quarter.
Now
we're
under
a
minute
to
go
here
in
the
first
quarter,
Cathedral
ready
to
punt
the
football
as
they
are
at
the
their
own
36
yard
line.
B
C
B
He
didn't
even
start
as
the
JV
quarterback
last
year,
but
really
has
played
well
in
camp,
beat
out
two
other
players
for
the
starting
job
and
coach
ziza
likes
what
he
sees
out
of
xavier
now
on
first
down,
they
throw
it
over
to
Fitzgerald,
but
he
has
nowhere
to
go
as
he
picks
up.
I
think
he
just
got
it
back
to
the
line
of
scrimmage
on
that
boy.
Now.
C
B
AF
B
E
One
of
the
big
things
coming
into
tonight's
game
that
was
troubling
the
Latin
Academy
dragons
was
their
offensive
line.
They
lost
four
out
of
five
of
their
players
last
year,
so
coming
into
tonight's
game,
they
have
almost
an
entire
new
line.
Now
coach
Rocco's
ISA
was
working
with
his
line
up
until
right
before
the
game
even
started.
They're
making
adjustments
on
the
fly,
they're
doing
a
lot
of
new
short
passes
and
a
lot
of
new
running
place.
Instead
of
doing
the
long
passes
that
they
have
planned
on
doing
back
to
you
guys.
C
B
B
C
AE
C
C
C
C
B
C
M
C
B
C
Another
part
exactly
than
not
these
are:
these
are
their
first
minutes
of
playing
varsity
and
good
effort,
break
nd
defensive
fronts
for
both
teams
that
sort
of
control
this
first
quarter
and
the
few
minutes
here
in
the
second
quarter,
defensive
backfield
those
interference,
calls
or
kept
Lawton
Academy's
offense.
Going
now.
AD
B
C
C
B
B
B
C
C
B
That's
funny
a
middle
school
Khalil.
You
often
see
this
too
in
the
younger
age
is
the
best
athlete
is
often
the
quarterback.
Well,
yes,
definitely
no,
no
matter
if
they
can
throw
or
not.
Khalil
was
the
starting
quarterback
for
Timothy
high
school
back
in
2013
when
they
won
the
middle
school
champion
champion
four
rushing
touchdowns
over
130
yards,
and
you
could
just
see
the
touch.
B
Become
so
first
in
ten
now
for
Cathedral
at
their
own
eight
yard
line
with
just
over
eight
minutes
left
to
go
in
the
second
quarter.
They
fake
the
handoff,
and
now
it's
Mejia
on
the
quarterback
keeper
plowing
forward
me
he's,
got
pretty
good
size.
Yeah
he's
trying
to
safe
play.
It's
gonna
be
about
a
four
or
five
yard
pickup
to
the
fumble,
the
football
somebody
stole.
C
B
C
That's
the
hint
you
know,
Cathedral
sidelines
like
we
called
that
because
it's
supposed
to
be
a
safe
play
and
you
lose
the
ball.
I
mean
he
was
fighting
for
yardage,
but
the
same
time
tuck
that
ball
and
squeeze
it
especially
good
that
both
teams
have
been
gang
tackling
and
it's
a
lot
of
energy.
These
first
games
of
the
season,
Latin.
C
C
B
B
C
A
quarterback
that
doesn't
have
a
say
it,
but
what
I
like
about
the
sideline
for
Latin
Academy,
they're,
still
congratulating
the
player
who
made
the
fumble
recovery
Terrence
Butler
he
that
that's
because
they
they
realize.
Okay,
we
capitalized
just
like
you,
said
on
the
turtle,
but
it
was
a
forced
turnover
because
then
we
stole
the
ball
from
the
quarterback.
B
C
About
speed,
we
talked
about
Blair
with
his
speed,
but
because
it
was
the
he
was
two
up
one
of
the
up
backs
in
the
formation
once
he
broke.
That
first
line
and
his
senior
team
made
Chris
Carmona
gave
him
bud
up
right
about
the
30-yard
line.
Now
watch
I
borrow
your
screen,
you're
gonna!
You
should
see
the
final.
This
right
here
is
the
final
player
for
Cathedral
Cedric
Johnson,
who
looked
like
he
had
a
chance
to
possibly
catch
him
just
get
wiped
out.
Now
it's
a
legal
block
just
like
that
tie
game.
C
Then
the
opposing
team
comes
right,
back,
doesn't
take
long
and
it's
interested
because
last
year,
like
we
talked
on
the
open
about
how
both
these
chains
made
the
again,
it's
like
I
said
once
he
hit
past.
That
first
line,
that
was
it
Tom
Mona's
block
just
made
sure
that
he
wouldn't
get
caught
like
I
was
saying
both
both
these
teams
scored
a
lot
of
points
last
season,
so
I
think
on
for
the
for
the
guys
who
were
on
last
year's
team.
C
They
started
waiting
for
things
to
start
to
kick
in,
but
it's
gonna
take
some
time
because
laugther
be
skilled
players,
for
both
teams
have
moved
on
and,
like
you
mentioned,
the
the
main
linemen
are
on
both
sides.
The
ball
for
Latin
Academy
is
graduated,
so
it's
not
automatic
these
things
that
you
gotta
learn
how
to
work
together.
Offensive
line
plays
is
special,
especially
in
high
school.
C
B
C
B
C
I
got
the
quarterback
in
there
as
the
lead
blocker,
not
going
anywhere
because
he
drew
just
Cathedral
thing.
Is
there
their
key
Tom
Bradley
matter
what
wherever
he
goes?
She's
gonna
have
a
shadow,
so
you
gotta
use
some
kind
of
trickery:
fake,
handoff,
pitch
green
pass.
Something
like
that
to
get
him
some
some
open
field.
B
AA
C
What
they
are
I
would
think
so
because
you,
like
you,
said
you're
putting
in
some
plays,
and
sometimes
even
though
number
these
underclassmen
would
have
been
may
have
it
on
last
year's
team.
If
they
didn't
play
much,
it's
totally
different.
You
can
watch
you
can
practice.
You
can
see
what
you're
supposed
to
do,
but
until
you're
out
there
trying
to
do
it
very
different.
AG
B
B
C
C
C
C
J
B
C
C
B
C
C
C
C
The
way
these
plays
are
being
designed-
this
is
a
fakes
go
naked
by
receiver
screen,
but
seeing
the
Catholic
League
I
really
think
that
those
plays
against
some
of
the
weaker
teams
are
gonna
work,
even
though
there's
no
blocking
out
there,
because
Billy
is
just
such
a
good
athlete,
but
as
Cathedral
plays
some
of
the
city,
team's
defenses
are
a
little
more
sophisticated.
Fourth.
B
So
the
Dragons
once
again
with
pretty
good
field
position
just
over
two
minutes
left
to
go
before
half-time.
Folks,
if
you
want
to
follow
us
on
social
media,
can
certainly
search
first
on
Facebook,
just
search
for
a
game
of
the
week
in
Facebook
here
in
Boston.
A
lot
of
good
pictures,
videos
a
lot
of
great
stuff
up
there.
AD
C
Foggers
incomplete
that's
one
of
the.
Only
two
off
target
passes.
We've
seen
he's
overthrown
a
few
passes,
but
that
wasn't
a
totally
off
target.
He
just
didn't
and
he
had
no
pressure
for
once.
He
had
time
to
set
himself
and
zipped
it
down
in
the
middle
she's,
lucky
that
the
freshman
Smith
actually
didn't
catch
up
to
it.
Smith
was
more
cat

I

we

about

but
the
fact
that
they
have
a
lot
of
seniors
they
do
do.
We
have
a
lot
of
seniors,
so
I
think
that
Coach

is
hoping
that
as
seniors
they
can
combine.
Okay,
you

again
and
I

cathedrals

Let
this
clock
go
down
and
that
is
going
to
do
it
for
the
first
half
here
at
white

as
the
Cathedral
Panthers
and
Latin
Academy
dragons
are
tie
it
up
here
at
6,
apiece,
very
good,
first
half
especially
defensively
for
both
these
teams,
and
we
saw
both
these
squads
really
tighten
up
when
things
got
close
to
the
end
zone.
But
there
were
also.
C
Some
exciting
offensive
plays
immediately
for
all
the
action
we
had
on.
Both
sides
of
the
ball
to
hit
have
only
66
games
was
pretty
amazing
but
again
first
end
of
the
season
I'm
telling
this
is
when
the
coaches
really
wish
that
halftime
was
twice
as
long.
You
got
a
lot
to
explain.
They
got
a
lot
to
talk
about
on
both
sides,
with
penalties
for
Cathedral
you
internet
real
killers
and
for
Latin

Some
of
the
anxiety
of
trying
get
the
ball
downfield
that
lasts
over
hives.

I

I
thinking
he
probably
feels
that
way
because,
like
you
said
they
blew
their
opportunity
for
to
have
a
lead
at
halftime,
but
I
think
he's
happy
with
his
defense
because
he
assumes
because
a
lot
of
those
guys
are
coming
back
from
last
season
and
in
fact
it
turned
out
that
way.
Defense
played
well
and
the
quarterback
for
to
be
a
first-time
starter,
throwing
the
ball
well
and,
like
you
said,
if
the
receivers
can
catch
the
ball,
okay,
he'll
be
in
good
shape.
Yeah.

there's
a

for

So
it's
not
that
difficult
to
just
least
set
up
to
defend.
We
just
have
to
make
sure
that
you
know
which
would
air
you
responsible
for,
and
they
have
some
young

in

The
sound
of
the

that
was
a
capitalizing
on
the
on
a
really
risky
play,
watch
the
touch,
those
dishes.
The
extra
point,
two
point:
conversion
fry
Hernandez,
wrapping
up
the
quarterback,
so
the
score
phase
of
12
six
yeah.
That
was
a
head
scratch
of
the
affair.
You
won
with
you
I'm
with
you
on
that
inside.
B
B
C
Gotta,
fake
dragons,
but
hover
in
this
game
right
now,
yeah,
but
only
that
lets
me
know,
but
you
said
Cleo
Blair
has
been
under
wraps
the
entire
game.
Here
we
are
wrap,
wrap
up
the
third
quarter.
He
hasn't
had
any
opportunity
to
it
for
any
kind
of
free
or
open
space.
So
a
kickoff
is
one
of
the
few
chances
we
might
get
to
have
some
awesome
open
fields.
Now
that
he's
playing
up
he's,
1
2
up
backs
to
where
the
ball
might
go
around
the
30-yard
line.

Yeah
I
think
what
we're
gonna
see
just
straight
handoff
for
the
follow-up
he
faked
by
Blair.
He
didn't
trying
to
make
something
out
of
nothing
like
it's
the
corner
there
and
did
getting
yard
I.
Think
we're
gonna,
see
that
same
play
with
the
fake
to

and
allow
blitz
and
try
to
go
the
opposite

they

it's

again
with
another
nice
cut,
makes
its
way
up
to
the
39
yard
line
and
that'll
do
it
for
the
third
quarter
here
at
white
Stadium,
we're
still
tied
up
this
time
at
12,
apiece
Latin
Academy
in
Cathedral,
but
Cathedral
is
knocking
on
the
doorstep
after
the
turnover
we're
gonna
head
to
break.
When
we
come
back,
we
will
have
the
fourth
quarter
here
on
game
of
the
week
right
after
these
words.
B
E
One
of
the
main
things
that's
been
plaguing
the
offense
for
Latin
Academy
has
been
penalties,
especially
having
too
many
minute
on
the
field.
One
of
the
reasons
for
that
is
they're
having
to
do
a
lot
of
substitutions,
given
the
fact
that
a
lot
of
these
guys
are
new-
and
this
is
some
of
their,
some
of
them
is
their
first
varsity
game
back
to
you
guys,
thanks.
B
C
C
We
talked
about
an
individual
play,
looked
like,
he
was
gonna,
be
trapped
on
the
sidelines
from
all
headon
and
we
always
talk
about
the
speeds.
Hey.
We
always
talk
about
defenders
coming
in
under
control
that
time.
It's
a
perfect
example
of
what
happens
see
they
come
under.
Control
took
the
wrong
angles.
He
didn't
just
walk
through
two
arm
tackles
and
lay
there's
the
speed
you
talk
about
that
because
they
only
had
an
angle
on
him
there
than
the
free
safety
just
one
on
one
cut
back
in
cathedrals.
C
L
C
It
all
started
with
the
interception
by
Blair
and
ended
up
with
that
big
run
by
heating
I
mean
from
Latin
Academy
side
did
your
passing
offense
has
been
effective.
Is
that
there
may
have
to
be
a
little
more
patient,
not
try
to
get
it
all
back
at
once,
because
we
have
seen
a
few
of
the
long
passes.
Go,
go
a
little
overthrown.
B
C
C
AX
C
C
C
C
C
Tackle
it
was
there
was
a
gentle
contact,
but
I'd
say
that
for
a
first-time
quarterback,
this
is
he's
he's
gonna
put
it
in
the
air,
give
his
Jerell
a
chance
to
run
under
it,
there's
a
good
job
by
justing,
but
the
defender.
Then
they
has
just
as
much
right
to
it.
So
great
did
a
good
job
to
lean
him
off
of
that
play
shield
him
make
a

No,
no,
no,
no,
they
have
blitzed
at
quarterback
saw
blitz
coming
so
he
knew
I.
Guess
he
a
fit.
He
figured
that
the
Carroll
wasn't
gonna
work
for
the
tight
end,
because
what
they
did
that
the
wide
receiver
went
in
motion
to
give
to
Jarrell
this
entire
side.
Here
business
is
sort
of
becoming
it's
like
a
chess
match
here,
because
the
defensive
formations
are
matching
whatever
the
dragons
are
doing,
aren't
on

and
now
they're
back

C
Yeah
I
was
thinking
to
me.
We,
the
changing

happens
after
Latin

scored
their
second

I.
Can't
imagine
that
the
quarterback
here
that
fourth
down
pass
on
his
own
but
I
mean
I,
think
it
was
gonna,
be
eventual.
Did
that
play
would
just
have
his
hand
on
the
ball
and
replay
to.
B
B
C
B
C
C
Gone,
it's
gonna
be
tough
for
him
to
get
anything
from
the
quarterbacks
apart
because
they
like
I,
said
they're
gonna
have
to
have
a
spy
on
him.
The
whole
game,
thanks
to
handoff,
to
heed
and
there's
just
nothing
there
I
think
actually
I

to

there's
Blair
on

and
they
think
they're
gonna
watch
him.
They
know
he's
the
show
the
big

for

So
wherever
he
goes,
they're
gonna
they're
gonna

sort
of
thrust
into.
C
Situation
it'll
take,
it
might
take
a
few
games.
I
mean
they'll
be
upset
with
this
loss.
Obviously,
the
Latin
Academy
kids
they're
gonna
practice
harder,
they're
gonna
attention
to
detail.
Like
you
said,
the
the
numerous
swarm
a
Thunder
feel
that
that's
that's
more
of
a
studying
mental
type
of
a
mistake,
but
I
do
think
they
can
think
about
the
city
and
the
fact
that
all
the
teams
in
the
city
obviously
lost
the
seniors
last
year.
B
B
C
After
that
and
I
remember,
he
made
shoot
shoot
back-to-back
plays.
He
made
the
interception
to
set
up
the
touchdown
right.
Then
a
51-yard
jaunt
on
an
amazing
run.
He
looked
like
he
was
balled
up
a
20
yard
line
somehow
slid
out
into
sprinting
to
the
end
zone
and
you're
right.
It
he's
expected
clear
expected
to
have
a
really
big
season.
His.
AK
C
Expects
him
to
score
whenever
they're
down
or
make
a
difference
if
even
a
close
game
or
a
tie,
game,
coaches
and
Cathedral
players
all
expect
him
to
make
a
play
tonight.
He
did
make
a
couple
of
plays
and
then
the
head-
and
as
you
mentioned,
that's
B
he's
he
was
using
overly
impressive.
Getting
a
touchdown
run
on
the
kickoff
hit.
The
39
yard
touchdown
run
that
in
the
fourth
quarter,
so
but
that's
sort
of
one-two
punch
out
of
the
backfield
for
cathedrals
when
they
can
be
deadly
for
the
season
without.
B
Question
they're
gonna
be
fun
to
watch
throughout,
as
the
season
rolls
on.
We
kind
of
knew
those
guys
and
a
lot
of
talent
a
lot
of
speed
coming
in
and
they
showed
it
here
today
and
you
want
for
the
Latin
Academy.
You
got
to
be
pretty
impressed
with
Xavier
Ortiz.
He
did
throw
a
couple
of
picks,
but
he
seems
a
lot
more
comfortable
than
he
should
for
a
guy
who's
never
started.
C
Our
varsity
first
time
and
he
he
took
some
Blum's,
but
he
did
have
some
nice
passes
cut
and
the
first
time
actually
is.
His
receivers.
Didn't
always
help
him
out
by
catching
the
balls.
But
you
can
tell
he's
confident
and
he
listens
to
the
coaches
and
I-
think
that
he'll
learn
from
this
game.
A
couple
of
passes.
He
that
he
sort
of
tried
to
force
like
the
interception
that
the
near
the
end
of
the
half
put
a
little
touch
on
that
and
then
Wynn
has
a
chance
to
really
pull
it
in
pretty
easily.
B
C
Right
right,
so
that
that
makes
a
big
difference,
but
that's
how
football
goes
and
I
think
Cathedral
did
a
good
job,
whatever
they
adjusted
on
their
defense
made
a
difference
because
they
really
did
start
to
pressure
or
teased
and
even
when
they
didn't
press
room,
they
covered
his
receivers
very
well.
So
he
was
forced
to
really
you
know,
sort
of
force.
Some
passes,
Latin.
B
Academy
is
gonna
drop
Owen
one
Cathedral
one
in
oh,
and
certainly
both
these
teams
have
a
lot
to
work
on,
but
could
probably
also
be
proud
of
a
lot
of
the
things
they
did
on
the
football
field
here
in
week.
One
here
tonight
folks
we're
gonna
head
to
break
when
we
come
back
we'll
have
our
game
of
the
week.

final

this
game
make
sure
you
stick
around.

B
Welcome
back
to
white
Stadium
in
Jamaica
Plain
at
the
conclusion
of
game
of
the
week,
the
cathedral
Panthers
took
down
the
Latin
Academy
dragons
28
to
12
here
in
week,
1
of
the
boston
public
high
school
football
season,
Cathedral
and
a
couple
of
guys
who
really
turned
it
on
there
in
the
second
half.
But
as
we
mentioned
before,
Allen,
what's
Khalil
Blair
ripped
off
that
51
yard
touchdown,
that's
everything.
C
E
BA
E
BA
Like
when,
in
the
beginning
it
was
kind
of
like
tough,
but
they
was
all
putting
their
head
down
because
we
come
in
making
mistakes,
but
we
have
leaders
on
the
team,
not
just
me,
but
like
Jose
come
on
Randy.
They
they
push
them
to
be
better
players
just
like
me
and
if
it
wasn't
for
them
I,
wouldn't
we
all
were
all
a
brotherhood.
So
it's
like
they
listen
to
us
because
we're
older.
E
E
Right
sounds
like
a
good
goal
to
me.
Congratulations
again
on
a
great
game
tonight.
Thank
you
all
right
now,
coach
now,
once
again,
Khalil
Blair
outstanding
played
tonight,
and
we
talked
a
little
bit
before
the
game
about
your
sophisticated
offense.
How
have
you
are
you
going
to
rely
on
him
for
the
remainder
of
this
season?
Khalil.
AJ
Is
a
multifaceted
he's?
Gonna
play
some
quarterback
some
running
back
some
slot
receiver.
It
Latin
Academy
did
a
good
job
taking
him
away.
When
we
had
him
out
at
receiver,
they
would
double-team
in
him
and
we
just
felt
like.
Let's
make
that
change
in
the
second
half
and
put
him
at
quarterback
and
let
the
offense
run
through
him
he's
so
experienced.
Last
year
we
had
a
game
where
I
quarterback
got
hurt.
Khalil
went
in
and
had
six
touchdowns
from
the
quarterback
position,
so
we
knew
that
he
has
the
experience
there.
E
AJ
Could
see
right
from
the
get-go
that
Latin
Academy
was
gonna,
take
him
out
of
the
game
if
he
was
at
receiver.
So
for
us,
our
office
has
to
go
through
him,
so
we'll
where
he
plays,
will
be
dictated
on
how
the
defenses
try
to
stop
him,
and
if
teams
are
gonna
consistently,
do
that
and
he's
he's
gonna
go
to
quarterback
and
we'll
put
him
out
then
he's
somewhere
else
because
he's
a
good
player
all.
E
B
C
C
That's
when
some
of
the
younger
players
at
the
keel
mentioned
probably
put
their
heads
down
and
sure
at
that
point,
you're
not
really
listening,
because
you're
angry
at
yourself
or
your
teammate
who's
supposed
to
help
you
out
and
that's
part
of
being
young,
but
looking
at
the
roster
Cathedral
has
a
number
of
seniors
and
I
think
enough
seniors
who
are
in
the
skill
positions
that
they
can
take
the
lead
in
any
situation.
Some
Latin
Academy,
even
though
Latin
cami
had
a
tough
time
in
the
second
half
tonight.
They
too
have
a
lot
of
seniors.
C
B
N
C
Because
of
what
kind
of
player
everybody
knows
he
is,
I
was
definitely
gonna
be
had
just
like
the
coach
mentioned
that
one
game
they
put
him
in
quarterback.
He
scored
six
touchdowns
and
that's
why
I
was
saying
about
the
confidence
that
they
are
in
usually
they're
a
couple
of
top
teams
up
a
top.
You
know
a
little
bit
of
a
middle
than
they're
a
couple
of
week
or
teams,
those
weaker
teams
that
when
you,
when
you
really
build
your
stats
up,
so
he
you're
right.
C
He
may
not
have
exactly
what
he
had
last
year,
even
close
to
it,
but
he's
still
the
key
player
yeah,
because
the
for
the
entire
first
half
Latin
Academy
did
a
really
good
job.
Double-Teaming
him.
He
he
got
no
opportunities
for
in
any
kind
of
big
runs.
Second
half
just
like
the
coach
said,
as
they
run
their
offense
through
him.
By
putting
him
at
quarterback,
then
just
one
simple,
fake,
handoff
and
go
the
opposite
direction.
That's
how
I
got
the
51
yard
touchdown!
That's.
B
AH
B
M
B
C
So
that's
you
know.
This
was
a
good
way
to
prepare
for
some
of
the
top
backs
in
the
city,
all
right,
so
I
think
they
coach,
Cesar
can
look
at
this
a
couple
of
different
ways
and
from
his
standpoint,
more
than
anything
else,
he
just
wants
his
young
players
who
are
being
thrust
into
styling
positions,
to
start
to
feel
more
comfortable
and
play
his
system,
because
he's
been
around
enough
to
know
that
his
system
works.
He
just
wants
to
have
the
players
in
them
in
the
right
position.
B
C
Latin
Academy
is
the
Eduard's.
Is
it
boozy
up
there
and
not
not
much
running
at
all,
but
they
did
do
a
good
job
passing
the
ball.
As
you
see,
receiving
win
was
in
the
slot
most
of
the
night
five
catches
for
a
three
yeah.
He
had
a
touchdown
Fitzpatrick,
also
five
catches,
only
41
yards
low.
Surprisingly,
every
time
they
went
deep,
downfield
to
him.
There
was
pretty
much
knocked
away,
but
he
also
had
a
touchdown
and
Ortiz.
Like
you
mentioned,
he'll
get
comfortable
11th
with
the
2652
years.
C
C
C
He
also
had
a
touchdown
Hernandez
caught
one
pass
that
that
was
a
360
honor
that
Blair
through
to
him
for
the
touchdown
and
then
of
course,
Blair
mm
just
caught
one
screen
pass
but
was
thrown
for
a
loss
Kaleo
the
only
catch
but
past
that
he
completed
was
for
that
one
touchdown
and
then
Mejia,
two
for
five
I
didn't
do
much,
because
most
of
his
passes
were
short
passes.
They're
trying
does
those
wide
receiver
screens
you
get
Academy.
D
AL
C
That
again,
those
the
adjustment
you
have
to
make
you
in
the
course
of
a
game,
even
though
it's
the
first
game
this
season,
there's
a
whole
lot
going
on.
Kids
are
excited
forgetting
things,
but
Cathedral
just
did
a
better
job
of
adjusting
to
the
defense
that
Latin
Academy
was
playing
and
then
their
own
defense
cathedrals
did
a
better
job
in
the
second
half,
because
they
they
really
bottled
up
Latin
Academy.
