From YouTube: Flat 9 at Whittier Phase III Groundbreaking
Description
Mayor Wu joins with Congresswoman Pressley to celebrate the groundbreaking of the third and final phase of construction for Flat 9 at Whittier in Roxbury. This transformation of the Whittier Public Housing development will replace and preserve 200 public housing rental units, and create an additional 309 new units of mixed-income rental housing.
A
Good
morning
my
name
is
Kate
Bennett
I
am
the
administrator
and
CEO
of
the
Boston
Housing
Authority,
and
it
is
my
honest
privilege
to
welcome
you
all
to
Flat
nine
at
Whittier
today
before
I
introduce
the
mayor.
I
just
want
to
spend
the
30
seconds,
or
so
that
I
have
at
the
mic
to
say
a
heartfelt
thanks
to
all
of
the
partners
that
have
been
working
beside
BHA
for
so
long
on
this
project.
More
than
a
decade
our
city
Partners.
A
There
are
so
many
City
colleagues
that
have
put
dollars
and
sweat
into
this
beautiful
new
development,
POA
and
Madison
Park
Development
Corporation
are
wonderful
development
partners
HUD
with
the
choice,
Grant
award
and
further
support.
The
entire
Hub
team
is
here
today
and
a
special
shout
out
to
Adrian
Todman
for
gracing
us
with
her
presence.
Today
we're
really
pleased
you
could
be
here:
dhcd
Mass
housing,
BHA
staff
residents,
funders.
A
All
of
you
have
helped
to
realize
this
dream
of
not
only
incredibly
beautiful
housing
that
surrounds
us
today,
but
also
a
revitalized
ruggle
street,
a
new
park
and
playground
down
the
street.
The
thriving
DeWitt
Center
stronger
businesses
in
Nubian
Square,
two
Flagship
public
art
installations-
that
will
happen
nearby
now
that
this
is
getting
built.
So
this
project
has
been
truly
transfer
transformational,
not
only
within
the
borders
of
this
site,
but
throughout
the
entire
neighborhood
and
I'm.
Just
so
grateful
for
that
partnership.
A
For
those
of
you
that
are
tuned
in
to
the
city
budget
process,
the
proposed
budget
that
she
unveiled
yesterday
includes
72
million
dollars
in
new
Public
Funding
for
our
site.
She
has
shown
up
in
every
way
for
BHA
communities
so
that
all
of
our
sites
can
have
as
bright
a
future
as
this
site
that
we're
celebrating
today,
please
a
warm
welcome
for
mayor
Michelle,
Wood.
B
Good
morning,
everyone
it
is
a
beautiful
morning
and
I'm
so
thrilled
to
be
in
my
summer,
clothes
with
you
all
celebrating
the
sunshine
and
the
brightness
that
this
community
brings
to
us
and
that
our
Partnerships
across
the
city,
state
and
federal
level
have
been
able
to
deliver.
We
are
so
thrilled
for
what
is
going
to
come
next
and
I
want
to
first
start
by
thanking
Kate
Bennett.
Try
to
do
it
without
crying,
hey.
B
B
B
And
thank
you
to
all
who
are
working
on
housing
at
the
city
of
Boston,
supporting
Kate
and
the
BHA
team.
Sheila
Dillon,
our
chief
of
housing
for
the
city
making
such
waves
in
Boston's
National
example,
Jesse,
boat
ride
and
everyone
at
the
the
office
of
housing.
Thank
you
also
congresswoman
Ayanna
Presley,
who
made
today's
announcement
possible
deputy
secretary
Adrian
Todman
from
the
Department
of
Housing
and
Urban
Development
Juana
Matias,
our
very
own
New,
England,
regional
administrator.
B
Under
secretary
Jennifer
Maddox,
we've
had
to
have
some
very
exciting
announcements
and
ribbon
cuttings
already,
and
thank
you
for
all
your
leadership
and
our
friends
in
the
private
and
non-profit
sectors.
Roger
Brown
managing
director
at
POA,
Crystal,
cornigay,
executive,
director
of
Mass
housing,
Mary,
Thompson
Senior,
vice
president
of
Bank
of
America
and,
most
importantly,
we
are
going
to
hear
in
a
little
bit
from
Miss
dauman,
a
resident
of
flat
9..
Thank
you
for
representing
all
of
the
the
leaders
who
who
are
our
residents.
Here.
We
are
at
the
Final
Phase
of
this
development.
A
B
You
heard
all
celebrating
roxbury's
Rich
history
this
summer,
we'll
be
releasing
a
call
for
artists
to
design
a
long-term
public
art
piece
right
here
at
flat,
9.
and
once
the
Redevelopment
is
complete.
The
Whittier
Community
will
have
a
one
for
one
replacement
of
the
former
Apartments
172
mixed
income,
housing
units,
low
and
moderate
income
to
market
rate,
in
addition
to
exciting
new
commercial
spaces
for
small
businesses.
That
will
make
this
area
a
convenient
and
vibrant
hub
for
all
of
our
residents
and
the
surrounding
community.
B
At
a
time
when
housing
is
a
top
priority
in
our
city
and
around
the
country.
We
are
so
grateful
to
be
putting
the
final
touches
on
this
example
of
what's
possible
when
we
partner
across
sectors
and
levels
of
government,
when
we
have
Champions
at
the
federal
level
delivering
the
funds
to
make
this
possible.
When
we
have
Partners
at
the
state
level.
B
Thinking
about
Boston
or
urban
communities
as
absolutely
essential
in
making
sure
that
our
housing
is
not
only
creating
new,
affordable
housing
but
updating
and
maintaining
the
housing
that
we
already
have,
and
with
Partners
at
the
city
level
and
city
council
and
throughout
the
administration.
Who
will
always
prioritize
people?
First,
authorization.
C
C
C
B
My
most
important
job
here
today
is
to
welcome
and
thank
the
champion,
who
always
has
Massachusetts
7th
on
her
heart,
but,
most
importantly,
is
fighting
not
only
for
the
policies,
but
also
the
resources
to
make
sure
that
our
residents
are
thriving.
Proud
To
Hand,
the
mic
over
to
our
congresswoman
Ayanna
Presley.
D
Good
morning,
truly
it
is
a
beautiful
day
in
the
neighborhood
Madam
mayor
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment.
You
were
talking
about
things
that
you
are
coming
to
terms
with,
and
you
know
certainly
for
all
of
us.
One
of
those
is
the
transition
of
Mel
King,
and
it's
it.
Just
in
many
ways
seems
since
his
homegoing
we've
had
the
opportunity
to
be
in
a
number
of
spaces,
doing
the
work
of
actualizing
housing,
Justice,
truly
I,
think
in
every
iteration.
The
ultimate
invest
tribute
to
Mel.
D
D
Grateful
for
her
commitment
to
housing
Justice
grateful
that
she
understands
that
budgets
must
be
a
reflection
of
our
values.
It
is
so
good
to
be
here
in
community
with
all
of
you
this
morning
to
celebrate
the
completion
of
this
much
anticipated
groundbreaking
of
phase
two
of
flat
nine
52
units
of
housing
that
is
Affordable
a
groundbreaking
ceremony
for
phase
three,
the
new
construction
of
172
units
of
mixed
income
housing.
D
I
want
to
thank
Roger
Brown,
the
entire
team
at
POA,
for
the
invitation
to
join
here
today
and
for
your
labor
of
love,
because
I
know.
That
truly
is
what
it
is
on
behalf
of
our
residents
again
in
echoing
the
sentiments,
the
practices
and
the
words
of
Mel
King,
Teamwork
Makes,
the
Dream
Work.
So
I
want
to
express
my
heartfelt
gratitude
to
the
collaborative
efforts
of
Poa
Madison,
Park,
Development
Corporation,
the
Boston,
Housing,
Authority
and
preservation
of
affordable
housing,
whose
hard
work
has
made
today's
achievement
possible.
D
You
know
moments
like
this
feel
extraordinary
and
under
the
mayor's
leadership,
and
that
of
my
partners
on
the
federal
level
and
state
level.
I
know
that
we
will
have
many
more
of
them
and
they
matter
because
none
of
us
want
people
to
know
what
we
do,
because
they
read
a
press
release
or
saw
a
news
story.
D
We
want
you
to
know
what
we're
doing,
because
you
see
and
feel
tangibly
the
impact
of
our
advocacy
on
your
behalf,
and
so
that
is
what's
so
great
about
today.
It's
the
collective
dedication
and
contributions
of
so
many
in
this
moment.
We
are
really
Paving
the
way
for
future
generations
to
have
access
to
housing
that
is
Affordable.
We're,
making
significant
progress
towards
a
more
inclusive
and
sustainable
future
and
I
want
to
be
specific.
I
do
mean
a
diverse
community.
D
We
thank
you
for
your
commitment.
Every
step
of
the
way.
D
I,
haven't
grown
tired
of
getting
to
celebrate
all
these
extraordinary,
powerful
women
I
want
to
issue
an
extend,
a
welcome
to
the
Massachusetts
7
to
my
partner
in
DC
and
deputies,
deputy
secretary
Adrian
Todman
for
joining
us
this
morning.
D
I
was
joking
with
her
well
sort
of
you
know,
saying
that
we
want
Marsha
fudge
back
I,
know
she's
not
even
remotely
tempted
to
come
back
to
the
house,
but
she
she
is
extraordinary
and
you
all
make
a
great
great
team.
So
we
thank
you
for
your
commitment
to
our
families
in
public
housing
and,
of
course,
I
want
to
take
this
opportunity
to
thank
our
in
the
fatigueable
BHA
administrator
Kate
Bennett,
who
had
the
unmitigated
ball
to
introduce
herself
to
me.
D
Okay,
your
reputation
precedes
you,
my
friend
and
and
the
legacy
of
your
impact
is
embedded
in
the
DNA
of
this
city
and,
as
you
go
on
sabbatical,
I
know
what
the
hell
we
will
have
an
extraordinary
leader.
So
congratulations
again:
Kenzie.
D
D
It
is
a
critical
determinant
of
Health
I'm,
so
grateful
to
serve
on
the
financial
services
committee
under
the
leadership
of
ranking
member
Maxine
Waters,
where
we
work
diligently
on
these
issues,
each
and
every
day,
when
Maxine
Waters,
half
a
gavel,
we
had
55
hearings
on
affordable
housing,
much
to
the
Chagrin
and
lamenting
of
our
colleagues
across
the
aisle
and
I
am
certainly
committed
to
making
sure
that
she
gets
that
gavel
back
in
the
next
two
years,
so
that
we
can
continue
this
fight.
D
D
I
have
a
couple
members
here
for
my
team
who
work
in
my
district
office
in
Hyde
Park
and
the
number
one
constituent
inquiry
call
appeal
that
we
receive
is
on
housing.
D
D
Unprecedented
investment-
and
all
of
that
is
reflected
in
this
project,
and
this
will
help
us
to
confront
these
acute
challenges.
Diminishing
availability
of
affordable
housing,
skyrocketing
rents
that
are
leading
to
displacement
and
record
levels
of
homelessness.
Again,
I'm
thankful
to
organizations
like
POA
for
your
purpose
to
safeguard,
to
generate
and
maintain
affordable
and
healthy
homes
that
promote
economic
stability,
Racial
equality
and
equal
opportunities
for
everyone
and
for
their
willingness
to
really
think
creatively
about
how
to
address
the
dire
need
to
rehabilitate
existing
public
housing
stock.
D
This
new
development
at
Whittier
will
Foster
a
dynamic
and
Lively
space.
It
will
encourage
social
interactions,
collaborative
engagement,
also
ensuring
that
families
and
individuals
have
access
to
the
housing
they
need,
which
is
precisely
what
our
residents
require
and
deserve
empowering
all
of
our
residents,
giving
them
a
sense
of
belonging,
centering,
their
Humanity,
their
dignity
and
most
of
all,
this
is
a
demonstration
of
their
leadership
since
they,
this
has
been
a
a
people-powered
movement.
D
So
again,
I
expressed
my
sincere
gratitude
to
everyone
and
it
is
truly
a
great
day
in
the
neighborhood
and
at
the
end
of
the
day,
housing
is
a
human
right
and
everyone
deserves
to
have
a
home.
Congratulations.
D
G
G
G
G
Wouldn't
have
been
able
to
do
it
without
him.
That's
that's
for
sure,
but
we
couldn't
have
done
it
without
all
these
people,
either
I'll
try
to
speed
up
a
little
bit.
I
want
to
go
through
a
list
of
thank
yous.
They
said
I
had
to
thank
our
partners
and
that
list
is
way
too
long.
So
if
I
miss
you
don't
take
offense.
G
We
didn't
forget
Dolly
who's,
not
here
with
us
who
was
one
of
the
public
housing
leaders
at
Whittier,
Street
that
shepherded
us
along
the
way
and
kept
us
in
line
second
of
all,
father
Oscar
Pratt
and
Lisa
Hall
from
Catherine
St
Catherine
Drexel
across
the
way
welcomed
us
to
the
neighborhood
and
helped
us
figure
out.
This
plan
couldn't
have
done
it
without
them.
I'm
just
going
to
go
through
the
list
of
Financial
Partners,
but
before
I
do
I
want
to
take
a
moment
to
recognize
our
board
leader
at
preservation
of
affordable
housing,
Georgia
Murray.
G
Who
is
patient
enough
to
go
along
for
this
ride
for
10
years
and
not
and
not
pull
the
string
on
us?
So
thank
you,
Georgia
for
believing
in
US
our
other
Financial
Partners,
who
are
significant,
include
Bank
of
America,
who
you'll
hear
from
later
mhek
svb
Bank
Peter
you're
there
Eastern
Bank,
AFL-CIO
housing,
Investment
Trust,
the
U.S
Department
of
Housing
and
Urban
Development,
the
state
of
Massachusetts,
the
mayor's
office
of
Housing
and
the
City
of
Boston
and
last
but
not
least,
Mass.
H
G
And
I
say
that,
because,
as
we
put
together,
the
financing
for
what
you
see
here
and
what
is
to
come,
one
of
the
more
significant
aspects
from
our
perspective
was
a
dream
to
make
this
public
housing
community
the
most
integrated
public
housing
community
in
the
city
of
Boston.
Not
just
racially
because
that's
going
to
happen.
But
by
helping
us
build
a
capital
stack
to
support
a
diverse
group
of
incomes,
we're
now
having
public
housing
residents.
G
Tax
credit
tax,
credit
residents
for
those
who
you
who
understand
that
the
next
level
up
Workforce
housing
for
workers
at
University
and
medical
institutions
near
us,
as
well
as
unrestricted
units
in
a
in
a
substantial
way,
a
lot
of
times.
The
financial
tools
that
we
have
to
use
will
not
allow
us
to
do
that.
But
we
were
able
to
achieve
that
here
with
the
support
of
Mass
Housing
and
from
the
directive
at
from
a
director
from
the
local
city
councilor
and
former
mayor
Janie,
who
said
Roger
whatever
you
do.
G
G
G
Now
the
Haley
Tony
partnership
who's
our
construction
management
team,
my
good
friend
Michael
Liu,
who,
on
one
weekend
noodled
with
me
on
the
phone,
the
idea
that
we
could
break
this
into
three
blocks
and
not
two
and
was
critical
to
us,
actually
getting
funded
from
the
government
and,
of
course,
a
huge
poet
team.
Again,
I've
run
out
of
time.
There's
just
one
person
I
really
need
to
recognize.
G
I
I
We've
talked
and
celebrated
the
leaders
that
are
up
here
and
I
think
that
it
gives
me
great
pride
to
be
situated
between
two
phenomenal
leaders.
I
would
say
yes
here
in
Boston,
but
I
will
say,
as
somebody
who
operates
at
the
national
level,
represented
National
goals
and
leaders
as
well
in
your
mayor
and
your
phenomenal
congresswoman,
so
thank
them
both
for
their
values.
I
I
He
was
a
phenomenal
leader
in
the
public
housing
space,
I
used
to
run
a
public
housing
Housing
Authority
myself
some
years
ago,
and
so
I
don't
know
what
it
is
about
the
water
here
in
Boston,
but
to
go
from
Bill's
phenomenal
leadership
to
Kate's
amazing
leadership,
and
you
have
earned
your
sabbatical.
My
sister,
you
have.
Let
me
just
tell
you
I'm,
certainly
looking
forward
to
working
with
Kenzie
and
the
leadership
that
and
HUD
is
here
to
support
you
as
the
folks
that
fund
your
hopes
and
dreams.
I
I
Doesn't
stop
there.
The
president's
American
Rescue
plan
is
playing
a
solid
role
in
the
funding
scheme
here
as
well,
and
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
for
the
foresight
of
using
those
funds
to
invest
in
housing.
Not
every
city
and
town
across
the
country
is
doing
that,
but
where
they
are,
we
are
proud
to
be
standing
there
with
them
and
yeah.
That's
it.
I
I
We
know
that
here
in
Boston
and
throughout
the
country,
there's
a
need
for
more
units
for
low-income
and
moderate
income,
families
to
be
able
to
afford,
and
and
that's
why
we
put
forward
Madam
congresswoman,
an
ambitious
2020
for
budget
to
the
tune
of
you
talked
about
unprecedented
175
billion
dollars
that
we
have
to
invest
in
the
American
people
to
make
sure
that
there's
housing
and
communities
that
they
can
live
safely
and
with
integrity,
and
so
that
budget
is
a
statement
of
the
president's
values.
And
what
do
I
mean
by
that?
I
There's?
A
component
of
the
budget.
That's
called
the
mandatory
side
and
what
sits
in
there
are
the
health
care
funds
and
for
one
of
the
first
times
in
the
history
of
funding
housing.
This
Administration
said
you
know
what
and
I
think
I've
heard.
You
say
this
congresswoman
housing
is
as
important
as
Healthcare,
and
so
we
have
phoned
The
Gauntlet
down
and
said.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we
are
funding
housing
in
a
systemic
way,
not
in
a
will.
I
You
have
it
tomorrow
way,
but
in
a
way
that
represents
that
we
have
to
preserve
the
low-income
units
we
have
by
where
the
public
housing
portfolio,
we
have
to
incent
many
other
cities
to
build
more
and
to
reduce
barriers
to
affordable
housing.
We
have
to
do
more
to
really
break
down
some
of
the
issues
we
have
in
making
sure
there's
rental
assistance
to
many
many
people
who
need
it.
I
I
used
to
run
public
housing
in
a
tough
city
as
well
and
I
walked
into
too
many
sites
where
I
saw
kids,
who
didn't
have
hope
who
didn't
have
hope
because
of
where
they
lived
embarrassed
to
invite
their
schoolmates
over
for
a
sleepover
pizza
delivery,
not
showing
up
right,
taken
away
the
dignity
from
folks
because
of
where
they
live
at
the
end
of
the
day.
What
this
does
it
inspires
little
baby
girls
like
this
one
right
here.
This
is
why
I
do
this
work.
This
is
why
I
know
everybody
behind
me.
Does
this
work?
I
Yes,
it's
to
make
sure
that
we
are
have
in
environments
that
are
safe,
but
it's
to
make
sure
that
our
babies,
like
this,
feel
that
people
out
there
care
for
them
and
they're
gonna
be
there.
Can
they
can
have
a
wonderful
and
thriving
life
I
want
to
thank
all
the
leaders.
That's
touched
this.
This
is
truly
an
example
of
what
this
Administration
wants
to
see
throughout
the
country.
Y'all
done
good.
G
K
You
thank
you
good
morning.
Everyone
thank
you,
so
much
TOA
for
bringing
us
together
to
celebrate
this
historic
Milestone.
As
others
have
noted,
Kate
Bennett
has
been
an
incredible
asset
for
the
city
and
a
trusted
partner
of
dhcd
in
addressing
the
needs
of
an
aging
housing
portfolio
and
putting
residents.
First,
you
were
the
first
Housing
Authority
director
to
put
a
pause
on
all
evictions
during
the
pandemic,
and
you
know
your
dedication
to
preservation
is
why
we
are
celebrating
today
at
Whittier.
K
Thank
you
for
your
service
to
the
thousands
of
BHA
residents
staff
and
the
bha's
long-term
Financial
Outlook
Housing
Development
is
not
linear,
and
it
is
certainly
not
for
the
faint
of
heart.
The
beautiful
buildings
next
to
us
are
the
result
of
years
of
planning,
designs,
engagement,
engineering
and
a
lot
of
permitting.
K
In
addition
to
Kate,
there
are
hundreds
of
more
people
who
are
behind
the
scenes
who
are
making
a
hand
to
put
making
these
projects
happen
from
our
community
organizers
to
construction
project
managers.
Thank
you
here.
In
Roxbury,
200
units
will
become
more
than
300
in
unused.
Unplanned
space
is
growing
into
a
beautiful
living,
breathing
neighborhood
at
dhtd
and
with
Partners
like
Mass
housing.
We
continue
to
look
for
new
ways
to
collaborate
with
housing,
authorities,
municipalities
and
others
to
just
do
what
we're
doing
right
now.
K
That
is
leveraging
private
and
public
funding
to
address
the
immense
demand
for
housing
and
support
communities
that
work
for
all
of
our
residents
here
in
Boston.
In
addition
to
the
blat
9,
we
are
proud
to
be
working
with
the
BHA
to
redevelop
hundreds
of
federal
and
state-aided
public
housing
in
Jamaica,
Plain,
East,
Boston,
Mission,
Hill
and
more
across
the
state.
We
have
opportunities
like
this,
for
local
housing
authorities
and
private
developers
to
team
up
and
be
proactive
Partners
in
addressing
our
housing
crisis,
and
we
are
ready
to
work
with
them.
D
E
You
go
this
late
in
the
program
everything's
been
said,
but
everybody
hasn't
said
it
so
I'm
going
to
try
to
say
something
a
tad
bit
different.
One
thing
I
do
want
to
say
that
everybody
else
has
not
talked
about.
Eight
years
ago,
I
was
under
secretary
and
five
days
into
the
job.
E
I
got
a
note
from
POA
that
said,
You
Gotta
write
this
letter
for
us
for
this
Whittier
application
and
I'm,
just
like
figured
out
where
the
bathroom
is,
and
so
I've
been
on
a
journey
with
you
guys
around
this
for
a
long
long
time,
and
it's
so
exciting,
not
just
with
you
guys,
but
with
the
residents
to
see
it
all
come
together.
E
Roger
talked
a
little
bit
about
Mass
Housing
and
the
nature
of
our
ability
to
make
this
mixed
income
I
just
want
to.
Let
people
know
that
that
is
a
founding
part
of
our
statute
is
to
build
community
where
everybody
of
every
income
can
be
so
I
get
to
stand
here
and
talk
about
it,
but
it's
the
crew
that
does
the
work.
E
And
it's
nice
to
have
these
days
and
we're
all
happy
on
these
days,
but
getting
here
is
not
always
happy,
and
so
I
want
to
thank
you
all
for
making
this
possible
for
the
residents
for
the
city
for
the
country
being
a
leader
across
many
things
in
terms
of
confronting
the
housing
challenges
of
the
Commonwealth
and
one
of
the
reasons,
I
love.
That
mission
is
because
it's
action
is
confronting
right.
It's
like
we
take
that
seriously.
You
know
what
I
mean
it's
like.
These
are
hard
things
and
we're
not
gonna.
E
And
so,
and
so
I
want
to
thank
all
of
our
partners
on
the
federal
level,
all
of
our
partners
on
the
state
level
when
Jennifer
says
we're
friends,
she
means
that
we're
friends.
We
talk
about
this
kind
of
stuff
after
work,
we're
just.
E
Roger
talked
about
Mina,
you
know,
I
am
the
President
of
the
Mina
Jacob
fan
club,
and
so
we
make
sure
that
we
invest
not
just
in
our
residence
but
in
our
folks
to
make
sure
that
you
know
the
legacies
that
we're
all
building
around
the
city
come
true
and
finally,
I
want
to
say
we
had
when,
when
we
got
the
announcement
from
HUD
that
we
got
the
award,
there
was
a.
There
was
a
similar
type
of
event
and
they
weren't
all
women
and
women
of
color
up
there.
G
Lastly,
not?
Lastly,
but
most
important
to
this
work
is
our
ability
to
attract
private
capital
and
we've
done
that
with
a
number
of
different
partners.
Here
on
the
third
phase,
our
most
significant
partner
is
Bank
of
America.
So
I've
been
like
doing
Mary
Thompson
up
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
Bank
of
America.
F
F
So
Bank
of
America
provided
the
construction
financing
and
the
tax
credit
equity
for
phase
three
of
this
flat.
Nine
at
Whittier
was
just
so
thrilled
to
be
able
to
provide
that
Capital.
F
Really
the
the
groundbreaking
today
took
a
Herculean
effort.
You
know
all
of
us
that
were
involved
with
the
clothing.
You
know
the
gumbo
of
a
sources
of
funding.
You
know
just
kind
of
getting
all
of
the
the
puzzle.
Pieces
together
took
a
lot
of
hard
work
and
again
I
am
the
vice
president
of
the
Mina
Jacobs
fan
club.
D
F
President
I
am
the
vice
president.
She
was
the
one
that
kept
us
all
focused.
It
was
her.
You
know,
commitment
her
tenacity,
her
grit
every
day,
I
would
get
these
phone
calls
from
Minaj
and
she
just
it
was
just
phenomenal
that
you
know.
We
just
really
appreciate
that
and
you
really
did
get
us
to
that
finish
line,
and
you
know
we
thank
you.
Thank
you.
So
much
I
want
to
thank
my
team.
The
Bank
of
America
team
Trish
Marinelli
is
here
today
she's
our
credit
exec.
F
She
approves
everything
that
I
bring
in
and
say
we
need
to
do
this,
and
so
thank
you.
Tris
for
your
support.
You've
been
phenomenal
and
you
know
I
just
in
our
our
legal
councils.
You
know
we
work
with
Holland
tonight
the
Klein
hornig
every
other
funders
legal
teams
have
really
you
know
again
just
helped
us
guide
us,
so
we
could
get
to
the
get
to
this
point
figure
out
these
really
complex
financing
structures
so
that
we
can
close
these
deals
and
build
this
housing
and
really
that's
it
I'm.
Just
thank
you.
F
G
You
know
I
just
dawned
on
me
that
we
probably
did
this
speaking
order
upside
down,
no
no
offense
to
the
VIPs,
but
the
re.
The
reason
we're
all
here
actually
is
because
of
the
residence
Equity.
Yes,
that's
where
the
story
starts,
not
a
building,
not
the
money,
although
keep
the
money
coming,
it's
really
about
the
residents
of
Whittier,
so
we'd
like
to
make
some
space
right
now
for
you
to
hear
I'm
going
to
get
the
name
wrong.
J
Naomi
and
Zora
Pearl
hi
good
morning.
Everyone
thank
you
so
much
for
having
me
I'm,
the
closer,
so
I'm
a
little
intimidated.
But
again
thank
you.
Thank
you.
So
much
poets
specifically
for
preserving,
affordable
housing,
because
without
this
project
and
everyone
behind
it,
we
wouldn't
be
here.
My
family
and
I
would
not
be
living
in
this
glorious
re-establishment
in
my
community
I'm
born
and
raised
in
Boston.
This
is
where
I
want
to
raise
my
own
family,
Rich,
cultured
and
amazing.
All
in
all,
so
thank
you
poet.
J
Definitely
thank
you
so
much
for
having
the
diversity
available
to
us
in
our
offices
when
I,
walk
in
and
I
see,
Jada
and
I
see
Ida
and
I
see
everybody.
It
looks
like
me.
It
looks
like
the
people.
I
grew
up
with
it's
my
neighborhood,
it's
my
community
and
that
is
empowering
in
itself
and
thank
you
for
that
for
making
sure
that
you're
that
you're
keeping
us
true
to
us.
J
Thank
you
ultimately
thank
you
so
much
again
for
the
reestablishment
here
right
in
Roxbury,
because
being
local
being
close
to
all
of
the
museums,
the
exhibits,
the
bodegas,
the
everything
that
we
need
to
run
our
life
and
and
to
raise
our
family
is
close
by.
We
have
the
Do
It
Center
that
we
can
go
shoot
hoops
with
our
family.
We
can
go
across
and
run
some
laps
at
Madison,
there's
so
much
space.
J
We
have
engine
Crossing
that
Jada
just
told
me
about
and
I'm
so
psyched,
because
we
can
hold
community
art
events
and
whatnot
there,
and
it
just
is
amazing
and
it's
flourishing
so
and
all
thank
you
so
much
this
empowering
panel
that
I'm
so
blessed
and
lucky
to
be
with
and
for
Zora
to
be
able
to
see
and
the
rest
of
my
kids
to
to
continue
Paving
on.
So
thank
you,
I
appreciate
you.
L
I,
like
everybody
to
Bow
their
head,
please
in
silence
every
members
of
Bill
McGonagall,
dolly
the
ones
that
have
gone
on
to
Glory
I.
Thank
him,
I'm
still
standing.
Thank
you
Jesus.
Thank
you
God,
for
that,
because
I
was
on
the
team
for
the
history
when
they
first
broke
around
Bill
McGonagall
and
Dolly
and
I,
and
the
Milwaukee
and
a
lot
of
other
representatives
were
there
up
on
the
up
on.
L
And
we
were
so
blessed
to
be
able
to
win
the
Grant
from
you
all
I
want
to
also
let
you
all
know,
I
thank
God
that
I'm
still
standing
in
remembrance
of
my
board
members
in
memorance
of
Leticia.
You
feel
great
for
us
when
we
were
going
through
the
transformation
and
God
has
risen.
You
up
another
level.
God
bless
you,
okay,
God
bless
you
your
sweetheart
I
know
Bill's
shining
down
on
you.
L
I
know
he
is
to
a
lot
of
other
ones
out
here,
always
Brenda,
Brenda,
I'm
glad
I
first
met
you
I
was
a
nobody,
never
nobody,
but
now
I
have
rised
up,
and
here
I'm
standing.
Thank
you
all
and
most
of
all,
I
want
to.
Let
you
all
know
too
that
I'm,
proud
I'm
so
proud
that
we
got
the
grant
I'm
so
proud
that
look
at
the
buildings.
But
you
know
what
everybody's
forgetting
about.
L
You
know
what
the
most
important
thing
is:
we're
getting
ready
for
the
next
Generation
We're,
not
gonna,
be
here
forever,
so
that
our
children
and
their
children
will
be
here
to
see
the
outcome
and
support
of
how
we
stuck
together.
And
if
you
all
go
to
the
DeWitt
Center
over
there
you'll
see
two
plaques
on
the
wall
and
you'll
see
outstanding
Roxbury
women
in
the
community
that
I
gave
that
performance
for
them
and
outstanding
men
in
the
Roxbury,
Community
and
I
gave
that
out
to
them.
So
thank
you
all
once
again,
Bernice
Woodley!
L
H
H
And
I
can't
tell
it
all,
but
I
am
here
today
to
do
you
know
to
deliver
my
message
and
I
love
the
building.
Nice
people
I,
don't
have
any
complaints,
everybody
is
nice.
They're
clean,
they're,
caring,
they're
attitudible.
They.
