With
the
pride
committee
visit
Boston
pride
org
this
spring
has
been
a
historic
season
for
Massachusetts.
B
For
the
first
time
ever
in
our
Commonwealth,
the
city
of
Boston
has
raised
the
transgender
pride
flag
outside
of
Boston
City
Hall
in
another
historic
move
on
May
twelfth.
The
Massachusetts
Senate
voted
overwhelmingly
to
pass
SB
735
legislation
that
would
extend
existing
non-discrimination,
protections
to
transgender
base
daters
in
public
places
like
restaurants,
doctors,
offices
malls
and
banks.
This
was
a
huge
victory,
but
there's
more
work
to
be
done.
B
As
the
bill
now
moves
to
the
house,
we
are
proud
to
be
able
to
say
that
Boston
has
had
its
own
non-discrimination
ordinance
for
14
years
to
protect
transgender
people
from
unfair
treatment
and
harm.
But
it's
just
not
right.
When
transgender
residents
of
Boston
leave
the
city,
they
risk
not
having
the
same
protections
transgender
base.
Daters
should
not
be
forced
on
a
daily
basis
to
navigate
a
patchwork
of
City
laws
and
second-guess
whether
or
not
they're
safe
from
discrimination
or
harm.
B
No
one
should,
in
this
day
and
age,
in
the
state
of
Massachusetts
long
a
model
for
inclusion
and
civil
rights,
everyone
should
be
able
to
live
confidently
and
free
of
the
fear
of
unfair
treatment
or
harm.
Today
we
are
truly
honored
to
stand
alongside
you
and
so
many
other
base
daters,
who
are
committed
to
fighting
to
the
end
for
transgender
equality
for
any
questions
or
concerns.
