From YouTube: Mary Longleys National Night Out Block Party 2019
Description
In continuation of National Night Out 2019, Mayor Walsh, Commissioner Gross, Councilor Flynn, and the South End of Boston celebrated their police-community partnership in honor of Mary Longley at Titus Sparrow Park. The South End neighborhood shows their appreciation year after year for Longley's efforts in bettering the community.
A
A
We
have
we
don't
late,
Massaro,
quitting's
she's
got
her
violin
and
sir,
how
many
songs
you
gonna
do
just
one
day.
Are
you
ready
good
do
what
you
do?
Yeah
I
wanna
hear
a
big
round
of
applause
of
welcome
to
the
stage
buses.
Oh
sorry,.
B
A
A
The
food
is
good
everybody's
looking
good,
and
you
know
what
give
yourselves
a
big
round
of
applause,
because
you
are
out
here
doing
great
things
and
celebrating
and
every
tape
we're
going
to
hear
from
some
great
people
and
we're
also
going
to
have
some
great
entertainers
and
a
little
bit
I'll
come
back.
Onstage
and
I'll
give
you
a
chance
to
win
some
shirts.
Some
t-shirts.
B
A
C
C
D
E
D
D
We
had
a
couple
of
great
nights
for
National
Night,
Out
superintendent,
Nora
bastions,
here
hi
Nora
she's,
coming
up
here
now
in
a
couple
of
great
nights
going
around
the
city
of
Boston,
talking
about
National,
Night,
Out
chocolate
or
we
doing
the
city
was
happening
in
the
city,
and
this
is
a
celebration
for
the
residents
recognizing
the
police
and
the
police
recognize.
The
residents
are
working
together
and
I
want
to.
Thank
you
for
your
doing
the
hero
area,
because
it's
a
beautiful
neighborhood.
D
This
is
a
beautiful
part
and
everyone
hears
or
incredible
stuff,
so
I
want
to
say.
Thank
you
a
couple
of
the
stats
that
I
was
talking
about
the
other
night.
Indeed
for.
As
of
true
Mexico,
there's
four
shootings
it
down
33
percent
from
this
time
last
year,
homicides
you're
up
homicides
from
this
time
last
year.
D
All
but
age'
crime
is
down
12
11
percent
in
the
City
of
Austin
in
initiative
district
here
in
the
city
citywide
homicide,
the
down,
22
percent
shootings,
are
up
12
percent,
which
is
which
is
an
issue
that
we're
working
on
every
day.
I'll
come
back
to
that.
A
second
violent
crime,
property
crime
and
major
crime
is
down
by
9%,
arrested
down
by.
E
D
The
police
taken
462
guns
off
the
street,
the
problem
we
have
a
man
listening
about
the
shootings,
we
have
a
mosque
that
people
say
what
are
you
going
to
do
about
it
right
now,
there's
a
bill
in
front
the
United
States
Senate.
That
was
thought
that
would
put
some
restrictions.
Some
background
checks
on
buying
guns
outside
of
Massachusetts
75%
of
the
guns
used
in
Massachusetts,
don't
come
from
Massachusetts
the
gun
laws
and
other
states
are
a
lot
more
easier.
D
There's
no
background
checks
and
there's
major
problems,
we're
seeing
those
ghosts,
those
weapons
come
to
our
city
and
right
now,
there's
an
opportunity.
I
signed
a
letter
the
other
day
with
200
pairs
from
around
america,
demanding
that
the
United
States
Senate
takes
up
this
piece
of
legislation
and
move
forward.
So
I'm
asking
you
here
today.
This
is
my
house
tomorrow.
When
you
know
we've
hit
chance,
you
sent
a
warrant
and
sent
a
monkey,
a
call
that
both
supporter
of
the
legislation,
but
some
of
them.
D
We
have
to
stop
that
so
I'm
asking
you
that's
the
one
has
to
happen
tonight,
we're
also
working
in
the
neighborhood
without
new
Bureau
Bureau
of
community
engagement,
nor
a
bashing
this
year
and
Norah's
in
charge
of
that
some
of
fun
is
up.
This
year,
we
promoting
our
summer
fun
outreach
work
of
the
short
program.
We
revamp
the
soar
program,
usually
the
used
to
be
the
street
record
program
and
we're
working
to
do
that,
and
one
of
the
big
issues
that
plagued
this
state
where
they
know
it
does,
is
his
addiction
and
our
budget.
D
This
year
has
25
percent
more
in
it
for
addiction,
and
we
often
talk
about
what's
happening
down.
The
street
and
I
was
walking
in
here
and
say
the
pressure
has
to
be
what's
going
on,
while
indeed
and
mass
out
what's
going
on.
There
is
that
we
have
an
addiction
problem
in
our
country
and
we
have
to
continue
to
work
at
that,
those
those
those
those
issues
that
get
to
the
heart
of
them,
or
putting
more
counselors
on
the
street
a
little
more
outreach
to
people
and
we're
trying
to
encourage
more
people
to
get
treatment.
D
The
one
thing
I'll
say
they
won
here
because
that
that
issue
of
addiction
isn't
just
on
that
NASA
and
NASA
and
Cass
it's
in
our
home.
Since
my
kitchen
stop
family
members,
we
created
in
a
3-1
run
line
that
a
couple
years
ago.
If
you
have
a
field
named
under
struggle
with
addiction,
alcohol,
the
drugs-
you
don't
know
what
to
do,
you
can
call
3-1-1.
We
can
hook
up
with
a
counselor
explains
you
what
the
steps
are
and
try
and
not
that
person
into
recovery.
D
They
feel
they,
member
that,
once
you
get
into
recovery,
you
just
fall
through
works.
You
cook
them
in
to
get
them
into
recovery.
Those
are
things
that
we
have
to
continue
to
do
with
that
or,
if
you
actually,
that
would
be
a
recognized
tonight
and
I'm
gonna
turn
this
microphone
over
to
the
police.
Commissioner,
police,
commissioner,
who
is
here
in
two
days
on
the
job
commissioner
Ross
yeah.
D
E
I
just
look
around
and
celebration
look
and
all
the
people
out
here
will
afford
funeral
jerison
a
great
memory
of
a
wonderful
woman
that
took
care
of
the
community.
This
is
a
great
legacy
as
we
see
adults.
As
you
see
children,
we
see
an
entire
diversified
community
together
all
God's
children
and
remembrance
of
this
great
woman,
because
this
is
what
she
would've
liked
and
I
just
have
to
salute
you
all
for
up
before
for
bringing
that
great
memory
of
her
escape
everyone.
E
E
It's
just
like
the
community
that
graves
meet
a
farm
boy
toufic
in
the
city,
all
the
way
the
police,
commissioner,
because
of
you
and
her
great
legacy.
Let's
keep
this
going
so
that
the
children
here
today
will
be
the
next
fear
the
next
Commissioner
the
next
president,
but
they
will
have
an
understanding
of
love,
peace,
affection
respect
because
it
all
started
with
a
great
woman
and
we
are
an
extension
of
her
family.
So
thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
