From YouTube: National Night Out 2017: Allston-Brighton
Description
Who says cops can't have fun? Residents from across the city joined with police and city officials for fun, food and music during the National Night Out celebration. One stop was Brighton Commons in Brighton.
A
B
Thank
You
captain
how
about
a
nice
round
of
applause,
the
Irish
dances.
Here
they
were
great.
You
did
a
great
job,
all
I
know,
but
if
they
came
back,
Helen
I
took
Irish
step-dancing
for
about
two
months
and
my
set
the
mama.
This
is
not
for
me,
so
I
left,
but
I
want
to
say
the
young
man
that
was
here
what
a
great
the
answer
he
was
and
thank
you
for
that.
I
want
to
also
thank
you
like
to
the
fish
I
want
them
actually
come
on
up
here.
State
representative,
Kevin
Honan.
Thank
you.
B
Kevin,
come
on
up
keV,
we're
doing
some
great
stuff,
City
Council
Moxie,
Elmo
Mike,
who
helped
put
the
budgets
work
one
up
here:
Mike
I'll
put
the
budget
through
City
Council
and
Easter
Lobby
George
come
on
up
here
in
ISA,
City,
Council,
citywide
and
city
council
Michael
flurries
out
there
somewhere.
I
know
that
I
saw
Michael
Michael
come
on
up
here,
but
I
want
to
thank
these
elected
officials
as
well
for
their
great
work
and
what
they
do
every
single
day.
B
For
all
of
you,
on
behalf
of
all
of
you,
I
want
to
I
want
to
congratulate
the
the
Community
Service
Award
I
know
we're
gonna
give
that
in
a
few
minutes
and
the
Crimewatch
group
of
the
year.
Thank
you.
Without
the
without
the
strong
support
of
crime
watches
and
with
the
neighborhood,
you
don't
have
great
neighborhoods,
like
you
do
here
in
Austin
bright,
and
just
so
you
know,
there's
a
14%
overall
drop
in
crime.
B
Actually
18
percent
drop
in
overall
crime
in
this
neighborhood
in
a
56
percent
drop
in
in
burglaries,
and
that's
due
to
the
great
work
you
do
and
I
think.
If
I
remember
correctly.
Last
year,
when
I
stood
up
here,
I
talked
about
I
talked
about
a
reduction
in
crime
in
burglaries
and
the
year
before.
We
do
the
same
thing.
So
it's
because
of
the
great
activism
of
so
many
people
here
today.
I
want
to
thank
you
all,
congratulations
and
congratulate
all
of
you
on
that.
B
In
a
human
trafficking,
division
also
made
made
23
arrests
in
the
Lower
Austin
area,
and
you
might
see
that
that's
like
a
big
number
and
you
make
a
concern,
but
a
human
trafficking
division
is
really
about
helping.
How
do
we
get
women
out
of
that
life
and
how
do
we
work
together?
So
it's
not
just
arresting
people,
but
it's
also
trying
to
do
more
to
stop
sex
trafficking
and
human
trafficking
out
there.
So
again,
I
want
to
thank
the
police
department
and
thank
the
community
for
all
the
great
work
you
do.
B
The
only
thing
another
thing
I
have
is:
we
are
upcoming
event,
coffee
with
a
cop
on
the
23rd
of
August
at
fuel
America.
Please
come
out
and
get
a
chance
to
sit
down
and
talk
to
the
police
department.
They
will
all
beaten
up,
they
won't,
they
won't
all
be
there,
but
the
captain
Russell
be
there.
Cso's
will
be
there.
The
Commission
will
be
there.
Chief
Willie
gross
is
here
to
somewhere
I
want
to
thank
chief
groceries,
chief
gross
Thank
You
chief.
Thank
you
very
much
and
now
I
think
do
I
turn.
B
C
Was
hoping
to
see
the
mayor
do
a
little
Irish
tap-dancer,
so
here
he
goes
but
I
say
thank
you
all
for
coming.
I
love,
Austin,
Brighton
I
have
a
lot
of
good
friends
out
here.
This
is
really
where
I
I
really
started
to
understand
what
community
policing
was
all
about.
I
had
a
lot
of
good
friends
out
here.
You
know
the
electeds,
the
Honan
brothers
max
and
homo
and
and
all
the
electives
were
great.
So
you
know
I
just
want
to
congratulate
Paul
Russell
in
the
officers
from
dish
14
they
do
a
great
job.
C
Heaven
18
crime
reduction
is
some
pretty
impressive
numbers
and
throughout
the
city
with
where
eight
overall
in
part,
one
crime,
the
Violent
Crimes
down.
So
you
know
the
city's
doing
well,
obviously,
we
have
to
work
in
some
neighborhoods
to
get
some
of
the
shootings
down,
but
overall,
the
city's,
probably
one
of
the
safest
cities
easily
in
America
and
I'm,
proud
to
lead
this
department
I
have
a
great
department
and
we
have
great
community
members
like
we
have
today,
especially
elderly.
No
one
supports
their
police
more
than
the
elderly.
C
So
I
want
to
thank
everyone
for
coming
and
I
really
appreciate
the
support
that
we
get
out
here
in
Austin
Brighton.
It
was,
it
will
always
be
special
to
me.
It
will
all
be
always
be
special
to
our
Police
Department.
So
thank
you
all
for
coming
out.
I
appreciate
it
and
with
that
I'm
gonna
introduce
I,
guess,
I'm
I'm
introducing
this.
A
C
I
guess:
I'm
I'm
reading,
okay,
I'm
glad
I,
don't
need
glasses
here
all
right,
then
the
2017
crime
watch
group
of
the
year
goes
to
child's
view
residents
and
child's

incorporated.
So
if
we
can
get
them
to
come
up
and
I'm
gonna
read
the
story
on
them
today.
The
Boston
Police

District

is
very
sorry
to
see
Kate

Oh,
oh
your
ex.
They
didn't
tell
me
that
so
I
got
a
mixed
up,
so
she's
going
back
to
school
for
a
second
master's
degree.
C
D
D
We
have
a
model,
Police,
Department
and
I'm
glad
to
be
a
partner
with
them
and
everything
for
Allston
Brighton,
and
thank
you
again
to
the
seniors
that
are
here
tonight
today,
and
you
know
you
know
you
have
great
partners
in
government
and
in
every
city
department,
and
we
are
here
to
serve
you.
So
thank
you
and
anybody
else.
Shawn.
C
E
E
This
is
the
34th
annual
National
Night
Out
Boston,
which
is
a
citywide
community
building
celebration
in
which
we,
the
Boston
Police
Department
in
district
14
we
are
extremely
committed
to
this-
is
something
we
do
every
day.
24/7
our
doors
always
open.
You
know,
there's
always
talk
talk
about
the
you
know
the
big
crimes
that
go
around
the
city,
but
you
know
issues
such
as
the
you
know,
the
black
and
dog
or
graffiti
on
the
wall.
E
Those
are
things
that
we
take
just
as
serious
and
those
are
things
we're
always
looking
to
work
with
our
partners
in
the
community
to
come
up
with
creative
solutions
and
dealing
with,
and
that's
what
we're
all
about,
it's
all
about
community
policing.
So
we
appreciate
everybody.
Turning
out
today,
I'd
like
to
thank
some
individuals
who
volunteered
their
time
and
to
come
out
here
and
to
assist
us.
They
were
willing
to
come
out
here.
E
They
they
they
ran
up
here
to
help
us
so,
first
of
all,
I'd
like
to
thank
Millie
mcLaughlin
who's,
the
executive
director
of
the
Veronica
Smith
senior
saw
Millie,
provided
the
chairs
in
the
tables,
for
so
we're
very
appreciative
to
Millie.
Would
also
like
to
thank
Helen
Connelly
is
Helen
over
there
Helen's
from
the
Austin
Brian
some
subdues
task
force.
She
was
last
year's
winner.
Helen
does
a
lot
of
great
things,
working,
especially
with
the
youth.
She
does
a
lot
of
work
with
Frank
from
my
office,
Frank
Hughes,
so
we
appreciate
it.
E
Thank
You
Helen
for
coming
I
would
also
like
to
thank
st.
E's
is
here
they
have
a
table
set
up
in
the
back
back,
there
say
knees.
We
have
Nicky
Mount
Curran
with
from
Sandy's
and
her
group
back
there.
We
also
have,
if
you
haven't,
had
your
share
of
coffee.
Yet
we
Luis
from
Dunkin
Donuts
is
here
to
help.
E
I
would
also
like
to
thank
once
again,
if
Joanne
still
up
here,
Joanne
she
all
she
helped
provide
the
food
for
this,
so
she's
we're
talking
with
Joey
and
all
the
time
she
does
wonderful
things
down.
A
child's
view
was
so
appreciative
that
you're
with
us
in
this
community
and
thank
you
I,
would
also
like
to
thank
the
sound
that
was
provided
today
with
Patrick.
Is
he
here
somewhere
he's
there?
E
He
is
Thank
You
Patrick
for
providing
the
sound
once
this
once
this
event
is
over
once
the
Sun
Goes
Down
we're
gonna,
be
having
a
movie
night
here
tonight.
We're
gonna
be
setting
up
the
big
movie
screen
for
all
you,
big
Star
Wars
fans,
we're
going
to
be
showing
the
Star
Wars.
So
if
you
have,
the
kids
bring
them
on
up.
I
would
like
to
thank
Robin,
Bank,
Brighton,
Main
streets
and
Tom
Meyers
from
the
YMCA
who
was
working
with
us
on
this.
E
So
thank
you
very
much
and
once
again,
like
I,
said
you
know
it
when
it
comes
to
this
type
of
event.
This
this
event
kind
of
promotes
what
the
Boston
Police
Department
is
all
about,
and
that's
community
policing.
So
we
thank
you.
We
appreciate
it
and
oh
yeah
I
forgot
to
mention
one
last
from
the
presentation
rehab
in
skilled
care
center.
E
We
have
an
Conklin
and
chef
Mark
Koontz
who,
before
we
cut
the
cake
you
might
want
to
come
over
and
take
a
peek
of
this
cake
over
here
mark
made
an
amazing
Boston
police
uniform
cake.
So
we
appreciate
it
and
she's
been
ringing
out
phone
a
lot.
She
wants
to
help
and
all
the
things
that
it's
all
about
it,
it's
partnership
with
the
community
and
in
working
together.
So
we
thank
you
very
much.
We
appreciate
it
so
I
think
we're
gonna
bring
a
band
up.
Thank
you.
