Description
Mayor Walsh joins Boston Police Commissioner Gross and other public officials to discuss public safety preparations in advance of the New England Patriots victory parade of Super Bowl LIII.
A
Roster
cos
today
from
Boston
Police
Commissioner
Finn
from
Boston
Fire,
Department,
Commissioner,
Finn
doctor
from
transportation.
He
fully
from
EMS
chief
green
from
the
MBTA
police,
Kim
Kamber,
set
from
special
events
and
shermaine
benefit
chief
of
emergency
management
and
the
speaking
today
is
gonna,
be
the
Commissioner
cross
was
gonna,
speak
and
chief
greens
going
to
tell
a
little
bit
about
the
MBTA
so
we'll
cover
both
sides
of
of
what's
going
on
tomorrow,
I
wanna
I
want
to
first
of
all,
just
congratulate
the
Rams
on
a
great
season.
The
mayor
of
La
is
a
good
friend.
A
Eric
Garcetti
and
I
saw
him
on
Saturday
morning
and
he
was
talking
a
little.
A
little
trash
we
bought
went
back
and
forth
I.
There
was
no
back.
We
talk
a
little
trash
and
during
the
game
you
know
his
his
texting
team.
He
got
less
and
less
less
as
the
game
went
on
so
I
wanna
I
want
to
congratulate
you
Eric
for
four
great
season
seriously,
but
honestly,
here
in
Boston,
you
know
yesterday's
game
was.
It
was
pretty
if
you're
a
football
fan
and
you
like
the
offense.
A
It
was
an
amazing
football
game
and
coach
Belichick
to
him
and
and
all
the
players
Julian
Edelman,
the
MVP,
obviously
the
greatest
quarterback
of
a
Tom
Brady
and
the
Kraft
family
and
the
entire
organization
I
want
to
congratulate
them
on
their
sixth
champion
sixth
ring,
it's
certainly
a
definition
of
resilience
and
it's
something
that
does
inspire
everybody
on
make
sure
making
sure
that
you
stay
on
top
of
your
game.
I
want
to
thank
everyone
for
celebrating
responsibly
last
night,
or
mostly
everyone
we'll
talk
about
that
in
a
minute.
A
I
want
to
give
a
special
shout
out-
and
we
said
this
on
Friday
to
the
police
department,
the
fire
department
EMS
for
all
their
work
and
making
sure
that
the
city
people
were
safe
out
there
and
most
of
the
people
that
want
to
work
on
on
Sunday
I
will
order
to
work.
You
know
they
were
ordered
to
make
sure
we
had
extra
security
and
extra
protection
inside
the
City
of
Austin,
but
also
making
sure
that
we
kept
our
neighborhood
safe
as
well.
A
We
only
had
one
one
arrest
and
it
was
not
a
young
person
from
Boston,
so
we're
asking
what's
saying
well
fans
in
all
seriousness,
just
like
our
Patriots,
we
showed
the
world.
What
Boston
is
all
about.
We
win
with
class,
we
celebrate
with
class
and
part
of
our
celebration
of
our
team
is
showing
respect
for
the
city
of
Boston
and
in
the
city
that
you
go
to
school
in
or
you
live
in,
or
you're
working.
A
We're
asking
people
we
ask
people
on
Friday
were
asked
you
getting
to
respect
one
another
respect
our
streets,
respect
our
parks,
respect
our
neighborhoods,
as
as
the
rally
goes
through
the
city
of
Boston.
Tomorrow,
I
want
to
be
very
clear
that
on
those
duck
boats,
gonna
be
families,
kids,
the
Patriots,
we're
gonna,
bring
their
their
families
with
them,
and
young
people
with
them
watching
the
parade
are
gonna,
be
kids
and
families.
So
we're
asking
you
do
not
throw
things.
Do
not
throw
beers,
do
not
throw
anything
at
those
boats.
A
We
don't
want
to
see
anyone
get
hurt,
while
they're
in
town
celebrating
and
watching
a
parade
with
an
unfortunate
incident
during
the
Red
Sox
parade.
Where
somebody
threw
a
beer
and
it
hit
the
trophy
and
Alex
Cora,
and
that's
something
that
we
do
not
want
to
see
here
in
the
city
of
Boston,
so
the
deck
boats
gonna
be
fired
up.
The
victory,
parades,
gonna
saddle
eleven
o'clock
tomorrow.
It's
gonna
start
at
the
hinds
Convention
Center,
and
it's
gonna
end
here
at
City
Hall
in
the
front
of
City
Hall.
A
We're
not
gonna
have
a
rally
here
on
City
Hall
plaza
for
a
number
of
reasons,
but
one
is
really
about
about
making
sure
that
our
public
safety
officials
on
oval
and
overworked
in
the
sense
of
what
happened
this
weekend
and
also
just
logistically
a
lot
of
the
players
head
back
home
after
after
the
rally
tomorrow.
That's
kind
of
the
last
official
event
and
they
get
a
chance
to
go
and
enjoy
their
summer
starts
tomorrow.
A
We
also
want
you
to
know
if
we
want
to
find
a
full
list
of
street
closures
and
parking
restrictions.
Boston
gov,
slash,
Patriots
parade,
Boston
gov,
slash,
Patriots
parade
will
you'll
find
all
of
Street
closings.
Our
number
one
priority
is
safety.
Alarm.
Foursomes
agencies
have
been
working
together
to
make
sure
that
everything
goes
smoothly.
Every
single
person
has
a
role
to
play.
First,
we
were
asking
people
to
leave
your
car
at
home,
they'll
be
very
difficult
to
drive
around
the
city
of
Boston
tomorrow
and
be
able
to
navigate
your
way.
A
So
if
you
leave
your
car
at
home,
take
the
MBTA
chief
green,
we'll
talk
a
little
more
about
the
MBTA.
We're
asking
people
to
walk
ride,
blue
bikes
come
on
in
in
town,
if
you
like,
the
parades
also
gonna,
be
broadcast,
live
on,
TV
I,
think
almost
every
stations
probably
carrying
the
parade
tomorrow,
so
you
can
watch
from
home
as
well.
If
you
can't
make
it
into
town
tomorrow
and
I
want
to
just
remind
everyone
that
public
drinking
will
not
be
tolerated,
there
is
absolutely
zero
public
drinking
on
the
streets
and
also
smoking.
A
Marijuana
is
in
public,
is
illegal
as
well,
and
that
will
not
be
tolerated
either
tomorrow,
because
a
lot
of
people
bring
in
their
kids
and
we
don't,
they
don't
need
to
be
seeing
people
drinking
and
smoking
marijuana
on
the
sidewalks.
This
is
a
family
event.
Many
kids
we're
asking
everyone
to
set
a
good
example.
Boston
Police
and
their
partners
will
be
out
in
numbers
to
make
sure
that
everyone
can
is
safe,
and
it
has
a
great
time
here
in
the
city
and
if
you
have
any
questions
about
anybody,
the
weather's
gonna
be
perfect
tomorrow.
A
So
no
we're
not
dealing
with
snow
we're
not
dealing
with
freezing
cold
weather,
but
we
will
have
plenty
of
emergency
personnel
out
on
the
street,
whether
it's
a
firefighter
police
officer
EMT
in
any
any
any
type
of
jurisdiction.
Just
just
ask
them
if
you
need
any
help
tomorrow
and
if
you
see
something
we're
asking
you
to
say
something:
is
there
something
out
of
the
ordinary
that
doesn't
look
right?
We
have
no
threats
for
this
parade
tomorrow,
but
if
something
is
something
it
looks
out
of
the
ordinary
we're
asking
you
to
to.
A
Let
us
know
it's
incredible
to
be
mayor
of
a
city,
we
have
victory,
parades
have
become
the
norm
and
they
jokingly
came
in
the
minute
ago.
Talking
about
you
know
a
couple
years
ago,
we're
in
here
every
single
couple
days
for
a
press
conference
on
snow,
and
this
is
a
there's,
our
second
parade
now
and
I-
think
98
days.
Second
world
championship
parade.
So
it's
exciting.
The
fact
is,
we've
been
here
before
and
we're
ready
for
tomorrow.
A
So
so
will
the
fans
and
the
fans
are
excited
and
ready
for
tomorrow
again
I
just
want
to
say
congratulations
to
New
England
Patriots
for
an
incredible
season.
Can
all
the
Finns
who
never
gave
up
on
the
New
Zealand
Patriots
and
remind
the
whole
world
whole
world,
we're
still
here.
So
thank
you
very
much
and
I'm
gonna
turn
the
podium
over
to
being
clapping
Thank
You
Roz.
B
Congratulations
to
the
New
England
Patriots,
the
best
team
on
earth.
Six
Super
Bowl
rings
six
you're
right
mayor.
We
are
still
here
with
that
being
said:
we're
gonna
need
a
bigger
box
for
one
more
ring
and
we're
gonna
need
some
more
new
patches.
That
says
five.
That's
just
a
letter
going!
No
we're
still
here,
as
the
mayor
alluded
to.
This
is
a
family
event.
Folks,
we've
been
here
before
this
is
our
sixth
championship
parade.
So
please
act
responsibly.
B
The
route
that
we're
gonna
take
from
the
hinds
will
be
along
Boylston,
Street
to
Tremont
Street,
to
Cambridge
Street,
then
to
News,
Chardin,
Street
and
then
on
to
Congress
Street
Congress
Street.
There
will
be
no
rally
at
City
Hall.
So,
as
the
duck
boats
go
through,
we
don't
need
everyone
rushing
to
City
Hall
plaza,
because
there
will
be
no
rally
there.
The
duck
boats
will
keep
going
we're
expecting
well
over
a
million
folks
family
event,
no
public
drinking,
no
smoking
of
marijuana.
Just
because
you
like
to
smell,
doesn't
mean
a
little
kid.
B
Does
we
always
ask
you
to
apply
common
sense,
especially
to
a
family
event
where
we
want
everybody
to
celebrate
responsibly?
So
please
don't
throw
alcoholic
beverages
at
the
duck
boats.
The
next
statement
I
have
to
make
is
for
the
parents
every
time
we
have
a
parade.
There
are
several
that
come
into
the
city
that
are
teenagers
young
men
and
women
that
are
already
inebriated
and,
as
chief
Huli
can
tell
you
they're
often
taken
to
the
hospital.
This
is
your
bloodline
and
your
responsibilities,
responsibilities
to
continue
that.
B
So
please,
if
your
children
are
coming
into
the
city,
make
sure
that
they
don't
have
alcoholic
beverages
and
sometimes
they
disguise
the
alcohol
by
putting
them
in
containers
that
are
for
for
soda
or
water
bottles.
Again,
we've
been
here
several
parades
and
and
every
time
and
we've
had
to
take
several
teenagers
to
the
hospital,
so
we're
just
asking
parents
to
do
that
part.
Please.
B
You
know
it's
going
to
be
pretty
crowded
and
the
street
restrictions
have
been
posted.
I
spoke
with
Commissioner
fee
on
daca,
everything's
posted
online
and
as
well.
You
can
see
the
postings
on
BPD
BPD
news.com,
so
thanks
folk,
I'm
gonna.
Thank
you
in
advance.
We've
been
here
before.
So
let's
show
the
rest
of
the
world
again
that
we
on
a
party
responsibly
now
over
the
chief
green
Thank.
C
Good
afternoon,
everyone
thank
you
for
being
here.
Without
you
being
here,
we
wouldn't
be
able
to
properly
get
our
message
out
to
to
the
public.
So,
thanks
again
for
being
here,
the
Transit
Police
Department
is
well
well
experienced
and
prepared
in
special
events
such
as
the
parade
tomorrow.
We
we
encourage
everyone
coming
out
to
utilize
the
public
transportation.
We
will
have
additional
chance-
the
police
officers,
both
uniformed
and
in
plain
clothes
deployed
throughout
the
system,
to
ensure
that
everybody
has
a
safe
travel.
C
We
asked
our
riders
to
act
responsibly
and
be
respectful
to
one
another
and
be
especially
mindful
to
those
with
children.
The
disabilities
in
in
the
elderly,
police,
alcohol
consumption
and
or
unruly
behavior
will
not
be
tolerated
on
the
MBTA,
as
I
said
earlier,
we'll
have
extra
officers
out
there
to
ensure
that
everybody
acts
or
behaves
appropriately.
Currently,
as
the
mayor
said,
that
there
are
no
known,
credible
threats
to
this
event
or
to
the
MBTA
for
that
matter,
but
we'll
continue
to
be
in
contact
with
our
state,
local
and
federal
law
enforcement
partners.
C
Throughout
the
day
as
we
always
do,
we
ask
the
public
to
be
our
extra
set
of
eyes
out
there
in
ears
the
more
eyes
and
ears
out
there.
The
better.
If
you
see
something,
please
say
something:
if
you
feel
yeah,
it
doesn't
matter
how
small
it
is
if
it's
something
that
you
feel
that
we
should
be
alerted
to.
C
Please
contact
us
immediately
if
you
need
further
information
regarding
the
MBTA,
please
visit
the
MBTA
website
at
www.engvid.com
and
you'll
get
the
most
up
to
date,
information
that
you
that
you're
looking
for
so
with
that
being
said,
let's
end
this
season
on
a
high
note,
by
having
a
safe,
a
great,
enjoyable,
Super,
Bowl
parade.
Thank
you.
A
Well,
III
think
that
the
biggest
thing
while
we're
looking
at
such
big
numbers,
tomorrow's,
the
weather,
I,
think
in
the
past
that
we've
had
anywhere
from
500
thousand
to
a
million.
You
know
it's
usually
in
that
range,
depending
on
on
people
coming
in
town
and
the
fact
that
I
think
it's
gonna
be
like
58
to
60
degrees.
Tomorrow,
that's
gonna,
add
potentially
to
more
people
coming
in.
So
we
we
prepare
that
we
don't
and
we
don't
lowball
our
numbers.
A
Yeah,
that's
I,
think
that's
being
resolved,
I
mean
I,
think
I,
think
that
might
be.
That
might
be
I,
think
they
tweet
it
out,
but
I
know
they
tweeted
it
out,
but
I
think
that
they're
working
potentially
with
what
we're
getting
down
to
the
bottom,
with
that
restaurants,
so
they'll,
be
doing
it.
Restaurants,
there's
no
probably
drinking
so
you
can't
you're,
not
gonna,
be
seeing
probably
some
bottles
cans
going
up
and
down
the
parade
route.
Can't
you
can't
do
that.
A
It's
hot
I
mean
I,
you
know
just
you
would
think
after
six
Super
Bowls
in
or
three
Super
Bowls
in
in
four
years.
Those
are
right
there
yeah
three
Super
Bowls
in
for
you
for
five
years,
people
are
not
getting
old,
I
mean
people
are
so
excited,
and
this
team
I
think
I
think
what
happened
here
and
this
team
is
that
you
know
everyone
thought
this
team
was
done.
You
know
to
chew
all
to
slow.
Still
here
motto:
I
think
they
thought
they
were
done
in
this
team.
A
Just
you
know,
I
have
to
say
just
football
wise,
probably
one
of
the
greatest
coaching
jobs
in
the
Israel
football
I
mean
what
what
Belichick
was
able
to
Joe
and
the
defense
was
amazing.
I
mean
the
Patriots.
Defense
doesn't
get
enough
credit
for
what
that
what
they
did.
The
last
in
this
playoff
run.
I
mean
they
really
were
amazing,
so
I
think
part
of
it
is
more
people
coming
out
because
they're
just
not
getting
old
for
people.
D
A
It
was
watch
it
yeah
I
was
rocky
I
mean
you
know
until
about
I
was
never
I
can't
until
until
Sunday
Michelle
Michelle
got
the
touchdown
I
mean
up
at
that
point
it
was
like
it
was
too
tight
for
me
and
for
all
of
us,
I
think
we're
just
kind
of
okay.
Let's
get
a
touchdown,
you.
D
D
E
A
That
was
a
touchdown
and
he
broke
it
up
and
just
it
was
just.
It
was
I
seen
them,
but
they're
all
pretty
pumped
out
last
thing
yeah.
Well,
what's
out
there
Belichick
room
yeah?
Well,
we
have
we
have
we
had
the
Bell
chat
room,
but
we
we
didn't
changes
the
share.
The
ego,
obviously
there's
male
and
female,
Eagles
and
and
female
Eagles
are
stronger
than
me
illegals
and
during
the
during
the
Phillies
game,
the
press
conference.
We
had
it
all
dressed,
stop
the
eagle
and
we
changed
it.
A
E
E
A
Impossible
I
mean
you
have
million
people
on
a
stretch
of
road,
that's
there
and
it's
literally
impossible
to
do
it
unless,
unless
it
happens
right
in
front
of
somebody
and
there's
police
in
the
area.
But
you're
talking
about
you
know
from
if
you
block
to
block,
we
have
police
there,
and
so
we
found
located
to
the
one
turn
the
Red
Sox
parade,
but
we'll
be
monitoring
it
and
if
we
see
public
drinking
will
be
taking,
I
mean
taking
bids
away
from
people,
and
maybe
you
get
arrested.
B
A
Than
a
mile
yeah,
it's
a
vote
now
I
mean
I.
Think
the
Red
Sox
see
the
Red
Sox
parade.
We
did
a
little
different
route.
This
goes
right
down,
Boylston
Street,
so
it
pretty
much
runs
the
whole
time
and
the
fact
that
we're
not
having
a
rally
actually
speeds
it
up
a
bit,
because
when
there's
a
rally
it's
slowed
down,
people
get
off
come
in
sit,
you
know
stage.
City
Hall
for
the
rally,
so
it'll
be
a
little
quicker
parade.
Probably
by
now.
D
A
A
Yeah
I
mean
I,
mean
listen,
I
can't
control
the
players
and
I
was
I.
Think
its
first
of
all.
What
we're
gonna
be
trying
to
control
is,
is
the
fans
and
you
can't
bring
BS
to
the
you
can't
probably
drink,
and
if
you
have
help,
if
you'd,
probably
drinking
you
potentially
could
be
arrested
and
I,
think
that
that's
the
the
biggest
thing
I
can
say
here.
I
mean
and
I
think
that
you
know
I
remember
going
to
the
86
parade.
I
was
young,
a
guy
and
everyone's
partying.
A
It's
a
different
world
today
I
mean
it's
a
lot
different,
we're
not
gonna
tolerate
it.
A
lot
more
families
come
in
are
in
town
now,
and
you
know
we
had
the
incident
last
year
during
the
last.
You
know
a
hundred
days
ago
with
Red
Sox,
so
we'll
knock
on
tolerate
and
we're
asking
players
to.
If
you
have
beers
on
the
truck,
don't
throw
them
out
to
the
fans,
I
mean
it's
just
I
mean
it
goes
both
ways.
I.
E
A
No
snow
and
a
little
colder,
it's
okay!
Now
you
know
I
mean
there's
no
make
snowballs
and
we
have
problems
there.
I
think
you
know
a
little
cold,
Oh
be
alright,
but
I'm
not
gonna,
complain.
I!
Think
that
you
know
I
I
made.
You
know
I
last
time
we're
in
here
they
asked
said
somebody
want
me
going
down
to
the
game
and
I
said
it
could
be
my
last
Super
Ball.
A
All
kinds
of
you
know:
there's
a
joke
about
it,
but
you
just
don't
know
I
mean
you
don't
know
another
phrase:
gonna
come
you
don't
know
and
no
celebration
come
it's
it's
hard.
I
mean
all
the
sports
leagues
that
we
have.
The
four
major
sports
I
mean
it's
very
difficult
to
take
about
this,
to
to
repeat
to
win.
First
of
all
and
then
repeat
and
I,
think
the
Patriots
have
done
it
so
many
times.
It's
just
really
amazing!
It's
it's!
When
you
think
about
what
they've
been
able
to
do
in
this
era.
A
A
Think
that
having
having
the
teams
that
we
have,
what
we're
fortunate
in
this
era,
I
mean
we
talk
about
ien,
kids,
all
the
time,
if
you
were
born,
you
know,
if
you
were
born
in
like
95
I
mean
all
you
know
is
winning,
because
when
you
old
enough
to
watch
the
sports,
are
you
doing
if
you
were
born
in
67?
Wasn't
always
that
way
and
last
questions
thanks?
Everybody.
