From YouTube: National Night Out 2017: Mattapan
Description
Who says cops can't have fun? Residents from across the city joined with police and city officials for fun, food and music during the National Night Out celebration. One stop was Almont Park in Mattapan.
A
A
A
B
B
Can
you
all
join
hands
all
right
all
right?
Let's
bow
our
heads.
You
keep
your
eyes
over
the
outside
father.
We
thank
you
morph,
allowing
us
to
be
here
on
tonight.
We
thank
you
for
this
national
night
out.
We
thank
you
to
God
for
our
mayor.
We
pray
your
choices,
blessings
upon
him
and
his
staff.
We
pray
to
God
that
your
blessing
on
all
the
organizers
Lord
of
this
event
tonight
we
pray
that
you'll
be
with
the
police,
commissioner,
and
all
those
where
they're
standing
up
there
for
our
community
and
protecting
and
serving.
B
B
Among
us,
not
just
Lord
in
this
community,
but
throughout
this
city
we
pray
your
choices
blesses
to
be
upon
this
gathering
and
we
pray
that
you
help
us
Lord
to
be
of
comfort
and
strength
to
those
Lord
whose
hand
we
hold
bless
them
and
make
them
a
blessing
in
respect
to
all
faith
traditions
in
Jesus
name
thank
God
amen.
Thank
you.
Will
dickerson.
A
Next
I
would
like
to
introduce
the
Mayor
of
the
City
of
Boston
emeritus,
give
opportunity
to
a
lot
of
young
people
to
work
in
city
government
in
the
city
of
Boston.
I
know
a
lot
of
people
that
was
thinking
about
moving
out
of
Boston,
but
this
mayor
gave
them
a
chance
to
stay
in
the
city
and
work,
and
it's
a
lot
of
people
that
you
know
serve
the
city
each
day,
because
they
know
the
vision
that
he
has
for
this
city
and
there's
no
other
none
other
than
the
great
mayor.
C
C
National
Night
Out
as
mayor
the
elected
officials,
I
want
to
introduce
behind
me
and
I
was
saying
earlier
to
somebody
one
of
the
best
places
to
come
as
Mattapan
because
of
the
spirit
that's
here
because
of
the
people
most
of
the
people
that
are
sitting
right
here,
they're
the
ones
and
over
here
the
older
people
that
were
here
for
the
owner
homes
of
the
neighborhood
you've
made
this
neighborhood
what
it
is.
So.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
what
you
do
to
all
the
young
people.
C
We
need
to
make
sure
we
work
and
take
care
of
our
older,
the
elders
in
our
community
and
in
this
neighborhood
we've
had
a
lot
of
good
things
happen
in
Mattapan,
we've
seen
over
the
last
couple
weeks,
a
lot
of
people
talking
about
spikes
in
crime
and
all
this
stuff
that's
happening.
But
let
me
just
tell
you
about
Mattapan.
Your
district
b-tree
crime
is
down
19%
in
the
area.
C
Unfortunately,
our
homicides
are
up
true,
but
we
know
the
captain
who's.
Staying
in
the
office
is
a
b-tree
at
work
and
I
make
sure
our
streets
is
safe
and
that
we're
going
to
make
sure
we're
going
to
continue
to
work
to
make
sure
our
streets
are
safe.
I
also
want
to
thank
the
elected
officials
that
are
with
me
here
tonight:
they're,
not
all
going
to
speak
if
they
did
would
be
here
till
3:00
in
the
morning,
but
I
just
want
to
quickly
run
around
the
run
around
the
table.
C
We
got
chief
Willie
cross,
Police
Commission,
it
Billy
Evans,
captain
who
say
deputy
in
our
fashion
I'm
tending
to
do
some
people
I
want
to
say
everybody.
Thank
you.
So
much
tonight
is
about
building
our
relations
up
and
letting
people
know
what
type
of
neighbor
we
have
in
here.
Matapan.
We
have
a
great
neighborhood
in
Mattapan
and
don't
let
anyone
tell
us
that
it's
not
great.
It
is
unbelievable
because
the
people
that
are
here
it's
great
because
you
crews,
we
probably
father
truck
always
here.
Thank
you
Father,
that's
the
Dickerson!
C
D
Thank
You
mr.
Mack
and
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor.
You
know
the
police
department,
we
just
had
a
class
of
56
officers
come
on.
We
have
another
125
next
month,
so
he
gives
us
all
the
offices
and
all
the
support
we
need
so
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
and
I
also
want
to
thank
all
the
community.
We
get
so
much
good
support
from
the
Mattapan
community.
We
really
appreciate
it
obviously
I'd
like
to
thank
captain
Hussain,
who
does
a
great
job
out
here.
D
My
chief
Willie
gloss
all
my
command
staff
that
are
here.
You
know
that
we
work
hard
day
in
and
day
out
to
make
sure
we
respect
and
we
build
trust
in
the
community
and
that's
what
tonight's
all
about
so
I
want
to.
Thank
you.
I
just
want
to
shoutout
to
Reverend
Mike
Scott
who's
here,
who
who's
been
instrumental
in
helping
the
two
trauma:
teams
that
are
12th
the
city
so
mark.
Thank
you
for
all
the
hard
work
you
do,
but
honestly
tonight's
about
all
of
you
in
the
community,
especially
the
elderly.
D
No
one
supports
the
police
more
than
you
do
so
I
want
to
say
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart
and
our
department.
Thank
you
and
thank
you,
the
Mattapan
community,
because
without
you
we
couldn't
make
this
city
what
it
is.
So
thank
you
all
for
coming
out.
I
appreciate
it
and,
with
that
I'm
going
to
insert
it
in
to
introduce
Dan
collie
who
works
hand-in-hand
with
us
to
make
this
city
what
it
is
a
safe
city,
he
made
sure
that
anyone
who's
brought
to
the
court
receives
a
fear,
an
impartial
trial.
E
You,
commissioner,
please
a
nice
round
of
applause
for
our
mayor,
Marty
Walsh,
Police,
Commissioner,
Billy
Evans.
It
really
is
a
great
pleasure
to
work
with
them
to
keep
our
city
as
safe
as
we
could
possibly
keep
it.
I
also
want
to
thank
the
elected
officials
that
are
behind
me,
not
us
every
single
one
of
them,
every
single
one
of
them.
Whenever
I
have
an
opportunity
to
talk
about
crime
and
justice
and
doing
things
better
they
reach
out
to
me
they
talk
to
me.
They
talk
to
the
mayor.
E
They
talk
to
the
police,
commissioner,
so
it's
really
a
team
effort
and
speaking
about
teamwork
and
that's
an
important
core
value
of
my
office.
A
couple
of
our
you
assistant,
das,
that
are
here,
Rob
Connelly,
no
relation
by
the
way
I
wouldn't
hire
my
kid
or
anything
like
that.
So
no
spells
his
name
differently
and
Danielle
Rudolph.
So
please
give
them
a
nice
round
of
applause
they're
over
in
the
Dorchester
Court
and
they're
ready
to
help
you
over
there.
E
If
you
ever
need
their
service,
our
job
is
to
serve
victims,
hold
criminals
accountable
for
their
actions
and
work
together
with
the
police
to
keep
the
neighborhood
as
safe,
as
can
possibly
be
so
I
want
to.
Thank
you
all
for
coming
out
here,
I'd
like
to
echo
the
Reverend
clergy
that
are
here,
Reverend,
Dickerson,
Reverend
Scott.
Thank
you
for
the
work
that
you're
doing
working
with
us
day
in
and
day
out,
and
all
the
clergy
in
this
community
and
I
know
the
father.
Conway
is
out
there
by
the
conway.
E
E
F
G
A
G
Right
and
then
Conan
from
my
brother's
keeper,
hey
Conan,
all
right
and
here's
Leon
from
from
the
Reve
color
Maine's
office,
because
they're
the
ones
who
really
make
us
beat
it
the
great
service
that
we
are
because
they're
there
for
your
phone
calls
as
well
so
want
to
reach
out
to
them.
So
come
on.
Linda,
hello,.
F
Everyone
good
evening,
good
evening,
all
right,
it
is
great
to
be
here.
We
love
Mattapan,
but
we
want
to
thank
our
mayor,
mayor,
Marty,
Walsh
for
being
out
here
this
evening
with
us,
Commissioner
Evans.
You
know,
superintendent
grass
I
mean
everybody
right
and
all
these
incredible
electeds
to
celebrate
Mattapan
and
to
celebrate
all
of
you
all,
because
you
make
this
city
amazing,
and
we
know
that
and
I
want
to
thank
our
captain.
F
Captain
Hussain
for
his
work
and
the
police
b3
come
on,
give
it
up
on
the
officers,
the
men
and
women
of
b3
right
because
they
have
done
so
much
and
when
we
talk
about-
and
we,
if
we
love
all
our
Police
Department's
commissioner,
but
I
gotta
tell
you
will
be
three-
is
pretty
special
right
so
much
they
do
so
much
right
here
in
Mattapan.
They
know
our
young
people
here
in
Mattapan
our
greatest
generation
the
seniors
working
with
our
seniors
here
in
Mattapan.
F
So
we
want
to
thank
the
men
and
women
in
the
police
officers
in
b3
for
all
your
work
and
what
b3
has
done.
It's
National,
Night
Out.
You
know
the
neighborhood
watch
unit
has
given
or
is
recognizing
to
people
this
evening.
Two
groups
for
the
top
crime
watch
group
of
the
Year
award
and
first
okay,
the
first
group,
and
to
receive
the
2017
crime
watch
group
of
the
year
is
the
west
of
Washington
community
group
and
Wow
the
west
of
Washington
hello.
F
Everyone
is
directed
by
Miss
Leticia
Burke,
who
has
lived
in
the
neighborhood
for
approximately
28
years.
West
of
Washington
was
created
to
make
changes
in
their
neighborhoods
in
regards
to
violence,
cleanliness,
traffic
issues
and
different
unlawful
behaviors
Wow
meets
monthly
and
flyers.
The
neighborhood
creating
a
quarterly
newspaper
newsletter
containing
information
that
directly
impacts
children's
and
families
in
our
great
state
in
our
great
city.
So
I
want
to
thank
you
all
I'm
going
to
present
this
on
behalf
of
b3.
F
G
G
So
Maris
tell
our
start
to
read
this
as
they're
coming
up.
She
grew
up
in
Rio
de
Janeiro
Brazil
see
since
their
humble
beginnings
as
an
inspiration
for
giving
to
glam
the
long
and
short
of
it
is
that
in
2014
she
thought
it
would
be
a
great
idea
to
take
her
career,
which
was
in
fashion
and
then
take
it.
So
the
folks
who
were
in
need
to
be
able
to
go
out
and
go
to
the
proms
and
things
of
that
nature.
G
She
started
with
one
person
to
get
him
glammed
and
all
dressed
out,
and
now
she
this
year
got
up
to
80
people,
and
so
these
are
the
folks
that
she's
helping
that
helps
her.
She
had
one
school
this
year
that
Ashley
had
32
students
all
at
one
time
on
one
night,
and
so
what
what
we
want
to
do
is
we
want
to
recognize
her
for
her
community
service
award
and
congratulate
her
in
the
entire
team.
Come
on
up
mayor
come
on
up,
commissioner.
A
B
G
F
We
want
to
present
it
to
all
of
you
in
giving
the
glam
how
incredible
right,
working
with
our
young
people,
who
may
not
have
the
opportunity
to
get
glammed
up
for
prom,
and
she
said
that
marriage
stylist
stepped
up
and
said
in
2014.
She
had
a
vision
and
she's
working
with
young
people
from
our
great
city
and
working
with
our
police
department
might
and
be
three
and
where
is
right
and
pale
in
captain
Hussein
to
figure
out
who
are
the
kids
in
Mattapan?
F
F
G
H
Know
I
am
a
big
believer
in
giving
back
and
for
all
the
kids
that
are
being
helped
over
almost
300
kids,
censer
2014.
One
thing
I
always
ask
them
in
the
day
of
the
prom
is
the
last
days
that
we
see
them
is
please,
whatever
you
becoming
life,
remember
when
you
come
from
and
make
a
difference
and
it's
a
pleasure
to
work
with
the
officers
and
together
we
do
make
a
difference
and
wish
you
all
be
like
that.
Thank
you
so
much
for
this
opportunity.
