A
And
welcome
to
the
ruggle
street
reconstruction
project
pre-construction
meeting.
My
name
is
zach
wasmuth
from
the
boston
public
works
department,
and
I
will
be
leading
a
brief
presentation
about
the
project
tonight.
After
several
years
of
discussing
this
project
with
the
community,
we
are
excited
to
reach
the
significant
milestone
with
construction
starting
this
summer.
A
Before
we
begin
tonight's
presentation,
we
wanted
to
briefly
review
some
of
the
zoom
features
that
will
be
helpful
to
facilitate
this
virtual
meeting.
At
this
point,
all
participants
on
the
call
are
muted.
The
meeting
facilitator
can
unmute
you.
If
you
wish
to
ask
a
question
after
you
raise
your
hand,
the
video
icon
turns
your
camera
on
and
off
to
send
us
a
chat.
Please
click
the
chat
button
to
raise
your
hand,
click
on
reactions
and
click,
the
hand
button.
A
If
you
would
like
to
ask
a
question,
you
can
either
send
us
a
chat
message
at
any
time
during
the
presentation
or
raise
your
virtual
hand
after
the
presentation,
at
which
point
the
moderator
will
announce
your
name
and
unmute
your
microphone.
The
presentation
is
being
recorded
and
will
be
posted
on
the
project
webpage.
A
Corridor
here,
you'll
see
a
recap
of
the
public
meetings
that
we
have
had
as
the
design
was
developed.
Public
works
hosted
five
meetings
on
the
project
and
one
walking
tour
where
we
received
public
input
on
the
design.
Again,
we
want
to
thank
all
those
who
participated
in
the
design
process
dating
back
to
2018..
A
A
The
following
slides
review,
the
main
elements
of
the
project
design
to
get
yourselves
oriented.
The
ruggles
t-stop
is
here
northeastern
university.
International
village
is
here,
tremont
street
is
here,
and
this,
of
course,
is
ruggle
street
working
from
left
to
right,
we'll
be
providing
an
on-street
bicycle
connection
to
the
southwest
corridor
path
in
a
pedestrian
bicycle
crossing
across
tremont
street.
A
There
will
be
new
sidewalks
ornamental
street
lights
and
street
trees
along
both
sides
of
ruggle
street.
On
this
section
of
ruggle
street,
the
sidewalk
on
the
north
side
of
the
street
will
be
widened
at
rainer
circle.
The
intersection
will
be
raised
to
calm
traffic
and
enhance
safety
for
the
pedestrian
crossing.
A
A
This
slide
shows
the
section
of
ruggle
street
adjacent
to
madison
park
and
the
dewitt
playground.
The
dewitt
center
is
here.
The
smith
house
is
here
and
haynes
house
is
here
again
along
this
section
of
ruggle
street.
There
will
be
new
sidewalks
street
trees
and
street
lights
on
both
sides
of
the
street.
There
will
be
bicycle
lanes
in
both
directions.
A
The
bus
stop
at
the
park
will
remain
and
there
will
be
a
new
crosswalk
from
sojourner
truth
court
to
the
dewitt
playground
like
at
rainer
circle.
On
the
previous
slide,
the
intersection
of
ruggle
street
and
dewitt
drive
will
be
a
raised
intersection
between
shaman
avenue
and
dewitt
drive.
There
will
be
a
protected
bicycle
lane
in
the
contra
flow
direction,
against
traffic
heading
westbound
and
a
shared
lane
for
both
cars
and
bikes
in
the
eastbound
direction.
A
On
this
last
section
of
ruggle
street
approaching
washington
street,
there
will
be
new
sidewalks
street
trees
and
lighting
consistent
with
the
rest
of
the
street.
Two-Way
traffic
flow
will
be
maintained,
a
bike
lane
in
the
westbound
direction
will
be
added
and
a
shared
lane
for
both
cars
and
bikes
will
be
provided
in
the
eastbound
direction.
A
There
are
several
updates
to
insane
enhanced
safety
at
the
washington
street
intersection.
There
will
be
a
raised
crosswalk
across
vargo
street
and
a
curb
extension
along
washington
street
to
improve
the
pedestrian
crossing
safety.
Here.
The
bus
stop
will
be
relocated
slightly
to
the
north.
There
will
be
new
crosswalks
with
a
lighted,
pedestrian
warning
signs
and
don't
block
the
box
striping.
A
Throughout
the
design
process,
we
had
also
discussed
the
integration
of
public
art
along
rumble
street,
just
to
provide
a
quick
update.
We
are
pleased
to
announce
that
the
boston
art
commission
has
selected
an
artist
jenny,
saban
studio
to
begin
working
on
the
streetscape
art
design
for
ruggle
street
examples
of
the
artist's
work
are
shown
in
the
slide.
A
A
Project
some
of
you
may
have
had
the
pleasure
of
meeting
with
the
play
team
earlier
at
their
on-site
pop-up
in
april,
or
the
virtual
community
meeting
that
they
hosted
earlier
this
month
or
last
month
the
lead
artist,
marlon
forrester
and
his
partners
studio.
Luz
architects
will
be
presenting
their
preliminary
designs
to
the
boston
art
commission
on
june,
8th
at
4
pm.
The
meeting
is
on
zoom
and
the
public
are
welcome
to
attend
and
offer
a
comment
about
the
proposal.
A
Sarah
rodrigo
from
the
boston
arts
commission
will
put
some
links
in
the
chat
for
the
meeting.
If
you'd
like
to
find
out
more
information
about
the
project,
links
are
also
provided
on
the
slide.
The
art
commission
will
also
be
announcing
a
new
call
to
artists
for
the
public
art
at
the
vermont
street
and
ruggle
street
intersection
this
summer.
A
A
Everything
is
starting
to
come
together
and
we
are
excited
about
kicking
off
this
roadway
reconstruction
project,
but
we
know
that
it
can
be
a
disruption
to
your
daily
life
in
terms
of
the
schedule.
The
ruggle
street
project
is
currently
anticipated
to
start
construction
this
july
and
to
be
completed
in
the
fall
of
next
year.
2022,
we
anticipate
a
period
in
the
winter
with
lighter
work
depending
on
the
weather.
A
A
Here's
a
quick
rundown
of
what
to
expect
during
the
construction
process
during
construction,
an
accessible
route
for
pedestrians
will
be
maintained
at
all
times.
This
will
likely
involve
alternating
the
pedestrian
route
to
one
side
of
the
street,
while
the
sidewalk
on
the
other
side
of
the
street
is
being
constructed,
access
to
homes,
the
church,
dewitt
center,
the
park
etc
will
all
be
maintained.
A
Trash
pickup
will
continue
the
city
and
our
contract
will
accommodate
moving
deliveries,
etc.
During
construction
transit
services
on
the
mbta
bus
will
be
maintained,
the
stops
will
need
to
be
temporarily
located
at
times.
Look
for
postings,
which
will
take
place
48
hours
in
advance
of
the
change
on
street
parking
will
be
restricted
in
construction
areas,
again,
look
for
the
postings
48
hours
in
advance.
A
A
A
A
At
this
time,
we'll
now
open
the
meeting
up
for
questions.
Please
raise
your
digital
hand
to
ask
a
question
or
send
us
a
chat,
and
we
can
start
the
discussion.
We
will
post
the
presentation
from
tonight's
meeting
on
our
project
website.
My
contact
information
is
also
provided
here.
Should
you
have
any
follow-up
questions
after
the
meeting?
Thank
you
for
coming
out.
E
Thanks
zach
and
just
a
reminder
to
folks,
if
you
do
have
a
question,
please
raise
your
virtual
hand
and
and
I'll
go
ahead
and
unmute
you
with
and
we'll
get
your
your
question
answered.
A
E
A
Oh
okay,
I'm
not
sure
that's
been
decided
yet,
but
I'll
ask.
I
know
danny
and
bob
are
on
from
our
construction
management
section.
Do
you
have
a
sense
of
where
they
might
be
starting
and
I
don't
know
joe,
can
you
unmute
bob
and
danny.
C
F
A
So
when
you
say
the
water
and
sewer
items
you
mean
like
you're,
gonna
kind
of
go
down
the
corridor
and
put
in
like
the
drainage
stuff
and
that
type
of
thing
danny,
correct
you
throughout
the
whole
corridor
and
then
probably
you'll,
come
back
and
then
get
into
the
more
like
the
sidewalk
stuff
and
stuff
a
little
bit
later.
Yes,
okay,
cool.
B
B
A
A
And
I'll
also
announce,
obviously
we'll
have
the
groundbreaking.
We
encourage
you,
you,
folks,
to
to
come
I'll
I'll,
send
out
a
I'll,
be
we'll
be
sending
out
a
formal
invitation
about
that.
You.
C
A
Through
our
channels
and
everything
we
also
have,
I'm
sure
you
saw
with
the
invite
on
this
that
we'll
have
our
our
outdoor
pop-up
event
this
saturday,
so
we'll
be
out
in
front
of
the
whip
playground
the
same
place
where
the
groundbreaking
ceremony
is
going
to
be
taking
place
at
dewitt
and
ruggles
on
saturday,
basically
discussing
the
same
content,
we'll
have
some
boards
that
talk
about
the
design
and
some
of
the
impacts
to
construction.
E
Time
there's
a
question
about.
Basically
thank
you
for
the
presentation.
Will
the
slides
be
available
in
other
languages.
A
We're
going
to
post
the
presentation
online
with
the
with
the
spanish
translation.
We
don't
currently
have
them
the
the
slides
fully
in
spanish.
Yet,
but
that's
something
that
we
can
definitely
look
into
so
yeah.
We
can.
We
can
look
into
that.
We
might
not
have
that
right
away,
but
that's
something
we
can.
We
can
check
on
sure.
A
Yep
that'll
be
up
right
away
as
soon
as
you
guys
get
it
to
me.
I
can
post
it.
Hopefully
we
can
get
that
up.
I
don't
want
to
make
any
promises
with
rit
department,
but
but
hopefully
hopefully
we
can
get
it
by
the
end
of
this
week,
if
not
early
next
week.
We
should
have
that
up
on
there.
A
And
javier
just
asked:
will
parking
on
ruggle
street
be
closed,
I'll
I'll,
take
a
stab
at
it,
and
danny
bob
feel
free
to
chime
in
we'll
we'll
try
to
keep
the
parking
restrictions
on
ruggle
street
within
you
know
manageable
sections
so
like
where
we're
working.
It
won't
necessarily
restrict
parking
like
for
the
whole
street,
but
there
will
be
sections
of
that.
A
We'll
need
to
restrict
parking
on
from
time
to
time
and,
as
you
said
on
the
previous
slide,
we'll
typically
fly
our
at
least
48
hours
notice
to
let
folks
know
on
that,
but
I
don't
I
I
don't
danny
correct
me
from.
I
don't
anticipate
like
a
full.
You
know
removal
of
parking
on
the
street
at
any
point
in
time.
It'll
just
be
kind
of
in
the
sections
where
we're
working
right.
A
F
Yeah,
I
I
figure
at
no
point
in
time.
Should
everything
be
taken
up?
We're
gonna
allow
parking
when
the
game
is
safe
and
appropriate
by
the
way,
so
the
whole
street
should
not
be
taken
over.
E
Zach,
it
does
look
like
we
have
a
question.
It
looks
like
emmanuel
has
raised
your
hand
manuel
if
you
want
to
I'll
unmute
you.
If
you
do
have
a
question,
you
want
to
ask.
G
Oh,
thank
you.
Are
you
able
to
go
back
to
the
construction
timeline.
C
G
Yeah,
this
is
pretty
good.
Will
it
be
able
to
have
like
something
like
this
out
in
the
public,
so
everyone
would
know
like
when
the
construction
timeline
is.
A
Well,
you
know
we
had
this
meeting
so
that
we're
letting
people
know
and
we'll
have
the
pop-up.
We
don't
necessarily
have
anything
like
I
mean
we'll
be
flyering
the
neighborhood
in
general.
Just
to
like,
let's
specifically
know,
you
know,
as
I
mentioned,
with
the
parking
and
everything
48
hours
in
advance,
but
this
is
sort
of
what
what's
planned
and
I
can
definitely
you
know
through
our
channels
and
everything,
communicate,
updates
and
everything
on
the
project.
Is
there
something
more
that
you
were?
G
Just
feel
like,
since
it
is
starting
this
summer,
some
people
might
not
know
like
the
exact
date
so
like
I'm
having
like
just
a
sign
of
different
like
the
timeline
really
so
people
know
like
oh,
this
is
gonna
pop
up
next
month
and
also
like.
I
would
still
like
any
like
information
for
anyone
in
the
office,
so
everybody
can
contact
on
you
all
if
they
need
to
sure.
A
There's
some
signs
out
there
right
now
announcing
this,
but
yeah
we
can
work
on
that
to
figure
out.
Maybe
we
can
put
some
other
couple
signs
out
there.
In
addition
to
that,
that's
a
good
suggestion.
Thank
you,
you're
welcome.
Thank
you.
A
I
think
there
was
a
question
about
the
one
way
on,
but
jeff
answered
the
question
about
whether
whether
the
street
was
going
to
be
remain
one
way
and
jeff
just
answered
it.
Rebel
street
will
remain
one
way
between
tremont
and
shamat
and
will
and
will
remain
two-way
between
chama
and
washington
street.
So
no
changes
in
the
in
in
the
current
direction
of
the.
C
A
I
don't
think
anybody
is
raising
their
hand.
I
don't
jeff,
there's
nothing
else
in
the
chat.
I
don't
think
right.
D
No
nothing
else
in
the
chat.
Everything
to
say
thank
you.
So
thank
you
to
erica
so
good
to
hear
good
design
looks
good.
A
Thank
you
for
the
good
news.
We
appreciate
that
yeah
no,
and
thank
you
for
for
coming
out
and
yeah
again.
If
yeah,
if
you
don't
have
a
question
right
now,
certainly
you
know
again,
you
can
come
to
the
the
project
website
and
again
my
contact
information
was
on
the
the
other
slide.
We
definitely
take
your
suggestions
about
the
the
spanish
slides
and
the
and
the
signage
about
construction.
We
could.
We
can
look
into
that
to
see
if
we
can
get
a
little
more
notice,
because
communication
is
obviously
key.
A
That's
why
we
wanted
to
have
this
meeting
so
that
we
could.
We
could
inform
you
and
that's
why
we
want
to
have
the
meeting
on
saturday
so
again,
yeah,
if
you
think
of
something
you
want
and
you're
around
saturday,
and
you
want
to
stop
by
it's
going
to
be
a
beautiful
day,
we'll
be
out
in
the
sun.
Hopefully
maybe
some
shade,
but
yeah
we'll
be
out
there.
If
you,
if
you
have
any
other
questions,
come
up
and
anything
but
yeah
feel
free
to
visit
the
project
website
shoot
me
an
email.
A
Give
me
a
call
if
you
have
any
questions
after
this
and
yeah.
If
there's
no,
if
there's
no
further
questions,
then
we
can
go
ahead
and
wrap
up
and
everybody
can
enjoy
the
enjoy
the
beautiful
evening.
