From YouTube: 2nd Annual Recovery High School Day
Description
UMass Boston hosted the 2nd Annual Recovery High School Day, which celebrates Massachusetts' recovery high schools and UMass Boston's collegiate recovery community.
A
A
On
behalf
of
University
Health
Services
in
the
Division
of
Student,
Affairs,
I
would
like
to
thank
you
also
being
here.
I
would
like
to
just
a
special
thanks
to
Chancellor
motley
and
for
real
well
for
joining
us
here
today
and
I
want
to
acknowledge
the
efforts
of
our
community
of
photography
program
here
on
campus,
without
whom
this
event
is
not
an
impossible.
A
Collegiate
recovery
program
is
a
supportive
environment
in
the
campus
culture
that
reinforces
the
decision
to
disengage
from
addictive
behavior.
It
provides
an
educational
opportunities
alongside
recovery,
support
to
ensure
that
students
do
not
have
to
make
do
not
have
to
sacrifice
one
for
the
other,
and
we
are
very
proud
of
your
event-
welcome
to
be
a
part
of
a
growing
number
of
collegiate
recovery
partners
across
the
country.
A
This
partnership
here
is
evidence
of
our
determination
and
commitment
to
build
bridges
between
our
Massachusetts
recovery.
High
schools
in
umass,
boston
and
reserve
leads
today
that
four
out
of
our
five
massachusetts
recovery,
high
schools
were
able
to
attend
today.
The
fort
here
is
from
Chancellor
motley
and
for
mayor
Walsh.
I
want
to
take
a
moment
to
review
our
progress
in
the
last
year,
Tori
growing
our
recovery
support
programs
and
our
salute
coverage,
support
communities,
Frank
singing
the
resources
available
to
our
heart
experiences
and
to
those
students
who
may
choose
UMass
Boston
in
the
future.
A
A
In
the
last
year,
we've
been
able
to
increase
the
capacity
of
the
program
and
never
often
the
support
that
we're
offering,
because
we've
had
a
thousand
within
our
laws.
Amount
of
program
and
I
want
to
acknowledge
the
status
because
of
the
essence
of
our
relatively
new
executive
director
in
the
University
Health
Services
Robert
somalis
who
joined
us
welcome
two
years
ago
and
within
a
very
short
period
of
time,
recognizing
the
fact
that
he's
worked
out
to
be
the
work
that
needed
to
be
done.
A
A
Year
we
started
our
republic
task
force,
which
is
a
task
force
composed
of
alumni
of
staff
and
students
and
of
individuals
who
have
more
than
one
of
those
identities.
Our
weekly
student
on
recovery
meeting
on
campus
has
continued
with
our
membership
growing
to
over
with
tons
of
students
that
I
had
116
but
had
to
cross
that
out,
because
in
that
very
day
that
I
selected
it
increased
to
117.
A
Our
undergraduate
students
have
become
submitted,
an
application
for
recognition
as
a
student
club,
which
is
just
completed
last
week
raised
or
one
of
the
members
of
our
community
was
nominated
and
received
their
2016
beacon
leadership
award
for
his
contributions.
Building
a
community
recovery
on
campus
and
the
campus
transformer
award.
B
A
We
partners
in
the
mail
that
very
offensive
recovery
services
to
increase
opportunities
for
collaboration
and
for
community
service
for
our
our
our
collegiate
recovery
community
outside
of
the
walls
of
UMass
Boston,
Lena,
abella
class
of
2016,
has
remained
engaged,
has
a
last
legion
recovery,
statewide,
meaning
she
represented
students
and
under
a
half
the
decay
that
has
as
of
today.
She
is
applied
for
graduate
studies
and
I'm
sure
it
started
in
the
fall
in
the
master's
program
in
rehabilitation,
counseling,
Christian,
Arthur's
classes,
2015.
A
A
Level
of
last
April
presented
of
the
mask
on
conference
for
these
associations,
possibly
higher
education,
specifically
on
working
with
your
recovery.
High
schools
presented
with
my
colleague
from
the
University
of
Texas
at
Austin
and
then
later
in
news,
Roger
officer
from
the
Octagon
presented
similar
workshop
at
the
15th
16th
annual
conference
of
the
same
organization
that
represented
high
schools
and
Andi
Emma
home
again,
was
featured
in
the
in
a
video
that
was
shown
at
the
conference
of
mayors
for
her
role
as
a
collegiate.
B
A
We
also
joins
a
negotiation
for
higher
risk
for
recovery,
higher
education
and,
as
you
can
see
from
this
slide,
enjoying
a
pretty
impressive
list
of
university
to
work
for
engaging
in
this
very
important
work
in
the
upcoming
year.
Some
of
the
things
that
we're
looking
at
is
hopefully
obtaining
dedicated
space
on
campus,
establishing
a
scholarship
for
students,
leaving
a
recovery
high
school
and
Massachusetts
to
choose
to
come
to
Boston.
The
students
become
ms
Lawson,
who
is
demonstrated
leadership
at
their
recovery,
high
schools.
That
is
one
of
our
on
our
wish
list
to.
A
A
The
foundation
of
backbone,
you
know,
of
our
recovery,
Support
Program
is
the
network
of
individuals
in
recovery,
as
well
as
allies.
Here
on
campus,
when
a
student
resent
to
me,
I
need
to
be
able
to
pass
that
signal.
Laws
were
mills
really
member
of
our
economy,
community.
For
the
last
several
years,
number
one
person
in
that
Network
has
been
reborn
I,
always
known
that
what
I
reached
separated
asked
him
to
reach
out
to
a
new
student
member
if
he
would
do
so
and
usually
within
a
matter
of
minutes-
and
that
is
not
an
exaggeration.
A
B
A
On
campus
is
grown
and
I
know
that
I
have
now
have
additional
people
that
I
can
count
on.
Many
of
them
are
here
today
and
some
of
them
I
think
probably
mentally
parents
house
tours
passed
to
them
community
support.
This
is
what
we
have
here
depends
on
people
like
Ray
and
in
honor
the
contributions
we
have
created,
an
award
called
the
torch
award
for
the
torch
that
Houston
cameras
allow
several
years.
This.
A
Honoring
students
from
our
community
was
demonstrated
exceptional
leadership
in
creating
and
sustaining
and
community
of
recovery
on
Canada
ray
on
behalf
of
recovery,
a
new
indeed
in
the
community
that
you
have
helped
to
create.
Please
accept
this
reward
of
the
temple
Atomics
more
appreciated
and
how
much
we
will
make
you.
A
B
A
B
B
It
all
that
is
the
coral
I've
waited
on
my
the
new
discharge,
but
I'm
not
really
a
job,
because
everybody
here
is
someone
who
is
something
special
display.
Note
that
this
university
wonders
and
hanging
out
today,
it's
Vincent's
about
last
day
before
face.
This
is
a
thing
that
some
people,
all
the
lovin
full
of
things,
but
your
public
universe
a
long
way
and.
B
There's
a
diploma
bleep
regardless
of
what
year
did
you
think
was
back,
but
also
both
of
you.
If
you
think
whatever
it
is
that
you
want
to
do
now.
That
is
a
real,
especially
because
all
of
us
cake
table
eyes
or
some
point
in
this
process,
I'm
still
trying
to
figure
out
what
I
want
to
do.
The
rest
of
my
life,
people
watching
beyond
times
begins
with
punching
so
grateful
nation
so
successful
in
the
area.
B
You
help
transform
your
life,
then
that's
that
other
thing
that
I
wanted
to
do
with
my
life.
We
connect
with
you
to
make
sure
you
go
to
be
welcome
you
and
make
sure
you
know
that
an
equation
e
like
this
for
a
hundred
thousand
people
are
setting
the
areas
of
opportunity
goes
to
learn.
The
word
with
you
choose
a
distributed
amazing
thing,
so
we're
a
face
that
won't
ever
forget
that
all
those
days
when
you.
