From YouTube: Boston City Hall Rally Against Sexual Assault
Description
In anticipation for Senator Jeff Flake's visit to City Hall, Mayor Walsh, Senator Ed Markey, Congresswoman elect Ayanna Pressley, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gathered alongside hundreds of protesters to speak out against sexual assault. This protest formed in the wake of Brett Kavanaugh's hearings in which he was accused of sexual assault against Dr. Christine Baisley Ford.
A
A
A
A
A
A
You're
gonna
hear
from
quite
a
few
elected
officials
today,
but
there
are
some
here
that
I
just
want
to
give
a
special
shout
out
there
in
the
crowd:
senator
Browns,
burger
representative
Michael,
it's
rep
roader
rep,
Conley,
councillor,
Matt
O'malley,
the
city
council,
president
councillors,
a
cone
councillor,
Jamie
councillor,
woo
quittin,
Palfrey,
who's
running
for
lieutenant
governor.
Thank
you
all
for
standing
with
us
today,
I'm,
so
grateful.
B
A
Elected
officials
you're
going
to
hear
from
survivors
today
you're
going
to
hear
from
nonprofit
organizations,
but
it's
the
students
who
lit
the
fire.
They
are
the
next
generation
you'll
hear
from
them
at
the
close
of
this
program.
It
is
my
great
pleasure
to
turn
this
over
to
Jen
childs
rochev,
the
president
of
Planned
Parenthood
League
of
Massachusetts.
C
Well,
thank
you,
Becca
and
thank
you
to
all
of
our
coalition
partners.
Survivors
mayor,
Walsh
are
elected,
other
elected
officials
and
everyone
who
is
here
with
us
this
morning
watching
last
week's
events.
Unfold
has
been
disturbing
to
say
the
least,
and
after
witnessing
Thursday's
hearing
it's
clear
to
everyone
here
today
that
the
White
House
and
Senators,
like
Jeff
Flake,
continue
to
advance
this
nomination.
They
will
compromise
the
integrity
of
the
Supreme
Court
and,
let's
not
forget,
Kavanaugh,
was
nominated
with
the
promise
of
overturning
roe
v
wade.
C
C
And
in
Washington,
DC
and
all
across
the
country
survivors
are
outraged
and
want
their
Senators
to
know
that
a
vote
to
confirm
Kavanagh
is
a
vote
against
the
right
to
safe
and
legal
abortion.
A
vote
against
those
who
access
health
care
through
the
Affordable,
Care
Act
and
a
vote
to
ignore
survivors
Kavanagh
cannot
be
put
into
a
position
where
he
gets
to
determine
the
health
and
constitutional
rights
of
women
for
generations.
D
Hello
good
morning,
everyone
and
thank
you
so
much
for
being
here:
I'm
Carol
Rose,
the
executive
director
of
the
ACLU
of
Massachusetts
and
I'm
so
proud
to
stand
here
with
naval,
pro-choice,
Massachusetts,
Planned,
Parenthood
of
Massachusetts
survivors
of
sexual
assault
and
all
people
who
care
about
the
integrity
of
our
democracy
in
our
judicial
system.
That's
all
of
you
and
we
say
Cavill
what
keva
know
Keva
know.
D
Kaveh
know
we
heard
those
of
us
who
watched
those
bruising
hearings
last
week
came
away
on
one
hand.
We
had
dr.
Ford,
an
incredibly
credible
person,
testifying
against
Brett
Kavanaugh,
who
is
simply
unhinged
in
his
testimony.
He
showed
us
that's
right,
he'd
assembled,
he
lied,
he
misled.
He
showed
that
he
was
partisan.
He
showed
that
he
lacked
any
ounce
of
judicial
temperament
and
he
showed
that
he
is
simply
not
fit
to
serve
on
the
highest
court
in
the
land.
D
No
one
has
a
right.
No
one
has
a
right
to
sit
on
the
US,
Supreme,
Court
and
yet
Brett
Kavanaugh
seemed
to
think
or
act
as
though
he
believed
somehow
he
had
a
right
to
do
so
and
we
know
better,
and
why
do
we
know
because
we
at
the
ACLU
are
in
the
courts
day
in
and
day
out,
defending
the
real
lives
of
real
people
in
their
rights?
D
And
just
last
year,
when
the
ACLU
represented
a
young
woman,
Jane
Doe,
an
unaccompanied
minor
who
came
into
our
country
and
was
locked
up
in
detention,
she
found
out,
she
was
pregnant
and
she
wanted
to
exercise
her
legal
right
to
get
an
abortion
and
terminate
that
pregnancy.
The
ACLU
represented
her
so
that
she
could
get
out
of
detention
and
get
that
abortion
and
who
stood
in
the
way
judge
Kavanagh
in
a
that's
right,
cavil
what
Kappa
Kappa
Kappa.
D
Thank
you.
So
we
know
that
and
here's
what
the
dissent
in
that
opinion
wrote
a
woman
judge.
Just
saying:
Patricia
Millett
wrote
that
judge
Cavanaugh
s
decision
would
sacrifice
the
seventeen-year-old
constitutional
liberty,
autonomy
and
personal
dignity
for
no
justifiable
government
reason.
Now
the
ACLU
appealed
that
judge
Cavanaugh's
ruling
to
the
full
court
and
we
overturned
that
horrible
ruling.
D
But
if
he
gets
on
the
highest
court
in
the
land,
the
net
ruling
becomes
the
law
of
the
land,
and
that's
why
we
say
no
to
judge
Cavanaugh,
but
our
victory
is
a
reminder
that
when
we
stand
together
and
when
we
fight
we
win,
and
so
we
will
stand
together
to
say
no
on
Brett
Kavanaugh
he's
not
worthy
of
emotion.
A
judge
who's
under
investigation
nominated
by
a
president
who
is
under
investigation
should
not
be
confirmed.
Thank
you.
D
Now.
It
is
my
distinct
pleasure
to
invite
to
the
podium
a
senator
who
has
been
on
the
frontlines
fighting
for
women's
reproductive
freedom
and
fighting
against
the
confirmation
of
Brett
Kavanaugh
from
the
very
beginning.
He
didn't
need
to
change
his
mind.
He
was
right
there
where
he
should
have
been
the
whole
time
as
he
so
often
is.
Please
join
me
in
welcoming
senator
Edie
Markey
to
the
stage.
E
Thank
You
Carol
Thank,
You
ACLU.
Thank
you,
Planned
Parenthood,
Thank,
You,
mayor
all
for
putting
together
this
incredibly
important
rally
on
very
short
notice.
Thank
you
to
the
greatest
mayor
in
the
United
States,
mighty
walls
for
hosting
this
event.
Today,
and,
most
importantly,
most
importantly,
thank
you
to
all
of
the
survivors
who
have
stepped
forward
courageously
to
tell
their
stories
to
act
in
the
same
way
that
dr.
de
Blasio
Ward
acha
to
give
all
of
us
the
stories
and
to
give
us
the
courage
to
stand
with
them.
E
We
thank
the
survivors
for
standing,
so
we
thank
all
of
you
for
being
here.
We
are
Massachusetts.
We
are
the
revolutionaries.
This
is
where
the
abolitionist
movement
started.
This
is
where
the
Suffragette
movement
started.
This
is
where
the
affordable
care
act
movements
on
it.
This
is
where
the
gay
marriage
movement
started.
This
is
where
the
revolution
starts.
To
say:
Brett
Kavanaugh
will
not
serve
on
the
Supreme
Court
of
the
United
States
of
America,
and
we
we
stand
here
today
to
say
we
believe
dr.
Blasi
Ford.
E
We
believe
that
she
is
telling
the
truth,
because
it
was
hard
for
her,
but
she
did
our
country
and
invaluable
service
by
coming
forward
by
testifying
before
the
United,
States
Senate
and
telling
the
entire
country
her
story
about
Judge
Brett
Kavanaugh
I
applaud
her
for
her
courage.
We
owe
her
a
deep
debt
of
gratitude.
She
was
a.
E
E
She
was
compelling
she
was
convincing.
She
was
courageous,
she
had
nothing
to
gain
and
she
had
everything
to
lose,
but
she
courageously
stepped
forward
to
tell
her
story
and
now
other
people
are
telling
their
stories
about
their
relationships
with
Brett
Kavanaugh.
So,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
no
reasonable,
open-minded
person
could
conclude
anything
other
than
that
dr.
Blasi
Ford
is
telling
the
truth
about
what
happened
between
her
and
Brett
Kavanaugh
I
believe
her
I
believe
dr.
Ford.
But
what
about
the
other
side
of
the
story?
What
about
Judge
Cavanaugh?
E
After
we
heard
dr.
Ford?
It
was
Judge
Cavanaugh's
turn,
and
what
did
we
hear?
We
heard
anger.
We
heard
belligerents,
we
heard
evasive
Ness,
we
heard
disrespect
for
dr.
Ford
and
her
story
judge
Cavanaugh's
evasive.
This
was
surpassed
only
by
his
lack
of
credibility
and
his
lack
of
credibility
was
surpassed
only
by
his
lack
of
judicial
temperament
judge.
E
Judge
Cavanaugh
showed
exactly
the
kind
of
temperament
that
we
do
not
want
in
a
justice
on
our
nation's
top
court
judge
Cavanaugh
displayed
the
kind
of
behavior
that
you
expect
to
see
from
a
judge
on
the
people's
court,
not
on
the
Supreme
Court
of
the
United
States
Brett
Kavanaugh
is
not
entitled
to
a
job
on
the
Supreme
Court.
No
one
is
entitled
to
a
job
on
the
Supreme
Court,
but
the
American
people
are
always
entitled
to
the
truth
about
who
is
about
to
serve
on
the
Supreme
Court.
E
Let
us
get
the
truth,
the
whole
truth
and
nothing
but
the
truth
about
Judge
Cavanaugh
and
his
worthiness
to
serve
on
the
Supreme
Court.
Let
us
have
the
FBI
have
an
investigation
with
no
duration
limit
and
no
Dora
and
no
scope
of
Investigation.
The
FBI
must
be
entitled
to
the
right
to
have
a
fair,
a
complete
and
a
total
investigation
of
Brett
Kavanaugh
and
all
of
the
other
accusers
who
are
now
coming
forward.
Sexual
assault
has
no
time
limit
in
terms
of
our
ability
to
know
about
what
happened,
to
not
only
dr.
E
Ford
but
anyone
else
who
was
abused
by
Brett
Kavanaugh.
These
women
have
courage;
they
are
now
standing
up.
It
is
something
that
they
have
repressed
for
years,
but
because
of
you,
because
of
people
all
across
this
country,
they
are
now
standing
up.
We
do
not
want
to
justice
on
the
Supreme
Court,
like
Brett
Kavanaugh
I,
said
justice
on
the
Supreme
Court,
who
could
overturn
roe
versus
wade
of
justice
on
the
Supreme
Court,
who
could
repeal
the
right
to
have
health
care
for
pre-existing
conditions?
The
consequence
of
having
Brett
Kavanaugh
on
the
Supreme
Court
is
catastrophic.
E
So,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
Donald
Trump
has
his
men.
The
Republicans
have
their
men,
but
Brett
Kavanaugh
is
not
my
man,
and
he
is
not
your
man
for
the
Supreme
Court.
We
have
to
ensure
that
we
organize
that
we
raise
our
voices
that
we
ensure
that
in
this
next
week,
that
there
is
a
wave
across
this
country
that
says
overwhelmingly,
we
do
not
want
Brett
Kavanaugh
on
the
Supreme
Court
of
the
United
States
of
America.
This
is
a
fight
for
the
generations
of
women
who
are
coming
down
right
now
into
power
in
our
country.
E
We
have
to
make
sure
that
their
voices
are
heard.
It
is
a
fight
for
truth,
it
is
a
fight
for
health.
It
is
a
fight
for
equality.
It
is
a
fight
for
dignity,
it
is
a
fight
for
the
ages.
Brett
Kavanaugh
must
not
serve
on
the
Supreme
Court.
My
vote
is
No
red
Cavanaugh
for
the
United
States
Supreme
Court.
Thank
you
for
everything
which
you
are
doing.
F
F
The
Cavanaugh
Ford
hearings
are
deeply
personal
to
me,
like
dr.
Ford.
I
was
a
teenager
at
a
party
in
my
hometown,
when
someone
decided
that
they
were
more
entitled
to
my
body
than
I
was
like
dr.
Ford
for
a
number
of
reasons.
I
didn't
fully
understand
at
the
time.
I
did
not
report
my
assault
to
the
police.
Like
her
case,
my
case
is
one
that
a
lot
of
people
easily
dismiss,
because
since
I
got
away
since
I
lived
since
there
were
no
marks,
nothing
really
happened.
Right
I
was
fine,
so
it
didn't
matter
right.
F
My
perpetrator,
like
hers,
is
someone
who
commands
respect
so
he
gets
to
go
on
living
his
life's,
like
everything's,
fine
and
I've
spent
the
last
decade,
trying
to
figure
out
what
to
do
with
my
trauma,
while
I
try
to
help
other
people
piece
together.
There's
the
last
few
weeks
have
forced
me
to
consider
that
at
some
point,
I
may
be
in
dr.
Ford's
shoes
reluctantly
pursuing
a
bastardized
morsel
of
justice.
F
Well,
after
the
fact,
the
kind
of
justice
that
has
only
brought
her
death,
frets
and
mockery,
just
like
Anita
Hill,
had
to
deal
with
before
her.
Even
if
your
story
is
nothing
like
mine
or
dr.
Ford's,
I'm
sure
that,
just
like
every
other
survivor,
you
know
the
kind
of
stress
and
terror
that
was
on
dr.
for
its
face
when
she
had
to
relive
those
horrific
events
on
national
television.
Every
survivor
knows
what
it's
like
to
see:
the
victim
blaming
that's
been
in
the
Senate
verse
and
on
every
news
outlet.
F
F
F
Judge
Kavanaugh
did
exactly
that
last
week
and
he
has
plenty
of
people
willing
to
back
him
up.
This
is
not
just
dr.
Ford's
fight,
it's
not
just
my
fight,
Anita,
Hills
fight,
it's
a
fight
for
all
survivors
of
every
gender,
it's
a
fight
for
everyone
who
Kavanagh
would
trample
on
their
rights.
It's
a
fight
for
everybody
out
here.
Everyone
in
this
crowd
and
everyone
at
home
watching
to
judge
Kavanagh,
Jeff
Flake,
the
president
and
all
those
other
men
like
them,
dr.
Ford's,
not
a
scared
teenager
anymore,
and
neither
am
I
and
we're
coming
for
you.
G
That
we
believe
we
support
her
and
we
want
to
stand
with
her.
Thank
you
for
coming
to
City
Hall
plaza
today.
I
want
to
thank
Nero
Rebecca
for
putting
C
today,
together,
aclu
chained,
oh
and
all
the
a
Planned
Parenthood
and
all
the
other
organizations
that
are
here
this
morning.
Thank
you
for
putting
together
this
together
today,
I.
G
G
This
must
be
my
fiftieth
rally
that
I've
attended
in
the
last
two
years:
a
rally
for
women's
rights,
immigrant
rights,
Muslim
rights,
all
of
the
rights
that
this
administration
Washington
are
trying
to
take
away,
and
we
all
know
what's
happening
right
now
and
I
want
to
say
to
the
senator
not
on
senators
and
a
flake.
I
guess
I
want
to
say
thank
you
for
asking
the
question,
but
that's
your
job.
G
G
G
That's
their
responsibility
and
I
hope,
I
hope.
As
the
Sena
lands
in
Boston
today
and
comes
here,
the
City
Hall,
the
plaza
I,
hope
he
understands
what
Santa
machi
talked
about
that
were
a
city
of
firsts
and
we're
a
nation
of
firsts,
and
then
it's
important
for
him
to
understand
that
that
he
has
an
opportunity
to
do
something
really
special
at
some
point.
Next
week,
judge
Cavanaugh
a
Brett
Kavanaugh
showed
last
week
that
he's
not
listening.
There's
no
question
about
that.
G
G
G
So
to
answer
the
woman's
question
who
asked
me
earlier,
what
can
we
do?
We
can
be
leaders,
we
can
go
out
and
fight
and
protests.
We
can
stand
up
for
what
is
right.
We
can
stand
with
victims,
we
can
steel
with
people
and
let
them
know
that
when
people
are
accusing
them
of
lying,
that
we
stand
behind
them
and
with
them
and
beside
them
in
front
of
them
and
we're
going
to
walk
with
them
every
single
time.
That's
what
we
can
do
and
that's
what
we
have
to
do.
I.
G
G
We
stand
together
every
single
day,
whether
it's
women's
rights,
the
immigrants
rights,
the
survivors,
right
and
I,
want
to
make
sure
we
need
to
send
a
message:
the
United
States
Senate
in
the
Congress
that
we're
paying
attention,
because
these
attacks
on
every
average
normal
day
people
aren't
going
to
be
tolerated
anymore.
I
want
to
end
with
saying
thank
you
for
coming
out
today,
whether
you're
holding
a
sign
or
wearing
a
poncho
just
standing
in
the
crowd.
Thank
you
for
being
here
today
because
these
times
right
now
call
for
that.
G
It
calls
for
us
to
be
present.
It
calls
for
us
to
hug
on
neighbors.
It
calls
for
us
to
stand
with
each
other,
not
against
each
other.
It
talks
about,
and
we
stand
that
calls
for
this
great
country
has
given
us
all
so
much.
We
are
not
going
to
let
this
Congress.
This
Senate
these
nominations
and
this
president
tear
us
down.
Thank
you
and
god
bless
you.
H
Our
membership
of
nearly
60
organizations
stands
in
solidarity
with
all
of
you
and
our
statewide
and
national
partners
in
marking
this
historic
moment
where
our
legacy
and
moral
compass
is
in
question.
I
also
stand
here
as
a
survivor
of
sexual
assault
when
I
was
a
teenager
and
to
all
those
survivors
who
are
here
today
who
are
listening,
I
want
to
say
we
see
you,
we
hear
you
and
you
are
not
alone.
H
At
this
moment
and
every
day,
rape
crisis
centers
in
Massachusetts
across
the
country
are
working
with
survivors
right
this
moment
on
hotlines
in
support
groups
in
health
care
facilities
and
elsewhere
to
support
their
healing
from
horrific
trauma.
We
live
with
this
every
day.
The
epidemic
of
sexual
violence
is
insidious.
H
We
are
hearing
from
rape
crisis,
centers
here
and
elsewhere
that
there
has
been
as
much
as
a
200%
increase
in
calls
in
the
past
several
days.
Imagine
that
some
are
reaching
out
for
the
first
time
to
get
support
for
a
sexual
assault
that
happened
long
ago.
Others
are
calling
for
help
and
have
been
recently
sexual
assaulted.
H
Everyone
is
impacted
and
affected
by
this
equal
opportunity
oppressor.
However,
we
also
know
that
women
and
girls,
especially
women
and
girls,
of
color
and
transgender
women
of
color,
experienced
sexual
assaults
at
much
higher
rates.
So
our
collective
work
is
to
elevate
the
voices
of
survivors
to
give
those
who
are
most
impacted,
a
platform
to
address
the
intersections
of
sexual
violence
and
racial
justice.
H
We
have
to
do
this
work
in
this
way.
One
of
our
partners
on
the
national
scene
is
the
national
task
force
to
end
sexual
and
domestic
violence
and
I
want
to
read
you
their
statement.
Part
of
their
statement
survivors
and
advocates
across
the
country
are
watching.
The
nation
deserves
a
full
and
serious
investigation
into
sexual
assault
and
misconduct
allegations
against
Judge
Cavanaugh,
including
all
relevant
witnesses
before
the
Senate
moves
forward.
That's
what
we're
calling
for
gone
are
the
days
when
sexual
violence
can
be
swept
under
the
rug.
H
A
A
I
I
I
I
I
J
J
Just
want
to
start
out
by
asking
if
you
feel
safe,
you
are
a
victim
of
sexual
assault
or
you
know
somebody
who
is
a
victim
raise
your
hand.
It's
practically
everybody,
I,
look
out
and
I
see
such
hope.
Despite
what's
going
on
on
a
national
level,
I
look
at
you
and
I
see
hope
so
I.
Thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
the
Senate
collective
hearts.
Thank
you.
So
much
I
have
one
question
for
Senator
flake,
just
one
and
all
of
the
Republican
members
of
the
Senate
committee
and
of
the
Senate.
J
J
J
And
they
understand
when
we
say
slow
the
process
down
cool
it
down.
Brent
Kavanagh
is
asking
for
approval
for
a
life
time
appointment
this.
Yes,
no,
we
can't
let
it
happen.
This
is
a
lifetime
appointment.
If
anybody
watched
those
hearings
last
week,
it
was
clear
he
is
unhinged
he's
unfit
he's
unaware
and
he
is
unqualified.
J
K
Remember
when
I
was
assaulted,
I
was
thinking
no
matter
how
much
better
my
life
gets.
It
would
be
easier
to
be
dead
in
this
moment
that
to
continue
living
and
I.
Remember
when
I
heard
that
Brent
Cavanaugh's
nomination
was
moving
forward,
I
felt
the
exact
same
feeling
by
standing
with
kavanah.
The
senators
who
agreed
to
move
his
nomination
forward
are
telling
me
are
telling
are
telling
dr.
Ford
are
telling
all
other
survivors
that
their
experience
does
not
matter.
They
are
telling
us
that
our
lives
do
not
matter.

Our
nation's
disgrace
is
a
violent
history
wrought
with
predators
and
perpetrators,
who
tried
to
rob
us
of
our
voice
of
our
power
of
our
dignity,
of
our
hope
of
our
joy,
my
friend,
DeRay

activists
of
the
black
lives
matter.
Movement
said
that
the
abused
and
marginalized
or
not
voiceless.
What
we
are
is
unheard
in.
B
In
this
moment
we
are
affirming
our
humanity
and
the
dignity
of
survivors
who
deserve
justice
who
deserve
joy.
The
American
people
deserve
the
truth.
We
are
entitled
to
the
truth.
Survivors
are
entitled
to
justice
and
after
dr.
Ford
has
been
sentenced
to
a
lifetime
of
trauma
and
shame
and
isolation.
Brett
Kavanaugh
is
not
entitled
to
a
lifetime
appointment.
B
L
L
L
The
me2
movement
has
made
abundantly
clear
that
sexual
assault
and
harassment
is
a
sickness
in
our
culture.
For
far
too
long,
we
have
tolerated
the
intolerable,
well
Boston
right
here
right
now,
let's
raise
our
voices
to
be
heard.
Let's
raise
our
voices
to
be
heard
by
Jeff
Flake,
as
he
visits
us
in
Boston
today,.

Since
the
latest,
since
the
last
presidential
election,
people
have
been
fueled
to
initiate
more
violence
and
intimidation
on
women,
like
myself,
the
deaths
of
transgender
women
has
rise
since
this
last
presidential
election.
How
can
we
allow
someone
to
sit
on
a
Supreme
Court
who
view
women
as
less
than
others
as
men?
Our
men
are
the
only
ones
who
can
make
powerful
moves
in
Congress
and
in
the
Senate.
N
N
N
N
A
A
A
O
You,
when
I
was
a
child.
I
was
sitting
on
a
fence
in
front
of
my
home.
A
car
rolled
up.
It
was
a
beat-up
old
sedan.
Was
it
blue?
Was
it
red
it's
hard
to
tell
in
a
child's
memory?
I
was
sitting
there.
The
car
rolls
up.
The
drivers
went
the
driver's
door.
Pops
open.
A
man
comes
out
with
its
arms
to
grab
me.
He
picks
me
up
off
the
fence,
my
mother
rips
out
of
the
front
door,
her
hair
dryer
freshly,
the
cord
freshly
ripped
out
of
the
wall
and
she
screams.
O
The
man
drops
me
takes
up
his
car
and
drives
away.
That
was
my
first
encounter
with
the
police.
At
16
years,
old
I
was
taking
a
ride
on
the
New
York
City
subway
system.
An
older
man
tops
taps
his
shoulder.
He
must
have
been
40
45.
He
said
I,
like
your
smile.
It
was
full
of
braces
and
I
was
wearing
a
backpack
at
18
19
years
old
I
was
here
in
the
city
of
Boston.
O
Going
to
a
party
on
campus
I
saw
a
girl
getting
flung
over
her
shoulder
unconscious
at
a
frat
party,
as
a
boy
walked
hit
her
up
a
second-story,
everybody
looked,
but
nobody
said
anything
years
later.
I
was
working
as
a
waitress
in
a
restaurant
and
every
woman
I
worked
with
I
shared
and
we
commiserated
our
stories
of
sexual
violence
and
assault.
O
O
O
O
Is
why
I
want
to
thank
every
survivor
that
is
here
today
that
is
allowing
themselves
and
everyone
in
this
country
to
be
reach
Ramat
eyes
over
and
over
because
people
and
people
like
dr.
Anita,
Hill
I
mean
but
people
like
Anita,
Hill
and
dr.
Ford
have
to
sit
there
in
front
of
panels
of
eleven
men.
Could
you
imagine
if
Brett
Kavanaugh
had
to
sit
him
from
the
panel
of
eleven
women
of
color
deciding
his
fate?
Could
you
imagine,
would
you
imagine.
O
We
are
gonna,
keep
pushing,
because
this,
because
justice
in
America
is
not
just
about
protecting
the
powerful.
It
is
about
uplifting
the
voices
who
have
been
victimized
and
who
have
been
and
would
need
to
be
held
rather,
whose
crimes
need
to
be
held
accountable
for
all
justice,
for
all
is
radical
in
America
justice
for
all
justice,
for
the
poor
justice
for
women
justice
for
the
queer
justice
for
trans
justice
for
poverty.
That
is
what
we
are
fighting
for:
the
radical
rule
of
law
and
justice
for
all
in
the
United
States
of
America.
P
Hi,
my
name
is
Mari
Sydnor
and
I'm,
a
sophomore
at
Emerson,
College
and
I'm.
A
member
of
Boston
socialist
alternative
I,
want
to
thank
all
of
the
women
and
all
of
the
survivors
who
are
here
today
to
show
what
they
believe
in
none
of
this
would
be
happening
if
the
me2
movement
had
not
exploded
earlier
this
year.
Women
are
no
longer
willing
to
let
men
get
away
with
their
crimes
because
of
their
money
and
their
positions
of
power.
P
In
fact,
the
majority
of
recent
labor
strikes
and
demonstrations
have
been
in
industries
dominated
by
women,
nurses,
hotel
workers,
teachers
and
now
fast-food
workers.
They
are
showing
that
me,
too,
needs
to
be
more
than
just
a
hashtag.
If
we
want
to
see
real
change,
we
have
to
take
to
the
streets
and
to
our
workplaces
and
show
that
rape,
culture,
unpunished,
sexual
abusers
and
sexism
will
no
longer
be
tolerated.
P
The
opéra
around
this
trial
is
not
only
a
win
for
women.
It
is
a
win
for
workers
and
young
people
everywhere
who
have
a
stake
in
stopping
Cavanaugh's
pro-corporate
anti
worker
politics
from
getting
onto
the
Supreme
Court.
The
Democratic
Party
has
been
instrumental
in
calling
for
resistance
to
this
current
administration,
but
it
has
been
the
young
women
and
the
survivors
and
the
activists
that
have
pushed
them
into
action.
I
want
to
especially
thank
Jana
Presley
for
coming
today.
Her
speech
was
incredible.
P
I
want
to
thank
her
for
calling
to
provide
an
activist
approach
to
Washington
I
think
we
should
take
her
up
on
that.
I
think
it's
great
that
she
was
here
and
I
think
that
she
and
all
of
us
should
help
to
organize
a
week
of
major
demonstrations
and
civil
disobedience
to
stop
Cavanaugh
from
being
appointed.
P
P
P
Q
My
name
is
Erin
swagger
I'm,
a
senior
at
Emerson
College,
and
the
co-president
of
communication,
politics
and
law
association
on
campus
I
want
to
thank
everyone
for
coming
out
today.
This
has
been
possible
because
we
spoke
up
not
just
myself
in
Annie,
forming
this
Facebook
event
at
Emerson,
but
because
of
all
the
survivors
around
the
world,
every
speaker
here
today
and
dr.
Ford.
Q
Q
As
a
woman
as
a
voter
as
an
American
I
encourage
everyone
to
pull
out
their
phones
to
continue
speaking
out
and
calling
their
Senators
encourage
your
friends
and
family
to
do
the
same,
every
call
every
tweet,
every
email
matters
we
can
defeat.
The
GOP
is
pushed
towards
pushing
this
dangerous
man
into
office.
He
is
unhinged,
he
does
not
deserve
to
serve
the
American
people
and
he
does
not
deserve
a
lifetime
appointment.
R
When
I
was
growing
up,
I
was
told
to
watch
what
I
wore
watch,
what
I
said
and
watch
what
I
did
to
watch
out
for
the
shadowy
figure
in
the
dark
alley.
That
would
grab
me
and
rape
me
before
I
even
saw
his
face,
and
while
this
may
be
true
for
some
survivors
for
me
and
many
others,
these
warnings
meant
very
little
when
it
comes
to
what
we
actually
experienced.
R
All
all
three
of
my
assailants
were
people
I
knew
people,
I
grew
up
with,
and
people
I
trusted
and
what
my
story
is
not
dr.
Ford's.
There
are
certainly
elements
that
echo
hers:
a
covered
mouth,
a
Catholic,
all-boys
high
school,
with
a
cult
of
silence
and
a
confession
that
came
too
late.
The
way
women
in
the
sexual
assault
reach
survivors
are
treated
in
this
country
is
unacceptable.
R
Believe
the
dr.
Ford
and,
most
importantly,
I
believe
every
single
one
of
you
so
I
want
you
to
take
out
your
phones.
If
you
know
anyone
in
the
states
of
Maine,
Alaska,
North,
Dakota,
West,
Virginia
or
Arizona
tell
them
to
call
their
senators
implore
them
to
tell
their
senators
to
vote
no
on
Cavanaugh.
This
man
cannot
be
on
our
Supreme
Court.
A
S
Hello,
we
are
vocal
opposition,
we
are
a
protest
choir
and
we're
going
to
be
singing
I
can't
keep
quiet
written
by
milk
for
the
prep
for
the
women's
March.
If
anyone
knows
that
you're
welcome
to
sing
along
with
us,
you
can
find
the
lyrics
easily
on
Google
and
I,
also
posted
them
last
night
on
the
event
page
for
this
Facebook
event,
this
is
I
can't
keep
Wyatt
by
milk,
which
was
written
months
before
the
start
of
the
me2
movement,
but
it
reflects
the
anger
and
the
trauma
and
the
power
of
generations
and
generations
before
us.
