From YouTube: September 11th Wreath Laying 2017
Description
Mayor Walsh and other elected officials gather at the Boston Public Garden to place a remembrance at the September 11th Memorial. This annual ceremony is a solemn reminder of those we lost.
A
B
Let
us
pray
loving
God.
We
give
you
thanks
this
day
for
the
many
blessings
you
bestow
upon
us
each
and
every
day
and
as
we
gather
on
September
11th
to
commemorate
the
tragic
events
of
so
many
years
ago.
We
thank
you
for
the
blessings
that
have
happened
in
our
lives
since
that
day,
we
thank
you
first
and
foremost
Lord
for
those
people
whose
memories
we
honor
this
day,
those
who
were
lost
in
that
terrible
attack.
B
We
thank
you
Lord
for
the
way
their
lives
blessed
us
here
gathered,
and
so
many
others
by
their
love
by
their
life
by
their
compassion
by
their
care.
We
thank
you
Lord
for
the
manner
in
which,
through
your
grace
and
through
their
goodwill,
strong
faith,
courage
and
commitment,
the
family
members
of
those
who
died
on
September,
11th
2001
have
shown
the
world
and
have
demonstrated
to
each
other
that
evil
is
never
ever
conquered
by
good
the
law
of
the
care,
the
compassion
there
was
the
hallmark
Lord
of
those
who
were
lost.
B
That
day
has
been
honored
and
magnified
by
the
law
of
care
and
compassion
of
these
family
members,
and
so
many
others
who
have
made
September
11th
not
a
day.
That
is
a
day
where
we
remember
how
evil
triumphs,
but
a
day
when
we
celebrate
how
good
overcomes
evil
and
our
compassion
love
care
for
one
another
tolerance,
our
virtues
not
only
of
our
civic
society,
not
only
of
our
faith
communities
but
of
every
man,
woman
and
child,
whom
you
ever
created
Lord.
As
we
remember
those
who
were
lost
that
day.
B
We
give
you
thanks
for
the
way
from
their
place
in
your
heavenly
home.
They
continued
to
pray
for
us
and
with
us
and
inspire
us,
and
we
ask
you
to
continue
with
their
help,
to
encourage
all
of
us
to
remain
committed
to
being
men
and
women
of
faith,
hope
and
love
who
live
our
lives
each
and
every
day.
In
a
way
that
shows
we
are
one
nation
under
vided
with
liberty
and
justice
for
all.
B
A
C
You
Leslie
don't
be
nervous.
You
did
a
great
job,
my
family,
that
went
from
Milan
to
New
York
all
themselves,
well
show
your
fire
to
the
911
right,
nine.
Eleven.
Thank
you
for
your
great
work
to
the
young
people
here
today.
Thank
you
as
well
the
volunteers
that
helped
us
all
today
today
some
want
to
think
you
won't
to
everyone
who
lost
someone
here.
They
loved
on
September,
11th
I
want
to
say.
Thank
you.
C
Thank
you
for
your
strength,
thank
you
for
teaching
us
about
grace
and
about
healing,
and
thank
you
for
sharing
this
sacred
day
with
all
of
us.
Together,
we
come
together
today
to
honor
those
precious
lives
that
were
lost
16
years
ago,
every
day
of
the
year
every
day
since
then
we
honor
them
in
so
many
different
ways,
one
of
them
without
words,
but
sometimes
it
feels
like
our
words,
can't
do
justice
to
their
amazing
lives
that
they
lived.
C
C
We
step
away
from
all
the
noise
of
our
daily
lives,
the
noise
of
the
world
they
left
too
soon,
and
we
listen
to
the
silence
and
we
come
together
in
quite
stillness,
a
prayer
that
some
day
we
know
a
world
at
peace.
In
a
moment,
Leslie
is
going
to
lead
us
in
a
moment
of
silence
for
our
brothers
and
sisters
that
the
party
too
soon
may
we
find
comfort
in
their
silence.
May
we
be
able
to
summon
that
quite
stillness,
whatever
sadness
or
anger
is
inside
of
us?
C
May
we
all
know
that,
no
matter
how
many
years
go
by
or
as
long
as
we
live,
we
will
never
ever
forget
know
that
your
country
stands
with
you
and
that
Boston
stands
with
you
together
we
will
never
stop
working
to
create
the
world.
We
pray
for
a
world
of
peace.
Now
would
like
to
ask
the
West
family
to
join
me,
along
with
the
governor,
in
laying
the
wreath,
Eileen
and
Matt
Devon,
Charlotte
and
Ainsley.
D
D
A
Thank
you
very
much
to
the
gentlemen
of
the
Boston
Fire
Department,
but
also
like
to
thank
mayor
Walsh,
the
governor
and
his
lovely
wife,
the
lieutenant
governor,
the
Attorney
General
for
being
with
us
today,
and
to
the
West
family
as
well.
I'd,
also
like
to
thank
the
Cragen
more
pipes
and
drums
who
came
to
us
all
the
way
from
Gloucester
and
I'd
like
to
thank
mostly
all
of
you
for
attending
the
memorial
ceremonies
of
2017.
Thank
you.
This
concludes
our
ceremonies.
