From YouTube: Goodwill's Thanks-For-Giving Dinner 2016
Description
Mayor Walsh, Governor Baker and Speaker of the House DeLeo attend the Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries' Thanks-for-Giving Dinner.
A
What
a
wonderful
day,
it
is
a
long-standing
goodwill
tradition
that
we
come
together
to
give
thanks
and
celebrate
all
the
blessings
that
we've
had
during
the
last
year.
We
give
thanks
for
the
individuals
in
our
programs
who
work
so
hard
to
gain
the
skills
they
need
to
go
to
work
and
to
become
independent,
and
they
inspire
me
every
single.
B
A
A
We
give
thanks
for
our
many
many
community
partners,
whether
they
be
employers
or
businesses
or
other
community
organizations
that
come
together
year-round
to
help
people
give
opportunities
through
work.
They
come
together
to
volunteer
during
the
year
and
we
have
the
crew
that
have
been
an
amazing
partner
over
the
years.
For
this
event,
and
many
others
we
give
thanks
for
will
the
trees
willow
tree
horns
that
gives
us
the
turkeys
that
we're
going
to
eat
today.
A
Well,
we
give
thanks,
because
there
are
so
many
businesses
and
individuals
that
see
the
vision
that
we
have,
that
with
the
right
support
and
the
right
help.
People
with
amazing
there
is,
can
be
productive
workers
in
our
community,
and
we
see
every
day
the
over
a
thousand
people
who
work
with
the
people
have
been
try
to
be
independent
to
work
and
take
care
of
themselves
and
their
families.
A
Then
we
also
give
things
for
our
elected
officials
and
our
leaders
here
in
the
city
an
estate
is
they
have
made
a
commitment
to
make
sure
that
our
city
and
our
state
is
safe,
supportive
and
inclusive
and
work
so
accretion
of
them
for
that
vision.
So,
to
start
out
we're
fortunate
to
have
with
us
Reverend
or
every
Grover
from
the
district,
we
always
say:
Carroll
Street,
AME
Church,
who
is
a
community
leader
himself
and
a
great
friend
of
goodwill,.
C
D
C
C
We
thank
you
because
you
have
purpose
for
us
together
and
to
celebrate
and
to
thank
you
and
to
acknowledge
your
goodness
for
these
families,
these
parents
and
children
that
are
here.
We
thank
you
as
they
stood
at
these
tables,
as
they
are
guests,
as
they
are
loved
ones,
as
they
continue
God
to
press
their
way
through.
We
thank
you
for
strength
that
you
give
them
for
loved.
You
equip
them
for
the
joy
and
for
the
future.
That
is
yet
in
front
of
them.
E
C
We
thank
you
for
everyone
who
is
here,
because
each
personal
God
is
unless
each
person
who
was
here
is
a
gift
from
you
to
each
other,
and
so
we
thank
you
and
we
pray
that
the
days
ahead
will
be
days
that
will
be
filled
with
your
leadership
as
we
look
to
you
for
strength
and
guidance
and
for
hope.
Now
we
pray
that
you
bless
the
food
that
we
will
eat,
that
we
will
serve
that.
The
food
will
indeed
sustain
our
bodies,
nourish
us
and
equip
us
for
the
day.
C
We
thank
you
for
the
supplies
of
the
food.
We
thank
you
for
those
who
will
help
serve
and
we
pray
that
this
day
this
event
will
continue
the
show
of
God
how
good
you
have
been
to
this
city,
a
city
that
is
one
a
city
that
continues
of
God,
to
be
blessed
with
your
prosperity,
and
we
acknowledge
you
and
we
see
you
and
we
surrender
out
during
our
love
to
you,
for
you
are
the
creator
of
all,
and
it's
in
your.
C
A
As
I
said
earlier,
we've
been
very
fortunate.
They
have
political
leadership
in
this
city
in
the
state
that
are
really
committed
to
ensuring
that
city,
supportive
and
inclusive,
and
we're
fortunate
to
have
so
many
of
our
political
leaders
with
us
here
today
so
going
to
ask
them
if
they
could
just
give
a
few
remarks
before
we
move
on
to
the
dancing.
So
we're
going
to
start
with
our
very
own
special
support
of
many.
Thank
you.
F
And
what
I
want
to?
First
of
all,
thank
everybody
who
volunteer
today.
I
want
to
thank
pastor
Gruber
for
that
beautiful
prayer.
In
the
beginning,
he
wrapped
up
Quad
Cities
all
about
that
opening
prayer,
so
I
want
to
thank
you
all
and
they
call
the
elected
officials
and
again
I
have
two
jobs
today.
One
job
is
to
thank
everyone.
A
good
will
and
good
well
for
the
great
work
that
you
do
every
single
day.
F
My
first
thing
still
is
today
all
the
people
who
are
involved
here
good
well,
thank
you
for
coming
being
part
of
this
great
program,
whether
it's
a
job,
training
program
or
a
dating
program.
Whatever
it
is,
you
do
I
want
to.
Thank
you
all
I
know
I'm
not
going
to
charge
too
low,
because
we
want
to
dance
right.
F
F
D
D
The
director
of
goodwill
lived
here
and
I
know
that
sometimes
she
thinks
she
does.
If
she
did,
you
can
vote
for
me.
It
is
so
good
to
see
anybody
send
this
to
you
all
who
are
sitting
around
the
tables
getting
ready
for
dessert.
That's
us!
That's
a
plug
to
my
co-speaker
speakers.
Getting
ready
for
dessert.
I
just
want
to
say
to
you
all
I
want
to
send
this
to
you
before
you
look
so
good.
D
I
want
you
to
know
that
we
are
all
here
and
we
come
here
every
year
because
of
the
great
programs
of
goodwill,
but
we
also
come
here
so
that
you
know
you
know
that
the
leadership
of
the
city
and
the
leadership
of
the
state
is
concerned
about
you.
We
want
you
to
have
a
great
life
in
the
city
and
the
state,
and
we
want
to
show
it
to
you
show
that
concern
every
time
we
can
and
that's
why
we're
here
serving
this
dinner.
G
A
very
rare
occurrence
and
I
do
it
strictly
for
you
and
that's
why
I'm
so
thankful?
First
of
all
to
thank
the
folks
at
the
goodwill
for
all
the
great
work
that
they
do
in
and
day
out
and
of
thankful
for
the
opportunity
that
I
have
today
that
I
come
into
spend
my
free
Thanksgiving
with
each
and
every
one
of
you
who
we
tried
to
be
helping
as
best
as
we
can
at
the
state
level.
So
to
all
of
you,
a
very
happy
and
healthy
Thanksgiving
and
my
memory
best
wishes
for
a
great
holiday
season.
G
I
had
the
opportunity
introduces
a
very
important
lady
because
she
controls
all
the
money
in
the
state.
Okay,
so
who
is
more
important
than
that?
Not
only
does
she
do
that,
but
she's
also
a
very
wonderful
woman,
who's
doing
a
tremendous
job
as
treasurer
of
our
Commonwealth
of
Massachusetts.
We
have
a
warm
welcome
to
debt
Goldberg.
E
I'm
going
to
be
very
brief,
but
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
every
single
person
who
works
at
Goodwill
was
involved
in
goodwill.
Who
comes
to
Goodwill
knows
that
we're
here
because
of
all
of
you,
you
all
work
so
hard,
but
you
know
what
you
have
given
something
to
us
all
of
us
standing
here:
the
opportunity
to
express
out
loud
how
thankful
we
are
not
only
for
the
opportunity
to
serve
all
of
you,
but
for
everything
that
we
have
in
our
lives.
E
B
I'll
be
sure
to
be
Thanksgiving
is
about
love,
it's
about
compassion,
it's
about
sharing
and
giving
to
others
and
I
want
to
acknowledge,
Joanne
and
all
the
great
folks
at
Goodwill
for
their
efforts
today.
But
I
also
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
the
men
and
women
across
this
state
who,
every
day
in
ways
large
and
small,
that
aren't
going
to
be
covered
by
the
media.
Do
the
awesome
and
the
awesomely
important
work
of
taking
care
of
people.
Let's
give
them
a
round
of
applause.
B
B
And
now
it
is
my
honor
to
introduce
a
man
who
leads
our
Commonwealth,
who,
day
in
and
day
out,
is
looking
after
the
needs
of
others
across
the
state
in
ways
large
and
small
I
don't
know
if
he
has
the
power
to
pardon
turkeys,
but
it's
a
lot
of
power
and
a
lot
of
important
responsibilities.
It's
a
great
privilege
for
me
to
introduce
our
governor
Charlie
Baker.
H
H
H
Don't
when
no
one's
watching
they
do
it
because
they
believe
in
it
they
care
about
their
fellow
man
and
their
fellow
woman,
and
they
want
to
be
there
to
provide
them
with
health
guidance
and
assistance
and
in
this
Thanksgiving
Day
spirit,
there's
no
better
opportunity
for
all
of
us
and
we
come
up
Monday
and
then
all
I
can
say
is
I
hope
you
all
have
a
wonderful,
Thanksgiving,
I
hope
you
all
enjoy
the
rest
of
your
day.
That
hope
you
all
enjoy
your
dessert
and
you
get
up
and
you
dance,
because.
