completion
of

comprehensive
renovation
of
the
entire
playground
with
a
design
and
construction
budget
of
three
hundred
and
ten
thousand
dollars.

councilor
Ayanna
Presley,
hosted
her
fourth
annual
jump
in
two-piece
double-dutch
tournament
hosted
at
malcom-x
Park
in
Roxbury.
This
is
a
free,
family-friendly
event
which
brings
people
of
all
ages
together
for
poetry,
community
and
jumping
rope.

is
rededicated,
every
fall,
Newbury
Street
was
once
again
car
free
and
open
to
pedestrians.
Shoppers
diners
and
pedestrians
were
able
to
explore
new
restaurants,
local
boutiques
and
international
brands,

rediscover

favorite
Newbury
Street
gems.
From
a
different
perspective,
the
City
of
Boston
hosted
a
number
of
events
commemorating
September
11th
on
Monday.
First
mayor
Walsh
joined
governor
Baker
and
other
dignitaries
on
the
Statehouse
lawn
for
the
annual
flag,
lowering
moment
of
silence
and
reading
of
names.

The
Sweeney
awards
were
hosted
in
the
State
House
chamber,
created
in
honor
of
American
Airlines
flight
attendant
Madeleine
Amy
Sweeney,
who
had
the
courage
and
bravery
to
contact
airline
services
to
convey
critical
information
about
the
five
hijackers
and
their
fatal
actions
on
American
Airlines
flight
11.
This
award
commemorates
those
who
truly
exhibit
exceptional
bravery.
This
year's
recipient
is
ten
year
old,
Jayden
Dancy,
who
rescued
a
kayaker
in
distress,
Jayden.

Jayden
was
accidentally
killed
on
June
9th
2017
when
he
crossed
an
active
commuter
rail
line
to
retrieve
his
bike
and
was
struck
by
a
commuter
train.
His
mother
accepted
the
award
on
his
behalf
later
that
day,
city
officials
thanked
volunteers
at
the
Massachusetts
military
heroes
for
911
service
project
formally
launched
on
Memorial
Day
2009,
the
Massachusetts
military
heroes.
Funding
now
comes
together
on
September
11th
to
build
500
military
care
packages
for
servicemen,
and
women
overseas,
write
letters
of
support
to
our
troops
and
build
care
packages
for
local
veterans
in
need.

East
Boston
held
another
ribbon-cutting
this
week,
this
time
for
the
completion
of
an
eight
million
dollar
streetscape
and
park
renovation
made
to
Central
Square
Park
these
streets,
sidewalks
and
park
were
reconstructed
as
one
combined
project
under
a
partnership
between
Boston
transit
Public,
Works
parks
and
Boston
Water
and
Sewer
Commission
Boston's
elderly
Commission
hosted
their
annual
party
in
the
park
for
the
past
13
years.
The
city
has
offered
Boston's
older
adults
an
end-of-the-summer
picnic
at
one
of
these
city's
parks.

year's
party
was
held
at
malcom-x
Park
in
Roxbury
City
officials
gathered
at
Cleveland
Circle
in
Brighton
to
break
ground
for
a
new
mixed-use
project.
This
development
is
composed
of
a
92
unit,
luxury
independent
living
residential
community
for
seniors
called
Waterstone
at
the
circle
and
a
162
room
AC
hotel
by
Marriott.

The
building
will
replace
the
union's
existing
headquarters
at
40
Enterprise
Street
New,
England
Conservatory
cut
the
ribbon
on
their
new
Student
Life
and
Performance
Center.
The
center
offers
Orchestra
and
jazz
rehearsal
rooms,
a
black
box
opera,
theater,
a
music
library
and
Resource
Center
250
student
rooms
and
suites,
a
Dining
Commons
and
spaces
for
collaboration
and
practice.

Boston
University
celebrated
the
largest
gift
in
the
university's
history
at
the
Center
for
integrated
life
sciences
and
engineering.
Opening
a
donor
has
established
an
endowed
fund
with
a
starting
value
of
100
million
dollars
to
support
interdisciplinary
research
at
the
intersection
of
engineering
and
the
life
sciences.
