From YouTube: WE BOS Dell Women Funding Women Breakfast
Description
Mayor Walsh and Dell Chief Responsibility Officer Christine Fraser discuss the city's partnership with female entrepreneurs and businesses.
A
A
Wonderful,
so
thank
you
guys
so
much
for
being
here.
This
is
exciting
for
us.
Even
a
few
months
ago,
we
did
a
launch
of
our
East
Indies
report,
which
is
research.
We
did
around
housing
matters
for
15
entrepreneurs
of
the
city
and
Boston
is
one
of
those
cities
where
we
did
that
research.
When
we
had
a
conversation
not
too
long
ago
on
a
similar
topic
and
from
that
conversation
we
decided
to
move
into
this
event
as
part
of
the
boss,
so
really
excited
to
be
here
so
to
get
started.
A
C
C
Thanks
for
all
that,
a
Silicon
Valley,
the
neo
geo
textile
companies
and
a
lot
of
the
Russian
capital
money
and
one
of
the
companies
will
head
back
then
back
then.
So
it
was
clear
opportunity
here
in
the
city
of
our
students
and
on
the
occult,
but
honestly
to
be
able
to
make
order.
They
came
back
the
adventure,
capital
spending
and
also
I
innovation.
C
You
know
I
was
that
were
right
now
before
they
go
behind
any
walk,
San,
Francisco
yeah!
You
know
it's
not
want
to
be
the
one.
You
know
what
with
no
one
in
innovation
in
on
the
women
on
the
honeys
goes
on
the
tragedy,
but
this
the
law.
Also
it's
in
what
to
do
it
for
RP
I
mean
an
issue
directly
to
the
number
one
obviously,
but
for
our
economy.
Even
it's
the
right
thing
to
do,
and
you
know
around
the
throne.
That's
a
my
there's.
C
B
D
We
are,
we
were
founded
by
my
kind
of
entrepreneur
who
certainly
leads
into
it,
but
from
from
the
perspective
like
why
women
entrepreneurs,
just
as
much
pilot
there
are
some
unique
challenges
that
the
trainers
face,
probably
the
most
significant
of
which
is,
is
access
to
capital,
only
2%
of
VC
funding
right
now,
those
two
women
entrepreneurs
so
partnering
with
the
mayor
and
in
having
some
sense
from
the
studies
that
we're
focused
on
like
where
there
are
opportunities
to
make
improvement.
That's
that's
really.
D
What's
really
really
focus
in
support
of
women
entrepreneurship,
there's
data
that
supports
the
fact
that
two
mayor
washes
point
how
important
it
is
for
the
community,
women,
controllable,
18
trillion
dollars
of
spending
around
the
globe
and
women
are
invested
in
the
community.
They
breathe
that's
90
percent
of
their
income
to
the
community.
So
it's
an
enormous
source
of
opportunity.
A
C
C
A
second
I
would
like
no
length
and
I
would
like
a
different
title
and
the
same
can
be
said
for
the
business
side
of
it
when
you're
looking
for
the
technical
support,
I
would
create
actually
technical
support
through
our
office
of
small
business.
How
we
do
it
two
hours
at
women's
advancement?
How
do
we
even
do
it
in
our
own
I'm,
a
handy
staffer
from
from
the
secrecy
of
all
the
city?
C
How
do
I
even
do
it
in
in
women
accessing
contracts
in
the
city
and
creating
opportunities
for
me,
because
in
the
contract
we
do
specifically
talk
about
women,
people
call
veterans.
How
do
we
make
sure
that
women
have
access,
not
that
it's
just
in
a
document
and
instead
focus
DeLoreans
there?
How
do
you
make
sure
that
people
understand.
C
D
I
think
that
what
the
mayor
is
sitting
on
it's
something
that
we
economy
true,
is
it's
really
important
for
all
the
partners
in
an
ecosystem
to
be
participating
together,
because
it's
like
you
know
the
tide
rises
for
all
or
for
a
technology
company
and
for
a
very
large
employer
in
the
state,
maybe
500
team
members
in
in
the
state.
It's
really
important
for
us
to
just
understand
who
are
the
partners
that
are
actually
gonna,
be
important
for
us
to
advance
the
agenda
and
Mary
I'll
just
hit
on
something.
That's
really
important.
D
The
four
challenges
that
we've
identified
that
women
entrepreneurs
face
at
a
higher
degree
than
men
are
access
to
capital
technology
access
to
talent,
but
the
one
that
that
the
mayor
just
highlighted
is
a
really
important
one
and
that's
access
to
networks,
both
the
formal
and
the
informal
network.
So
the
example
of
you
know
the
I
will
just
call
into
the
office
and
expect
and
I
have
his
issues
address
right
away
and
it
may
be.
D
E
E
D
So
capitalism
is
one
of
the
thought,
the
biggest
challenge
for
entrepreneurs
and
what
we've
done.
Some
of
you
may
be
familiar
job
as
a
program.
It's
called
when
we
started
about
ten
years
ago,
and
the
primary
focus
for
Ted
is
to
provide
educational
network
and
technology
support
to
women
entrepreneurs.
D
What
we
think
is
most
important
in
terms
of
of
that
as
a
relates
to
capital
is
helping
to
educate
our
women
entrepreneurs
on
how
to
get
the
capital,
exposing
them
to
people
who
are
influencing
that
people
who
can
help
them
prepare
their
business
cases
to
the
district
court
for
the
the
capital
with
one
program,
in
particular
its
women
funding
women.
We
do
that
in
partnership
with
a
springboard
which
you
may
be
familiar
with,
springboard
is
of
an
incubator
for
women
entrepreneurs,
and
we
want
seminars
around
the
world
where
we
put
women.
D
C
Also,
the
city
Boston
Lyon,
our
second,
our
development,
and
we
are
different.
Here-
is
my
advice
to
anyone
in
this
room
that
is
looking
for
any
point
into
the
city.
We
got
time
to
wo,
hear
from
our
advancement.
I
would
stop
there
to
look
at
the
different
areas
that
we
would
look
at
to
try
and
be
helpful.
We
do
have
programs
that
are
set
up
in
the
city,
but
ultimately
I
think
the
biggest
thing
that
we
can
do
as
a
city
or
anyone.
C
You
know
it's
like
an
official
Manor
governor.
The
leaders
of
companies
is
really
work
with
these
DC's
to
make
sure
that
as
they
open
up
their
spending,
they
spend
it
equally
across
the
board.
Yeah.
Well,
the
first
dinners
I
had
when
I
became
there.
I
don't
go
out
there,
but
I
happen
to
sit
at
a
table
with
a
bunch
of
cowboys,
and
there
was
a
big
in
the
room.
Burma
correctly,
there's
probably
20
people
on
that
wood
responsible
for
all
the
big
companies
in
the
world.
C
They
all
fit
all
the
pieces
out
of
money
and
they
might
have
been
wallowing
in
the
room
at
the
time
and
we
were
talking
at
that
point
2014
the
money
that
they
were
giving
out.
Vc
money
was
being
spent
in
all
over
the
country,
not
in
Massachusetts,
and
they
explain
what
happened
in
Silicon,
Valley,
that
the
money
in
Silicon
Valley
stayed
in
Silicon,
Valley
and
I.
C
Think
those
conversations
are
important
for
me
to
have
another
folks
attack
with
those
same
people
saying
if
you're
gonna
give
money
make
sure
not
just
keep
giving
out
in
Boston
and
keep
it
a
blessing
but
give
helpful
women
as
well
and
equally
into
women,
because
the
rough
ones.
If
you
look
at
anymore,
that
I've
read
and
you
look
at
stock
companies
in
the
both
the
success
that
a
female
woman
stock
company,
it
alot
better
than
a
male
staff
company.
C
And
if
you
look
at
the
tech
sector
here
in
Massachusetts,
the
women
tech
sector,
investors
go
out
higher
than
it
won't
go
out
and
Silicon
Valley,
so
that
there's
a
space
here
they
and
it's
not
just
tackle
other
colleges.
There
is
a
space
here
in
in
Massachusetts
in
Boston,
in
the
East
Coast
that
can
be
an
engine
can
be
formed
by
women
entrepreneurs.
If
we're
done
correctly
and
the
more
money
there
I'm,
not
saying
and
I
was
told,
you
can't
compete
with
talk
about
I'll,
never
agree
to
that.
D
D
D
The
quality
of
the
graduates
from
those
schools
and
the
innovation
that's
coming
from
those
claws
is
like
an
untapped
opportunity
for
us,
so
you
know
I
really
like
the
mayor's
position
on
you
know
we
can
be
better
than
Silicon
Valley.
We
have
an
enormous
amount
of
talent
and
its
really
getting
DC
money.
Access
for
those
tools,
don't
be
afraid
to
try
I
mean
I.
Think
that's
one
of
the
things
that
a
lot
of
people.
C
Sometimes
she's
going
to
jump
into
defect
and
okay
I'm
gonna
go
over
and
you
know
see
what
you
have
to
gain
with.
You
run
the
game,
but
if
you
have
that
drive
you
don't
think
about,
don't
be
afraid.
Oh,
you
know
ask
questions,
push
continue
to
move
forward.
If
you
have
an
idea
or
if
somebody
has
an
idea-
and
you
think
it's
a
great
idea-
I
mean
you
actually
left
some
of
them,
some
of
the
guys.
You
know
they
ain't
nothing.
C
D
See
how
role
models
I
think
that
one
of
the
one
of
the
things
that
we
tried
to
join
the
program
is
to
elevate
the
profile
very
successful
when
they're,
not
reproduce,
and
for
all
of
us
to
sort
of
look
at
that
and
see
ourselves
in
that.
So
it's!
This
is
again
a
hotbed
of
women
entrepreneurs
sitting
inside
of
the
city
and
there's
so
many
networks.
A
C
C
We've
the
longest
Commission,
it
was
a
commission,
it
was
an
opposition,
some
stuff,
but
it
was
a
commission
of
ourselves
basically
created
the
office
of
advancement.
We
want
to
be
in
commission
to
an
actual
office
and
I
think
that
having
the
conversations
inside
a
department
and
at
that
table
at
the.
C
Constantly
pushing
pushing
pushing
the
killer,
Dylan
can
runs
our
housing
in
the
city,
blocks,
chills,
pushing
pushing
pushing
I,
say,
pushing
and
trucking
in
the
glute
Lane
I'm
talking
in
a
way
to
really
elevate
these
conversations
and
constantly
you
know
it'll
always
challenge
me,
as
you
know,
not
be
friendly.
When
we're
meeting
till
along
the
opposite
saying
you
know,
you
know
you're
not
doing
that
you're
not
doing
nothing.
You're
gonna
do
more
with
their
do
this
and
explain
to
me
what
the
problem
is.
You
know
I
have
to
look
around
the
room
today.
C
You
know
I
see
a
lot
of
entrepreneurs,
but
I
don't
see
a
lot
of
income,
so
we
have
to
do
well,
while
we're
raising
this
to
this
tool
to
a
level
of
paying
attention
that
people
are
not
spending
money,
we
need
to
make
sure
that
we
don't
want
the
same
situation.
Wait
25
years
from
now,
women
entrepreneurs
are
doing
unbelievable
and
then
surpassed
men,
but
we'll
try
to
go,
but
women
of
color
I
still
lagging
behind.
So
it
has
been
think
about
and
I
think
that's
the
difference.
B
C
D
D
I
actually
think
it's
more
than
that.
It's
like
he's,
put
voices
in
the
room
and
given
voices.
Two
people
can
actually
speak
to
the
issues,
and
so
you
know
there's
a
lot
of
credit
to
people
in
positions
of
authority
and
of
the
majority
who
look
at
a
diversified
perspective,
whether
that's
diversification
by
gender.
A
C
All
across
the
country,
loads
of
Boston
Massachusetts
in
council
Boston
for
that
experienced
and
that
expertise
along
we
did
in
a
very
short
period
time.
I
think
we've
made
some
significant
changes
in
the
way
that,
whether
it's
a
location,
we're
also
working
with
or
200
companies,
giving
us
wage
data
or
wages
or
looking
at
the
way
that
we
created
economic
development
office.
C
The
company's
possible
that's
the
answer,
but
we
saying
that
this
still,
we
still
have
a
long
work
to
do
and
I
think
that
in
a
very
short
period
of
time
we
can
actually
be
the
model
honestly,
not
just
in
Massachusetts
in
the
world.
It
was
the
PC
spending
online
in
Europe
in
China
Japan
all
over
the
country
all
over
the
world.
So
why
not
like
him?
We
beat
the
country,
the
country
in
the
region
of
the
country
city
in
the
country,
that
that
is
that
leader
and.
D
You
know
I
just
had
that
there
20
years
from
now,
I
hope
that
we're
not
still
having
the
same
conversation.
You
know
I
hope
that
you
know
we
don't
have
to
have
these
kind
of
conversations
about
how
we
provide
at
you
know,
equity
and
opportunity
for
for
women
entrepreneurs
or
for
women
of
color
or
for
any
of
them
currently
underrepresented
minorities,
I
think
when
you
see
the
actions
that
are
happening
at
a
local
level,
those
are
being
sponsored
by
the
mayor's
office,
and,
quite
honestly,
you
know
without
getting
too
political.
D
You
know
they've
awareness,
that
a
lot
of
us
have
now
in
terms
of
the
things
that
we
really
aren't
happy
about
and
being
forceful
and
taking
action
and
raising
our
voices
that
in
20
years
we
really.
You
know
that
these
kinds
of
things
just
don't
exist
that
that's
my
personal
hope
and
especially
raising
a
daughter,
is
particularly
personal.
That's.
D
C
C
Bring
the
bill,
you
know
many
of
the
many
of
the
great
ideas
so
go
out
there
and
get
problem
and
do
the
best
you
can
talk
to
a
lot
of
people
for
advice,
get
get
mentors
the
thing
that
doesn't
keep
you
doing
society
and
honestly
just
continue.
That's
it's
not
my
world
that
the
BC
row
per
se,
but
I
watched
as
I
said
earlier.
I
think
I
think
they
have
this
discount
to
that
be
honored.
If
those
brought
her
up
and
I
think
you
have
to
kind
of
look
that
way.
I.
D
Just
say,
you've
got
money,
there's
already
so
many
and,
and
so
you
know
the
unabashedly
confident
about
what
you're
talking
to
do
and
they're
seen.
There's
a
visual
of
the
doctors
kind
of
floating
across
the
water
and
everything
seems
so
calm.
But
underneath
you
know
the
feet
are
flapping,
like
you
know
how
you
present
yourself
externally
and
what's
going
on,
can
be
two
different
things,
but
somebody
already
believes
in
you
and
just
you
know
really
harness
that
confidence.
B
G
C
We
do
workshops
with
conversations
were
in
different
spaces
and
different
areas.
Different
network
networking
areas
and
I
think
that's
kind
of
enough
to
do
with
me.
It's
really
different.
What
we
do
in
the
city.
People
think
it
might
be
easy
to
find
an
employee
employees
for
what
we
do,
but
sometimes
it's
difficult.
C
D
Great
so
two
things
I
would
add.
One
I
would
realize
what
the
mayor
said
about
networking
look
III
when
I
address
large
groups,
especially
early
career
professionals.
I
have
some
people
who
raise
their
hand
if
they
secure
the
opportunity
through
a
friend,
a
parent.
They
know
something
and
it's
like
75%
of
the
room
raises
their
hand
so
they're
the
power.
The
network
is
enormous.
The
other
thing
is
University.
We
just
did
a
program,
so
we
have
a
very
big
focus
on
attracting.
You
know,
professionals
of
God,
to
to
know
really
why
diversified
perspective.
D
We
did
a
program
with
been
asked,
Austin
and
was
worth
Eastern,
and
we
went
to
one
of
our
buildings
in
Cambridge
and
we
just
invited
any
from
the
rustic.
We
work
through
the
university
relations
and
we
have
really
like
55
on
a
pouring
rain
night
in
November.
Young
ready
to
graduate
professionals
from
all
disciplines
show
up
and
they
I
talked
to
one
of
the
guys
thanks

no
one's
doing
this
so,
depending
on
the
level
of
experience
that
you
need.

Know
that
I
spoke
of
the
chamber
promising
2
years
ago
and
I
challenged
the
chamber
to
get
one
people
call
it
into
leadership
companies
or
something
like
that.
I
think
that
is
something
worth
exploring
and
I.
Think
if
you
have
companies
that
are
quick
enough,
you
follow
these
legislation
sitting
at
their
attention
was
one
thing
and
I
think
that
it's
worth
it
if
they
don't
know,
I'm
sure
we've
done
an
assessment
of
boards
across
passengers.
