Students
who
said
what
is
a
groundbreaking
so
today
we
are
here
for
the
first
step
in
moving
towards
opening
our
new
building.
So
far,
we
have
so
many
little
ones
here
today
we're
physically
going
to
be
opening
up
the
ground,
so
we
can
begin
digging
for
our
new
building.
As
I'm
sure
you
know,
students
at
conservatory
lab
receive
an
hour
of
music
each
day
as
part
of
our
music
program.
As
you
arrive,
get
the
pleasure
of
hearing
the
Brad
Barrett
trio,
one.

art
Joey
in
the
community
are
some
of
the
magnets
that
bring
the
school
together
and
we're
dedicated
to
preparing
our
children
for
success
as
scholars
and
as
citizens
of
the
city.
Our
students
participate
in
explorations
and
fieldwork
that
they
do
inside
and
outside
the
classroom.
That
created
you
unique
experience
that
empowers
them
to
connect
their
academic
learning
to
their
lives
as
they
move
forward
today,
we're
almost
home
since
the
school's
founding
in
1999
conservatory
lab
school
has
moved
five
times.

C
C
Certainly
Kitty
Pell
has
been
the
eminent
degree
behind
the
scene
of
the
of
the
development
of
the
school
and
Bob
Greenberg
and
Gary
good
have
worked
tirelessly
on
the
details
of
getting
this
site
ready
for
us
to
build
on
over
the
years
of
my
career,
which
includes
tenure,
is
the
president
of
Massachusetts
College
of
Art
and
Design.
I
have
been
repeatedly
impressed
and
astonished
by
how
art
and
creativity
can
change
the
trajectory
of
a.
C
C
Well,
thank
you
for
that
performance
and
we
look
forward
to
hearing
our
students
again
a
little
later
in
the
program.
I
also
want
to
thank
very
personally
the
wonderful
number
of
donors
who
have
been
with
the
school
on
this
project
tenaciously
year
after
year
after
year.
This
has
been
a
joint
effort
of
many
many
many
people,
and
we
would
not
be
here
today
without
their
support.
So
those
of
you
who
have
contributed
to
this
project
and
continue
to
support
it.
Thank
you
very,
very
much.
I.
C
And
it's
my
pleasure
now
to
introduce
the
chair
of
the
City
Council
we.
This
is
important
for
us
that
Andrea
Campbell
has
joined
us.
I
know
she
has
a
very
busy
schedule,
but
her
commitment
to
education,
to
the
arts
and
to
Dorchester
is
very
very
important
to
the
success
of
his
school
in
our
neighborhood.
So
Andrea.
F
F
F
Thank
you,
Kay
for
the
warm
introduction
and
welcome
all
your
hard
work.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
to
the
staff
as
well.
The
teachers,
the
music's
teachers,
are
the
music
teachers
are
professionals
for
all
that
you
do
for
the
students,
not
only
in
my
district,
which
is
largely
largely
Dorchester
Mattapan,
but
in
the
city
of
Boston.
Can
we
give
them
a
big
round
of
applause.
F
In
or
councillor
Frank
Baker
will
split,
Dorchester
or
the
mayor
as
having
really
tough
jobs.
It's
really
tough
to
shape
the
lives
of
our
young
people
to
ensure
that
they
have
the
skills.
Thank
you
thank
you
to
ensure
they
have
the
skills
and
all
that
they
need
to
be
successful
when
they
go
out
into
the
world
and
so
I.
Don't
I,
never
think
that
we
can
frankly
think
enough.
The
teachers,
the
staff
and
those
support
networks
that
they
have
within
the
building
itself
I
also
want
to
thank
passport
members.
F
Current
board
members,
donors,
supporters,
of
course,
community
residents
and
I
see
a
lot
of
folks
from
the
community
for
supporting
this
institution.
This
is
an
incredible
day
and
I,
don't
know
about
you,
but
I
never
like
to
see
lots
of
parcels
that
look
lighted
in
the
community
that
are
vacant
to
be
able
to
turn
a
lot
into
something
that
is
productive
for
community
use
is
truly
significant
and
a
big
deal
so
I
again
want
to
thank
all
those
folks
who
participated
in
the
planning
process.
F
F
Thank
You
me
to
keep
it
short
and
sweet,
but
you
know:
I
was
born
and
raised
in
this
great
city
and
I
was
blessed
to
have
an
incredible
education
going
through
all
Boston
Public
Schools,
and
one
of
the
things
that
bothers
me
sometimes
is
the
rhetoric
around
traditional
public
schools
versus
charter
schools
versus
this
type
of
school.
All
I
know
is
that
our
young
people
need
a
quality
education.
F
Quality
education
and
if
they
have
an
institution
that
can
also
add
arts
music
as
a
focal
point
and
a
tremendous
piece
of
that
education
is
extremely
important,
they're,
quite
special,
quite
lucky.
So
congratulations
to
the
students!
Congratulations
to
those
that
keep
pushing
for
every
student
in
the
city
of
Boston
to
have
access
to
a
quality
education
that
currently
isn't
the
case
for
every
single
student,
the
City
of
Boston.
We
have
much
more
work
to
do,
but
today
is
an
opportunity
to
celebrate
this
institution.
The
work
of
the
students
as
well.
F
F
B
B
G
G
C
C
We're
very
fortunate
today
to
have
with
us
the
Mayor
of
the
City
of
Boston
Marty
Walsh
over
the
years
since
Marty
has
become
mayor
from
the
very
first
day.
He's
made
a
tremendously
strong
commitment
to
the
arts
and
arts
education.
He
supported
all
of
the
different
organizations
that
fostered
the
Arts
in
Boston
from
college
level
to
the
Boston
Arts
Academy,
which
is
really
he's
responsible
for
making
that
possible
for
the
BAA
to
now
be
working
building
a
new
building
and
to
the
charter,
schools
and
elementary
schools
just
recognize.
C
C
D
D
D
D
D
D
To
all
the
teachers
that
are
here,
the
staff,
the
families,
the
neighbors
and
most
especially
the
students,
a
conservatory,
lab
charter
school
I-
want
to
congratulate
all
of
you
on
this
historic
milestone.
This
is
truly
a
great
milestone
and,
on
behalf
of
myself,
in
City
Council
drea
Campbell
City
Council,
Frank
Baker,
who
grew
up
not
too
far
from
here
John
Burroughs,
chief
of
economic
development
of
the
city
lives
literally
across
the
street.
Joyce
Linehan
chief
of
policy
lives
down
the
street
and
all
of
us
in
the
city.
D
D
Violins
and
I
thought
that
is
absolutely
incredible:
to
create
opportunities
and
introduce
music
into
young
people's
life
at
such
young
age
and
from
that
point
to
today,
I'm
so
proud
we're
breaking
grounds
of
your
new
school.
That's
here.
In
doing
so,
it's
torn
up
ins
corner
I'm,
really
proud
that
we're
gonna
be
doing
it
here
this
school,
for
those
of
you
that
are
not
sure
about
the
school
I
haven't
heard
much
about
the
school
there's
some
community
people.
B
D
This
school
is
persevere
for
20
years,
they've
trusted
in
their
mission,
they're
an
arts
driven
education
program
and
it's
working
because
many
of
the
graduates
now
are
all
scattered
throughout
different
high
schools
and
different
colleges
here
in
Boston
across
the
country.
The
young
people
in
this
school
is
certainly
thriving.
D
Now,
it's
all
of
your
different
journeys
that
unite
you
with
another
journey:
three
vital
Asian,
revitalization
of
Arts
in
Boston,
and
the
transformation
of
upins
corner
as
a
Nantes
and
innovative
innovation
district
five
years
ago
we
talked
about
that
as
a
possibility.
We
did
something
called
imagine
Boston
2030.
It
was
a
master
plan
and
we
picked
different
areas
of
the
city
and
we
looked
at
those
areas
for
investment
in
different
areas.
D
There's
a
lot
of
people
from
upins
corner
here,
that's
here
bill
and
Demeter
and
other
folks,
and
we
said
this
really
could
be
an
onsen
culture
destination
and
it
was
based
off
of
because
the
Strand
theater
was
down
the
street
and
we
have
the
upins
Coleman
up.
It's
corner
library
over
in
the
bridge
building
and
we
said
well,
we
need
a
new
space
for
our
library
and
we
want
to
work
to
try
and
find
and
build
some
build.
D
E
D
Me,
and
so
we
might
have
a
spot
I,
don't
want
a
proofing
company
on
up
in
scorning.
Do
you
know
what
I
say?
No!
Well,
we
thought
about.
This
was
not
part
of
our
plan.
This
happened
by
complete
I,
wouldn't
say
accidents,
say,
maybe
divine
intervention,
the
conservatory
lab
charter
school
looked
at
this
location
that
was
standing
and
sitting
and
standing
in
today,
and
that
is
exactly
what
our
plan
was
for
this
table
in
this
area.
E
D
New
facility
is
going
to
be
a
K
to
8
on
school,
with
the
energy,
with
only
a
great
school
community
can
bring.
There
is
no
no
Arts
in
Boston
without
having
great
institutions
like
your
school
you're,
innovators,
you
incubators
and
you're
the
next
generation,
which
makes
it
even
more
important.
This
school
has
proven
that
odds
can
change,
lives,
you've
shown
how
odds
can
reimagine
our
future
and
when
odds
combine
with
education
in
devoted
community,
it's
one
of
the
most
powerful
forces
in
the
world.
D
So
this
isn't
just
congratulations
to
conservatory
lab.
This
is
great
news
for
the
City
of
Austin.
This
is
great
news
for
the
nut
neighborhood
about
this
corner
and
I
want
to
thank
every
single
person
who
made
this
day
possible
from
the
founding
board
members.
Thank
you
for
your
ovation
and
thank
you
for
your
application
into
the
state
to
make
the
school
a
reality
to
the
parents
that
have
been
shuffling
kids
from
different
campuses.
Thank
you
for
sticking
to
the
school
to
the
graduates
of
this
school
there's
parents
that
are
still
friends
of
mine.
