Description
Robby Schwarz, EnergySmart’s Residential New Homes Advisor meets with production builders to discuss the incentives and support available for high-performance homes after the Marshall Fire. A separate meeting for all builders and architects will be held on June 23rd, 2022.
B
I'm
not
sure
how
helpful
that
will
be
or
not,
but
we'll
we'll
see.
So
I
thought
it
might
be
good
just
to
go
around
and
introduce
ourselves
and
I'll
go
last,
because
I've
got
some
other
stuff
to
say
why?
Don't
I'm
just
gonna
call
you
out
on
how
you're
showing
up
on
my
screen
so
nicole.
Would
you
like
to
start
off.
C
Absolutely
hi,
I'm
nicole
o'neal,
I'm
working
with
sheffield
homes,
david
lewis,
who's
also
on
the
line
we
worked
together.
I
don't
know
what
else
do
you
want
me
to
say
what
I
do
for
sheffield
sure.
C
B
Great
perfect,
then
I
guess
one
of
the
reasons
I
wanted
to
go
around
the
zoom
caller
here
is
that
you
all
should
think
of
yourselves
as
resources
for
each
other
as
well
there
so
alice.
Why
don't
you
go
next.
D
Hi,
sorry,
I'm
on
a
busy
street.
My
name
is
alice,
I'm
an
intern
at
residential
science
resources
and
I
work
with
eric
a
lot.
E
Yeah,
my
name
is
eric
straight
I'm
with
residential
science
resources.
We
manage
excel's
energy,
star
new
homes,
program
in
colorado
and
we've
been
helping
with
the
marshall
fire
incentives,
and
I
also
have
michael
rusik
with
me.
His
mic
isn't
working
with
go
to
meeting
so
I
will
introduce
him
as
well.
He
is
the
program
manager
for
the
energy
star
new
homes
program
here
in
colorado,
with
residential
science
resources.
B
Great
rachel
grandma
do
I
just
come
on
and
say
hello,
real,
quick.
F
G
Yeah,
I'm
dave
lewis
with
sheffield
homes
working
with
nicole
and
we're
both
helping
with
the
new
sales
our
sales,
just
in
general,
with
sheffield
homes,
but
specifically
focusing
on
the
marshall
fires
right
now
and
all
the
all
the
clients
there.
B
B
Okay:
well
kyle's
with
boulder
creek
builders
and
he's
a
great
guy
and
zach.
Why
don't
you
go
next
with
a
little
bit
more
about
you
and
the
boulder
county
energy
smart
program.
H
Yeah
good
morning,
everyone,
my
name,
is
zach
swank,
I'm
the
built
environment
coordinator
for
boulder
county
and,
along
with
some
other
people,
robbie
and
rachel
among
them
manage
our
residential
energy
smart
program,
which
has
historically
been
focused
just
on
energy
efficiency
and
electrification
in
existing
homes.
H
But
with
the
marshall
fire,
we
have
pivoted
for
the
first
time
to
be
supporting
residential
new
construction.
So
you
may
know
the
energy
smart
name
as
retrofit
service,
or
you
may
not
know
it
at
all,
since
you
all
are
home
builders,
but
we've
been
around
for
over
10
years,
administering
rebates
and
advising
services
to
residential
homes
and
now
new
construction
as
well.
B
And
so
I
I'm
going
last
because
I'm
robbie
schwarz-
and
I
am
now
the
new
marshall
fire
new
homes
building
advisor
through
the
energy
star
smart
program-
that's
housed
again
in
in
boulder
county.
So
further
from
the
marshall
fire
perspective,
that's
unincorporated,
boulder
county
superior
and
louisville.
B
B
B
So
we
kind
of
put
up
put
together
this
list
of
things
that
I
can
do
and
can't
do,
and
I
can
send
this
out
as
well,
but
I'm
going
to
focus
really
on
what
I
can
can
do
rather
than
what
I
can't
do,
but
obviously
I'm
a
source
of
information.
B
I
can
help
get
information
out
to
builders
and
and
homeowners
that
you're
working
with,
if
you'd
like
to
I'm
steeped
in
all
the
codes
and
all
the
the
rebate
programs
and
how
to
navigate
through
them
and
what
you
might
need
to
do
to
change
your
assemblies
or
your
building
practices
to
achieve
any
of
the
incentive
programs.
There.
B
I'm
also
pretty
knowledgeable
on
building
science
and
and
whatnot
so
that
we
can
make
sure
that
you're
building
comfortable,
durable
energy
efficient
homes,
regardless
of
the
type
of
incentive
program
you
might
be
going
for
in
this
particular
case.
Therefore,
I
can
advise
on
construction
strategies
and
implementation
discuss
and
you
know,
from
a
building
science
perspective.
B
I
can
also
help
you
navigate
the
great
resource,
the
rebuildbetter.org
website,
which
is
up
there,
and
if
we
need
to
add
things
to
that,
we
I
can
help
get
things
added
to
that
resource
as
well.
There.
B
Obviously,
I
can
answer
questions
from
homeowners,
builders,
architects,
energy
consultants
that
you
might
be
working
with
and
we
can
figure
out
how
to
maximize
the
available
rebates
and
incentives
and
also
figure
out
how
to
potentially
build
in
the
most
cost
effective
way
to
to
achieve
that
goal,
and
then
I'm
also
a
resource
to
kind
of
be
a
liaison
between
builders
and
architects
on
behalf
of
the
homeowner,
if
there
are
questions
that
come
up
or
or
something
that
comes
up
in
that
well
that
realm
there.
B
So
hopefully,
while
I've
been
talking,
you
had
a
bit
of
a
chance
to
look
at
the
things
that
I
can't
do.
Those
are
are
really
kind
of
the
force
for
fee
based
services
that
a
normal
energy
consultant
would
would
be
doing.
For
you
my
background,
I
did
come
from
the
energy
rating
side
of
things
I
ho.
B
I
was
one
of
the
founders
and
partners
at
energy
logic
for
a
little
over
14
years
sold
my
interest
and
created
a
company
called
build
tank
that
that
does
kind
of
the
similar
things
but
tries
to
get
into
things
that
I
I
feel,
help
build
or
help
move
our
industry
forward.
So
I've
been
doing
a
lot
of
code,
education
taking
part
in
this
program
and
whatnot.
B
So
if
you
have
questions
about
what
I
can
do
or
how
I
can
help
or
any
suggestions
about
what
I
can
kind
of
direct
my
time
to
help
you
guys
the
most
very
open
to
hearing
what
you
have
to
say
and
interested
in
in
learning
more
about
what
what
would
be
best
for
you
guys
and
how
I
can
help
you
guys
the
most
there.
B
So
if
there's,
I
don't
know,
if
there's
any
questions
at
this
point,
but
maybe
we'll
just
pause
for
a
second
to
see.
If
that
anybody
had
a
question,
you
can
just
mute
yourself
and
ask
questions
at
any
time
really.
B
So
I
guess
we
had
some
questions
because
we
are
starting
to
do
outreach
to
make
sure
people
know
that
this
resource
is
out
there
and
there
and
we
kind
of
feel,
like
there's
kind
of
two
camps
in
essence
of
builders
that
are
taking
part
in
the
rebuild
they're
kind
of
the
larger
builders
which
you
guys
would
be
part
of
regional
production
builders,
and
I
believe,
there's
one
not
not
true
national
production
builder
homebound.
B
That's
not
not
on
the
call
right
now,
but
they
are
building,
I
believe
in
california
and
now
in
colorado
as
well
there.
So
we
think
that
there
there
may
be
some
needs
and
and
issues
that
you
guys
are
feeling
that
might
be
a
little
bit
different
from
the
traditional
custom
builder
out
there.
B
So
we
divide
it
we're
going
to
do
another
meeting
for
the
more
custom
builder,
smaller
builder
as
well
there,
but
we
wanted
to
get
a
little
bit
better
idea
of
how
things
are
going
for
you
and
if
there
are
any
non-incentive
based
questions
that
you're
getting
often
from
the
the
home
buyers
that
are
going
through
this
process
of
contracting
with
you
and
building
their
rebuilding
their
houses.
There
are
there
any
things
that
you're
seeing
that
are
kind
of
common
to
the
questions
that
you're
getting.
C
I'll
start
sure
so
sheffield
we're
we're
a
semi-custom
custom
builder
and
we've
been
working
with
energy
logic
for
a
while
on
the
homes
that
we
build.
We
build
everything
from
energy
star
up
to
passive
and
so
we're
fairly
familiar
with
the
process
of
building
in
this
realm
and
the
one
thing
that
has
been,
I
think,
a
little
challenging
to
get
our
hands
around
with
the
marshall
fire
rebuilds.
C
It
seems
like
the
excel
or
I'm
not
sure,
who's,
exactly
determining
what
goes
into
each
of
these
rebates
that
the
home
buyers
can
qualify
for.
They
haven't
finalized
those
performance
paths
yet
or
they
keep
changing.
And
so
then
these
blasts
go
out
to
our
home
buyers
and
then
we
get
emails.
Hey
have
you
seen
these
updates?
Have
you
seen
these
updates?
So
are
you
working
with
directly
with
excel
to
get
some
of
that
finalized
so
that
we
can
start?
B
So
I'm
going
to
reintroduce
eric
strait
with
residential
science
resources,
they're
a
subcontractor
to
excel
energy
that
helps
manage
these
incentive
programs,
and
I
think
he'd
be
best
to
answer
that
question.
E
Yeah,
so
a
couple
things:
first,
the
the
performance
we've
put
in
place
interim
performance
standards
for
the
the
standards
that
have
not
been
finalized
yet
or
do
not
have
energy
modeling
support.
Yet
so
because
energy,
star
version
3.2
next
gen
and
do
easier
energy
ready
version
2.
do
not
yet
have
modeling
support.
We
have
instituted
interim
performance
standards
to
meet
those
requirements.
E
I
I
believe
those
have
been
finalized
for
at
least
a
month
now
and
then,
once
they
have
energy
modeling
support
any
homes
permitted
after
that
we'll
go
through
the
standard
process.
What
they
are
still
working
on
finalizing
is
the
pre-qualification
process
and
the
final
submission
process,
but
the
performance
standards
and
the
requirements
are
are
set.
As
of
now.
B
Yeah
and
and
also
the
the
actual
rebate
or
incentive
dollar
amount,
is
finalized
and
has
been
for
quite
some
time.
H
And
nicole,
I'm
going
to
put
rob
buchanan's
info
in
the
chat
he's
the
guy
at
excel
behind
all
this
and
he
he
has
offered
he
he
wanted
to
be
here
today,
but
he
couldn't
make
it
he's
also
offered
you
know.
If
you
have
questions,
I
mean
robbie.
Definitely
like
go
to
robbie
robbie
can
answer
a
lot
of
questions.
Eric
can
answer
a
lot
of
your
questions.
H
You
know
eric
will
be
the
one
actually
implementing
this
program,
so
you
know
you'll,
be
speaking
with
eric
a
lot
going
forward
as
well,
but
I'll
put
rob
buchanan's
email
on
the
chat,
just
as
a
reference
for
everyone
too,.
C
We're
working
directly
with
energy
logic
and
we
just
received
a
whole
new
round
of
like
drafts
just
this
past
week
from
energy
logic,
and
then
we
had
one
of
our
home
buyers
reached
out
with
new
information
that
was
provided
by
the
city
of
louisville,
which
I
haven't
looked
at
yet,
but
I'm
assuming
it's
the
the
same
information.
So
I'll.
Look
at
what
that
you
know
what
the
updates
were,
but.
B
So
you
I,
I
think,
I'm
understanding
a
little
bit
better
which
what
might
be
confusing
and
that
that
is
the
the
program
like
if
you
take
energy
star,
for
example,
energy
star
is
the
energy
star
for
new
homes
program,
but
there
are
a
number
of
versions
of
that
program
that
have
been
released
over
the
years
since
its
implementation
and
the
most
recent
version
that's
been
released,
is
energy,
star
version
3.2
and
that
that
program,
that
version
of
the
program
has
been
in
a
draft
state
and
then
has
just
been
released.
B
I
I
think
in
its
final
state
that
you
can,
you
can
look
at
and
that's
my
guess
is
that's
kind
of
the
documentation
that
you've
gotten
the
incentive
payment
hasn't
changed.
Really
the
the
base
of
energy
star
hasn't
changed
it's
just
being
tied
to
the
2021
iecc,
rather
than
your
state
state
or
local
code.
Therefore,
it's
it's
kind
of
its
base
efficiency.
B
There.
The
same
thing
has
kind
of
happened
with
the
doe.
Zero
energy
ready
home
program
except
they're.
A
little
bit
further
behind
in
the
process,
but
they're
using
the
rebate
or
incentive
program,
is
using
the
dewey,
zero
energy
ready
home
program
version
two
and
there's
some
draft
documents
out
there
that
describe
what
that
version
requirements
are
and
though,
we're
working
off
of
those
draft
documents.
Now
it's
not
expected
that
those
are
going
to
change
and
those
requirements
are
going
to
change
much
at
all,
but
they
just
haven't
been
finalized
by
the
department
of
energy.
B
B
Yeah,
okay
and
then
the
next
gen,
the
energy
star
next
gen,
has
been
released
now
and
is
in
its
final
version
and
passivhaus
is,
is
kind
of
out
there
and
the
big
thing
to
know
about
passivhaus
is
that
there's
the
theist
or
passivhaus
international
us
version
of
passivhaus
and
there's
the
phi
or
the
european
version
of
passive
house
and
either
of
those
are
allowed
in
in
the
marshall
fire
rebuilt
for
the
incentive
program
there:
okay,
real
quick!
Are
there
any
other
kind
of
non-incentive
based
questions?
B
I
think
that's
a
good
one.
I
mean
it's
kind
of
incentive
based,
but
it's
more
programmatic
there
that
nicole
brought
up,
but
are
you
seeing
any
other
non-kind
of
incentive
based
questions
coming
about.
B
Okay,
well,
let's
just
move
into
the
incentive
base,
so,
as
I'm
gonna
have
zach
jump
in
here
and
talk
about
boulder
county
eligibility,
I
don't
know
if
people
even
knew
about
this
and
while
he
does
that,
I'm
going
to
pull
up
the
rebuild
better
website.
So
we
can
look
at
begin
to
look
at
that
as
well.
H
Yeah
so
folks
likely
know
that
that
boulder
county's
building
code
is
called,
build
smart
and
are
it's
based
off
the
the
2015
iacc,
but
it's
heavily
amended,
and
so
when
excel
came
out
with
their
7
500
incentive
for
being
on
2021
iecc
homes
being
built
in
unincorporated,
boulder
county
were
not
eligible
originally
for
that
7
500
incentive.
H
H
The
code
gets
more
stringent
for
larger
homes,
and
so
just
last
week,
working
with
excel,
we
were
able
to
secure
that
7
500
incentive
for
any
home
in
unincorporated
boulder
county,
because
they're
all
required
to
be
built
to
you
know
at
least
our
code
minimum,
so
that
7
500
incentive
now
applies
to
both
building
to
2021,
iecc
and
boulder
county
is
unique
in
the
world
code
called
buildsmart.
H
So
that's
an
exciting
thing
and
every
every
homeowner
in
an
incorporated
boulder
county
who
lost
a
home
in
the
marshall
fire,
will
now
be
able
to
take
advantage
of
that
7
500
incentive
or
you
know,
a
higher
incentive
for
higher
levels.
You
know
that
was
always
available,
but
up
till
now
they
were
not
eligible
for
that
7
500
incentive
just
for
building
to
code
in
them.
B
Great
thank
you
zach
and
just
a
quick
primer
on
the
rebuild
better
website.
This
is
a
great
resource
for
you,
but
you
get
to
the
main
website.
B
You
can
come
down
to
I'm
a
builder
section,
so
it's
divided
up
into
two
sections:
it's
always
a
good
idea
to
check
out
the
the
homeowner
side,
but
this
side
is
really
dedicated
to
builders
and
if
you
hit
that
section
and
you
continue
to
scroll
down,
you
can
get
to
the
rebate
baits
here,
and
this
is
the
first
rebate
category
or
incentive
category
that
zach
was
referring
to.
B
That
is
now
eligible
for
the
boulder
county
county
homes
that
suffered
through
the
marshall
fire
here
and
then
the
other
incentive
levels
here
and
then,
if
you
continue
down,
you'll
see
some
other
resources
and
this
will
continue
to
be
updated
and
improved.
But
these
are
some
trainings
webinars
that
happened
on
the
energy
star
3.2
program
and
the
dua
zero
energy
ready
homes
version
2
program.
So
you
can
come
in
and
look
at
those
as
well
and
just
work
your
way
through
the
website.
It's
a
great
resource
for
you
there.
B
So,
with
regards
to
those
incentives
that
I
was
just
showing,
we
were
wondering
which
incentive
programs
are
you
being
asked
more
about
or
are
there
are
there
actually
some
builders
that
are
some
homeowners
that
aren't
really
interested
in
the
incentive
programs?
And
we
might,
we
might
follow
that
question
with
as
with
a
big
they
aren't
interested
in
it.
C
They,
I
would
say
most
of
our
home
buyers
have
said
we'd
like
to
get
as
many
of
the
rebates
as
we
can.
Of
course,
they
don't
understand
some
of
the
costs
associated
with
some
of
the
different
levels,
fewer
people
interested
in
passive.
I
would
say
right
now.
I
only
have
one
or
two
that
are
absolutely
certain
that
they
want
to
go
the
route
of
passive,
but
they're,
definitely
interested
in
the
other
three
and.
C
Absolutely
we
already
build
all
the
way
up
to
passive
and
the
price
that
we're
quoting
to
our
buyers
is
probably
gonna
include
those
first,
two
levels
on
every
house
anyhow,
so
they're
gonna
all
be
eligible
without
even
asking
for
it
great
and.
C
Yeah,
like
I
said,
we've
worked
with
energy
logic
for
a
long
time,
so
we've
already
sent
plans
over
to
them
to
have
them
start
helping
us
work
on
those
for
specific
to
these
rebates.
C
B
Perfect
kyle,
I
don't
know
if
you're
microphone
is
working,
but
I
was
curious
about
the
same
same
questions.
Are
you?
Are
you
seeing
homeowners
ask
for
specific
rebate
levels
or
or
not.
I
Robbie,
I
I
haven't
been
directly
involved
with
meetings
with
the
buyers,
but
what
they're
telling
me
is
that
they
are
not
having
many
energy
rebate
hurdles
they.
They
seem
to
have
a
pretty
clear
path
on
what
their,
what
we're
going
to
do,
standard
and
and
understanding
you
know
what
they
what
they
could
potentially
upgrade
to,
but
I
think,
as
sheffield
said,
there's
there's
a
certain
level
coming
out
of
the
gates
that
they're,
I
think,
a
lot
of
people
where
will
accept
for
the
price.
B
Okay
and
is,
is
that
a
specific
incentive
level
that
you're
offering
as
a
standard.
I
Yeah
yep,
depending
on
the
product,
we
have
eight
different
plans
going,
so
it's
their.
The
levels
are
different
per
community,
essentially.
B
Yeah,
my
guess
is
that
you're
not
offering
passive
house,
but
you
offering
the
doe
zero
energy
ready
home
program.
H
In
kyle,
if
I
may,
can
you
share
what
is
that
base
level
that
you're
you're,
offering.
I
I
will
share
that
with
you
when
I
have
it
I'll
I'll.
Send
you
a
message:
okay,
great.
B
Great
and
then
I
think
everyone
else
maybe
peter
stewart
joined
us
peter.
Are
you
with
you're
not
with
sheffield
or
boulder
creek,
correct.
J
Oh
hi
good
morning,
yeah,
no,
I'm
working
with
diverge
homes.
B
Great
peter,
do
you
know
if
you
are
offering
any
of
these
incentive
programs
as
a
standard
package,
or
are
you
just
following
the
lead
of
the
homeowners
or
how
are
you
working
with
the
incentive
programs.
J
Well,
our
assumption
we
haven't
actually
modeled
a
one
of
our
projects,
yet
energy
modeled
it,
but
we're
in
that
process
now,
and
what
I
anticipate
is
that
we'll
meet
those
first
three
levels
easily
with
with
all
of
our
projects,
so.
D
J
Surprisingly,
on
our
from
what
I've
heard,
not
that
much,
you
know,
they're
asking
a
lot
about
build
costs,
which
is,
is
always
a
fluctuating
thing.
So
there's
yeah,
we
haven't
heard
a
lot
of
demand.
Well,
we've
had
a
few
that
are,
you
know
asking
for
the
higher
higher
performing
homes.
I
would
say
a
majority
of
our
homeowners
just
want
to
get
into
a
new
home.
B
Yeah,
and
do
you
feel
that
diverge
is
most
comfortable
with
with
one
of
the
levels
versus
the
other,
all
of
them.
J
B
Perfect
perfect,
maybe
the
next
question
is
we
could
go
around
and
see
if
there
are
any
barriers
that
you're
facing
to
actually
implement
the
the
building
incentives
there.
I
have
a
list
of
some
of
the
barriers
that
I
thought
that
you
might
be
able
to
see
on
your
screen
from
electrification
and
technology
and
just
general
knowledge
of
the
programs
and
building
practices.
B
Trade
partners
supply
chain.
Are
there?
Are
there
any
barriers
to
building
to
these
incentive
programs
that
we
might
be
able
to
help
you
with
or
that
you've
identified?
At
this
point.
J
Well,
I
can
say
from
our
end
the
biggest
barrier
we're
hitting
right
now
is
just
our
energy
raters
not
being
familiar
with
what
the
requirements
are
yet
and
you've
already
discussed
that
so.
E
Yeah,
if
you
want
to
put
them
in
contact
with
us,
we
can
reach
out
to
them
and
see
what
what
issues
they
have
and
try
to
help
them
understand
the
program
better.
D
B
Okay,
then,
that
kind
of
gets
us
to
a
segway,
2
kind
of
training.
There
are
the
the
rebuild
better
website
that
I
showed
is
a
great
resource
for
your
energy
professional
as
well
as
obviously
you
as
as
builders
and
and
architects.
You
might
be
working
with
there.
There
is
a
potential
that,
through
the
energy
smart
program,
that
we
can
offer
some
training
on
the
program
on
the
specifics
of
the
programs
and
whatnot.
B
B
Incentive
program
pathway,
emu
systems,
a
local
energy
consultant
and
trainer
on
passivhaus
is
located
in
colorado,
which
is
great,
there's
also
online
training
through
the
passive
house
u.s
network
and
there's
also
online
training
for
the
european
version.
The
phi
emu
systems
does
generally
specialize
more
in
the
european
phi
version
of
passivhaus
and
then
there's
the
colorado
green
building
guild
located
in
boulder.
That's
been
doing
some
trainings
and
and
other
webinars
as
well
that
you
might
go
on
to
their
site
and
check
out
what's
available
there
and
what's
coming
up
there.
H
As
well
with
the
building
guild,
they're
standing
up
a
sort
of
a
shadow,
a
passive
house,
architect
type
program
where
a
local
architect
could
partner,
who
you
know,
is
maybe
not
as
familiar
with
designing
a
passive
house,
could
partner
with
a
more
experienced
architect
who's,
not
in
the
area.
H
B
So
the
the
next
thing
we
wanted
to
talk
about
is,
if
you
are
hearing
any
rumbles
from
your
homeowners
about
electrification
and
the
electrification
incentives.
The
energy
star
next
gen
incentive
program
is
builds
on
top
of
the
energy
star
3.2
program
and
takes
that
house
to
an
all
basically
an
all-electric
house.
It's
not
quite
all
electric.
B
You
still
are
allowed
to
have
a
gas
fireplace,
and
I
believe,
a
gas
barbecue,
for
example,
but
your
core
appliances,
like
your
heating,
cooling
systems,
your
hot
water
systems
and
your
cooking,
would
all
be
electric,
and
then
you
also,
I
believe,
are
required
to
have
solar,
solar
pv
on
your
house
in
that
program
as
well
and
then
zach.
Maybe
you
could
talk
a
little
bit
about
the
new
colorado
electric
electrification
incentive
program.
B
H
Yeah
thanks
robbie,
so
senate
bill
2022-206
the
disaster
recovery
bill
passed
in
the
final
day
of
the
legislative
session
this
year
and
that
included
a
number
of
things,
mainly
though
15
million
dollars
to
go
towards
disaster
recovery
to
be
administered
by
the
state
department
of
local
affairs
and
20
million
dollars
to
go
towards
disaster
recovery
to
be
administered
by
the
state
colorado
energy
office,
and
this
is
for
it
was
prompted
by
the
marshall
fire,
but
these
create
permanent
funds
and
a
permanent
disaster
resilience
or
disaster
recovery
officer
within
the
colorado
energy
office.
H
But
the
energy
office
has
been
working
quickly
to
try
and
allocate
the
marshall
fire
related
funds,
and
so
they
have
come
up
with
a
ten
thousand
dollar
incentive
for
electrifying
your
heating,
hot
water,
heating
and
cooking
for
homes
that
were
lost
in
the
marshall
fire.
So
that
has
was
announced
at
a
lewisville
community
meeting
last
week.
But
we
have
not
yet
the
colorado
energy
office
has
not
yet
gotten
the
press
release
out
about
it.
H
The
county
will
be
sending
a
press
release
about
it
soon
and
we'll
be
putting
it
up
on
the
website
soon.
I'm
just
waiting
confirmation
but
and
they're
still
working
on.
H
You
know
the
implementation
details
of
that,
but
any
home
that's
built
to
at
least
2021
iecc
or
to
boulder
county's
build
smart
program
or
any
of
the
higher
incentive
levels,
which
sounds
like
what,
where
many
of
you
are
going,
if
they
electrify
those
three
appliances,
they
would
be
eligible
for
that
incentive
and
again,
like
energy
star
next
gen,
there's,
not
a
there's,
not
a
prohibition
on
a
gas
connection.
It's
just
you
know.
H
Primary
heat,
hot
water,
heating
and
cooking
has
to
be
electrified
to
earn
that
10
000
incentive,
which
obviously
pairs
very
well
with
the
energy
star,
gen
certification,
which
has
those
same
requirements
as
well
as
zero
energy
ready
homes,
which
is
you
know
not
requiring
electrification
of
those
appliances
but
requiring
that
it
may
be
ready
to
be
electrified.
H
So
you
add
that
ten
thousand
dollars
senate
and
send
it
easily
to
the
twelve
thousand
dollars
from
for
zero
energy
ready
homes
or
the
seventeen
five
for
energy
star
next
gen.
So
those
do
stack
so,
for
example,
for
energy
star
next
gen
a
homeowner
would
now
get
27
500.
B
Yeah,
so
it's
it's
pretty
pretty
good
incentive
to
to
do
that
so
are.
Are
you
are
any
of
you
hearing
interest
in
electrification
in
part
of
your
rebuilding.
G
Yeah
I
mean,
I
would
say
some
of
the
louisville
people
are
definitely
interested
in
that
we've
had
some
some
of
those
questions
for
sure
that
you
know,
even
if
the
code
doesn't
require
it,
they
still
want
to
pursue
it.
So
back
to
the
the
incentives
there
they
really
do
stack.
I
thought
it
was
just
you
kind
of
each.
H
Yeah,
let
me
that's
that's
a
great
thing
to
clarify.
So
excels
incentives,
don't
stack
so
you
know
what's
what's
on
the
screen,
there
doesn't
stack,
however,
there's
this
new
incentive,
which
is
not
yet
you
know
on
the
screen
there
from
the
colorado
energy
office
happens
to
be
ten
thousand
dollars.
It
is
not
tied
to
any
energy
star
or
department
of
energy
program.
It's
just
tied
to
you
know
is
the
heating.
H
B
Yeah,
so
one
of
the
things
I
wanted
to
bring
up
was
some
of
the
the
key
barriers
to
electrification
for
when
homeowners
are
are
looking
at
electrification
and
and
one
of
the
biggest
ones
is
gas
fireplace
and
gas
barbecue.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
it's
clear
that
the
next
gen
program
and
the
colorado
incentive
for
electrification
don't
prohibit
the
use
of
a
gas
fireplace
or
a
a
barbecue
out
there.
F
Sure
yeah,
so
specifically
with
that
induction
lending
program,
we
are
offering
portable
induction
cooktops
along
with
compatible
cookware,
so
one
fry
pan,
essentially
in
one
pot
that
works
along
with
there's
people
likely
have
cookware
that
they
could
use
as
well
and
they're
allowed
to
check
it
out
for
two
weeks
from
us.
We
do
have
a
short
wait
list
right
now.
Nothing
too
crazy,
but
people
can
check
it
out
for
two
weeks
to
just
give
induction
a
shot,
see
what
it's
like
really
get
an
understanding
of.
F
If
it's
going
to
work
for
them
that
way,
they
can
better
make
a
decision
on
cooking.
I
know
induction
is
kind
of
it's
talked
about
a
lot,
but
a
lot
of
people
haven't
seen
it
work,
so
we
just
want
to
give
people
this
opportunity
to
see
how
it
works
and
get
a
taste
of
it
in
order
to
make
their
decision.
F
Oh
you're,
good
and
I'll
say
people
can
sign
up
for
the
induction
lending
program.
It's
on
the
rebuilding
better
website
in
the
equipment
discounts
page
with
where
you
find
the
excel
incentives,
solar
resources,
things
like
that,
there's
a
tab
for
induction
and
they
can
get
to
the
sign
up
form
there.
H
Robbie
I'd
be
curious
to
hear
from
from
others.
You
know
sheffield
boulder
creek
if
they're,
if
they're
hearing
about
folks
wanting
to
I
guess
sheriff
had
larry
said
but
from
others.
If
they're
hearing
about
their
clients
wanting
to
electrify.
B
Yeah
kyle
or
peter,
maybe
you
can
jump
in
zach.
I
I
don't
have
that
information
buddy.
I
apologize
it's
the
person,
that's
that's
having
those
meetings,
I'm
I'm
kind
of
sitting
in
for,
but
I'm
writing
these
notes
to
get
you
that
information.
H
Cool
yeah,
we
appreciate
it,
it
helps
us
understand.
You
know
that
the
demand
that's
out
there,
knowing
the
demand
that's
out.
There
helps
us
understand
how
to
be
most
supportive
to
the
rebuild
effort,
and
you
know
is
it
that
homeowners
need
more
education
about
the
incentives
or
about
the
advantages,
or
is
it
that
you
know
the
demand
is
already
there
and
you
know
we
can
move
on
to
support
in
other
areas.
So
I
really
appreciate
you
getting
that
information.
J
Yeah,
I
can
say
from
just
my
my
contacts
with
homeowners.
Is
I'm
just
really
surprised
that
there's
not
a
lot
more
interest
in
electrification,
because
we
all
know
where
that's
going
and
the
benefits
of
it.
But
my
impression
is:
there's
just
a
lot
of
hesitation.
People
have
always
had
a
gas
heater,
you
know
furnace
and
water
heater
and
that's
what
they're
used
to
and
there's
just
a
lot
of
entropy
in
terms
of
that.
B
Great
thank
you.
So
I
just
wanted
to
show
you.
This
is
where
rachel
was
talking
about
the
induction
cooking.
This
is
the
rebates
and
discounts
incentives.
It's
easy
to
get
there.
If
you
go
to
the
toolkit,
go
up
to
rebates
and
incentives
and
then
just
scroll
down
and
this
line
here
the
next
one
that
I
wanted
to
point
out.
Was
this
one
with
regards
to
equipment
and
discounts
here
so
zach
again,
would
you
mind
talking
to
the
discounts
that
are
available.
H
Yeah,
so
we
have
this
listed
under
the
homeowner
section,
but
it's
really
probably
more
relevant
to
the
builders,
since
you
would
be
the
ones
actually
sourcing,
the
equipment
that
you're
going
to
be
putting
into
the
homes,
but
we've
had
a
number
of
folks
reach
out
from
ground
source
heat
pump
manufacturers
to
air
source,
both
minchi
bc
and
daikin,
with
offers
of
discounts
and
support
for
equipment.
H
H
H
Yeah
20
discount
for
heat
pump,
hot
water
heaters,
but
it's
a
it's
a
bulk
purchase
discount,
so
you
would
need
to
purchase
at
least
100
of
them.
So
it's
not
something
that
the
individual
homeowner
can
access
and-
and
I
would
I
would
expect
that
you
know
most
custom
builders
supporting
the
the
rebuild
effort-
also
wouldn't
be
billing
that
volume.
B
And
it
just
dawned
on
me
that
maybe
we
could
do
a
co-op
buy
in
essence.
If,
if
you
all
are
interested,
we
could
see
if
we
could
buy
in
this
bulk
discount,
someone
would
probably
have
to
house
them
somewhere,
but
then
we
could
distribute
to
them
around
to
the
different
builders
on
the
call.
So
I
can
call
and
find
out
about
that
if
people
are
interested
I'm
there,
so
we
wanted
to
make
sure
that
you
were
aware
of
these
other
kind
of
incentives.
B
There's
also
some
builder
incentives
that
are
still
available.
There's
the
normal
energy
star
for
new
homes
program,
which
is
an
incentive
program
specifically
where
the
money
goes
specifically
back
to
the
builder
and
maybe
eric
you
could
talk
real
quick
about
that.
I
imagine
most
of
you
are
aware
of
that,
but.
E
Yeah,
so
the
energy
star,
new
homes
program
is
a
builder
incentive
program.
It
is
performance
based,
but
there
are
additional
prescriptive
incentives
available
as
well.
If
you
meet
the
performance
requirements
to
qualify,
you
just
have
to
have
excel
providing
the
gas
and
they
can
also
provide
the
electric
or,
if
it's
all,
electric,
they
provide
the
electric.
E
The
incentives
are
tiered,
based
on
the
percent
better
than
code
that
the
home
achieves,
and
that
code
is
the
underlying
code.
E
So
for
the
2021
we
just
released
new
incentives,
additional
incentives
for
the
2021,
since
it
is
a
stricter
code
and
the
the
minimum
qualifying
percentage
is
10
better
than
code
and,
as
I
said,
it
goes
up
every
5,
after
that
we
do
have
accelerated
rebates
for
all
electric.
So
if
you
do
have
those
homeowners
who
are
interested
in
the
next
gen
program
and
the
colorado
state
incentive
for
that,
those
rebates
are
higher
for
the
builder
as
well
and
it's
a
herds-based
program.
So
your
energy
rater
manages
pretty
much
all
that
for
you.
E
D
B
And
then
the
last
one
I
just
wanted
to
give
you
a
heads
up
of
where
the
45l
federal
tax
credit-
I
don't
know
if
any
of
you
have
taken
advantage
of
that.
It's
also
a
tax
credit
that
it's
also
documented.
I
guess,
through
your
energy
rater
there,
they
can
print
out
a
form
that
you
would
send
to
your
tax
accountant
in
order
to
get
the
credit.
B
The
credit
did
expire
at
the
end
of
last
year
or
at
the
end
of
2021
and
but
in
the
past,
and
it's
expected
in
the
future
that
it
will
get
reauthorized
and
be
retroactively
reauthorized.
B
The
kind
of
trick
this
time
is
that
in
the
reauthorization
they
have
proposed
to
change
the
qualifications
for
the
tax
credit.
It's
currently
at
two
thousand
dollars,
they're
they're,
proposing
to
raise
it
to
twenty
five
hundred
dollars
and
have
it
as
a
tier
and
then
the
next
tier
would
be
five
thousand
dollars
and
then
link
the
qualification
for
the
tax
credit
to
the
energy
star
program.
B
I
believe
it
would
be
the
3.2
version
of
that,
but
it's
not
unclear.
Yet,
if
that's
true
or
not,
so
you
get
twenty.
Five
hundred
dollars
at
energy,
star
level
and
five
thousand
dollars
at
the
doe
zero
energy
ready
home
level.
There
might
be
some
additional
caveats
there
that
that
haven't
been
released
yet,
but
and
also
that
legislation
hasn't
made
it
through
the
house
and
the
senate
on
a
federal
level
as
of
yet,
but
it
is
expected
it's.
B
It
was
part
of
the
buildback
better
larger
bill,
they're,
expecting
that
it
will
be
taken
out
of
that
bill
and
and
put
somewhere
else,
and
so
it
can
pass
in
as
an
individual
measure
there.
B
We
just
don't
know
when
that
will
happen,
so
you
should
keep
your
your
eyes
open
for
that
and-
and
it's
always
recommended
that
you
request
that
documentation
from
your
energy
rater
at
the
same
time,
they're
documenting
compliance
with
whatever
programs
you're
you're
working
with,
so
that
you
have
that
that
documentation
in
hand
and
ready
to
go
and
if
it,
if
that
documentation
changes
because
of
the
reauthorization
if
they
they're
that's
the
energy
rater
is
also
your
resource
for
the
new
documentation
there,
so
we're
getting
close
to
time
here.
B
I
don't
want
to
take
too
much
of
your
time
and
I
was
hoping
that
people
might
be
willing
to
share
a
little
bit
about
what
how
many
homes
you're
expecting
to
rebuild.
You
know
what
your
goal
are
in
getting
homeowners
to
go
under
contract
with
you
and
how
many
current
current
contracts
you
might
have
as
well.
So,
if
you're
comfortable,
sharing
that
information
we'd
be
appreciative
of
that.
I
Robbie
we
currently
have
probably
30
35
letters
of
intent
with
with
an
expectation
of
around
150,
of
what
we're
thinking
we
might
do.
B
Anyone
else
yeah,
I
know
that's
a
little
bit
sensitive
information,
but
I
appreciate
that.
I
think
there
are
a
lot
of
obviously
a
lot
of
people
in
need
of
your
skills
and
we
wish
you
the
best
in
in
working
with
them
as
well.
B
B
I'm
a
new
resource,
that's
available
to
you
and
we'll
do
our
best
at
answering
any
questions
that
you
have
and
if
we
can't
answer
it
off
the
top
of
our
heads,
we're
committed
to
researching
it
and
getting
you
the
best
answers
that
we
can
so
take
advantage
of
the
resource
that's
available
to
you.
H
Yeah,
just
just
ask
kyle
nicole
peter
david
was
this:
was
this
useful
to
you?
Was
this
valuable
to
you?
Would
it
be
useful
to
have
you
know
another?
H
You
know
sort
of
open
hour
office
hours
with
this
group
with
robbie
with
eric
in
the
future
or
one-on-one
follow-ups.
You
know
really.
One
of
the
main
purposes
that
we
wanted
to
have.
This
call
today
was
to
understand
how
we
can
best
support
you.
You
know
specifically
on
the
high
performance
elements,
so
we
just
love
to
hear
final
thoughts
from
you
on
how
we
can
do
that.
J
Well,
I'm
sorry
go
ahead,
you
know
I'm
I'm
the
architect
on
the
team,
so
you
know
there's
a
lot
of
other
people.
J
I
guess
over
my
head
in
terms
of
you,
know,
direct
contact
with
clients
and
any
and
that
type
of
thing,
but
for
me
yeah,
this
has
been
great
confirmation
of
the
programs,
as
I
already
understood
them,
and
just
really
awesome
to
have
the
kind
of
support
you
guys
are
able
to
lend
to
us
as
we
move
through
through
the
process,
so
really
appreciate
that.
C
In
regards
to,
should
we
do
this
like
on
a
regular
basis?
I
don't
know,
maybe
we
should
just
see
as
things
kind
of
progress.
I
think
it's
nice
to
know
that
the
resources
are
available
and
I
actually
think
I
mean
I
have
the
contacts.
C
I
think
that
I
would
need
if
we
have
questions
moving
forward,
it's
nice
to
know
that
there
is
a
group,
that's
kind
of
becoming
not
an
authority
but
kind
of
a
know
all
because
it
does
seem,
like
you
know,
peop,
depending
on
who
you
talk
to
they
just
kind
of
know,
they're,
part
and
piece,
but
not
kind
of
the
whole
of
these
programs.
So
that's
good.
I
think
at
some
point,
probably
in
the
near
future.
After
we've
worked
with
energy
logic
a
little
bit
further
on.
C
You
know,
specifically
the
changes
that
we
need
to
make
in
our
building
to
make
sure
that
our
buyers
are
eligible
for
the
rebates
that
you
know.
Maybe
at
that
point
it
makes
sense
to
invite
one
of
you
in
if
we
have
some
questions
or-
and
you
know
come
up
against
some
obstacles
at
that
point
like
how
do
we
overcome
these
cert
specific
obstacles?
But
I
I
would
say
this
was
helpful
but
just
be
available.
I
guess,
as
we
need
help
moving
forward.
H
I'm
gonna
update,
robbie's
email
address,
there's
a
little
typo
in
there.
So
I'll
give
everybody
the
right
one
kyle.
What
about
from
you.
I
No,
I
agree
with
nicole
that
this
is.
This
was
a
great
connection
of
a
bunch
of
people
and
professionals
involved
in
this
that
we
can
reach
out
to
and
rely
on.
You
know
the
the
equipment,
discounts
and
things
were
something
I
wasn't
aware
of
that,
I'm
going
to
definitely
pass
on
immediately
here.
I
I
thought
that
was
that
was
huge,
and
then
you
know
connecting
with
other
builders.
I
see
that
there's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
need
of
communication
in
these
communities
where
we're
all
working
together
and
we're
going
to
have
to
have
a
significant
amount
of
communication
and
flexibility
with
each
other.
B
Yeah,
I
think,
as
construction
starts,
that's
going
to
be
key
because
they're
going
to
be
a
bunch
of
different
builders
and
communities
and
logistics
of
dropping
materials
and
getting
around
each
other
is
going
to
be
probably
more
intense
than
a
normal.
Large
large
community
build
site.
E
Yeah
and
as
I'll
add
as
you're
working
with
your
your
raiders
designing
these
homes,
if
you
or
they
have
any
questions
or
uncertain
about
anything,
feel
free
to
reach
out
to
us,
we're
more
than
happy
to
help
out
and
make
sure
that
the
homes
are
meeting
the
intent
of
the
program
and
we're
not
looking
to
withhold
rebates
from
anybody.
We
want
to
give
these
rebates
to
the
homeowners
and
we're
not
looking
to
you
know
not
pay
out
on
a
technicality
or
something
so
feel
free
to
use
us
as
a
resource
as
well.
C
Are
you
guys
reaching
out
to
the
hers,
raiders
and
making
sure
they
have
the
most
current
information?
Or
I
mean?
Are
you
like
doing
this,
for
them
seems
like
that
would
be
super
beneficial
because,
like
we're
leaning
on
energy
logic-
and
it
sounds
like
they
have
the
most
current
but
like
when
we
met
with
them?
Just
last
week,
they
had
said
the
builder
rebates,
don't
apply
for
the
marshall
fire
rebuilds
that
those
are
only
new
home
construction,
otherwise,
so
just.
C
K
Yeah
we've
done
we've
done
kind
of
a
town
hall
like
this
with
the
raiders
at
the
outset,
but
it
might.
We
can
probably
set
up
another
call
eric
and
just
kind
of
reiterate
and
make
sure
everybody's
on
the
same
page
yeah.
That's.
A
K
Yep
yep,
I
think,
yeah.
Now
we've
got
more
information
than
we
had
at
the
beginning.
We
can
do
a
follow-up
with
them.
We
have
been
doing
email
blasts
to
keep
them
in
the
loop,
but
maybe
a
another.
Another
sit
down
would
be
a
good
thing.
K
The
other
thing
I
would
suggest
is
when
that
pre-approval
app
gets
released,
it's
going
to
be
optional,
but
I
would
suggest
doing
it
for
your
projects
that
way
eric
and
I
and
excel
were
aware
of
each
project
as
it's
moving
through,
because,
typically
that
pre-approval
is
going
to
come
in
before
we
see
the
project
in
our
system
and
that'll
just
keep
us
in
the
loop.
So
we
know
that
it's
coming
and
what
to
expect
and-
and
we
can
help
then
proactively-
help
that
project
through
the
process
as
well.
E
And
it
is
optional
for
everything
except
passive
house.
Passive
housing
is
required.
H
Yeah,
I
was
gonna,
say
steve
if
you
yeah,
I
saw
you
just
popped
on.
If
you
wanted
to
hang
on
the
line,
we
could
give
you
the
10
minute
rundown
of
what
was
covered
in
in
the
last
hour.
