A
Good
evening,
everyone
we're
just
a
little
delayed.
We
have
the
media
joining
us
this
evening,
so
we
want
to
afford
them
the
opportunity
to
set
up
and
so
that
we're
as
transparent
as
we
can
be
with
the
community,
so
sorry
for
the
delay,
this
coffee
and
snacks.
In
the
meantime,
if
you
like
to
partake
help
yourself.
B
B
B
B
A
All
right
good
evening,
everyone
welcome
to
the
Board
of
Education
business
meeting
on
this
Thursday
November
17th
I
like
to
ask
everyone
to
rise
for
the
pledge.
Thank
you
pledge
allegiance
to
the
flag
of
the
United
States
of
America
and
to
the
Republic
for
which
it
stands.
One
nation
under
God,
indivisible
with
liberty
and
justice
for
all.
A
C
Absolutely
thank
you
Miss
Felix,
good
evening.
Everyone
we
actually
are
excited
to
introduce
a
few
people
that
are
heroes
to
us.
For
many
reasons,
and
it's
going
to
be
my
pleasure
actually
to
introduce
I
believe
I'm
going
to
introduce
Miss
Palmer
first
and
we
have
I,
see
Mr
Morris
Miss
Briones.
Are
you
also
going
to
speak
tonight
or
is
it
just
Miss
Palmer?
C
Just
you?
Okay,
all
right
they're
here
for
because
it's
a
North
Northeast,
oh
I'm,
sorry
I,
said
Northeast,
I'm,
sorry,
Miss,
Cortese,
I'm,
sorry,
I
have
to
I
got
my
North
mixed
up.
I
apologize,
Miss
Cortese!
That's
it
two
North
Stars
Miss
Cartesian!
Will
you
be
speaking
as
well
come
on
up
come
on
up
so
Miss
Palmer?
Could
you
introduce
our
first
recipient.
D
Sure
I
will
start.
We
know
that
we
know
that
November
is
National
gratitude
month
right
and
it
encourages
us
to
embrace
the
power
of
gratitude,
and
we
want
to
thank
people
for
going
out
above
and
beyond,
thank
people
for
their
dedication
and
their
commitment
to
our
students,
and
we
have
two
women
here
tonight:
one
teacher
assistant
and
one
monitor
who
are
being
acknowledged
by
their
school
Community
for
their
unwavering
commitment
to
children
and
for
their
quick
action
and
thought
under
under
pressure
and
stress.
D
In
October,
Miss
Annette
arocho
from
Northeast
was
supervising
students
in
the
cafeteria
when
a
child
began
to
choke
what
I
believe
was
on
it
on
an
orange
and
was
unable
to
breathe.
When
Mr
Rojo
responded,
she
responded
immediately
and
she
had
administered
the
Heimlich
maneuver,
potentially
saving
the
child's
life
and
also
ending
what
was
a
scary
moment
for
that
child
and
she's.
Here
with
us
tonight,
I'd
like
Mr
rocho.
Please
stand.
D
E
D
D
D
Miss
Banks
immediately
noticed
that
something
was
wrong.
She
grabbed
the
child.
She
saw
that
he
wasn't
fooling
around
right
and
she
began
to
Pat
his
back
quickly
and
then
she
rushed
him
to
the
nurse
where
they
were
able
to
dislodge
it
and
make
the
child
feel
safe
and
comfortable
and
stress-free.
So
we
want
to
at
this
time
thank
these
two,
ladies
for
their
quick
thinking,
the
heroic
action
and
always.
A
A
C
C
D
C
C
She's
at
just
an
incredibly
delightful
young
lady
who
is
focused
on
community
service,
obviously
joining
the
Army.
You
know,
which
is
a
tremendous
sacrifice,
but
she
also
is
focused
on
her
career
and
for
helping
this
country.
But
what
was
really
neat?
She
actually
received
the
scholarship
at
a
Jets
game
which,
if
you're
following
the
Jets
they're,
actually
doing
fabulous.
So
that
was
good
and
we're
gonna
show
the
clip
before
we
introduce
faustina.
C
F
So
these
are
Minuteman
scholarships
and
then
for
the
reserve
offices,
training
Corps.
So
these
are
these
are
given
to
citizen
service
members
or,
in
this
case
soldiers
who
work
both
in
their
Community
but
also
serve
part-time
in
either
the
Army
National
Guard
or
the
Army
Reserve.
F
It's
an
awesome
opportunity
to
recognize
the
talents
of
the
people
of
America
right
to
to
recognize
that
and
to
be
able
to
pay
for
their
University
experience
and
at
the
end
of
it
they
commission,
as
an
officer
in
one
of
the
services
for
a
period
of
time,
so
they
pursue
dual
Pursuits
I.
Think
that's
pretty
cool
and.
G
Overall,
the
experience
was
very
overwhelming
and
nobody
even
knows
I'm
truly
grateful
for
this.
You
know
you
never
think
something
like
this
would
happen
to
you,
especially
at
17..
So
just
that
experience,
what
I've
experienced
so
far
like
I
can
truly
say,
like
I
appreciate
everything
that's
happening.
I
can
make
an
actual
impact.
Now,
like
I,
can
do
more.
I,
don't
have
to
worry
about
the
financial
aspect
anymore.
Now
everybody
gets
that
type
of
experience
or
that
chance,
I
was
really
overwhelmed.
I
was.
H
Really
happy
like
I
didn't
know
what
to
do.
I
was
so
happy.
My
grandfather,
who
was
in
the
military
back
in
Ghana
I'm
from
Ghana,
so
I
wanted
to
join
the
musician.
Because
of
that,
and
also
it's
good
for,
like
young
people
like
me
to
like
set
ourselves
up
for
like
the
future
and
also
it's
discipline,
so
I
wanna
have
a
discipline
character,
so
I
was
like
yeah
I
need
to
join
them.
C
So
it
is
my
pleasure
right
now
to
introduce
Dr
Doolin,
who
is
going
to
introduce
faustina.
Then
we're
also
going
to
introduce
Sergeant
Parson,
who
actually
is
our
army
liaison?
Who
is
really
been
a
terrific
addition
to
the
Brentwood
Community
and
is
she's
completely
focused
on
getting
as
much
money
and
giving
as
much
opportunities
to
our
Brentwood
kids
as
possible,
so
we're
going
to
introduce
Sergeant
Parsons.
In
just
a
moment,
foreign.
I
I
She
is
an
extraordinary
student.
She
is
one
of
our
model,
students
on
her
Regents
exams.
She
scored
above
average
one
of
the
highest
grades
in
our
entire
building.
I
can't
speak
enough
about
her
contributions
to
the
school.
When
I
saw
this
clip
this
week,
I
just
thought
about
I
have
something
in
my
office.
That
said
she
believed
she
could
so
she
did.
C
J
My
goal
here
is
just
to
get
as
many
students
and
scholarship
as
I
can
I
was
able
to
get
it
for
one
student
from
here
last
year
and
this
year
they
gave
me
an
unlimited
number.
So
if
you
know
any
students
that
needs
a
way
to
pay
for
school,
I'll
be
more
than
happy
to
help
them.
Placing
is
my
first
student
this
year,
I've
been
working
around
since
last
year
and
she's
amazing.
So.
C
H
Right
so
I
want
to
go
to
school,
to
study,
biology
and
become
anesthesiologist
leader,
but
I'm
really
happy
today
for
the
honor
that
y'all
have
heard
of
me.
I'm
really
happy.
Oh.
A
B
A
B
C
B
B
L
L
This
ride
will
be
hosted,
10
a.m.
To
1
pm.
We
will
also
have
a
youth
Town
Hall
at
the
Brentwood
High
School
tomorrow,
at
6
00
P.M
to
7
P.M
with
Suffolk
County
Executive
Steve
ballon
I'd
also
bring
I'd
also
I'd,
also
like
the
shed
light
on
a
new
event.
We
had
at
the
high
school
this
past
Tuesday,
we
held
a
mix
it
up
day,
support
staff
provided
fun
activities
and
prizes
during
each
lunch
period
for
students
who
participated,
students
were
given
the
opportunity
to
share
fun
facts
about
themselves
and
made
new
friends.
L
We've
also
brought
Latina
mentoring
to
the
high
school.
We
are
partnered
with
various
professional
mentors
from
outside
locations
to
help
our
bilingual
students,
we'd
also
like
to
mention
that
we've
had
new
college
visits
and
tours
that
students
can
register
for
with
Miss
Ferguson
in
the
college
room.
So
far
this
year
we
visited
St
Joseph
College
Suny
Fredonia,
Liu,
post
Farmingdale
and
just
today
students
went
to
visit
HBC.
E
Another
activity
currently
going
on
in
the
high
school
is
a
college
essay
Workshop
English
teachers
are
helping
students
added
their
college
essays
before
submitting
their
college
application.
The
college
counselor
Miss
Ferguson
is
the
one
in
charge
of
this
event
and
she
has
been
helping
out
seniors,
get
through
the
college
application
process,
which
is
something
we're
very
thankful
for,
as
it
is
pushing
us
closer
to
our
Dream
schools.
So
we
would
like
to
thank
Ms
Ferguson.
E
In
addition,
students
from
the
ROTC
and
the
National
Honor
Society
are
participating
in
the
New
York
State
mentoring
program,
which
they
will
be
assigned
a
student
from
an
elementary
school
from
our
community,
and
they
will
serve
as
a
as
a
young
leader
to
that
they
can
look
up
to
and
the
training
was
on.
Tuesday
November,
15.,
Minaj
and
I
are
part
of
it.
So
we're
very
happy
that
we're
gonna
be
helping
little
kids
in
our
community
to
become
leaders
like
us.
E
Also,
the
drama
club
in
the
high
school
is
having
a
a
play.
This
Friday
and
Saturday
in
the
Sunderland
auditorium
at
7
30
pm,
and
they
will
be
performing
Night
of
the
Living
Dead.
A
lot
of
students
have
been
working
on
the
play
for
months,
so
it
will
be
awesome
if
a
lot
of
you
could
come
with
your
families
to
enjoy
the
play.
E
E
L
L
We
had
a
couple
of
meetings
with
her
she's
really
helped
us
like
pick
up
after
everything
and
help
us
put
together.
Our
talking
points
like
we
usually
do
so.
Thank
you
again.
You've.
M
L
We'd
also
like
to
talk
about
the
taste
testing
that
occurred
in
sonderling
and
Ross
cafeterias.
We
I
believe
I
went
to
the
Sunderland
taste
testing,
which
I
was
really
impressed
with
the
food
was
actually
really
good.
I
did
force
a
couple
of
my
friends
to
go.
Who
didn't
have
my
expectations,
but
after
they
tasted
the
food,
they
were
actually
really
shocked
at
how
good
it
was
so
definitely
commenced
to
everyone
who
helped
with
that
and
I
wasn't
able
to
taste
the
food
ever
us,
but
I
got
very
good
feedback
from
them.
L
Testing
and
I
was
also
hoping
that
if
future
taste
testings
were
to
occur
that,
hopefully
we
could
have
maybe
a
small
survey
which
we
could
set
up
like
a
QR
code,
maybe
a
form
that
people
could
electronically
fill
out
because,
as
a
research
student
I
feel
like
it's
important
that
when
we're
doing
taste,
taste,
testing
and
statistical
analysis
in
a
large
population
of
students,
it's
good
to
have
solid
data
so
that
we
can
see
what
foods
are
working
and
which
ones.
L
I'd
also
like
to
ask
if
there
are
any
updates
with
the
computer
towers
that
were
supposed
to
be
installed
in
the
computer
labs
I
did
hear
that
stuff
from
it
came
to
look
at
the
rooms
to
see
how
they
would
fit.
But
I
was
wondering
if
you
had
any
updates
with
that.
C
I
do
I
do
have
some
updates
and
that's
why
I
apologize
I've
been
looking
at
my
phone
only
because
I
have
the
updates
front
of
meal,
otherwise
I
would
never
be
looking
at
my
cell
phone.
But
yes-
and
we
do
appreciate-
you
know
you
folks
telling
us
about
this
last
month
and
obviously
we
do
do
react
when
you
bring
up
some
concerns
and
I
I
might
get
the
numbers
wrong,
but
I
believe
that
we've
offered
we've
ordered
close
to
a
thousand
computers.
C
We've
migrated
from
a
Thin
Client
to
a
thick
client
is
that
what
it's
called
okay,
wow
I,
actually
I
got
that
correct,
so
A
Thin
Client
with
the
client
I
think
I
I
hope
that
you're
seeing
some
improvements
in
that
particular
classroom
already
so
I
did
just
mention.
You
know
that
we
ordered
computers.
They
were
ordered
a
few
weeks
back,
hopefully,
they'll
come
in
very
soon
and
then
we'll
get
them
installed.
As
I
mentioned,
it
was
upwards
of
a
thousand
computers.
C
We
spent
a
considerable
amount
of
money
on
it
which
we're
happy
to
do
because
I
think
it's
going
to
help.
You
know
every
student
in
that
lab
as
well
as
obviously
we
ordered
lots
of
other
computers
that
are
going
to
be
used
in
different
parts
of
the
school
district.
So
we
do
appreciate
it
and
we
hope
that
you
very
shortly
see
you
know.
Improvements
in
that
classroom.
C
N
By
basically
turning
it
into
a
big
client.
A
N
We
do
not
yet
have
an
ETA
of
when
the
new
computers
will
arrive,
so
we're
hoping
to
see
those
soon.
Obviously,
that
order
has
been
put
in
and
in
the
meantime,
we
took
immediate
action
by
turning
those
same
computers
from
A
Thin
Client
into
a
thick
client,
so
that
the
programs
can
take
advantage
of
the
local
resources
more
and
we're
seeing
immediate
improvements
in
that
lab
in
the
moment.
So
we
did
take
steps
to
just
address
the
immediate
issue.
While
we
wait.
H
K
N
So,
thank
you
Hassan,
so
computers
can
come
in
all
shapes
and
forms.
Obviously
the
tower
is
just
if
you
choose
the
computer,
that's
just
in
a
really
large
case
rather
than
a
computer,
where
it
could
be
large.
It
can
be
small
as
long
as
the
internal,
the
processor,
the
memory
and
the
hard
drive.
That's
in
there
is
a
solid
state,
hard
drive
that
determines
the
performance
of
a
computer.
So
we
ordered
the
computers
and
we
ordered
them
quite
well.
N
We
were
with
them
with
the
12th
generation
i5
processor
and
we
have
ordered
almost
16
gigs
of
memory,
so
they're
actually
rated
glasses
for
quite
some
time.
So
in
terms
of
what
a
thin
client
is
and
a
thick
line
is,
is
that
during
the
pass
we
had
a
lot
of
older
programming,
Pro
software
that
we
needed
to
ensure
still
worked
with
our
Labs.
So
we
placed
that
on
a
system
where
it
could
go
to
a
server
and
grab
that
same
software.
N
A
A
So
before
we
proceed
to
the
questions
on
agenda
items
I'd
like
to
issue
a
statement
on
behalf
of
the
Brentwood
Board
of
Education,
dear
Brentwood,
Community
and
staff,
as
we
continue
our
pursuit
to
make
our
campus
safer,
more
respectful
and
welcoming
to
all,
we
must
do
so
in
a
transparent
and
accountable
manner
in
that
Spirit.
Please
note:
the
district
takes
all
allegations
of
inappropriate
behavior
by
parents,
students
and
employees
seriously
and
will
not
tolerate
any
inappropriate
behavior
on
our
campus.
A
This
board
and
administrative
team
will
deal
with
these
matters
quickly
and
swiftly,
as
safety
of
all
who
enter
our
campus
is
Paramount.
Employees,
students
and
parents
are
encouraged
to
bring
such
matters
to
the
district's
attention
at
any
time,
without
fear
of
any
adverse
action
being
taken
against
them.
For
doing
so,
please
refer
to
the
district's
students,
complaints
and
grievance
policy,
number
5030
policy
against
retaliation
policy,
number
016
and
code
of
conduct
policy
number
5300.
A
Please
note
it
is
our
duty
and
obligation,
under
certain
circumstances,
to
remove
employees
pending
a
full
investigation
and
pending
the
outcome
or
findings
of
that
investigation.
At
no
time
should
any
Assumption
of
guilt
be
made
by
anyone

of

We
ask
that
the

be
given
an
opportunity
to
do
our
due
diligence
and
ask
our
community
to
refrain
from
rumors

privacy

the

A
O
This
is
a
component
of
the

bargaining
agreement,
as
well
as
other
unions
in
the
district.
This
is
the
first
I'm
seeing
of
it.
I
would
ask
that
this
item
be
placed
or
tabled
for
tonight,
so
that
I
have
the
opportunity
to
review
what
is
being
presented
to
us
and
make
sure
that
it's
in
compliance
with
the
CBA
that
I
currently
represent
and
that
it
does
not
have
negative
impacts
on
our
members.

C
Good
evening
again,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
as
I
say,
every
month
we
have
really
just
an
incredible
amount
of
happenings
across
the
district.
This
only
represents
I
would
say
a
little
more
than
a
fraction
of
the
happenings
going
on
on
November
15th,
our
high
school
students
participated
in
mix
it
update.
As
the
student
Liaisons
mentioned
earlier.
It
was
a
wonderful
event
under
the
direction
of
our
psychologists
and
social
workers.
C
The
high
school
team
collaborated
to
provide
a
forum
that
encouraged
students
to
take
steps
outside
their
social
comfort
zone,
share
something
unique
about
themselves
and
get
to
know
someone
new
students
participate
in
fun-filled
activities,
interacted
with
one
another,
creating
a
positive
vibe
throughout
each
cafeteria.
We
happen
to
pass
through
Miss,
Ortiz
and
myself,
and
it
really
was
a
terrific
event.
The
kids
there
were
prizes
being
handed
out.
There
were
Raffles,
our
kids
were
laughing,
they
were
mingling
with
with
one
another.
C
That
was
the
whole
premise
of
of
the
of
the
morning
and
afternoon
and
the
lunch
periods-
and
it
really
was
just
terrific
and
a
special
Thanks-
goes
to
three
of
our
retirees
who
actually
returned
I
think
they
had
more
fun
than
the
kids.
That's
Antoinette,
shervington
I
think
that's
a
name.
Everybody
knows
as
well
as
Alan
Friedman
and
Cindy
Combs,
and
we
really
appreciate
them
coming
back
and
helping
us
out.
Also,
the
psychologists
and
the
social
workers
really
did
a
terrific
job.
C
This
week
at
the
Freshman
Center
students
engaged
in,
we
are
the
change
2022.
We
are.
The
change
week
is
about
every
individual
student
doing
what
they
can
to
be
the
change
and
create
a
positive,
non-biased,
inclusive
atmosphere
in
the
school
and
at
home.
Students
learn
that
change
starts
from
within
only
they
can
be
the
change
that
makes
a
difference
in
their
own
life
and
the
lives
of
those
around
around
themselves.
The
week
was
filled
with
presentations
and
fun
activities
that
promote
sensitive
and
inclusiveness.
C
Today,
at
Oak
Park,
the
second
grade
students
put
on
a
production
of
The
Nutcracker
for
their
family
and
friends
in
the
grade.
One
students
at
the
school
this
has
been
going
on
for
many
many
years
at
Oak
Park.
It
really
is
a
wonderful
event.
Through
the
Arts
and
education
chill
education
fund,
our
children
were
able
to
learn
the
storyline
and
choreography
of
this
magical
story
and
become
part
of
the
performance
with
professional
actors.
For
one
hour,
our
students
and
families
embarked
on
a
journey
to
a
dream
world
where
imagination
saved
the
day.
C
Next
stop
Southeast
Elementary,
Cindy
sefiri
will
post
it
on
Facebook,
and
this
is
just
I
think
I,
let
the
cat
out
of
the
bag.
Last
week
we
noticed
also
this
month,
our
students.
Have
you
just
can't
help
yourself?
Can
you
Miss
Palmer?
Also
this
month
our
students
have
participated
in
a
plethora
of
educational
field,
trips
to
expose
our
high
school
students
to
college
and
careers.
C
C
This
is
just
an
you
know,
just
a
it's,
not
the
complete
list
of
the
field
trips,
one
of
the
things
that
Miss
Ortiz
is
real
excited
about
and
has
really
been
pushing
the
secondary
schools
in
particular
to
do,
and
that
is
field
trips
to
get
our
kids
out
and
exposed
to
all
different
types
of
events
and
cultural
events
that
are
happening
as
well
as
colleges
and
universities
and
Miss,
Ortiz
and
I
happen
to
be
together
over
at
the
high
school
today
and
this.
C
This
trip
to
the
museum
down
in
Washington
almost
didn't
happen,
but
we
just
happened
to
be
at
the
right
place
at
the
right
time
and
that's
why
this
actually
made
the
agenda
after
it
was
already
produced.
Miss,
Ortiz
and
I
were
there
at
two
o'clock
and
we
were
happy
to
assist
just
the
high
school
I'm
pushing
this
trip
over
the
finish
line.
C
Rumor
has
it
that
the
Joel
Ratner
sondling
Auditorium
is
the
only
safe
place
for
you
and
your
family
to
be
Friday
and
Saturday.
November
18th
and
19th
at
7,
30
PM
come
out
and
support
the
Brentwood
High
School
drama
club
for
their
production
of
Night
of
the
Living
Dead
tickets
are
five
dollars
and
the
recommended
age
for
this
production
is
12,
and
over
did
you
put
that
in
yourself,
Miss
Palmer?
Is
it?
Is
that
really
the
recommendation?
Okay,
all
right
it
is.
C
You
know
what
we
have
again:
miss
Ortiz
and
I
happen
to
stop
over
there.
It's
gonna
be
a
blast.
This
show
this
really
is
it's
gonna
be
a
blast.
So
if
you
have
an
opportunity,
go
out
on
Friday
and
Saturday
night,
it's
going
to
be
a
lot
of
fun
on
Saturday
November
19th
from
10
a.m,
to
1
p.m.
The
Suffolk
Women's
Alliance
northwell
Health,
and
a
partnership
with
lessings
Hospitality,
Group
and
Broadway
Dairy
are
hosting
a
Community
Food
Distribution
at
Brentwood
High
School.
There
will
be
Fresh,
Dairy,
fruits,
vegetables
and
poultry.
C
We
are
grateful
for
these
organizations
in
our
alliance
to
end
food
insecurity.
We
are
using
a
drive-through
method
for
the
Safety
and
Security
for
of
our
volunteers
and
participants.
So
to
be
clear,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
it's
this
Saturday
begins
10
a.m.
It
will
go
to
1
00
pm.
We
have
a
thousand
food
baskets,
actually
it'll
be
a
total
of
four
bags
that
will
be
delivered
to
each
individual
car
security
under
Byron
McRae.
C
Also,
the
high
school
administration,
they've
kind
of
organized
it,
along
with
the
guidance,
Department
I,
believe
they've
they've
put
a
lot
of
time
and
effort
to
organize
this.
As
you
can
imagine,
a
thousand
cars
showing
up
can
be,
you
know,
can
be
a
little
chaotic.
So
please,
if
you
are
there
Saturday
morning,
have
patience
they
will
park.
You
they're
going
to
distribute
numbers
one
through
a
thousand.
Obviously,
and
then
someone
will
come
to
your
car
and
drop
off
the
packages.
C
What
is
really
critical
is
that
that
families
moms
and
dads
and
kids-
you
don't
get
out
of
the
car.
We
will
come
to
you
because
we
don't
want
people
crossing.
You
know
the
parking
lot
and
you
know
potentially
getting
hurt.
So
that's
the
way
it
is.
We
hope
to
see
many
of
you
there
it's
going
to
be
just
a
terrific
morning,
I
think
it's
going
to
be
nice
weather,
so
it
should
be,
should
be
great.
C
Next
week
on
Tuesday
November,
22nd
Laurel
Park
Elementary
School
will
host
balloons,
Over
Broadway
at
10
A.M
in
true
Macy's
Thanksgiving
Parade
Style
students
have
already
begun
to
design
their
costumes
and
balloons.
For
this
festive
event
and
all
Board
of
Education
members
are
invited
to
join
the
festivities
that
is
Tuesday
at
10
A.M
at
Laurel,
Park,
okay,
and
if
you've
ever
been
involved.
Laurel
Park
has
these
parades
quite
frequently,
and
it's
you
know
quite
a
bit
of
fun
on
Tuesday
November
29th
from
7
pm
to
9
pm.
C
The
town
of
Brookhaven
is
sponsoring
a
forum
on
Mental
Health
in
the
classroom
and
Beyond.
The
event
will
be
hosted
by
assemblyman
Doug
Smith
and
will
be
moderated
by
Lisa
Navara,
one
of
our
special
education
teachers,
and
we
are
really
excited
because
we
have
several
members
of
the
Brentwood
faculty
and
staff
on
the
panel
number
one
being
Rhonda
young
assistant,
superintendent
of
special
services.
All
right,
we'll
give
her
a
hand
she's
going
to
be
on
the
panel
wish
her
good
luck,
Kimberly
Clark
assistant
coordinator
and
Dr
Jackson,
principal
of
Twin
Pines.
C
It
it
really
is
a
great
showing
by
the
Brentwood
teachers
and
administrators
Elementary
strategies
will
will
this
Elementary
strategies
will
discuss
the
impact
covid-19
had
on
our
children's
emotional
and
cognitive
development
and
steps
that
can
be
taken
to
reclaim
our
students?
Obviously
just
the
people
I
mentioned.
You
know
that
there
are
experts
in
their
field,
so
I
really
encourage
you
to
go
out
and
watch
this
it
is
in
the
town
is:
is
it
Brookhaven
town
hall,
Brookhaven,
town
hall,.
F
C
Okay
and
just
one
final
thing:
I
know
the
students
who
I
don't
have
it
here
in
front
of
me,
but
the
students
did
mention
that
Steve
ballon
will
be
over
in
the
sandling
auditorium
tomorrow
evening,
I'll
be
there
I
believe
Miss
Ortiz
will
be
there
and
it's
a
town
hall
hosted
by
Steve
ballon.
So
it
should
be
terrific,
that's
from
six
o'clock
to
seven
o'clock
in
the
sondling
auditorium
and.
C
K
Like
organized
yeah,
actually
one
youth
advisory.
C
Right
right
and
that's
actually
I
believe
the
president
of
that
is
a
former
graduate
of
ours,
Joshua
Joshua
Chan,
so
yeah.
It
should
be
a
great
event,
he's
really
a
motivated
young
man
and
has
lots
of
the
kids
involved.
So
that's
terrific!
So
please,
if
you
have
an
opportunity,
come
on
out
to
the
student
forum.
C
What's
up.
Oh
that's
right
and
then
also
on
Saturday
November
26th,
the
Brentwood
Islands
brentwoods
lion
club
will
host
a
flat
Jack
fundraiser
meet
with
Santa.
So
you
got
to
bring
your
camera,
that
is
from
8
A.M
to
10
a.m.
That's
Saturday,
November
26th,
that's
a
Saturday
after
Thanksgiving
that
will
be
over
at
Applebee's
300
Motor
Parkway
in
Brentwood.
Everybody
knows
where
that
is
tickets
are
twenty
dollars
per
person.
You
contact
Mike
scroy
for
reservations.
I
can
give
you
Mike
scrolly's
number.
C
It's
631-273-3968,
that's
for
reservations,
but
I
would
imagine,
because
we've
done
this
before
that
walk-ins
are
also
so
you
don't
necessarily
have
to
call
them
Mike
scroia
those
numbers
here.
You
don't
really
have
to
call
for
reservations,
but
if
you
show
up
it's
twenty
dollars
and
all
of
those
proceeds
go
to
the
senior
scholarships
and
the
law
Lions
Club
every
night
every
year
is
generous
and
gives
out
money
to

A
C
A
M
A
Just
want
to
ask
everyone
in
the
community
to
please
have
her
and
her
family
in
your
prayers
for
a
miracle
to
transpire,
and
you
know
many
of
us
do
believe
in
them
and
we're
hoping
for
one
for
her
and
her
family.
A
Mr
Coyne
I
know:
we've
had
some
other
losses
in
our
district.
If
you
would
be
so
kind
to
come
to
the
microphone
and
also
take
a
moment
to
discuss
the
laws
to
our
community.
O
Thank
you
very
much,
I
so
appreciate
the
cordialness
of
this
board
of
education
and
what
we're
doing
here,
it's
Board
of
Education
meetings,
are
a
pleasure
to
attend
again.
That's
why
I'm
back
yeah,
sadly,
over
the
last
two
weeks,
the
Brentwood
Teachers
Association
and
this
community
has
suffered
two
great
losses.
O
The
first
about
two
weeks
ago,
Ms
Samantha
orelana
science

over
at

Middle,
School,
tragically
37
years
old,
leaves
behind
a

daughter
and
a

of

I
will
tell
you
we're
at
my
Teachers
Association
did
what
they
do
best
and
rise
to
the
occasion.
We
had
a
welcome
back
function
at
a
local
establishment
here,
and
our
buildings
got
together,
created
baskets
and
raised
money,
and
we
were
able
to
call
together
ten
thousand
dollars
which
we
will
be
putting
in
a
trust
in
both
of
the
children's
name.
O
Moving
forward
and
again
just
this
week,
I
will
say
that
we
lost
this
one's
a
little
closer
to
me,
because
I
spent
most
of
my
career
with
him,
but
Richard
opal's,
West,
Middle,
School,
home
and
careers
teacher.
But
anybody
who
was
around
Mr
opals
knows
that
he
was
so
much
more
than
a
home
and
careers
teacher.
He
was
a
wrestling
coach.
He
was
involved
in
every
aspect
of
children's
lives.
O
The
credit
to
him
is
really
what
is
being
said
about
him
by
our
students
on
their
Facebook
pages
and
the
connections
that
he
has.
Especially
this
time
of
year,
both
rich
and
his
wife
Dorothy
would
come
to
West
Middle
School
every
year
this
time
of
year
they
would
cook
six
or
seven
turkeys
and
he
would
have
the
kids
in
his
class
right
leaves
and
ask
the
adults
in
their
lives
to
come
and
share
at
a
table
of
thanks
in
his
classroom.
And
you
know
it
wasn't
just
the
teachers
at
West
Middle
School.
O
We
had
teachers
from
the
other
districts
coming
because
all
of
our
kids
have
a
special
teacher
in
their
life
and
they
would
come
and
they
would
cook
for
hours
and
hours
on
end
and
the
conversations
that
happened
around
that
table
are
really
a
true
Testament
to
what
our
teachers
do
every
day.
Do
the
support
of
our
administrators
in
this
District
because
they
allow
us
to
do
these
things?
O
A
O
You
I,
if
I,
could
take
one
more
minute
of
your
time.
Some
good
news-
and
this
is
on
me
because
I
didn't
send
it
to
Miss
Palmer's
office
earlier
today
for
Mr
lotion
or
lead.
O
But
yesterday
I
had
a
great
opportunity
to
be
over
in
the
sanderling
senior
cafeteria
and
we
have
something
very
special
going
on
in
our
high
school,
a
new
club
that
was
initiated
I
was
able
to
secure
a
grant
through
nysit
the
New
York
State
United
teachers,
because
the
focus
for
the
last
couple
of
years
has
been
take
a
look
at
teaching
because
we
recognize
the
shortage
of
teachers
and
the
numbers
of
people
going
into
teaching
profession.
O
We
looked
around
and
realized
that
we
have
an
incredible
bench
of
future
teachers,
Walking
The,
Halls
of
our
middle
schools
and
our
high
schools.
Over
the
last
two
years,
we've
really
drawn
a
lot
of
attention
to
it.
I
have
over
140
Brentwood
teachers
who
are
former
alumni
of
the
Brentwood
School
District.
We
have
their
faces
up
on
posters
with
QR
codes,
telling
them
telling
our
kids
their
stories
where
they
came
from
how
they
started.
O
Maybe
started
at
Oak
Park
and
went
through
South
Middle
School
and
went
to
Brentwood,
High
School
and
maybe
attended
Adelphi
or
Stony
Brook
or
Cortland,
and
came
back
because
they
believed
in
the
very
system
in
which
they
were
a
part
of,
and
so
yesterday,
Miss
Amy,
Dan,
Natalia,
o'bri,
O'brien,
Brenda,
Salinas,
Diana,
Raza
and
Jackie.
Rooney
are
our
advisors
for
that
club.
O
They
had
over
50
kids
there
yesterday
to
talk
to
them
about
the
opportunities
that
lie
ahead
of
them,
to
become
teachers
and
become
part
of
this
great
profession
and
not
in
some
other
school
district,
but
to
come
back
home
just
like
the
teachers
that
they
see
in
their
classrooms
every
day
and
give
back
to
their
community
and
do
what
is
one
of
the
most
rewarding
professions
that
anybody
can
do.
So.
On
a
positive
note,
we're
doing
great
things,
we're
working
hard
to
fill
our
sub
ranks
and
our
teacher
ranks.
O
We
know
the
retirements
are
coming
they're
on
the
agenda
every
month,
but
we're
hoping
our
kids
go
to
school
and
come
back
and
teach
right
here
in
Brentwood
and
it
is
going
to
really
help
us
diversify
our
teaching
staff
over
the
next
10
to
12
years.
And
that's
what
our
goal
is
here.
So
we
thank
you
for
the
opportunities.
A
A
P
In
here,
oh
no
I
can
wait.
No,
please
Joe
Fritz
Brentwood
resident
before
I
bring
out
what
I
have
to
say.
I
would
like
to
ask
is
to
whether
it
be
possible
I,
see
behind
Miss
Felix
is
the
the
monitor
for
the
for
us
to
see
and
I
think
that
it
would
be?
Probably
you
know,
I,
don't
think
anyone
would
not
would
disagree
that
it
could
be
enlarged.
P
It's
probably
it
could
be
probably
done
three
times
the
size
so
that
people
in
the
back
of
the
room
could
see
the
I
mean
we
could
see
it,
but
it's
almost
like
you're,
seeing
it's
extremely
small
and
very
very
difficult
to
see
that
that
the
presentation
you
had
with
the
individual
getting
that
scholarship
I
think
that
it
wouldn't
be
terribly
expensive
to
to
consider
purchasing
a
larger
monitor
so
that
we
all
can
see
it
almost
like
a
movie,
a
TV
screen.
P
What
I
would
like
to
mention
I
said
I
I
would
hope
that
there's
some
movement
afoot
with
respect
to
these
suggestions
I
made
last
month
with
regard
to
the
return
of
the
driver's
education
program,
but
today,
I'd
like
to
just
bring
to
the
attention
and
Mr
lotion,
I
I
hate
to
put
a
pulse
sometimes
and
I
apologize,
but
sometimes
it's
in
order
to
make
a
point.
You
almost
have
to
stress
it.
P
A
little
more
difficult,
Miss
Felix
earlier
had
suggested
the
the
fact
that
we,
it
Brentwood,
try
to
be
very,
very
forthright
in
bringing
out
facts,
even
though
they
may
be
difficult
to
bear.
I
had
requested
through
a
foil
request,
something
which
would
be
very,
very
simply
a
person's
footsteps,
and
that
is
the
request
for
June
and
August's
graduation
rates,
and
when
I
made
the
foil
request.
After
six
weeks,
I've
been
informed
that
it's
not
available.
P
P
I
did
make
a
formal
foil
request,
but
if,
if
we
could
provide
the
student
body
or
the
people
or
the
audience
with
the
statistics,
the
how
many
people
are
enrolled
in
Brentwood
each
and
every
month,
we
can
certainly
provide
the
information
that
would,
in
effect,
let
me
know
as
to
what
the
percentage
rate
of
the
individual
graduated
and
I
certainly
would
appreciate
your
being
able
to
provide
it
with
me
without
going
through
a
song
and
dance
in
order
to
to
provide
this
I
think
it's
it's
something
which
we
deserve,
but
and
I
really
would
appreciate
it,
but
I
also
want
to
wish
each
and
every
board
member
a
Happy,
Thanksgiving
I
I
appreciate
the
work.
P
C
P
Will
supply
you
could
possibly
just
send
it
to
me
through
your
email.
I
really
appreciate
it.
You
know,
because
providing
this
information
helps
me
make
further
suggestions
and
I.
Think,
and
you
know,
I
think
you've
seen
that
the
suggestion
I've
made
a
somewhat
forthright
they're
useful,
and
you
know
and
I
could
give
you
all
literally
things
which
I've
done
before
you,
even
with
a
school
board
superintendent
which
and
as
a
former
board
member,
so
I
think
you
know
that
I'm
committed
no.
C
To
supply
that
number,
we
were
actually
going
to
do
quite
a
bit
of
actually
miss
Felix
on
the
board.
Asked
the
you
know
the
administrative
team,
along
with
the
high
school
administrative
team,
to
put
together
a
workshop,
where
we
were
going
to
actually
present
that
number
the
graduation
number
as
well
as
the
new
electives
at
the
high
school.
We
thought
it
was
important
to
bring
everybody
up
to
speed
about
that,
but
the
individual
graduation
number
I
can
send
to
you
and
I
can
also
present
to
the
district.
C
Dr
Doolin
is
actually
smiling
because
I've
asked
Dr
Doolin
for
those
numbers
way
back
in
June
right
after
graduation,
so
we
actually
do
have
that.
The
only
my
only
caveat
to
this
conversation,
Mr
Fritz,
is
that
you
know
it
can
differ
when
it
does
come
out
which
it
does
come
out
in
Newsday.
C
I
will
tell
you
that
that
has
Frost
been
a
a
source
of
frustration
for
us.
For
for
many
many
years,
however,
Dr
Doolin
and
her
team
have
really
concentrated
on
the
last
couple
of
years
keeping
our
numbers
that
are
reported
to
the
state
consistent
to
the
numbers
that
we
have.
So
when
I
do
present,
these
numbers
to
you,
as
well
as
the
Board
of
Education
I,
am
with
as
confident
as
I
can
be,
that
those
numbers
will
be
the
same.
When
Newsday
comes
out
with
them.
C
Okay
I
mean,
if
anything,
it
will
differ
by
just
a
few
students
here
or
there,
but
in
the
past
you
know
the
percentages
we
do.
We
have
disagreed
quite
a
bit
with
the
Newsday
numbers,
but
this
year
am
I,
am
I,
correct,
Dr
Doolin
we're
going
to
feel
confident
about
a
lot
of
pressure,
but
no
I
I.
C
C
C
A
We
will
present
to
the
community
because
there's
many
factors
as
you
know,
that
make
up
that
graduation
rate.
So
we
don't
want
any
misinformation
going
out
to
the
community
and
we
want
people
to
see
the
whole
picture.
Not
just
one
portion
of
the
picture.
A
So
moving
along,
we
have
some
questions
from
the
community.
A
There
was
an
issue
yesterday
with
a
rumor
that
was
started
on
Facebook
regarding
a
riot
at
East
Middle,
so
they
want
to
find
out
how
we
will
ensure
that
it
will
not
happen
again
and
how
kids
are
supposed
to
feel
safe
and
they
don't
well.
We
hope
that
our
students
always
feel
safe
and
I.
Think
we've
taken
the
appropriate
measures
here
from
the
beginning
of
the
school
year
by
adding
quite
a
significant
amount
of
security
staff
here
in
the
district.
A
So
we
really
have
been
fortunate
knock
on
wood,
that
we
haven't
really
had
any
serious
incidences
now
we're
in
a
district.
We
have
many
students,
like
any
other
District.
We
are
not
exempt
from
school
fights,
but
I
will
say
they
have
been
minimal
this
year
at
all.
Correct
me
if
I'm
long,
Rich,
no.
C
Actually
that
that
number
has
been
reduced
yesterday
there
was
an
unfortunate
incident.
It
had
to
do
with
social
media.
What
happened
was
I
mean
just
again
to
be
completely
transparent.
There
was
something
that
was
texted,
I
guess
to
all
of
the
students
at
East,
Middle
School
or
the
vast
majority
of
them
that
there
was
going
to
be
an
altercation.
Kids
did
Rush
towards
a
certain
part
of
the
East
Middle
School.
C
That
fight
was
not
did
not
materialize,
quite
simply
because
the
two,
the
two
people
that
were
indicated
as
as
participants
in
this
fight
are
actually
friends
and
they
were
sitting
next
to
one
another
in
a
classroom.
When
that,
actually
this
rumor
went
sent
out,
what
happened
was
it
went
out
to
everybody
and
all
kids,
many
kids
ran
to
the
front
of
the
gymnasium.
I
will
tell
you
that
East
Middle
School
reacted
quickly,
that
the
principal
was
there,
the
assistant
principal
there
was
security
there.
What
happened,
however,
though?
C
C
It
really
was
a
dangerous
situation
momentarily
like
I
said:
I
do
believe
that
the
the
faculty
and
the
administration
at
East
Middle
School
handled
it
as
well
as
possible,
but
a
rumor
could
really
cause
a
great
deal
of
harm
to
to
kids
and
staff
members,
and
you
know,
thankfully,
as
Miss
Felix
said:
well
knock
wood.
That
is
not
a
common
occurrence
here
in
Brentwood,
we're
very
proud
of
that.
But
it
does
warrant
conversations
by
us.
C
As
you
know,
staff
members
here,
as
well
as
parents,
the
danger
of
social
media-
and
you
know
you
might
think
it's
a
funny,
prank
and
I'm
sure
somebody
did
think
it
was
a
funny
prank.
But
you
know
kids
did
get
hurt
and
thankfully
no
one
seriously,
but
it
could
have
been
serious.
A
And
and
if
I
can
I
know,
a
parent
Square
went
out
on
behalf
of
Mr
escobaris
yesterday
and
I'm,
not
going
to
repeat
what
Mr
lotion
I
stated,
because
it
is
part
of
the
parent
square,
but
something
that
is
significant
and
we
should
be
mindful
of.
As
Mr
ocean
mentioned,
they
are
working
to
investigate
to
identify
the
students
responsible.
So
again
we
urge
parents
to
please
have
that
conversation,
because
there
are
ramifications
and
can
be
quite
serious
and
you
know
again,
staff
can
be
hurt,
other
children
can
be
hurt.
A
We
just
don't
want
to
have
that
happen,
and
so
parents,
please
please,
please.
We
urge
you
to
have
these
conversations
that
you
know.
Social
media
is
good
for
one
thing,
but
in
the
school
setting
we
have
to
be
cognizant
of
the
actions
and
the
reactions
that
can
come
from
them.
A
K
So
I
just
wanted
to
mention
something
positive.
Since
we
were
talking
about
school
safety,
some
of
our
own,
led
by
you
know,
Byron
gray,
had
a
great
school
safety
conference.
A
And
I
they
do
this
annually.
So
this
is
something
that
if
you
have
the
opportunity
again
like
I've
said
before,
but
when
we
are
pioneers
in
a
lot
of
Arenas
in
this
community
and
outside
of
yeah,
a
lot
of
other
districts,
look
to
us
for
guidance,
yeah.
C
I
mean
and
the
security
department
is
really
you
know
perfect
example
of
that
Ms
Felix,
that
Byron
McRae
Mike
Rodriguez
we
had
Jessica
Price
also,
you
know,
spoke
there,
I
think
Dr
Jackson
also
spoke,
and
then
we
had
lots
of
other
presenters
during
the
day,
and
this
is
actually
open
to
all
to
actually
security
departments
across
the
Suffolk
and
NASA
County,
as
well
as
police
department.
The
police
department
also
has
a
strong
presence
there
because
they
also
want
to
hear
what's
going
on.
C
So
it
really
is
quite
remarkable
that
our
security
staff
hosts
this
every
year.
We
had
obviously
a
couple
of
years
there
with
covid
that
we
didn't,
but
we've
done
it
probably
about
I,
would
say
five
six
seven
times
so
and
I
I
think
Mr
McRae
probably
anticipates
doing
it
again.
Next
year,
yeah.
K
K
A
K
C
No,
you
know
they,
they
take
it
on
the
road,
because
there
are
lots
of
school
districts
who
look
to
our
security
department
for
advice.
You
know
Mr
McRae,
Mr
Rodriguez
in
particular,
they've
actually
gone.
You
know,
as
you
said,
across
the
country,
I
know,
they've
gone
to
other
states.
They've
worked
with
colleges,
they've
worked
with
high
schools,
many
of
the
local
surrounding
high
schools
call
over
I'm,
sorry,
School
districts
and
high
schools.
C
C
Well,
as
actually
Albany
for
many
many
years,
Miss
Ortiz
has
been
the
voice
of
the
bilingual
students,
so
she
has
actually
been
working
with
the
with
the
the
Office
of
Education
in
terms
of
bilingual
kids.
For
as.
B
C
M
The
the
SEPTA
is
having
their
first
workshop
on
November
30th
at
South,
Middle
School
at
six
o'clock
and
the
the
SEPTA
Workshop
will
be
hosted
by
Dodie
Daniels
from
parent
to
parent
of
New
York
State,
and
it's
about
it's
a
IEP
binder
Workshop.
So
it
