A
A
Board
of
Education,
along
with
the
committee
they've,
really
worked
on.
You
know
putting
together
a
time
frame
for
the
next
few
months
and
they
really
devised
a
really
wonderful
way
to
include
as
many
people
as
possible.
However,
we
now
really
should
change
okay,
the
time
frame,
because
the
state
has
given
us
an
addition
additional
couple
of
years,
not
that
we're
going
to
take
that
time,
but
it
has
given
us
additional
time
to
really
include
all
of
the
the
members
that
make
up
the
school
community
that
is
alumni.
A
Okay,
I'm
talking
alumni
from
you,
know,
30
40
50
60
years
ago,
who
want
to
weigh
in
that
also
includes
alumni
that
will
be
alumni,
July,
1st,
okay,
you
know
current
seniors
they'll
want
to
be
involved
as
well,
and
then
you
have
staff
members.
You
have
community
members,
you
you
that
have
passed
through.
There
have
kids
that
are
currently
in
there.
They
all
want
to
be
involved.
So
since
we've
been
given
this
additional
time,
the
Board
of
Education
feels
that
we
should.
A
Then
you
know
take
that
additional
time
if
we're
to
be
responsible,
so
Dr
Doolin
and
the
students
they're
going
to
make
a
presentation
tonight,
because
it
still
is
pertinent.
We're
still
moving
forward.
The
Board
of
Education
before
the
end
of
the
school
year
will
adopt
a
resolution
committing
to
the
community
and
New
York
state
that
we
are
moving
ahead
with
the
changing
of
of
the
logo.
However,
it
will
just
take
us
a
little
bit
longer
we'll
take
that
necessary
time.
C
C
Some
of
the
student
concerns
they
bring
the
student
voice
to
the
administrative
team
they're
our
extension,
so
anything
that
we're
thinking
about
rolling
out.
We
usually
roll
through
this,
the
principal's
Council
Committee,
just
to
get
their
input
on
it
and
their
advice
and
they're,
brutally
honest
I
can
say
and
and
helping
us
to
really
improve
the
school.
So,
of
course,
one
of
the
items
that
has
been
a
very
hot
ticket
for
them
is
the
school.
C
The
district
logo
and
mascot
they've
been
very,
very
passionate
about
wanting
to
be
a
part
of
History
and
really
devising
a
plan
in
a
way
to
be
as
inclusive
as
possible
and
really
involve
all
of
the
student
body.
The
community
alumni,
Mr
loshner
said,
and
they
put
together
a
very
thorough
presentation
and
they
would
like
to
share
their
recommendations
for
a
possible
competition
that
can
be
rolled
out
across
the
district
and
all
of
our
schools
as
a
way
to
bring
the
community
together
in
this
process.
D
Gardner
and
I'm
a
student
in
Brownwood
High
School.
As
a
committee,
we
have
planned
out
a
timeline
for
the
process
of
picking
out
a
new
mascot
and
logo.
There
are
a
list
of
guidelines
that
the
district
and
come
Community
can
follow
when
submitting
nominations
and
suggestions
for
the
new
logo
and
mascot.
We
have
also
included
in
this
presentation
examples
of
a
logo
and
mascot
which
must
correlate
with
each
other.
E
Hi,
my
name
is
minahil,
so
the
contest
we
have
devised
is
a
proposal
that
we
recommend
as
the
principles
Council
that
could
possibly
be
used
throughout
the
upcoming
school
year.
So,
as
our
proposal
goes,
there
are
18
buildings
in
the
district,
including
the
high
school
witches
two
buildings,
so
each
building
in
the
district
would
hold
a
contest
respectively
within
their
own
school,
and
this
can
be
up
to
their
discretion
because
each
building
can
have
alternating
dates.
E
Students
within
each
building
could
work
individually
or
as
a
class
project
to
submit
their
recommendations,
but
there
must
be
one
mascot
and
One
logo
that
correlate
with
each
other.
So
the
mascot
chosen
as
a
nomination
for
each
School
must
adhere
to
district
and
state
regulations.
E
There
will
also
be
an
additional
nomination
that
will
come
from
the
communities
because
as
important
as
the
students
in
the
district
are
so
are
the
community
members
and
the
alumni
that
once
went
to
our
school.
So
they
will
also
be
involved
in
the
creative
process
and
will
be
giving
a
spot
in
one
of
the
19
nominations.
E
So
the
out
of
the
19
nominations,
the
the
board
will
meet
with
the
principal's
Council,
which
is
composed
of
class
presidents,
Executives
and
members
from
groups
throughout
the
high
school,
and
we
can
meet
and
discuss
and
vote
on
which
three
would
best
represent
the
school.
So
those
top
three
will
be
sent
out
to
the
community,
as
is
our
recommendation
and
the
community,
and
the
students
in
the
district
would
be
able
to
vote
on
them
together
to
achieve
a
first
place
winner,
which
could
be
used
as
our
new
mascot
foreign.
F
Chica,
so
the
guidance
for
a
new
mascot,
our
new
mascot,
should
continue
to
inspire
the
community
and
students
to
strive
for
academic
success.
Brentwood
is
known
for
our
successes
in
each
field
and
this
new
mascot
should
continue
to
improve,
improve
and
Inspire
onto
future
Generations,
because
we
are
such
a
big
District.
It
is
important
to
include
every
student
as
well
as
our
traditional,
green
and
white
colors
within
our
community.
There
are
so
many
different
cultures,
traditions
and
beliefs,
and
this
is
the
new.
D
Other
examples
could
be
things
such
as
like
bees
and
maybe
honey
being
covered
over
by
the
Bee
or
maybe
even
Badgers
and
Jaws,
covering
bees
as
well
laughs.
E
So
the
proposal
contest
guidelines
and
examples
presented
today
are
a
suggestion
and
recommendations
from
the
principal's
Council
and
the
students
in
the
high
school
as
a
proposal
of
what
could
possibly
be
used
next
year.
We
know
the
upcoming
school
year
may
have
a
lot
of
things
that
changed.
E
G
Thank
you
all
for
your
hard
work.
I
mean
you
guys
are
actually
laying
the
foundation
for
what's
to
come,
so
this
is
definitely
something
you
should
be
proud
of.
We're
proud
of
you
and
we
thank
you,
because
we
know
that
this
did
not.
You
know
happen
easily.
It
was
a
lot
of
collaboration
that
you
guys
worked
through
and
your
partnership
with
the
district
and
the
board
of
education,
so
we're
very
proud
of
the
outcome
that
we
see
here
this
evening.
So
thank
you
so
very
much.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
G
Do
we
have
anyone

A
Good
evening,
everyone
I
have
just
a
few
announcements
that
I
want
to
just
speak
about.
First
I
want
to
thank
everyone
who
is
involved
in
the
Gary
mints.
Pancake
run.
It
was
a
huge
success.
It's
a
big
fundraiser
here.
If
the
school
district,
it
actually
raises
money
for
senior
scholarships,
and
we
give
out
quite
a
few
scholarships
to
seniors
because
of
the
the
fundraising
efforts
at
the
Gary
mints
run.
A
I
also
want
to
thank
the
the
volunteers
who
go
out
into
the
street,
there's
quite
a
few
student
volunteers,
there's
quite
a
few
teacher
and
administrative
volunteers.
Miss
Costa
I
want
to
thank
her
personally
she's
actually
does
a
wonderful
job.
She's,
a
science
department
chair
at
the
high
school
and
she
actually
kind
of
starts
working
on
that
really
well
in
it
well
in
advance,
probably
almost
a
year
in
advance,
putting
that
you
know
tremendously
large
event
together
and
I.
Really
it's
just
a
really
a
great
event.
Great
Community
event.
A
I
want
to
thank
everybody
who
is
involved
in
that.
It's
also
my
pleasure.
This
year
to
announce.
We
have
three
scope:
Award
winners
that
I'm
going
to
just
take
a
moment
to
read.
You
know
their
bios
that
we
put
together.
We
nominated
a
Community
member,
Ellen,
adelstein
I.
Think
many
many
people
hear
no
Hershey's
actually
been
a
terrific.
A
She
was
a
terrific
teacher
here
for
over
30
years
and
she's
a
terrific
Community,
Advocate
and
involved
in
so
many
things
that
we
thought
it
was
time
to
honor
her
and
I'll.
Just
read
real
briefly.
Ellen
Edelstein
personifies
the
meaning
of
the
word
Community.
She
was
not
only
a
math
teacher
for
30
plus
years,
but
she
also
has
been
a
proud
lifelong
Brentwood
resident
Ellen
inspires
all
those
around
her
to
action,
immersing
herself
in
the
Brentwood
Community,
as
vice
president
on
the
board
of
the
public
library.
A
I
want
to
thank
the
Board
of
Education
they've,
been
you
know,
staunch
proponents
of
finishing
the
schoolhouse,
which
we
hope
to
do
in
the
next
few
months
and
Ellen
Edelstein
has
been
a
a
terrific
partner
in
that
and
she's.
Also,
we
didn't
have
this
in
here,
but
she's
also
on
the
committee
here.
A
Do
you
want
to
come
in
she's
on
the
audit
committee
here
in
the
school
district
we'd
also
like
to
recognize
Teresa
jacalone
a
dynamic
and
dedicated
Dynamic
and
dedicated
of
just
two
words
to
describe
Teresa
for
the
last
29
plus
years,
Teresa
has
been
a
teacher
of
teachers,
students
and
administrators.
Her
steadfast
commitment
to
learning
was
put
on
full
display
in
March
of
2020
during
the
emergency
closure
of
schools
caused
by
coven
Teresa's
knowledge
of
computer
manipulation,
including
how
to
use
various
devices
operating
systems.
A
Software
applications
Etc,
coupled
with
her
nurturing
spirit,
proved
to
be
invaluable
to
the
Brentwood
School
District,
with
patience
and
a
smile,
Teresa
taught
teachers,
the
skills
necessary
to
toggle
between
synchronous
and
asynchronous
learning.
She
really
was
indispensable
for
a
few
years
and
she
still
is.
She
still
does
a
tremendous
amount
of
work
for
us
and
then,
finally,
we
are
very
happy
to
recognize
an
administrator
who's,
just
a
wonderful
human
being,
and
that
is
Maria
Rodriguez.
A
Some
people
work
to
live.
Maria
Rodriguez,
however,
lives
to
work
for
bretwood,
uni,
Free,
School
District,
a
dedicated
wife,
strong
mother
of
three
sons
and
grandmother
to
beautiful
Gabriella
Maria
is
devoted
to
her
family,
but
as
her
home
family,
but
as
they
and
we
all
know,
she
is
just
devoted
as
devoted
to
her
Brentwood
Union
Free
School
District
family.
She
spends
a
tremendous
amount
of
time
here,
a
true
Testament
to
a
work
ethic
and
determination.
Maria
taught
sixth
grade
bilingual.
A
For
many
years
became
a
teacher
on
special
assignment
for
the
bilingual
and
enl
office
and
now
serves
as
a
district
assistant
coordinator
steadfast
during
covid.
She
showed
up
every
day
and
rallied
family
community
Plaza
Liaisons
to
help
the
entire
District
Maria
is
direct,
can't
hold
the
tune
to
save
her
life,
but
breathes
to
serve
the
entire
Brentwood.
A
Community
and
I
have
to
say
you
know:
I
was
here
during
covid
Maria,
along
with
you,
know
the
cabinet
and
Paula,
and
so
many
people
just
put
in
a
tremendous
amount
of
hours,
and
she
really
is
a
wonderful
just,
a
wonderful
lady.
If
you
could
keep
her
in
your
prayers,
she
is
going
just
she's
having
you
know
a
procedure
done
that
really
does
warrant
the
community
to
to
pray
and
that
she
has
a
full
recovery.
A
I
also
want
to
thank.
We
have
there's
so
many
other
things
I
could
be
speaking
about,
but
we
have
concerts
that
are
going
on
in
the
district
on
a
daily
basis.
I'm
looking
at
you
know
some
teachers
here,
they're
reminding
me.
We
also
have
upcoming,
we'll
have
outdoor
competitions
for
the
kids.
A
You
know
eats.
What
is
that
thing
called
field
day?
Thank
you
just
left
my
head.
Thank
you
Angie.
So
we'll
have
field
days
and
concerts
coming
up,
but
I
want
to
thank
all
of
the
the
teachers
administrators
who
spent
so
much
time
and
effort
on
that,
and
that's
it.
Okay,
oh
the
you
know
what.
How
did
we.
A
On
April
29th
we
have
the
walk:
okay,
but
I'm
gonna.
Let
you
speak
about
that.
G
A
Because
this
is
actually
this
is
Eileen
has
been
at
the
Forefront
of
this
and
we
we
actually
should
give
Eileen
a
hand
for
this,
because
she,
you
know
I'm
serious.
You
know
you
you
really.
This
was
your
brain
child
many
many
years
ago.
So.
G
Thank
you
on
April
29th,
we're
hosting
the
Brentwood
women
fight
back
against
breast
cancer,
we're
having
a
walk,
we're
also
having
a
brunch
with
the
seminar
which
includes
I,
think
we
have
speaker
coming
to
show
women
how
to
self-administer
an
exam.
We're
having
Kenya
Nunez,
come
and
get
a
testimony
and
some
additional
information,
and
it's
just
going
to
be
a
nice
day
with
family,
and
it's
not
just
for
women,
it's
for
men
as
well,
and
they
will
be
speaking
to
the
men
as
well,
who
do
develop.
I
G
Take
we
have
tables,
I
mean
how
much
yeah
grams
so
that,
as
you
walk
the
track,
you
can
deliver
a
message
to
someone
who's
here
or
past.
Some
words
of
encouragement,
we'll
have
sashes
for
survivors,
Fighters
t-shirts,
for
both
it's
just
going
to
be
a
lot
going.
B
G
Gonna
be
good:
we
invite
the
community
to
come
down,
that'll,
be
April,
29th
Saturday
at
9,
00
a.m
and
right.
G
J
I
see
so
good
evening
boy.
Thank
you!
So
May
6
we're
going
to
have
autism
awareness,
walk,
we'll,
have
Raffles
we'll
have
a
sensory
in
the
cafeteria
and
we'll
have
tons
of
resources
in
the
gymnasium
for
our
parents
to
know
what's
available
for
them.
A
B
A
Happy
happenings
here
guys
we
also
yeah
I,
do
want
to
thank.
We
actually
had
the
the
prom
dress
of
that.
Thank
you
for
reminding
me
because
that
was
absolutely
fabulous.
They
were
quite
a
few
well
over
a
hundred
dresses
were
given
out
to
to
students,
it's
really
a
beautiful
event.
It
takes
place
over
in
the
saddling.
What
they
do
is
they
set
up.
They
get
lots
of
dresses
donated
many
of
them
Anew.
A
Some
of
them
are
gently
used
and
they're
from
you
know,
staff
members,
community
members
as
well
as
organizations,
and
they
the
high
school,
puts
it
together.
They
do
a
beautiful
display
on
the
stage
area,
and
you
know
students
come
down
and
they
pick
out.
You
know
dresses
and
gowns
for
the
prom,
for
you
know
formals
they
some
many
of
them
leave
with
one
and
two
and
even
more
dresses,
and
it's
really
just
a
beautiful,
beautiful
event
and
I
want
to
thank
the
teachers.
A
Dr
Doolin
I
know
is
involved
in
that
and
really
is
a
great
event.
B
B
J
A
Have
to
recognize
Cindy
is
being
yes,
it's
by
the
Cindy
safiri.
She
paid
a
lot
of
money
and
then,
finally,
what
giving
her
an
award
is
that
what
it
was.
A
I
am
just
teasing
I'm,
just
teasing,
you
know:
Cindy
safare,
Miss,
Cindy
Safari
is
being
honored
by
the
nyssb.
A
The
Nassau
County
School
boards
Association,
and
it
really
is.
It
is
actually
a
wonderful
honor
as
long
as
I've
known
I,
don't
know
of
anybody
from
the
nest.
If
I
don't
know
if
anybody
has
been
recognized
for
by
that
organization,
so
it's
actually.
G
A
Have
a
few
other
and
Wanda
Rhonda
anything
else
Stace?
Well,
obviously
we
have
the
budget.
I
would
like
to
comment
on
the
budget
that
you
know.
Miss
Felix
read
one
of
the
you
know.
Obviously
one
of
the
D
items
on
the
agenda.
It
is
worthy
to
note.
We
have
some
new
people
here
that
actually
represents
a
zero
tax
levy
by
the
district,
and
that
represents
the
fourth
year
in
a
row
that
we
have
gone
out
with
a
zero
percent
tax
raise
to
the
community.
A
I
will
say
publicly
because
you
know
the
question
will
always
be:
does
that
mean
my
taxes
will
not
go
up?
The
answer
is
no
that
doesn't
guarantee
your
taxes
will
not
go
up,
because
your
your
tax
rate
can
go
up
for
other
reasons.
Besides
the
school
district,
for
example
the
police
department,
the
library
there
might
be
other
reasons,
your
tax
rate
in
the
town
of
Islip
go
up.
However,
if
you
take
a
look
at
the
agenda,
it's
111
million
dollars
that
we've
been
asking
the
community
members
to
come
up
with
the
last
four
years.
A
G
Also
money
that
coming
into
the
district,
who
are
going
to
make
sure
that
our
budget
for
sure
that
goes
out
is
more
detailed
than
usual
so
that
it's
as
transparent,
as
can
be
with
the
community,
how
we're
allocating
the
funds?
You
know
it's
important
to
us.
It's
the
main
function
of
this
board
is
to
create
and
adopt
the
budget.
One
up
right
policy
engineering,
this
one
superintendent-
but
it's
super
important
for
us
to
have
that
trust
with
the
community
and
that
transparency
to
know
that
we
are
conscious
towards
of
the
district
and
the
money.
G
A
No
I
will
say
yes,
the
board
has
been
you
know
very.
You
know
involved
in
this
and
wanted
to
make
sure
that
we're
spending
the
money
appropriately
if
you'd,
like
I
I,
can
just
mention
some
of
the
highlights.
Yeah,
no.
G
A
K
On
May
9th,
well,
that's
the
potential
date
Eastern
Suffolk
BOCES
will
be
coming
to
the
high
school.
We're
gonna
do
to
increase
post-secondary
outcomes.
We're
going
to
actually
have
BOCES
come
in
we're
going
to
start
with
students
that
are
eligible
for
Access
VR
services.
So
we're
going
to
do
a
sign-in,
so
they're
going
to
sign
up
for
CTE
courses,
wow
yeah,
so
we're
making
the
connection
before
they
graduate.
So
is
that
during
the
day
during
the
day,
8
AM
yeah.
A
I
also
want
to
say
that
the
the
BOCES,
the
cosmetology
that
we
bought
in
this
year
has
just
been
a
terrific
program,
right
Wanda
and
on
May
1st
they're,
actually
in
a
competition
over
at
one
of
the
hotels
and
they
yeah
they're
just
so
excited
the
kids
involved
in
that
program,
really
just
a
wonderful
thing
that
we
bought
in
and
it's
it's
giving
an
opportunity
to
twice
the
amount
of
kids
that
we
gave
an
opportunity
to
in
years
past.
So
it's
it's
really
wonderful
that
we
we
did
that
Richard.
I
A
Did
though,
I
should
say,
though
they
were,
they
did
the
makeup
and
the
hair
for
the
musical
kids
yeah.
They
volunteered
their
time.
It
was
just
real
and
the
anti-bullying
fashion
show
they,
which
is
you,
saw
all
of
the
kids
involved
there.
It
was
really
just
a
great
collaboration.
Yeah,
really
really
great,
a
great
thing
that
we've
wanted
some.
A
As
I
mentioned,
we
have
a
a
nine
period
day
at
the
middle
school
and
we've
budgeted
the
the
board
has
budgeted
10
additional
staff
members
for
each
one
of
those
middle
schools.
We
are
seeing
a
growth
in
Elementary
and
Middle
School
bilingual,
so
we
bought
it
we're
bringing
in
new
staff
members
there.
We
have
a
guidance,
College
Planning
room,
and
you
know
so
just
just
some
of
the
Staffing
additions
that
we've
had
we're,
also
bringing
in
lots
of
other.
You
know,
instructional
materials.
A
We
hope
to
enhance
our
technology
rooms
and
biotechnology
rooms.
I
mean
like
the
shops,
okay,
so
we're
bringing
in
in
new
engravers
lazing.
Laser
engraving
is
actually
the
wave
of
the
future,
so
we're
we're
purchasing
some
laser
engravers
for
the
technology
rooms,
we're
also
upgrading
some
of
their
actual
equipment.
Routers
Etc
we're
getting
some
of
those
we're,
also
upgrading
some
of
our
risers
and
instruments,
and
that
is
in
our
music
department
across
the
district.
We're
also
bringing
in
you
know,
graphic
we
have
to
upgrade
our
graphing
calculators
and
believe
it
or
not.
A
Those
are
very
expensive,
but
we
Supply
our
high
school
students
with
graphing
calculators,
we're
upgrading
the
computers
in
the
Freshman
Center
and
the
high
school
in
the
art
room.
We
have
an
outstanding
art
program
here.
It's
really
second
to
none
and
if
you
could
see
some
of
the
output
of
our
kids,
it's
really
outstanding
and
we're
upgrading
their
computers
in
it.
We're
also,
you
know
we're
also
taking
care
of
some
of
the
clocks
and
backboards
at
many
of
the
schools.
A
Okay,
gymnasiums,
we're
purchasing
wrestling
mats,
cheer,
competition,
stuff,
we're
also
introducing
a
golf
team,
so
we
have
to
borrow
some
equipment
there,
we're
upgrading
our
elementary
and
middle
school
libraries
where
we're
putting
money
aside
to
really
bring
them
into
the
21st
century.
If
you
take
a
look
at
some
of
our
elementary
schools,
they've
already
been
upgraded.
They're
such
beautiful
rooms.
They
have
beautiful
Furniture.
The
bookshelves
are
absolutely
outstanding
again
to
point
to
the
high
school
we
just
redid
the
Ross
Library,
it's
absolutely
beautiful.
The
the.
A
If
you
walk
into
the
Ross
Library,
you
think
you're
walking
into
a
University
library,
and
that's
just
what
we
want
our
kids
to
feel
like
they
want.
You
want
to
feel
like
a
success,
and
let
me
tell
you
that
library
is
absolutely
beautiful
if
you
have
an
opportunity
to
walk
by
and
we're
we're
doing
some
of
the
libraries
at
the
middle
schools
in
the
elementary
we're
also
in
terms
of
security,
we're
upgrading
some
of
our
security
cameras,
we're
putting
additional
security
cameras
in
and
we're
upgrading
them.
You've
heard
me
mention
the
man
traps.
A
Hopefully
they
get
installed
this
summer,
but
we're
putting
in
Vape
detectors.
You
know
we're
putting
in
door
alarms
were
upgrading
the
fire
alarm
system.
I
should
let
you
know
too.
The
high
school
is
getting
an
upgrade
to
their
fire
alarm
system,
which
is
quite
an
expensive
project,
but
one
that
we
need
to
do,
and
thankfully
we
can
do
that.
We're
also
adding
additional
guards
throughout
the
district.
A
I
know
that
the
board
is
committed
to
that
we're
probably
putting
additional
guards
in
in
some
of
the
buildings,
we're
also
upgrading
the
home
Eck
kitchens.
Okay,
the
home
economic
kitchens.
One
of
the
things
we're
excited
about
doing
is
we're
renovating
the
radio
station,
okay,
88.1
first
in
the
dial
First
in
your
heart,
okay,
we're
upgrading
that
it's
going
to
continue
to
be
an
outstanding
station.
However,
the
equipment
is
really
outdated
and
we
hope
to
actually
do
podcasts.
You
know
which
is
kind
of
the
wave
of
the
future.
A
So
that's
something
we're
also
renovating
some
warehouses,
Shades
we're
putting
money
aside
for
bathroom
Renovations,
some
at
the
high
school,
some
at
other
schools.
You
have
to
know
that
bathroom
Renovations
are
quite
expensive.
If
you're
wondering
why
we
have
some
bathrooms
that
are
50
years
old,
the
reality
is,
you
have
to
do.
What's
called
a
bait,
you
have
to
take
the
asbestos
out
of
you
know
the
bathrooms.
That
is
a
very
expensive
proposition,
and
then
you
obviously
have
to
you
know,
rebuild
the
bathroom.
A
So
every
year
we
put
some
money
aside
and
we
do
some
Renovations
on
bathrooms,
Elementary
sink
cabinets.
If
you
have
kids
that
are
in
the
elementary
schools,
you'll
notice,
the
sinks
in
many
of
the
Elementary
classrooms
need
to
be
upgraded.
That's
been
years
and
years
in
need
of
that.
So
we're
doing
that
this
summer,
The
Ross
gymnasium
we're
redoing
that
the
floor
we're
resurfacing
the
pool,
we're
also
putting
lights
in
there.
You
mentioned
the
board
actually
approved
tonight
the
Richard
Opals
wrestling
room
which
we're
really
excited
about
and
we're
just
gonna.
A
You
know
spruce
up
that
room
as
well
before
we
actually
do
a
dedication
ceremony
later
this
year
and
as
I
mentioned
the
high
school
fire
alarm,
we're
also
doing
parking
lots.
If
you
notice
every
year,
we
do
new
parking
lots,
we're
doing
Twin,
Pines
Pine
Park
we're
going
to
do
those.
Those
again
are
very
expensive
propositions.
Thankfully
we
are
able
to
do
that
without
really
passing
the
cost
on
to
the
to
the
community
we're
doing
the
guard
booth
Renovations
over
at
the
high
school.
We
hope
to
upgrade
that
guard
booth
as
well.
A
As
you
know,
in
the
front
of
that
and
behind
it,
the
wall
there
and
the
you
know
the
plants
we
need
to
do,
an
East
K
is
going
to
get
an
upgrade
and
so
that
playground
equipment
we
have.
Obviously
we
have
to
continue
to
put
money
aside
for
the
turf
field.
Please
don't
get
frustrated,
we
hope
to
break
ground
very.
A
Spring
this
fall,
but
we're
we're
anticipating
phase.
I
A
So
we're
putting
a
money
aside
into
a
fund,
so
we
can,
you
know,
spend
that
in
the
future,
towards
the
second
phase
of
the
turf,
we're
also,
the
board
of
education
has
been
looking
into
acquiring
a
building.
You
know
because
we're
expanding
and
we
put
money
aside
in
case
we
purchase
that
building
and
also
renovate
that
building
and
make
it
ready
for
offices
and
school
and
for
classrooms,
so
it
might
be
going
is
all
right
just
a
little
bit
more
here,
so
you
know
we're
also
purchasing
you
know.
A
Trucks
and
BNG
vehicles
we're
getting
a
parking
lot
and
Road
sweeper,
because
obviously
there's
lots
of
gravel
after
a
tough
winter
and
some
of
the
security
vehicles
need
to
be
upgraded.
A
One
of
the
things
we're
also
excited
about
and
we're
putting
in
we're
giving
elementary
schools.
This
has
never
been
done
in
the
history
of
Brentwood
as
far
as
I
know
we're
we're
giving
Elementary
Schools
transportation
in
the
afternoon.
A
So
what
we
hope
to
do
is
give
intensive,
tutoring
or
intensive
help
to
students
after
school
and
provide
transportation.
That's
been
the
obstacle
for
for
many
families,
okay,
so,
for
example,
I'm
going
to
just
pick
a
school
ends
it
closes
at.
You
know
school
ends
at
3
45,
for
example.
A
You
know
the
kids,
normally,
obviously
they
get
on
a
bus
or
they
go
home
with
Mom
and
Dad
or
grandparents.
Now
what
we
hope
to
do
is
twice
a
week
in
every
Elementary.
School
is
give
intensive
after
school,
help
to
our
kids
and
at
five
o'clock
or
5
15.
We're
not
exactly
sure
when
we
then
do
a
bus
ride
home.
So,
for
example,
Oak
Park
may
do
Monday
and
Wednesday
Loretta
Park.
You
know
Tuesday
and
Thursday,
but
we'll
let
you
we'll
give
a
schedule
out
to
the
school
community.
So
we're
real
excited
about
that.
A
A
Thank
you
I'm,
sorry,
so
if
you
want
to
be
bored
for
a
second
time.
I
G
Sure
we
have
a
question
from
the
community
in
light
of
new
rules
from
the
state
government
that
the
Native
American
mascots,
what
will
Brentwood
High
School's
new
mascot
be
rebranded
to
this
is
Julian
Gomez
Julian
we
discussed
this
earlier
on,
but
we
have
to
have
a
plan
in
place
by
July
1st,
so
the
district
is
going
to
adopt
a
resolution
which
states
called
the
plan
of
action.
G
A
We,
since
this
is
all
brand
new
to
us,
we
were
anticipating.
As
I
said
earlier,
we
were
anticipating
being
very
quick
because
we
had
to
get
this
completed
by
July
1st.
We
have
a
little
breathing
room,
so
I'll
probably
send
out
a
letter
to
the
community
in
the
next
week
or
so
out.
I'm
going
to
wait
for
State
Ed
actually
has
to
release
guidelines
they.
This
is
all
you
know,
just
kind
of
verbal
picking
up
things
through
Newsday.
A
You
know
our
attorney
Miss
Gomez
came
in
with
some
information
today,
but
we
really
shouldn't
move
forward
until
we
get
an
actual
document
from
state
ad.
They
always
give
guidance
whenever
they
put
out
a
new
role,
so
we'll
get
some
guidance,
hopefully
in
the
next
few
days
after
that,
I'll
probably
send
a
letter
to
the
community
explaining
the
why
we
now
have
some
breathing
room
as
to
you
know,
maybe
next
year
putting
a
committee
together,
a
larger
committee
together
involving
community
members,
students,
alumni
and
then
coming
up
with
a
name
and
also
I.
H
Foreign
Costa
and
I
am
a
10th
grade
student
in
the
Ross
building
at
Brentwood
High
School
I'm
running
in
regards
to
the
possibility
of
having
girls
for
high
school
black
football
team
to
be
an
official
sport
here
at
Brownwood
High
School
I
would
like
to
advocate
for
for
Brentwood
students
to
have
the
opportunity
to
play
a
sport
that
has
grown
exponentially
across
the
island
and
the
country
now
is
the
time
to
strike
while
the
iron
is
hot.
Last
year
was
the
pilot
year,
and
this
year
is
the
first
official
season.
H
We
have
the
time
to
act
now
and
start
this
program
for
the
2023-2024
school
year.
Furthermore,
women's
flag
football
is
now
being
offered
in
college,
and
student
athletes
can
earn
Athletics
College
in
a
sport.
If
five
football
team
usually
consists
of
225
members,
we
have
about
2
600
female
students
in
our
building
and
I
personally
have
met
25
students
who
ex
who
express
interest
in
the
sport
being
in
the
requirements
of
having
a
flag
football
team.
Therefore,
student
participation
should
not
be
an
issue
for
the
amount
of
kids
needed.
H
In
addition,
adding
a
female
sport
will
promote
female
Independence.
Involve
the
community
and
provide
camaraderie
with
new
friendships
and
community
support
the
girls
flag
football
program
is
not
an
official
sport
for
Section,
11
and
I
believe
it
is
especially
important
for
Brownwood
to
get
involved
and
to
be
part
of
the
flag
football,
because
it's
still
fresh
and
new,
and
we
could
build
that
program
early
and
be
competitive
now,
rather
than
play
catch
up
with
other
schools.
A
It's
you
know,
Madeline
that
is
so
funny.
You
said
you
brought
this
up.
I
actually
was
speaking
to
the
athletic
director
yesterday,
when
I
was
out
watching
the
softball
game,
we
were
discussing
flag
football,
so
he's
aware
of
that,
you
so
we'll
we'll
have
to
continue
this
discussion,
so
this
was
fantastic
too.
By
the
way
it
really
was
wonderful.
Thank.
A
You
you
know
what
Madeline
I'm
gonna
actually
give.
This
I'm
gonna
give
a
copy
of
this
to
the
athletic
director
tomorrow
and
he'll
meet
with
you,
okay,
because,
like
I
said,
we
had
a
long
discussion
yesterday
about
this,
and
you
know
he
is
aware
that
it's
brand
new
this
year,
they're
all
school
districts
that
are
participating.
As
you
know,
we
we
started
last
year
we
started
bowling
and
badminton
and
they're
terrific
teams.
This
is
on
the
second
the
second
year
they're,
both
in
existence.
A
You
know
we
have
one
of
the
coaches
here
right
now
that
we
I
think
I
point
that
out.
What's
our
record
right
now,
wow.
A
Okay,
all
right!
Well,
we
have
one
of
you
know
a
lot
more
games
in
year,
two
than
we
did
in
year,
one
which
is
exceptional.
My
point
is
Madeleine,
not
you
know
to
talk
about
how
we've
added
new
sports,
so
this
is
a
real
real
possibility.
Okay,
so
I
I
love
that
you
bought
this
to
to
our
attention
and
that
you've
already
kind
of
ginned
up
interest
in
the
school
I
think
that's
terrific,
yeah,
let's
come
on
after
we
we're
ending
early.
So
let's
go
out
and
have
a
flag
football
game.
G
There
is
good
evening
there
is
an
unawareness
by
some
parents,
driving
of
the
safety
of
the
children
crossing
the
crosswalks
and
the
parking
lots,
particularly
at
Southwest.
It's
a
well-known
problem:
can
there
be
a
discussion
of
ideas
to
alert
drivers
to
be
more
cautious
and
aware,
as
well
as
to
slow
down.
A
I
I
think
that's
something
we'll
we'll
talk
about.
I
I
wasn't
aware
of
that
I'm
over
there
in
the
morning,
I
can
see
how
that
could
be
an
issue.
So
I
will
talk
to
the
head
of
security
to
see
if
we
have
security
guards
placed
in
the
correct
spot.
You
know,
because,
typically,
what
happens
in
the
morning
and
I've
been
there
for
the
entering
of
students
that
there
is
a
security
guard,
usually
stands
in
the
crosswalk
and
walks
kids
across.
A
So
if
that's
not
taking
place
in
Southwest,
we'll
we'll
look
into
that.
